It was close to where I had a business appointment. The prices of beer at the bar are excessive.
Relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was spot on. confusing to find as you enter through what looks like gates to an industrial estate, until you buzz in and get a grumpy security guard.
Easy booking, efficient service, well-appointed room, good food, easy access to the university, great value for money. It would be helpful to supply face flannels; lack of a proper shower cubicle or glass/perspex shower section that keeps the floor dry; breakfast finishes perhaps an hour too early on weekends.
Friendly, efficient staff. Reception staff recognised me from my previous visit.
Hotel and staff very welcoming
Excellent value and the room was lovely. The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. It was also very quiet and I had a lovely nights rest. I did struggle a bit with the shower rose as it seemed a bit heavy. I got there in the end
The reception manager was absolutely superb.
Pleasant staff good food and ease of service no
The location was good, security was good, car parking was good. Comfortable, good spa - good facilities. Nice hotel with lots of relax areas to sit. Rooms well equipped - would stay here again if business or leisure takes me to this part of the country again. Only niggle was that room service for evening meal did not start until 7pm Room service times and choices.
Clean tidy smart rooms. The Lodge rooms are not value for money for what they. The bar prices are very expensive.
very much indeed. the staff where very atentive and the setting realy is special the Table de ote menu was fixed price at £46, 50% 0f the items on each course carried a suppliment of up to £9.50p this is unacceptable4
I realy like it ! Its all worth it !
This hotel is highly overated. The food was very average and the breakfast was very poorly organised. Cold plates and not enough food on the hot buffet. They bought fried eggs out after we had finished eating.Bathrooms need updating -very poor shower. All this for 210.00 a night!
Hotel staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to make our stay an excellent one. Facilities and equipment were really good and catered for young children especially well. The room and hotel in general were spotless. Active hotels booking procedure did not make it clear that the room I booked was not suitable for an extra bed for a child until after the booking was made. That being said the hotel staff resolved this issue in advance of arrival. The lights and the flush on the toilet in our room were a bit temperamental.
We were upgraded to a manor room for our anniverasary which was a lovely gesture, friendly staff & a great breakfast. Gym & pool were great & not overcrowded. £30.20 for 2 pre dinner drinks (not champagne) is outrageous, as is £50 for a manicure.
The building Internet did not work, not allowed to use the pool as aerobics session in place ( two hours prior to checkout ) , very stuffy room that needed airing, steam room very dangerous ( but had warning signs )
The meals, breakfast and diner, were good, well presented and served. The menu was limited but gave enough choice. Limited wine list and no draught beer!
rear of hotel has no security lighting or CCTV covering area and my car was robbed during the night
Friendly and helpful staff, nice food, very comfortable and spacious room, excellent price. No. I would definitely stay there again at this rate.
All round I was very pleased with my stay and I will use them again in the future if the need arises
Convenient location, close to town centre but a few minutes from countryside. Restaurant was quiet whilst we were there, but food excellent. Breakfast was good, could have done with some more tasty sausages, as Melton sees itself as a regional food centre, though they were pleasant enough. We would certainly stay again when in the area. The bed was a bit narrow and too soft for our taste.
nice bedroom with four poster bed .free internet was good as most hotels charge for this
The lady dealing with us at breakfast also dealt with everyone else and had to check us out. Although she did very well and was very efficient, I didn't help by messing up the card machine by taking out my card prematurely, the reason for my slight complaint is that in her efforts to keep everyone happy it was a feeling of being rushed when checking out almost to the point of feeling a little guilty for asking to check out whilst realising her busy situation. The one night stay was satisfactory although the temperature in my room was quite low and the shower pressure also low. Thankyou.
Friendliness of staff , polite and helpful. Cleanliness of roomwhich was very comfortable Considered my dinner to be very poor , although my husbands Indian meal was good.
Spacious, well-appointed room, very good food - both Indian and a la carte, friendly and helpful staff, ample car parking, convenient for town centre, lovely firm mattress just like at home Wine list adequate but would have liked a liitle more variety
Very old fashioned
Service was excellent and helpful; we were above a bar (very convenient) but were not kept awake by noise; there was an excellent Thia restaurant across the road; the breakfast room / restaurant was really nice; lots of parking behind hotel. The hotel rooms were a bit tired and could do with sprucing up
The breakfast was good and the waitress eager to please The shower was the worst i have ever used . unable to control the temperature, useful sign stating that as well !!!
