The location was very convenient to my family's home. My door (room 104) was so loose in its frame that every time someone else slammed their door shut, my door rattled and often the security bar came loose. The decor in the rooms is very dated, despite a recent revamp. The sofa in particular is c. 1980.
The gentleman that greeted us at the front desk was inviting and warm.
The staff was very friendly and the newly renovated space was clean and looked nice. The swimming pool was too cold for my wife and kids, even though I requested warmer water on the first day. Also the beds are way too soft, like sleeping on a marshmallow.
I have stayed here several times now, and it's always been a pleasure. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is decent.
Convenient for visiting family. Staff ALWAYS accommodating and nice. no
Clean room, super friendly staff, very nice breakfast.
Clean, confusion on bill
The friendly workers and the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. The channels were also free to watch None at all

Easy check in with very nice staff. Clean room with a really nice bathroom. The bed was a little soft and not real comfortable. The remote for the TV was a pain in the neck and didn't work consistently.I'm sure if I had complained to the staff about it they would have fixed it though.

Breakfast was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Very friendly staff!
I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express In Brandermill for over a month and I'm so pleased! The Hotel is situated in a beautiful residential area with lots of shopping, restaurants and things to do! The staff was awesome in guiding me to all the local hot spots. They've even given me a complimentary upgrade!!!!! The complimentary breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day and the breakfast area was lovely to lounge in when I wanted to get out of my room for a while. I'm planning my next month long stay to be there and look forward to seeing all the friends I've made there!
Location Room smelled like stale smoke and its a non smoking hotel. Pillows were lumpy, bed was hard, crib was very squeaky

I booked our October, three night stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Village Green, in February. We arrived and our first night had been given to someone else. We were sent to another Holiday Inn which was thirty minutes away from the first hotel and forty minutes from our family. I cannot comment on the hotel itself other than it looked nice on the outside and was a good location for us but will have a hard time now using the Holiday Inns. We have had very good experiences prior to this and things happen but I felt by going through the online site book ahead and booking for three days, that we would not have this problem.
As usual, Holiday Inn Express provides a clean updated room with wonderful bedding. Thanks for a great places to rest after a long business day!
The cleanliness and the size of the room. No
great The drapes in the rooms where not able to be close and it did no good to try to obtain any privaticy
It was beautiful.
Friendly staff. Location. Below parking. Starbucks. Rooms. TV size. Rooms!
The pool! Our kids really enjoyed it.
Nice room, great price , good location. Staff is great.
Pool was closed
Great views but very expensive parking!
Staff was accommodating, put the flower in the room I asked for. Upgraded us to a better room after checking in, was attentive with needs for ice and deliveries Pool wasn't open, it was easy to get lost and enter the construction areas of the hotel. We couldn't get into teatime which was frustrating
Jefferson staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful!
Love the charm of its period decor. N/A
We enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer. The food, views, the bed, and the overall ambiance was great! Look forward to staying again. Very quiet too!!
Beautiful, faux Colonial Williamsburg architecture. Very quite, even thought the back of the residential building was near a major highway.
The property/facilities are well kept. They staff was not helpful: could t find my reservation, did not answer the telephone for over an hour, and management was entirely absent. Overall experience with them on a Thursday evening check-in was abysmal. Look elsewhere.
Had what we needed to rest for the night and the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly Could not take advantage of the breakfast because we had to leave so early
The room was ok, breakfast was nice. We booked this before going on a road trip because of its proximity to I-95 and because they were listed as Pet Friendly. When we got there we were told that there would be an additional fee of $50 and that they were no longer pet friendly.
A pleasant experience. Will definitely return on return trip.
Descent hotel for reasonable rate The fact that they advertise breakfast included, but it's only for 1 day of your entire stay
Staff was super friendly, and the bed was great after the our drive.
Price. Twenty dollar voucher for breakfast in attached restaurant. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning did not work correctly. Numerous stains on the carpet and table top. Wall protector for door handle was smashed into wall and broken.
The warm, friendly staff made the experience for us. Accommodating and genuine! The breakfast value and selection was terrific. We liked how easy it was to hop off and on 95. The room was older, spring mattress was stiff, no remote control and the TV didn't work.
Location was great. Staff was responsive to an issue we had. Beautiful lobby and restaurant. Room just the right size unlike other boutique hotels. Parking is too expensive. Housekeeping was a little too anxious to clean the room.
Elegant clubby atmosphere. Well appointed room and comfy bed. Plumbing made noise during the night.
Room / Hotel staff overall was clean and hospitable I didn't like the fact that we were stuck in a room in the back facing a wall. I will probably go back to the Omni or try the Renaissance Hotel next time in Richmond. At least there you're not looking at brick walls. I parked on the street couple blocks up due to over priced valet......it simply isn't needed with the parking garages around.
