Lovely garden setting Desk staff excellent and helpful Also breakfast waiter very good and helpful Balcony was abit dirty. Rooms had not been cleaned when we checked in we went to dirty sheets etc and had to ask the desk to ensure sheets changed, rooms cleaned etc. Not enough outside seats to have a drink, read etc
We liked the space ie. reception downstairs, bar area outside, garden, parking. We liked the decor and the music played in the evenings and mornings and we liked the breakfast because of the choice of food and the service at breakfast was very good. We liked the swimming pool and the garden outside. We liked the reception and the fact that we felt almost like at home. The swimming pool but specially the tiled area around it was not kept clean enough and our feet got black very quickly just walking around the swimming pool barefoot. Also there was a lot of mosquitoes at the swimming pool and the outside areas (for breakfast and dining al fresco) and I suspect this is because the grounds should be sprayed regularly with insecticide and the garden kept very tidy. Also there is a little pool for light effects in the evenings and the water should be cleaned regularly to avoid being a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Some of the staff did not speak English at all and sometimes the bar service was much too slow and inappropriate.
The breakfast was excellent. The staff were attentive and sweet. The weather made it impossible to use the excellent pool facilities which was a shame. It looked great. The rooms at the hotel are very small. Our American guests particularly found them to be too cosy and not what they would expect from a Relais. There was a wedding party below our room that went on with loud music but to be fair it did end at about 9 at night. My headache however had started in the afternoon. It is surprising for a hotel of this calabre to have rooms that are so affected by the noise of a function.
Overall, very nice, very relaxing. Some staff spoke English reasonably well. Spa personnel do not. Although bikes are available, know where you want to go or be comfortable with just wandering the countryside. (What we did, was fine, take a camera!) Recommended routes were not available, and bikes were ridable but not well maintained. If you're an English speaker and want a treatment, print out and bring the list with you. As of Sep 09, it was not pre-printed in English at the hotel, though the Front Desk could print it for you off the web-site. The small fitness room is located in the Spa. Front desk can let you in after Spa hours. Despite the few shortcomings, setting, food and ambiance are wonderful! Would definitely come back.
A delightful hotel with excellent staff. We had a wonderful stay.
The service was good - everything in my room worked and the breakfast was excellent. If you had a car this would be a great place to stay. I did not have time to use all the amenities. I see folks had complained about the pool being green. I believe that the green color of the pool is related to the tile color and not the water quality. I found the pool water clear and certainly clean and warm enough for me to swim in mid-May. It is a 40 minute walk from the nearest town (Martina Franca) and so if you do not have a car it is a pretty long walk to the town. The sidewalks are non-existent for some of this distance and in pretty prro shape the rest of the distance. The traffic moving fast so you feel pretty exposed - especially at night. That said if you had a car it is a short (5 min) drive into town.
The staff were fabulous. The Restaurant was also first class. No complaints. We stayed at 4 5 hotels in Puglia and this was the friendliest and most efficient by far.
The staff were excellent. The food exquisite and the wine list long and varied. Breakfast was an absolute pleasure. The rooms were beautiful. English speakinf staff were available. I cannot say anything poor of this hotel.
relaxing, good food and the atmosphere is perfect. hard to find
Stayed 2 nights in August 2010 for an average of 120€/night breakfast included. Very nice modern hotel ideally located near Martina Franca in the heart of the Trulli valley. Standard rooms are clean and spacious with a queen bed, a small desk area, 3 large closets, a rather small bathroom with shower. Bar fridge & sat tv. Sat wifi on request 6€/h. Facilities include a bar, a very nice restaurant with local specialties, a large swimming pool, a fitness room with Technogym gear, and a spa center. The staff are extremely helpful and speak good English. Just a comment: add mirrors in the fitness room. Thanks
Clean rooms, relaxing atmosphere Breakfast dinks from a coffee machine. A real coffee machine was availaible in the bar.
Excellent room and facilities. Finding the hotel was not easy. Very few signs and they were small, so if you are driving at any speed at all you can easily miss them.
Dinner and Dinner Service - staff and food was exceptional. Highly recommended if you enjoy good food. Breakfast staff were not accomodating and food service varied depending on number of guests staying in hotel. More variety of food was available when more people were staying. Breakfast was not the same quality or quantity each day.
Comparing with the 4 star hotel I booked in Ostuni and Rome, I am wondering why this hotel can be a 4 stars. the facilities, room, breakfast, staff.....If you don't have a car, never come here. Their info.on booking.com is miss leading. Actually I book the hotel though it is in the center of Trulli in Alberobello. But I took another two stops of the train and spend 25 Euro to take a taxi to reach the far away hotel. actually they are nothing to do with trulli except the 3 manmade trulli as a canteen. The staff their are all the time telling something missleading. Like"we will pick you up at the realway station" then to call me a taxi. "You can not find trulli in walking distance even in Alberobello" actually it is just 10 minutes walking distance from the Alberobello station to trulli area! Only one associate told me the truth the next day that I can take a bus out, thanks him a lot! otherwise I need to spend another 30 euros
is the ideal destination for a relaxing holiday between nature and quiete. excellent restaurant and breakfast. none
The hotel had beautiful grounds and wonderful facilities! The rooms were clean and every part of the hotel seemed very well kept. Also a beautiful location. The rooms seemed a bit plane compared to the rest of the hotel. While the rooms weren't lacking in any way, there were also no luxuries or extras in the room.