Very clean freindly and helpful if traveling down to Melton would stop there again
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast Very steep staircase to second floor
+Pleasant enviroment and quality of service Minor but important health and safety issue -fixed shelf with kettle directly above TV and flex too short to reach electrical socket.Suggest relocate shelf or TV
Room was well equipped and staff were attentive,Hotel well positioned for shopping and rugby/football
Friday night deal - excellent value as always.
It was warm and comfortable on a very cold night, and the room had everything I needed. The tray with kettle, cups etc for hot drinks was in the wardrobe, which was not very obvious; and there was no convenient electrical point for the kettle.
Convenient location, efficient staff. Comfortable, everything worked as it should do. Breakfast; the smoked haddock and poached eggs were both overcooked!
quiet and basic no internal telephones were working during our stay, so hence no room service unless you went t reception expensive for a basic hotel, maybe they have put the price up for graduation week?
Very nice facility, in a good location, with staff ready to help. Ice buckets and an ice machine, please!
The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly.
the room was very compfy although the bathroom did have some stray hairs that belonged to neither me or my partner
Warm and welcoming public spaces. Excellent breakfast.
The room was wide and the bathroom as well. Excelent location in the city centre. The room was quite dusty and the carbet looked old.
Location in city centre - lots of interesting places to eat within the vicinity Size of the room - small
The staff were pleasant and the public rooms were very impressive. The noise from the function rooms disturbed us until 1am the first night, so we asked to be moved, which they did, for the second night.
The bed was the most comfortable i'd ever slept on, the room was modern, spotless, large. It felt very luxurious! Everything in my room appeared new, like a show-home, straight out of an interior design magazine.Excellent. Well i did have a room which overlooked Leicester's main street, but it was Saturday night and so i expected a degree of noise. By the time i got back in (3.30am) it had all but died down.
The staff were very pleasant and tried to help The room had no view -frosted windows- the lights were not working and faulty. It was basic.
Room pleasant and modern, staff efficient and helpful. Good location in centre of town. Convenient car park. The lift is small and always seemed to be full. This was annoying as most if the passengers had no luggage but we had to use the stairs with our luggage, despite trying to get in the the lift several times. Also, would like to have had a minibar in the room.
good central location
excellent central location
the location the hotel; typical ramada, 2 to 3 star trying to be a 4, my room felt like a childerns home / nursing home, bare, minimal. any other 4 star would be much much better.
The pool and leisure facilities Our room was very near to the pool house and the pump room was rather noisy
The staff were very friendly. And the facilities were very relaxing .
the draft drinks in the bar were awful. and there are no fridges in the
Very, very comfy beds and rooms. Reception and bar staff were very friendly. We didn't notice a lift!! No drinks in the rooms! We do like a night-cap.
The king size bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were soft. Reception staff unwelcoming; pool/spa facilities cramped (web page has a misleading picture); breakfast was a shambles because staffing level inadequate for number of guests (no table ready, then chairs missing - had to rectify this ourselves. Self-serve food was old, cold and looked very unappetising. Restaurant manager over-ruled a waiter who wanted to provide us with fresh plates of food by insisting we use the awful self-serve bar)
The bedroom was great. The bed was huge and very comfy. The food was good, and the staff was very welcoming. The general atmosphere was very nice.
Easy parking. The room was extrememly dusty, the waste bin had not been emptied from the previous guests. The expelair in the bathroom did not work. There were holes in the duvet cover. The room we booked was supposed to be 'Superior', but we were allocated a standard room. The cost on your site was the same for both types of room so we could do nothing about it. Also, the cleaner knocked to clean our room at 930am when we weren't mean to leave until midday!
Welcoming and friendly staff. Swimming pool very nice (and warm)
Beautiful bed and great service. N/A
It was in a location that was central for exploring that part of the U.K. Did not find the staff approachable or positive.
The facilities were great and the staff welcoming. Room was clean and well cleaned. Breakfast buffet was outstanding - consistently good and well stocked, again with attentive staff.
The decor and staff were memorable. Even a local power cut couldn't throw them off beat with complimentary hot drinks and snacks served in reception. Beds too soft for me but really I am struggling to find anything wrong
Very quiet place to live for a night with family. A little bit of smile at the reception would be very welcoming
Very comfortable rooms,friendly staff.
