Beautiful place on top of the hill overlooking Saturnia valley unfortunately the facilities quite small and overcroweded , great breakfast , the restaurant La Chianina Pescatrice the food is not the best , the service excellent !
the location, the grounds, the staff, the breakfast
The hotel itself The wifi doesnt work in the room n the ac was not working either
Beautiful location.. Opened in 2007 and landscaping works incomplete. Some noise from chain saw disturbed the first day. No bar or lounge and poolside drinks a bit of an effort.
The people there and the pool. The room was very nice and clean too. In about a year this place might be awesome, but for now it isn't ready. The restaurant runs only a very limited menu and the food is average set at an above average price. There is no internet. Overall they look they aren't really ready to open officially, but ready to pretend to be. The people there were very nice and friendly, but they can't make the bad things better only time can. Wasn't happy and we let them know it. They gave us no discount, but we didn't demand one either. They said we were, "very nice people".
Quit environnment. Personel at reception desk and cleaning service good and professional. Architectual building mistakes in room. Airco blows you cold air in the face. Smaal rooms. Amazing so bad not experienced waiters...But very friendly..
The staff were extremely helpful the view of sunrise and sunset fab food good not superb and very close to the thermal cascades
Extremely friendly and helpful staff - very well equipped and comfortable room - excellent restaurant - amazing bargain
Fantastic hotel in wonderful location. Excellent menu for lunch & dinner. Weather was good so we didn't have time to take advantage of the spa facilites. Wish we could have stayed longer. Cheerful and attentive staff.
this hotel is wonderful- it is a very expensive hotel- and your rate was almost too good- would have paid more but not its full price- great location
Sebastian at the front desk is great! would have appreciate at least one picture hanging on the wall of my room....
Wonderfull stay in Toscana near Saturnia spa. Relaxing stay, brilliant food and friendly staff.
The Hotel was situated well fro our drive from Rome to Livorno, has a great swimming pool, and room was big Hotel Staff do not speak English
I liked the beautiful and very romantic landscape, the silence, the big and clean rooms, the traditional furniture. I also liked the staff that was very friendly and relaxed. The atmosphere, espacially at the evening, when the moon started rising was brilliant. Also the food in the restaurant of the hotel is very good, but you have to be lovers of exquisite kitchen, which means small plates and quite expensive prices. You can visit a lot of very beautful small villages around, that will surprise you a lot while discovering them. The breakfast, although tasty, was extremly italian, which means instead of bacon and eggs and a nice bread, there was mainly very sweet cake. Something which is surely a bit difficult to adapt for guests from other countries. Indeed the hotel is about one hour driving from the sea.
Hotel's restaurant with nice employees and good food. Remote, quiet and beautiful location. Big Swimming-pool Hotel owners don't speak English at all and therefore are not very communicative. Restaurant employees make up for it. Overall a bit expensive though
Relaxing and good None
Very relaxing, quiet, convenient for Saturnia spa, nice pool, nice room and reasonable price for the area. Unfortunately could only stay one night,so didn't get the chance to eat at the hotel.
The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly The standard double room shown at the photo, is far better than the one we have been given. Also the pool was empty although it was a pretty hot day, and all other hotels we've stayed at, during the same period, had their pools in full operation
Charming family-run relais located in the heart of Tuscany. Ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet in the countryside. We arrived one day in advance and luckily they had a room for us. Since it's family-run they might sometimes find it difficult to accommodate guests requests especially last-minute requests or changes especially regarding the restaurant which you need to book in advance for.
We stayed at Quercia Rossa for a short honeymoon, and returned home very happy with our choice. The room we stayed in was excellent, with a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. Careful attention to detail shows all over the place, from the well-kept lawn to the daily menu with the names of the guests attending dinner and antique furniture. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the nearby area. We hope to return! Although the food was good, plentiful and obviously made with care, the meals got a bit repetitive after a few days. The first evening was wonderful, however, so it's a very minor complaint.
Everything:room, service, surroundings.
