What are the pros of staying at Ibis Budget Marseille Timone?
The staff is very friendly! The location is good, and staff are nice! Nice and clean with good price. Comfortable and pretty cheap for 3 people. It was clean. A very good hotel for its price. Simple. Gets the job done. A last minute booking, accommodated us fairly late in the evening. Room was clean and functional. Helpful reception staff. Proximity to metro, (10 min walk). Value for money. Very neat, tidy and clean. Hotel was very good in terms of budget and breakfast was ok. The property was in prime location so the accessibility was easy. Clean room, great shower, friendly staff.
What are the cons of staying at Ibis Budget Marseille Timone?
Hotel and room smelt of smoke. The air conditioning was leaking. Bathroom was very small. There is no hotel slippers. The unwelcoming customer service during check-in, the leak in the room and the overall state of the hotel. The receptionist was not very pleasant and there was a dead fly in the room. Bit expensive for the standard. Very noise in the hallway. The towels and sheets have a very strong scent. Dirty breakfast was cheap and nasty. The hotel is dirty, smells really bad. The bathroom is broken and the toilet is terrible. Small is different. It is smallest I’ve ever seen room. WC is worse. Water smells bad. Room is too small, not clean, smell not good. Breakfast is too simple. Toilet and bath is not clean. Hotel itself is too compact. Lack of privacy (if not with family), but we loved it (creative use of space). This area seemed very unsafe. You save money on the room but at the end of the day it may cost you even more, if you get robbed. Also, hotel reception did not provide me a company invoice, so if you are traveling for work be aware of this. Everyday at 9 in the morning, my door was rudely knocked at. I didn’t like that. All the towels were put on the floor on the corridor which wasn’t clean at all. I know most people in Europe don’t mind throwing towels on the floor (in fact, hotels ask us to do so), keeping their shoed feet everywhere including on the bed etc., but seeing all the towels on the corridor made me not want to use hotel towels at all in future. Bathroom was not comfortable. It was not easy to get a shower if someone was in the room. And also breakfast was poor. Small room. The neighbourhood was not very pleasant. Wi-Fi connection was rather poor. The room smelled like a cigarette. Toilet door was unclosable and kept opening. Shower hose was leaking. No real complaints. Towels were of poor quality and terrible mattress. Three-sleeper room is very small. The room and the bathroom are quite small. There is not really any storage space. Maintenance is poor. No space for clothes, they should have at least some drawers under the bed. Toilet bit small. Bathroom is not really a room, shower and wc are in separated boxes and the sink is in the room, but it's ok considering the price. The hotel smells bad, of cigarettes and other odors. The toilet was awful, I could not even close the door properly, it had holes in the door and it the beds were two singles put together when I asked for a double. The rooms were very very small. To hike up such rooms price is really not worth it - even that did not include breakfast. It is basically a room for 1 person to stay, not 3. Hostel Dorms are much better. Shower holder was broken. Not walkable from port and train station (it takes 30 mins walk) but easily reachable by public transport. The wifi didn’t work and the toilet door didn’t close.