Clean, friendly, spaceous
Modern Hotel Hassle free parking staff helpful There was some social event in evening our room was right above it a bit noisy till 2 am
Pool & Room MIxx resturaunt
Luxurious bed, very good shower, excellent breakfast, very helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Room too hot even with air conditioning. No enough tea for two people to have two cups. Couldn't open fridge. Swimming pool not working.
The comfortable beds and the breakfast selection
the reception staff was very accomodating (gave late checkout easily) and friendly.
Upon arrival i was very impressed with the friendly welcome i received at the hotel reception. It is rare to see a family run hotel these days and i discovered during my stay that this establishment is family run and what a plesent stay i had! The personal touch they had really made a difference to my stay. This was my first visit to the Six Hills Hotel and i wil most definatly recommend it!
Staff were very helpfull, very clean and relaxing hotel. We could not smoke in our room.
Clean and good value. Close to a fast main road, some rooms could be disturbed by traffic.
Staff were lovely Corridors were very smelly, pat testing had ran out on electrical appliances.
The staff are very friendly and the room was okay. There was no heating in the bathroom. The water in the shower was very economical - it trickled out very slowly. The bed was very noisy. We had paid for full English Breakfast for the Sunday and were informed that it starts at 8 am. We were there for a business conference which started at 9 at the Pera Conference Centre and there were no members of staff any where near the breakfast area at 8. Breakfast was really very painful and we were late for our meeting. However, we are calm people and didn't complain but in future maybe they could be more organised for their guests.
Simplicity with service, response and good clear communications It was a pity that we couldnt get a glass of wine from the Night Porter.
The staff were very friendly and accomadating No
The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating to our requests during the weekend stay. A budget hotel certainly, but great value, benefitting from a rural location and blessed with a large, free car park. We slept well, and it was ideal for what we wanted.
Excellent breakfast at a very reasonable price
We had recently returned from getting married to spend the night celebrating with friends, who were attending the Northern Soul Allnighter. As we had had a long journey from Rome to London, we were pleased that we did not have to do any further travelling. The hotel itself was very pleasant as we had booked the Bridal Suite. We did not expect the height of luxury, however, we did not expect the water supply to be so bad. It took over an hour to fill the bath a quarter of the way and eventually, gave up to have a shower instead. As keen recyclists, we were disappointed to have had to waste the water and feel that this should be pointed out to your guests beforehand.
Met expectations. Decent value for money.
Not a lot Lack of decent restaurant & no bar facilities
would prefer facilities for a 'cooked breakfast' although the continental was very nice would feel car was more secure if there was a separate car park for days inn hotel
Great value for money. Excellent greeting at reception, room in very good condition, modern, wifi -- all exceeded expectation. It apperared my reservation wasn't on the system, but it transpired that my firstname & last name had been combined, which was why it couldnt be found initially
Very helpful and pleasant staff
it was small pokey smelly boring and cold!
big bathroom, nice beds
no proper restaurant in the area;
Cleanliness of the room and location. No food available at half ten at night.
The bed was comfortable. Window did not lock or close properly, The noise from the motorway was excessive.
the hotel and the fantastic location, cant wait to go back. no
Sadly the experience with poor quality expensive food and bad service in the restaurant coloured other aspects of the hotel The food is of very poor quality for the prices being charged. Service in the restaurant poor - beggars polite description. Very small room that would be inconvenient for a stay longer than a couple of nights - no area to relax in other than the bar that was small for the numbers even in November!
Excellent discounted tarriff, good breakfast, quiet room. I could not print my confirmation and reception had me booked in for the wrong night!(12th Nov.) However when I returned home and checked my confirmation it had the correct date the 11th. It was fortuitous that there was a room available
Not bad (See above remarks) The swimming pool was not open till late and also I found the going up the stairs to get a toweland also to book in at the desk was a bit of a bind.
The beautiful view from our room over Rutland Water, waking up to that view each morning made our day, and the staff who we had met previously and who made our stay perfect. Nothing to dislike.
Loved location views one the best English hotels I have stayed in especially for the star rating given. The bed was very uncomfomfortable you could feel the springs left me with an aching back.
Walked round Rutland Water and visited three local towns.
