The train to the beach.
Good children's facilities and entertainment, rooms Airconditioned, generally relaxed atmosphere Limited parking in the hotel and surrounding areas, long walk to the beach
ease of use starting to look old
Animacion team activities (expecialy mini disco for children) Breakfast
The breakfast buffet was huge and diverse, all pretty good except for the coffee. Many things I did not like about this hotel. I was assigned a room with a broken air conditioned (turned out the battery for the remote needed changing), broken fridge and an all-around musty old fell and smell. Perhaps it needs renovating? this is most definitely not a 4-star hotel. Not even a 3-star.
Nothing Everything, the food, the bed, the noise, the bathroom was falling a part, there was holes in floor all the down the hall way a security risk, only one person in the hotel spoke english and he was not available at all times, and so on......
Near to beach.
We loved everything about the hotel, food was good rooms were clean, excellent pool, right beside the beach! Had to wait an hour in queue to check in but I don't blame the hotel it was 2pm so it was check in time and I guess everyone wanted to get to the pool and beach asap so everyone arrived early but the staff coped with it as quick as they could!
Pretty surroundings and garden, flowers V poor and expensive breakfast. Dark and slightly smelly room. Shower not working properly (the base flooded). Claims to be a hotel but is in fact a pure B&B.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was delightful and, unusually, the towels were changed daily. The hotel could not be faulted in any way. We will certainly visit again.
friendly staff, very clean room, great location like almost every place we have ever stayed in Spain - no double bed.
a quiet paradise with a loveley garden and a very friendly and personal staff. Thanks for making us feel at home.
Friendly, helpful staff; 3-minute walking distance to tapas bars and restaurants; attractive rooms and grounds.
Nice room and clean
Conveniently near the Donana National Park Lack of parking
Beautiful garden and a small hotel. Nice pool. The room was beautiful. The personal couldn´t speak english and no information in english.
We had ground floor rooms leading from a pretty patio with two chairs and a small table. This was particularly good as one of our party is disabled. The gardens surrounding the hotel and rooms were very pretty. Breakfast, which was an extra, was excellent, a buffet with plenty to chose from.
Excellent room, friendly and helpful owner who pointed us in the direction of local non touristy activities... Including flamenco at two in the morning. Awesome nature stuff.
Modern facilities in a fabulous setting
Good room. Very friendly and helpful (English speaking) manager. Just 15 minutes drive to the beach at Matalascanas.
In the outskirts of the strange town Rocio (10 mins walk to the center). Clean and very nice hotel. Good service and a very friendly staff. Good breakfirst.
Very welcoming and clean rooms. Bathroom well equipped and bed very comfortable. Easy parking and quick access to main road for beach or nature tour.
Very friendly staff, good restaurant. We had booked 4 months ahead for a lake view room, but did not get it.
Located on the edge of town very close by the Donana and the flamingo's. Location and cleanliness of the rooms is the best part of this hotel. Rather expensive for the accomodation provided but the location is worth the upcharge.
Ideal location in a unique area. Staff friendly and helpful.Overlooks the lake teeming with birds.
Third time we've stayed there - superb location for bidwatching and wildlife. Comfortable rooms, mostly with superb views. Great restaurant with excellent service and great food. Upon arrival found we had been allocated to a twin, rather than the requested double room, which must be one of the only rooms with no view - facing onto a courtyard which is a building site at present. However, we were fairly quickly re-assigned to a super double room on the top floor with all the view we could have wished for. Surprised that the hotel had such a grotty room!
The location is perfect, overlooking the lagoon. You can bird watch from your bedroom. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is not much choice of food at breakfast.
Excellent location especially for nature lovers. Good authentic food with good service throughout and in outside bar area. Atmospheric location Breakfast would be better served in main restaurant rather than round the bar area. Could do with more tourist information on show/available Asked for a double but got twin - not sure how many double rooms they have?
Staying at the hotel Toruno in the unique village of El Rocio was a delight. The hotel itself is charming but without many frills. Our room overlooked the lagoon which was filled with flamingoes when we woke in the morning. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke some English. The location of the hotel is stunning
The fine hotel El Toruno lies in beautiful and romantic El Rocio, right out to the birdrich Donana marshes. Very nice decoration and fantastic meals in the restaurant. Breakfast should be possible in the part of the restaurant with panoramic views over the marshes. This was not the case in our stay.