The staff was extremely helpful and willing to support with all our needs! Great location in downtown Richmond. Walking distance to great resturants and bars.
Quaint and location was great! Staff was fantastic! Every one of them during our stay-- from the valet to housekeeping. The noise from the street and the bed mattress seems to be old.
Alfreda and Lilly were absolutely wonderful at the front desk!
The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms spacious. The beds were to die for! By far the best rest I've had in some time. I would definitely return when in Richmond again.
-Great location -Beautiful hotel -Very friendly and helpful staff -Pizza deliveries right to room door -Menu was not as expanded as I thought it would be -Reserved room w/ balcony. To our major disappointment, our balcony had a 5 1/2 foot wall that was not noted in advertisement - major let down.
Clean. Great location! Comfortable bed. Broken coffee maker. No biggie, Starbucks is across the street.
The hotel was nicely maintained and clean with very nice rooms. The location was great and walkable to many restaurants and shops. I was disappointed when they confirmed my request for a small refrigerator via text message but once I got there couldn't find it in my room. I called the front text who notified me that there are no rooms with refrigerators but they could refrigerate things for me for 31$/day. NO thanks because I was also surprised by the 21$/day for parking.
Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and quiet. Lighting in the room was not bright enough; at least one mirror should be available in the room, outside of the bathroom; headboard was not attached firmly so it banged against the wall with any movement(had to wedge a towel between it and the wall).
We stayed only 1 night downtown.....but it was wonderful. Valet parking was quick and courteous. Front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was a wonderful bonus since there is so much to do in Richmond. The room was clean and tastefully decorated and the bar and restaurant were also wonderful , clean, and the staff courteous. Would definitely stay again.
Enjoyed that the building was a urban refurbish. Every staff person went beyond what I expected regarding service. Our room was made available early in the day to meet our schedule. Very prompt transportation service. Would have been nice to have a more upscale restaurant in the hotel, but the large bar area and regar dining area were great for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Friendly atmosphere The price
The staff was extremely cheerful, ready to assist, and helpful. The location was very convenient. Overall a very pleasant stay. The bed was a bit too firm.
The location to downtown Richmond is excellent with many restaurants nearby. Wish there was a schuttle to the airport which is only 15 minutes away.
clean and nice the heater made way to much noise. hard to sleep.
parking is not included, valet parking rated @ $ 23 per day. For those on personal trips: Across the street, public parking is available at $8-$18 per day, depends on timing.
Easy check-in, adjustable beds, free coffee, close to the Richmond Coliseum, free shuttle Valet took way too long--both days seemed to lack enough employees. We had to wait in a long line for 20+ minutes during both check-in and check-out.
Close to many Civil War Museums. Edgar Allen Poe lived across the street. Was a frequent visitor. Breakfast area was unattended. Trash piled up in can. However, I would stay again and recommend to others.
Price, and location specific to event I was attending. Very inflexible and relatively early check out time 11am only negative but well offset by price and location.
We were originally placed in a ground floor room (after requesting a room on a higher floor), which was dark and had a window into the hallway corridor. It felt as if you were in a dungeon. After our first night (of a two night stay) we discovered two bedbugs in our bed. We immediately notified the front desk which kindly agreed to change our room. Although the second room we were placed in was much nicer and on the top floor of the hotel, our stay was less than comfortable given the fact that it was difficult to sleep when imagining bedbugs crawling in bed with you. The hotel staff did not offer to compensate us in anyway for our troubles other than a gift mug. Although the hotel was booked for the weekend and we had heard good things about it, I would strongly recommended finding somewhere else to stay if visiting Richmond.
Never disappoints with convenience, location, charm. Had a different room this time, garden suite, and liked it. Spacious room, very comfortable bed, no noise issues. Lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim, but otherwise great.
Room was excellent but had no mini fridge. Only window in the room was painted shut.
location price, old.
Wonderful venue. Very historic. Staff was very helpful checking our luggage for the day. No self parking
It was comfortable . the staff was super & pleasant enjoyed my stay No place to park
The decor and facilities were charming and attractive. The staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast options were good. The only downside was parking, which was basically impossible to find without paying for valet parking.
Location made it easy to walk to nearby attractions, restaurants and bars. Old town feel and culturally diverse area. Felt safe with strong police presence. Not a downside really, but no easy way to carry luggage to room. Uneven walks and paths for us that like our rolling luggage. You get what expect from a hotel built in the 1800's. Neat place. Rooms are dingy.
The carriage house rooms that are disconnected from main Inn is where I stayed and it was lovely. The room was clean, the bathroom newly remodeled, the Queen bed soft and inviting. I had to leave before the included breakfast but I liked everything I saw. The area was near downtown but still a bit sketchy. I started walking to find a cafe or restaurant but then thought better of and turned around. The parking was valet for an extra $12 or street parking but if you parked on the street (if you found any) you would get towed if you didn't move by 7am or 8am.