Location & views of Rutland Water
Lovely gardens beautifully kept with views over the water. Very good swimming pool available free to guests. Improved service in restaurant. No
The view of the lake and the friendly staff The bedding - one sheet and a blanket is not enough in November should have had a nice duvet. The hotel was in separate buildings - reception in one, bedroom in others, Restaurant in yet another.
Hotel was clean and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem I had was the coffee counter in the lobby. Tried to pay tab but the person manning the counter looked a little overwhelmed at the time due to what looked like being unfamiliar with equipment. Not even sure she paid the amount on the right tab because she was so stressed. But, that can happen in any job.
Spacious rooms, helpful courteous staff, clean and pleasant surroundings No fridge/ mini bar in the room. the swimming pool was advertised as open until 10.30 on weekdays but I was asked to get out of the pool at 10.05
Difficult to locate.
Hotel was easy to find, had a beautiful courtyard view and on site dining. No lift. Staff in the restaurant did a poor job of explaining meal options and tending to our table. Parking fee.
beds so comfy, room nice and clean, loads of lovely towels
The style of the hotel. Very nice and welcoming The distance I had to go to get into the city centre.
Comfortable, excellent gym facilities. Helpful/friendly bar/cafe personnel. Reception staff unhelpful when I pointed out that their bank machine was not working, and asked them to provide me with £ UK. Eventually exchanged my Euros, at a ridiculous rate. Also: tables in restaurant left uncleared in the evenings. Not pleasant eating surrounded by the remains left by earlier diners. More MacDonalds than Hilton!
Nice spacious, comfortable roon Being woken by handyman in next room at 7-730am, followed by the fire alarm gping off. At which no point were any staff on hand to explain what was going on, despite me waiting in the corridor for a member of staff.
Very helpful/cheerful staff. Location. Very expensive on all points I.e rooms rate, drinks & food. No free Wi Fi and tired room standards. Bathrooms have not been updated since the early 90's? At check out was charged the wrong rate twice?
Good pool/sauna bathroom a bit tired
The room was clean enough, the television worked. It was as I would have expected based on previous experience of Campanile. Noisy, not enough milk for hot drinks. Staff did not seem to speak very good English.
I loved the comfortable bed and the friendly bar area. I did not have enough milk & suger.
The layout of the hotel, an the staff been at your service when needed. Nope
Secure parking, price and location.
The location was better than we had anticipated, just a short walk to the main shopping area. We really just booked it for an overnight stay to break our long journey, but it turned out to be perfect for us.,
Location and staff. Lack of towels and pillows
Quick check-in,friendly, nice room. Good position for our function
the breakfast was too small to entice our party to have one. instead we enjoyed a big breakfast around the corner. a french owned hotel with the typical english values of not giving value for money.there is nothing worse than paying for a meal eating it then leaving hungry.although the hotel is dirty, it is not yet highly visible the problem needs to be arrested in its infancy. there was water staining on the ceiling in the bathroom and an orange substance in and around the shower head (i did not use the shower for this reason. the corner behind the bathroom door was dirty the floor had been cleaned but the insoluble dirt and hair was deposited here. there was a substance on the headboard that should have been cleaned off before our arrival but was missed there was some damage to the room ie iron burn on the carpet, chipped bath, door lock fitting. my overall view is that there is a lack of inspection with regards to the cleaning and the breakfast should be larger.for an hotel at this current standard £35-£38 per night would be more appropriate
Staff were helpful and generally friendly. Good facilities & safe parking I don't think the breakfast is worth the seperate price - we stayed in the Express Holiday Inn last year and although there was no cooked breakfast it was at least included with the room price which counts for a lot when you are already spending a lot of money on flights, rooms and other holiday expenses (eg eating out).
Comfortable and clean room. Apparently chaotic control of staff, the restaurant was supposed to be open until 2145, although my order was taken at 2135 I was subsequently advised that the chef was going home ! The bar was supposed to close at 0100, it closed at 2300 and as the night porter had not arrived there could be no service due to 'health and safety' reasons ? Not what I call an acceptable level of service !
friendly and helpfullness
Very good comfortable room Excellent continental Breakfast - facilities to eat in room comfortably if need be Would recomment room with a countryside view -we backed onto car park
The room was nice, clean and tidy, with a lovely balcony and view. We particularly liked the breakfast in the room (and contrary to the claims of previous reviewers, the cereal was definitely well within date - I think the earlier reviewers had perhaps confused the manufacture date with the expiry date as they are printed next to each other.) For what you pay, this is excellent value and a nice little place. It's true that some of the furnishings are looking a bit tired, but then what do you expect for the price? If you expect the Ritz, you have to pay for the Ritz.