The facility and management were excellent. A wonderful place. I highly recommend it to all. The food is also excellent. This place is in a gorgeous setting, close to quaint small towns, and very private. No.
The location is very rural and at least 5k up a dirt track but well worth it once you reach the property. The views are amazing and the pool area fantastic and very relaxing. You can have evening meal at the propery which is home made and was the best food we had during our holiday, it is quite expensive at 30 euro each but does include wine, desert and coffee and I would certainly recommend it for your first night at least as it was a lovely experience. We loved this area of Tuscany and would return to this property given the opportunty.
The wonderful view, specially at sunset. Very good breakfast even if leak of hot milk. the road to reach it is very bumpy. Walkings are not possible, paths do not exist. The room was made up but not cleaned. the sink stone is unusual. The attic in the violet room is not liveable and the steps to reach it are quite dangerous (no protection).
Rooms were big and comfortable, views were amazing shower didn't have a bracket to hold up the shower head, the entrance road could do with some improvements
Absolutely gorgeous views, authentic Tuscan style home and grounds, friendly and accomodating owners & staff. The food was excellent and locally obtained. None
An absolute gem: the hotel surroundings are absolutely magnificent, the hotel itself, a typical country house converted into eco hotel, is very comfortable. Spacious country-design room, delicious and abundant breakfast, great dinner based on home grown / locally produced / biological food at at the right price (eur 30 including Morelino wine). Even ready for gluten free menu (we requested before arrival). Convenient for visiting Pitigliano, Capalbio, Saturnia and Argentario. That's what we were looking for: a relaxing stay, a few days escape, a charming place
The most beautiful setting, helpful staff and wonderful food made this one of the best places we have ever stayed at in over 40 years
Manciano where the hotel is located is the perfect place for a 3 days stay in the Marrema. That hotel offers a basic service with an unforgettable breakfast, made with typical cheese, cold meats and cakes. Unfortunately, the welcome was very poor. We arrived at the hotel after a long trip, the man seated at the reception desk was filling some document, didn't speak any word of english and made us wait during 15 minutes..
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely surroundings and good pool area. Internet access. High standard of food and good breakfast selection. No daytime pool drinks or snack service available during second half of our stay (1st week Sept). Delicious fruit salad at breakfast seemed to stop after our second day. Our first room was dark and had very limited drawer space, but the hotel kindly moved us to to another superior room which was bright, excellent and made all the difference to our enjoyment..
peace and quite
Very nice hotel surrounded by vineyards and a beautiful, large garden with a great variety of threes and flowers. Nice pool area. very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant; the green homemade ravioli is alone worth killing for!
Mostly we enjoyed our hike around the vineyards and up to Montemerano. We were there at the end of October and wished that we had been told ahead of time that it was off season at the hotel. The pool, spa, restaurant were all closed.
During the past 41 years we have visited every region in Italy and stayed at some of the best hotels. Relais Villa Acquaviva now resides in our Pantheon of favorite hotels in the world. The setting in the Italian countryside is superb...you feel one with nature. The entire complex is thoughtfully integrated into the land and the rooms (we had three...one for ourselves, ages 71; our daughter and son-in-law; and two granddaughters, ages 12 and 14)are beautifully done with every amenity possible. The pool and tennis court are both top notch. We ate both nights at the hotel and the meals were, by every measure, gourmet. Our only regret: We only stayed for two nights, which we will remedy next year. thank you fabrizio! We only stayed two nights! There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that one week is more appropriate!
My room was excellent (for one person) and breakfast was outstanding, particularly the wide choice including scrambled egg, cereals, croissants, toast, fresh bread, jams, honey, fruit and delicious freshly baked cakes. To eat well at the restaurant ie 3/4 courses costs 45 euros or more and wines (all from their own vineyards) range from 14 euros upwards. (We had just 2 courses from a la carte - ample - for around 25 - 35 euros plus coffee). Lovely location surrounded by their own vineyards, olive groves and attractive garden. Nice swimming pool. Lighting in the restaurant was a bit dim for us oldies!