In room refrigerator made an awful noise, had to unplug
Experienced female traveler. This hotel creeped me out despite the 3 star rating. I arrived after dark (5:30pm in Jan). It's in a neighborhood I wouldn't feel safe walking alone in. The up lights on the building are purple and the parking structure isn't lit. The exterior doors do not require a key card to enter. The room was clean but run down. Door frames detached from the wall, touch up paint not in the same sheen, shower fixtures loose and leaking.
Non-smoking room smelled like imbedded smoke. The air quality in the room was terrible. Felt like a dirty motel. Will not stay again.
Choose hotel because of it's close proximity to downtown Richmond Check in was great I believe his name was Edward very friendly. It is a hotel, but I was given a room on the first floor which was the feel of a motel I did not like that at all very noisy. I just didn't get a comfortable feeling. The room itself was ok at best felt shabby stained carpet, stained chair bathtub drain wouldn't stay open. I suggest paying extra for a nicer hotel or paying less for a motel because that what it feels like no different. I paid $90 for which I could of paid $50. for a motel. Hotel is close to downtown but not close to anything would not stay here again.
Nothing. Run down, seemed like a transient housing facility. The ad on Kayak was completely opposite of what is there. Definitely not worth the $100.
spacious room with fridge , and microwave.
It was cleanish. The linens were clean and the room was very large. I also had a balcony overlooking the pool. There was something that looked like a smear on the wall from someone smashing a mosquito. It was right behind a hanging towel so you know whoever cleaned the room saw it and was like, meh. There was a lot of wind that night and I could hear it howling all night! The door to the balcony was not completely sealed which is probably why I could hear the noise. If I were trying to sleep in the next morning and kids were at that pool, I probably would have heard all of that too!
The location and air conditioning The hallways where hot. But it was over 100 degrees when I stayed there. Elevator was hard to work.
Large bed -condom wrapper on hotel room floor behind night stand -ice cream left in freezer by previous occupant and not cleaned out -opened beer left in fridge by previous occupant and not cleaned out (Have pictures of)
Location Bathroom was a bit run down & dirty
The staff at the front desk! Check in time is 3:00 but they happily accommodated my wife and I with a room at 1:30. They didn't have to do that. It made the entire stay that much more enjoyable because of it. We needed to check in and get changed for a 2:30 engagement. Your hospitality just set the mood for the whole weekend! Thanks! Can't say I had any complaints.
Breakfast was included at this Clarion. Room was large and didn't feel cramped. There was a sofa. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Fitness room was adequate. Location was convenient. Bathroom light and fan were one switch. Couldn't just turn on the light alone. Fan was loud. First morning, housekeeping didn't come. I had difficulty with the WiFi at times.
I liked the simple neatness of the room as well as the ease of checking in. There were no problems going through a third party. It's a little out of the way from downtown, but I knew that ahead of time. Soft towels and a comfortable bed. The room was fairly clean. Could hear any noice outside in the halls, but I supose that's just a hotel.
The Westin is nice, clean and I like the location. A bit pricey for what we got. Staff was super nice. Our room was directly under the Executive Club and noisy as hell. We were kept awake too late and awoken before 6am the next day. Ugh.
My stay was very relaxing and comfortable. My toilet would not flush completely. I made the hotel aware at check- out and they just apologized. Ly
The Hotel was clean, the staff friendly. Nice workout room and pool. The hotel was great. Booking.com/ Price line, not so great. I made a registration through them and it was obviously acknowledged hence the questionnaire I am filling out. They did not however send a conformation email and when I arrived at the Hotel they had no record of my booking. Fortunately they had a room available and were very accommodating.
Room- clean, very comfortable, nice bathroom Staff- professional, efficient, very nice Amenities- free parking, free wi-fi, executive club lounge with continental breakfast and complimentary drinks/snacks throughout day Location- area around hotel isn't bad, just a bit far from downtown Richmond
We stayat the Richmond Westin a few times a year. Always great staff, always comfortable beds, always super clean and welcoming. Great food...love the starbucks coffee in the lobby . Just a perfect Westin!
Everything is great.i never left the hotel and was very happy the entire time. Only thing missing were the luxury robes. I like to sit around and pretend that i am VERY wealthy
Location was very convenient to dining in Short Pump.
Nothing I checked in, saw the room, laughed, and left. Reception would not return money. Fought the charge with credit card company. Stay away.
Everything was great! I could here the guest using the restroom upstairs.
It was clean overall and the room was spacious. Good location. The radiator was very loud and seemed to come on about every 20 min. My mom said the same thing about her room (before I even mentioned it). Also the wifi signal in our room was weak and often I had trouble staying connected.
