We stayed at a very busy time. From Dec 27 to Jan 1. Happy hour with Freddie and San was awesome and then to woke for breakfast with them! They are the best! Always had a smile on their face and took the time to make you feel at home. The breakfast and drinks were good too, but not as good as their company. The hotel was very nice and had comfortable surroundings. I surely will tell other people about the Embassey Suites. Thanks you made it a great vacation!
We stayed here in 2009 for a few nights and just one night on our most recent trip. I like this hotel and would stay here again any time I find myself in Memphis. Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. We appreciate the happy hour each evening as well as the hot breakfast which is complimentary and delicious. The only con is no free internet... cost us close to $10 and we only needed to use it for 5 minutes.
After reading several of the reviews I chose this hotel. It was very nice. The breakfast was good, but all the Embassy Suites have good breakfast. We arrived during the week, but on the weekends or family reunion season be prepared to fight over tables and stand in long lines for pancakes, omlettes and waffles. They do have no lines at the buffet for french toast and scrambled eggs. The mapquest stated the hotel is approx. 25 mins from Beale Street but we found a quicker route at the end of our trip. Simply make a right at the light and drive straight and you are there in half the time.
Spent two night here and it was a pleasant experience from the time we walked through the door. The friendly people at the check in made quick work of getting us settled in. The breakfast was as good as you can get and beat many restaurants I have been to. This trip was to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary, which we happen to mention to one of the staff. Later that afternoon we were informed that a package was to be delivered to our room. To both my Wife and I’s surprise it was an eatable fruit bouquet with a card from the hotel congratulating us on our long marriage. Needless to say that capped off our stay in a spectacular way. Watching the Koi fish in the Atrium along with the free swimming ducks was relaxing after a long day in the city.
This hotel staff makes this hotel one of the best! Each staff member we came in contact with from the lady that works the breakfast to the front desk clerk were friendly and very helpful! The atrium of this embassy suites is great for relaxing and entertain children. The indoor pool is small, but well maintained. The rooms are decent size and definitely could use some TLC. Overall, the ultra-friendly staff and lush atrium make this a great place to stay,
We didn't enjoy our stay at Embassy Suites as well as our 2 weekly stayes at Homewood Suites in Memphis TN, both owned by Hilton. Homewood Suites has a better layout for the rooms and is much more beautifully decorated, and the beds are much more comfortable. The free hot buffet breakfast is better than Embassy Suites buffet, and the free hot dinner at Homewood Suites is much preferred over the chips and cheese dip and bar drinks in the evening at the manager's welcome get together at the Embassy Suites. The staff at Homewood were more friendly and remembered your name. Homewood Suites is my preference when traveling. I'd consider Embassy Suites as average and Homewood Suites as excellent.
The trash in the room had not been emptied when we got there and the thermostat was not functioning. Other than that, everything was consistent with what we are used to from Embassy Suites. One experience like this did not deter us from staying here again. Good breakfast and other amenities.
On our recent stay at Embassy Suites Memphis my wife and I remembered why we always gravitate back to this hotel ....consistancy. This hotel is well worth the money compared with the overpriced hotels in downtown. The free and easy access parking and complimentary breakfast are very added feature. (Not to be found cheaply downtown). The staff are always accomodating and friendly. The rooms are clean, charming, well organized, spacious and the bathroom and shower are better than most hotels at twice the price . The hotel is especiallly suited to children and families. My wife and I were seeking a romantic weekend and were not bother by either. Always look forward to staying at this particular Embassy Suites.
We love staying at the Embassy Suites and this one in Memphis was no different. Staff is very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious! Will definitely stay here again!
This hotel was basically a crash pad for us on this trip but it was nice and not too far from our destination of Graceland.
We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel except fro swimming. Te pool/hot tub area was nice. The kids really enjoyed that as did their mother and I. The hotel theme was pretty cool. The breakfast in the morning was probably the best I've had at a hotel, but then we've not been to a lot of hotels.
Very clean and nice in a good location.
I was traveling with 3 older teens...serious students...on a college tour. We stayed at severel hotels in several cities. The Embassy Suites in Memphis placed us in an odd room, behind a wall off of the breakfast area. Our room was very plain, with 2 lamps burned out. We arrived just after 10 pm and were informed that not only was room service no longer available, there were no snack machines available for vending, as well. I had to load everyone up again and go in search of food. The desk clerk was not very friendly and made no attempt to suggest any alternatives or even places nearby. In addition, upon entry to the hotel, the entrance doors and foyer area were cigarette smoke-filled by business guests and 2 employees on break. Would not stay here again since our price would have enabled us to stay in a FULL service hotel.
Had to call the front desk to have the maids clean the room! The feather bed on the mattress was old and feathers were coming out. The ladies cooking breakfast were rude and seem to expect tips. Not the kind of service you expect for the money you pay.
The hotel is undergoing some remodeling which was a minor inconvenience. The room was ok, but the shower was dirty and hadn't been cleaned properly. Breakfast lines to get special order items were were very long. We took the kids swimming after breakfast and the pool area was a mess. Empty beer bottles and garbage from the night before were still all over the place. I might understand if it was first thing in the morning, but we were at the pool after 9:00 AM. Also, there were no clean towels at the pool; it took numerous calls and a long wait to get them. And I know this is a bit picky, but many places are offering free internet access in the rooms, Embassy Suites is still charging $10.00. Overall, not my best experience at an Embassy Suites.
We stayed at this Embassy Suites for a long working weekend in June. Housekeeping was horrible...They never came to clean the room, change sheets, or make the beds. Even after we called and requested, they still never came...I had to go get my own towels....Big Let Down!
