Just completely incompetent girls working there. Totally stupid. I told a girl working there I was flying out, asked if I could leave a bag until I came back, described it, pointed to where I was leaving it, and came back 4 days later and they had thrown it away. The girl working when I returned was equally completely stupid, avoiding the issue and making excuses with no resolution. Avoid this dumpster fire with terrible careless staff.
Bunk beds were really shaky the whole night, bathrooms were small. They also assigned me a bed and then changed it again as a guy already had his stuff on it and went complaining to the reception after he saw me on the bed... not cool to kick me out when he was the one taking another bed than assigned to him...
There is nothing that I like. Firstly, there were bed bugs all over the premises. After spending more than 10 hours travelling from Cartagena I was looking for a comfortable bed to put my tired head to rest. However, I was bitten badly by bed bugs. After asking around I found that the lady from another room was also bitten and she was offered alcoholic drinks by the owner to compensate, but she did not take alcoholic drinks so she ended up accepting a bottle of water. In the middle of the night when I complained to the young man, who was working in the bar, he offered me another room with the bunk bed high up, but I told him that I had weak legs and could not climb. So he offered me another room with the bed at the bottom. The next morning in conversation with the young man who was sharing the room with me told me that he, too, was bitten by bed bugs. Secondly, the breakfast was tiny and there was only coffee and a few spoonfuls of cereal with yogurt. There was no other drink. Thirdly, there was no hot water. I was rather disappointed after having a great time in El Viajero in Cartagena.
All, as above.
One of the employees was really kind
A loud fan right in front of our room
This hostel is awesome value for money. Breakfast is even included in the price! The owner is an English guy who goes out of his way to help you and has tons of information about the area. The day manager is also excellent and will help with anything you need. The hostel is in a great location just off the main street in El Poblado so it is quiet, but only a 2 minute walk from the main area of bars and restaurants. Safe to walk to at anytime of the day or night.
Nothing, all was perfect.