The staff was extremely friendly, we choose the hotel for its central position between several interesting places to visit. Food was very good and not axpensive. Not really a complaint, the swimming pools was not yet ready (by now it should be).
Beautiful layout of hotel and grounds Attractive restaurant No outdoor pool, indoor pool very cold Poor breakfast Room furnishings quite basic
Very nice buildings arrangement combining modern comfort and typical style from Puglia, quiet location, excellent service, very nice swimming pool and great idea to have bicycles at disposal to visit the many trulli in the country side. Excellent food. Just one thing I would have liked to see more : fish and sea food specialties proposed on the menus.
After 6 nights of a 11 night booking we checked out as 2 mornings there was no hot water for showers and one morning we were offered one croissant between the two of us for breakfast! The breakfasts had very little to offer in comparison to other local hotels we have stayed at. We would not recommend a stay at this hotel. Also there was not a clear sign to the entrance door of the hotel.
The people were very nice and helpful. There was nothing I disliked about the place.
Quite, still very close to Martina Franca Hot water was not available 24 hours.
Nice rooms, Very clean and good value for money. Nice Centre to visit It was a little too far out of the centre to walk. There is no restaurant for evening meals and the one next door is closed on Mondays.
Very quiet, nice design, you pay for what you get Room a bit dirty
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were dissapointed that hotel scaled down facilites off season (Mid September). None of the pools were in operation, indoor was empty and outdoor was green and unusable. The five restaurants advertised was a joke, as only the breakfast room was open until 10am, and next door hotel Elba was open sporadically some evenings and some lunchtimes. Saying that food was excellent.
The attentiveness of the staff was excellent. I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel on all my business trips to Martina Franca.
The hotel is clean. It takes 20 minutes to get to Taranto. The breakfast is poor.
The hotel was a joy to stay in and the standard of the room and the friendliness of the staff was exemplary. The location in Piazza Della Rotonda could not have been better and I would not hesitate to return. Only minor issues but more plug sockets were needed, more attention to replacing daily things like shampoos and conditioners. The one please would be to support the poor guy (Michel) who runs the rooftop bar. This is a major asset for the hotel which it does not make full use of
Location near the town. I liked that it was on the edge of town, provided me the chance to walk around the area.
Casabella is a wonderful private estate, with swimming and tennis on the grounds, whose generous owner/operator is a professor of law. He was so kind to us on our three night stay, driving us into town, though the walk is only about 20 minutes from the historical center of Martina Franca, what proved to be perhaps the loveliest small town we had ever seen. The grounds are immaculately groomed. The historical buildings are lovingly and perfectly restored and modernized. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Wireless internet was free and fast. The common areas of the hotel were spectacularly decorated and maintained. It was a particular pleasure to play the new piano in the main dining area. The shower head broke on the last morning and I had to hold it in my hand.
Beautifull hotel, excellent design, very rustic but luxurious. Convenient parking. Excellent garden with swimming pool. Nobody in hotel knows any word in English.
The owner was very friendly and helpfull, the room was very nice and so was the garden. The owner drive us to Martine Franca to the restaurant and brought us back because in Martine Franca it is very difficult to drive and park the car. We booked half board via booking.com. It was not possible (not enough people)So each evening we had to go to Martina Franca where it is impossible to park the car. It is not a few minutes walk from the historic centre (10 minutes by car) as mentioned on booking.com information
It is very convenient for the people who are planning a trip to Pulia especially for Alberobello, Zoo Safari and around. The hotel is very new equipped and has really very cosy atmosphere. Even though owners can't speak english, actually it is not a problem since they are very nice and sincere people. Last thing, it is very clean which is very important for me since I am travelling with my son.
The accommodation was spotless and the pool was excellent. There was no information provided on any of the room facilities so it was necessary to ask about everything in order to get help. In some cases this was quite inconvenient.
Very friendly owners who made us feel really welcome and almost part of their family. Fantastic breakfasts, all freshly prepared and largely using their own produce. comfortable room and loads of outside space including lovely swimming pool warmed almost all day by the sun. Apart from a small fridge there was no facility for storing or preparing food. Having said that, the breakfast provided is so extensive that there was little call for any more food before the evening!
The breakfasts, the pool, Anna and Celestino. Did I mention the breakfasts?
The cordiality and hospitality of the hosts; the very special setting; the large and most beautiful swimming-pool; the calmness of the place; the very good price/service ratio.
The graciousness of the hosts was marked, and they took every effort to help us enjoy our visit. They are kind and thoughtful. The location is hard to find as the access roads are very small, but the owners are happy to guide visitors by telephone if needed.
It was an excellent and comfortable stay at the masseria; very friendly owner, good biological and natural food produced and prepared by the owner, big and nice apartments with beautiful furniture, silent environment and no pollution of the area; it was a great peasure to stay at this unique farmhouse with its wonderful atmosphere created by Anna & Crescenzio; we felt very much at home. everything was very fine
The breakfast was delicious and Anna, the owner, served it in a way that make us feel very special.
Anna and Crescenzio are lovely hosts, dedicated to service and ensuring the guests enjoy their stay. We were very sad to leave after a week at the Masseria. It was very relaxed and our 2 year old felt comfortable and there was plenty to do.
Excellent staff who helped with everything we asked about. Fantastically clean accommodation and really pretty location.
Individuality of rooms spread throughout the old center. Excellent location. Large comfortable room, with big bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. Very friendly and helpful staff.