The location was excellent. near the park and town but far away from the noise. We did not see the notice about open windows and the problem with mosquitos. Perhaps it could be displayed in a more prominent position.
Very friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
Atmosphere. El Rocio ia a unique place.
Lovely hotel with charming hosts.
Nicely decorated rooms, very close Donana National Park, 15km only to the ocean. Helpful and English-speaking owners of the hotel. The rooms are quite cold so in the autumn/winter they need some heating, especially when you are out of the shower and also during the night. There is a ventilator you can turn on but impossible to leave it running for the night as it's quite noisy. As a consequence you wake up with cold ears...
The lady that ran the hotel was very welcoming and friendly and helped us with a serious issue that we had encountered. The hotel was situated in the Donana National Park and was a stones throw away from a large lake full of exotic birds and a short drive from the main park and not too far from the beach. The town itself was set up like a wild west town with sandy streets and all the properties had posts for tethering the horses. There was a good selection of bars and restaurants. Although the hotel had some charm it was rather dated and was only a 2 star and not 3 as we had been notified. The breakfast was ok but only consisted of cereals and ham and cheese. The bed was quite small and rather uncomfortable
The Town El Roico is like straight out of a Wild West movie. If going to Donana don't miss El Rocio, an experience. The hotel was also a very pleasant surprise, classy, beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms in the centre of town. A nice dining room and parking outside the front door (no charge).
Online booking was easy and I was able to make a change to the dates with no problem. Very comfortable rooms, staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable, excellent location. We had dinner in the hotel 2 nights and found the food excellent. Due to to nature of the streets of El Rocio sand gets into the rooms; if a dustpan and brush/broom were provided guests could sweep up the sand tracked in on their shoes. Noise from other guests was a little disruptive at night.
We enjoyed the location, the very elaborate information the manager gave us. She knew to give us nice walks in the Sierra de Aracena as well as in their neighbourhood and the town Seville. Very friendly staff. Acces of Wifi in our room. If you would like to enjoy the peace of the place, check beforehand if there are brotherhoods visiting el Rocio on your weekend out. We experienced that at Saterdaynight they beat drums and play flute in the vicinity of the hotel until 2.00 in the morning.
Could not be better None
This little hotel is in a wonderful position, especially for birdwatchers, right beside the marsh in the quirky little town of El Rocio. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and there is easy, free parking right outside the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are all friendly - the owner speaks flawless English and is knowledgeable about local wildlife. We stayed in the suite which directly overlooks the marsh and is a huge and comfortable room. We were sorry to leave and would gladly go again and recommend the place to others looking for a quiet spot. The cold breakfast buffet was not particularly exciting but 'did what it said on the label'.
Friendly people, nice place. None
The accommdation was quiet (despite it being close to the main road to Metalascanas), comfortable and spacious. It was easy to get to and well located for the local beaches and national park, the church of El Rocio is just across the road, close enough to get to easily but far enough away from the crowds that visit not to impinge on the ambience of the hotel. The children loved the swimming pool which was well maintained with a lifeguard always in attendance, Nice place to stay and a good centre for visiting the local area. The local resturarant is mixed for breakfast but good at other times, there are many other good places to eat offering good value within walking distance. We enjoyed the stay. Hotel reception staff were mixed ranging from excellent to poor, we had a small problem with hot water which took too long to fix despite being reported to the maids and reception. Eventually a receptionist fixed it at 11pm. I speak some Spanish so no problem for me but but non of the staff appear to have any English which could be difficult.
size of apartment too much like a travel lodge
Instead of a room there were two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room so that it was more like a suite. It was furnished with traditional pieces, but still had TV and refrigerator. I loved the two rocking chairs which we moved onto the little patio at the front. The hotel is gradually being added to, so there are some building works hidden behind fencing. The reception, restaurant and other facilities are beautifully decorated with antique and traditional furnishings. The restaurant food was fairly basic, but we had difficulty ordering as the menu was only in Spanish and the waiter had English that was as limited as our Spanish. So it may well have been that we could have had something more satisfying if we could read the menu. (However, this was not the only place in Spain where this was an issue.)
The room decor is lovely and the layout spacious.
Access to the surrounding area , especially Donana . Excellent receptionist , unfortunately I do not recall his name . Limited and insecure parking