Very friendly guest house
It was a very nicely furnished hotel, antique style, if you wanted contemporary then this would not suit you. I loved the old fashionedness. I quite liked the little kitchenette. There was no Full English Breakfast available.
The owners were very nice. Stunning views from the back of the guest house. The room was alittle dusty and some of the breakfast cerials in the room were out of date.
Peaceful - no fuss
very clean staff very helpful highly recommend!!
Lovely garden/vale views. Charming hosts. Only continental style breakfast available.....but basic cooking facilities were available in the room.
Very comfortable bed, friendly staff, great kitchen facilities, good value for money, direct room door very handy. Further away from Melton Mowbray town centre than I expected
Despite being very busy, the hotel rooms were quiet at night. Should be upfront that it costs £5 to park the car.
The frienlyness of the staff No
Easy to get to with adjacent undercover parking.Within walking distance of City Centre. There was no late bar facility on the night of our stay. The 2 rooms we booked had 1 double bed in each room and not twin beds as our online booking suggested and what we expected!
Good location for business meetings attended and was the purpose of the visit It would have been useful to have instructions on how to use the heating appliance in the room. The room was quite cool even though the heater was set at warmest setting, it still was not very warm
Good location, quiet and clean rooms
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff
Extremely noisy, woken at 4.00 a.m. by other guests. Hotel staff did not seem to do anything for at least an hour.
i was given a room with a one double bed whwn i asked for a twin room which was clearly stated on my booking form, when i queried this i was spoken to in a very rude way and had to show the receptionist the booking form which stated clearly what i had booked, she didnt apologise
Location, The Hotel, and breakfast.
Its proximity to the cultural quarter. It is a little on the noisy side, traffic and trains.
Train station anouncer
Conveniently located near to station and city centre. Quiet comfortable room and fast and efficient check-in and check-out. I'll stay again.
central location I would have been more comfortable with an extra pillow.
When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by the receptionist who was absolutely exccellent. She was very helpful, asked If I had been to Leicester before which I hadnt and she told me places of interest to visit. She made me feel welcome straight away. The hotel was modern and clean. Service was excellent and also the rooms were very comfortable. I would definately stay there again I cannot think of any bad points.
That I could park for free, although limited. My toilet design, as it was suspended from the wall and I did not feel it was safe.
Friendly, informative, clean, well designed, good position for city centre and public transport
Good value for money. Basic but clean and conveniently located.
Convenient for Railway station and City centre Well maintained modern hotel As a 'football hotel' a little too far from the ground 15/20min walk Very disappointed by the buffet breakfast which did not offer value for money or adequate choice compared with say a Premium Inn
Very close to the station Would have liked free wifi
Reception manager first class ,lady working on the bar charming!,My daughter left her slippers behind they posted back free of charge! Creaky floors in room above, late breakfast start 8.00am!
location and setting. appropriate music during dinner. service incredibly slow and inefficient. Plumbing in room in need of maintenance.
Lovely Location ' Well priced Hotel Service first night in Restaurant very poor ' did improve on the 2nd night ' maybe as it was different staff
Relaxing break shower not good
Friendly staff, comfortable room. Good breakfast, good value
The beautiful surroundings/countryside Bedroom was gloomy and not enough plug sockets and no TV remote control
the food lack of service due to the majority of the hotel taken over by a wedding, (on arrival the reception was set up as a disco) would like to of been informed of this prior to booking.
Location of the hotel was really lovely and the staff were very helpful Lots of noise from the weddings at the hotel which we not informed about when booking and the restaurant was filled with bugs & flies during dinner!
the staff very friendly and scenery beautiful food lovely i thought the drinks were a little bit expensive but overall all good
Lovely setting and we thought the half board package that we paid for was good value for money. Although we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast. We had our dog with us and the male receptionist on duty made sure we had a room which gave us easy access outside and also gave us information on good walks round about. Also, the waitress in the dining room on the Sunday evening was very attentive and cheery! Nothing to complain about, will use this hotel again.
