Hotel was clean and nice. The star rating seemed a little low in my opinion. When people were in the room above me it was very noisey. You could hear people walking around very easily it was very distracting and annoying.
Basic room in top-rated hotel was clean and quiet, but air conditioner control was wonky. Ice maker was at a distance down the hall, and mini-fridge is not standard. No bathtub. Free breakfast not impressive, but you get what you pay for. Staying somewhere else next time.
The best hotel in Marshalltown. The driveway entrance is hard to find. That is because of the strange thinking of the Marshalltown Chamber of Commerence and the other powers that be. My husband and I have stayed at the Hampton Inn in other areas and have never gone wrong. We have traveled Europe and stayed in some real nice Hotels. The staff at Hampton Inns are just as friendly and helpful as some five star Hotels.
It was just very nice It wasn't marked very well, small sign
LOCATION It was a very expencive price and the rooms were no better than a motel 6. NO FRIGE OR MICROWAVE. Could not even get my state employee discount or AAA OR AARP DISCOUNTS Will proble never stay in one again.
Great staff and very clean property.
Everything was very nice, great rooms, great food, great common area ,clean pool and coffee available :). The staff are helpful and curteous. It was somewhat hard to find the street that goes to the hotel, there is a very small sign(hard to see from the main road)
The breakfast area was really nice The rooms were not nearly as nice as was advertised.
The staff was amazing. They were so friendly. I had a handicapped person with e and they were so accommodating.
I travel alot, and I stay at all the different Hilton Brand hotels, the Hampton Inn and Suites in Marshalltown was BY FAR THE BEST I have stayed at yet. The rooms were immaculate, halls and the visitor area were awsome. The housekeeping staff was top notch, I was having trouble with my key and luggage and one of the staff there helped me with my luggage and even went and got me new keys for my room with out even having to be asked. I would come back to Marshalltown just to stay at that hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The breakfast was good. We stayed while they were changing out all the mattresses, and they were EVERYWHERE. Combined with the cleaning carts that never seemed to be put away, one could hardly walk down the hallway. The mattresses were also piled in the swimming pool area, and as a result, I did not take my small children swimming. In the room, the TV remote didn't work.
The location. The tub did not drain and I finished my shower standing in about 3 inches of water. The sink did not drain well either.
Great Location, and it was very, very clean! We really appreciated having a communal computer that we could log into. The mattress on the bed (Room 105) was uncomfortably hard...it was not a restful night.
Location and price We had a smoke detector waking us up to an extremely high decibal siren going off randomly through the night. It's hard wired and it was obviously malfunctioning. Nothing was done while we were lied to about why it was happening. No sleep at all.
Nice room, friendly staff and hot breakfast. Nope
The staff was very friendly. Toilets blocked in 2 rooms; even toilet in conference room had turds in it. Free wi-fi pathetic (2Mbps); logon process tortuous. Even desk clerk said that she has trouble with it and just keeps trying over and over (and over). Smokers shirtless/barefoot.
It was near family. Its under new mgmt. which there is no gym.The old hotel owners had a deal with a gym in town. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi was freezing(room & water)with temps about 50-60 it may as well be outside with an overhead cover. If under new mgmt its not worth it!
Staff are very friendly and helpful. This is my preferred hotel when I come to Marshalltown. Have stayed here 4 times in the past 6 months and have had no problems.
Close to where I was visiting in Marshalltown, IA NO elevator, plus they have been remodeling, but they need to complete an entire room once it's been started. The wall behind the vanity mirror had previous glue spots still visible, the Kleenex holder in the wall is rusty, gross looking.
Bed was very comfy I was quoted one price for my room then charged more. I asked for my charge to be the first price quoted still waiting to be rembursed.Contential breakfast was ridiculous.
The room was large and location was great. Housekeeping was horrible. They would knock on the door an expect you to get them dirty towels and hang up the new ones. I had to change my own trash and walk it to their trash bins down the hall. Out of a week stay, my bedding was changed once.
Breakfast was decent. The room carpets were a little 'sticky' and there were cobwebs around the ceiling. Also the wallpaper in the bathroom was wavy from the moisture
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Marshalltown Comfort Inn. The lobby was inviting, very clean, in fact, all that we saw was well kept & clean. The kids really enjoyed the pool. There have been some hotels with indoor pools that we've stayed at, where you could smell the chlorine as soon as you got near it - this was not the case here! The room was really nice, a good size, comfortable beds, clean bathroom (no mold or mildew). The breakfast room was well kept and clean. There was someone monitoring it constantly, cleaning tables, mixing more waffle batter in batches so it never was always fresh, well stocked. I would definitely stay here again!
very neat and clean

We have stayed here on three different occasions. The most recent stay was the best. We had booked two rooms at another nearby hotel. When we arrived there, (after driving seven hours through a blizzard) they did not have the rooms that we had reserved even though we called ahead to tell them we would be delayed because of the weather. They suggested we try this hotel. Despite the blizzard, the hotel had two non-smoking rooms that were spacious, clean and equipped with a mini-refrigerator, microwave oven, hair dryer, Cable TV, two queen-sized beds, and plenty of room for the dog kennel. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with a nice variety of food choices. The staff was friendly. The pool was warm, clean and inviting. They quickly removed the 11+ inches of snow from the sidewalks and parking lot. After being turned away by the hotel up the road in the dead of the night, it was nice to find a place that was welcoming, inviting and comfortable. When we were reminded by family members that they had recommended this hotel during our previous visits, we decided that all future visits to Marshalltown would include a reservation here. It may not be the cheapest, but it is the most consistent, dependable and customer friendly choice in the area.
nice spacious room, nice swimming pool. Quiet evening. It was very nice of the staff member to give us an accessible room when they saw Mom (who is 88 and has Parkinsons). I prefer rooms with a sink that is separate -- in the bedroom area -- from the toilet and shower.
Very clean and quiet. Staff very friendly. No