Very quiet A lot close by
Easy check in. Decent breakfast. Absolutely worthless internet. Apparently this has been a problem for months. A crucial feature in any hotel and owners refuse to fix. We were connected to tech support who ran us through the paces which did nothing. Constant signal fluctuations and drop offs. Would never have wasted our money if we knew their was basically no usable internet service. In addition key cards repeatedly failed. At times we had to make 3 trips back and forth to get a working key card. Front desk blamed in on cell phones. Obv. the owners of this Wingate franchise went with the lowest bidders on all services. Shame. Always had good experiences with Wingates until this one.
I never made it there. Trip was cancelled.
Almost everything.. I asked for a copy of my billing and was told that I had made the booking online so no copy.I was reading the information in my room and it mentioned the possibility of having swim wear available when I asked at the desk the girl was lost or should I say clueless as to what I was talking about.
Clean and comfortable! Nothing smelled or looked dirty. The free breakfast included eggs, bacon and waffles, which was unexpectedly nice. Wish the blackout curtains could pull shut, but only the sheer curtains went all the way across the window. We had an infant, so extra darkness would have been nice.
Guarenteed stay - no need call if you're checking in late, black out curtains, hot breakfast included until 10 a.m. with a great pastry/waffle & beverage selection. ADA compliant bathroom door swung in crowding what would have been an otherwise large bathroom, the eggs were bland & there was no hot sauce or cheese to make them more palatable, the bacon was oddly excessively smoke flavored.
Great location, clean, higher end finishings, friendly staff. Breakfast left a lot to be desired.
The room was clean and the cleaning staff great The Desk person was very very annoying and unprofessional
I liked everything. Everyone was so friendly and professional and the room was clean and the whole hotel was very nice. Nothing, I loved everything!
Staff was excellent The elevator didn't work, the toilet paper holder was falling off and the shower rod was loose and hanging down so the shower curtain would not stay shut. Wi-Fi was slow and the TV was not HD
Front desk and staff were very friendly. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was standard and exactly what you would expect. Hotel had a great location for the price. Great price for business or value travel. The room was still undergoing cleaning upon check in so I'm not sure if they paid attention to their own schedule or not. It made rather inconvenient to move stuff back into the car and then back into the room 10 mins later. Just to find the floor wet from the steam cleaner. It would have been much easier if they had cleaned the room prior to our check in time.
I was most impressed with the cleanliness of my room and bathroom. It is so nice to arrive to a clean room after a long day of travel. The room was also spacious. It is also nice to have a complimentary breakfast, although the quality of the food was not impressive to me.
Clean and felt like home
Not a lot of people in the hotel No one was working the front desk when we got there. Had to wait 10 minutes before someone showed up. Hallways smelled bad.
The pleasant experience with check-in. Too many children running loose in the halls and in the morning breakfast.
Impeccable Customer Service. From the first step out of my vehicle, and it being promptly valeted, to checking out and the Front Desk kindly offering to hold our bags or load into our cars for us. Simply remarkable. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Reading the history of the hotel and all of the reclaimed and repurposed features was inspiring. Fabulous atmosphere, top-notch cocktails and the Maple-Pine's dinner was out of this world! The Quirk is doing it right! We were disappointed the rooftop wasn't open yet, but, that just gives us more of a reason to return!
In town for a wedding. Booked 3 rooms for extended family. Well pleased with rooms especially double queen w/sleeper. Breakfast was very good and above typical fare.
Continental breakfast was GREAT!!!
Clean room great breakfast Lady checking us in was little rude other than that other staff was very nice
Easy and good There are two buildings
It was clean and functional. Wake up call came on time. Outside entrance not locked at night, needs renovation, old noisy window AC units.
Found 2 live roaches in my room. Notified staff who were willing to relocate however no other rooms were available. Suggested construction workers were likely culprits for bringing bugs into room.
The room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable! We could easily hear people talking in the next room.
I did not stay at the motel. I paid for rooms for family members visiting for Thanksgiving. They didn't have anything positive to say, except that the single room with two double beds that they all had to stay in was okay. The reservation was for two rooms, three people. The motel only reserved one room. It was a late check-in and the desk clerk couldn't handle the mistake. The guests offered to all stay in the one room. However, I don't believe the motel was completely booked. My father, one of the guests, recommended I not use the motel again. He likes cheap, so for him to say that is telling.
We stayed in a king suite and our room was enormous and very clean. The staff were all very kind, and no complaints about the breakfast or dining room, either. We would stay there again.
Nice public spaces
This hotel occupies a beautiful old brick building. We appreciated the choice of a decent hotel with comfortable beds that is also pet friendly - thank you Best Western. Staff is kind, helpful and breakfast choices good.
Nice hotel and very pleasantly surprised by the breakfast variety. Although I'm not a fun of the style my wife loved the "lodge style" feeling of the hallways and rooms. Somewhat unique architectural design. They cut of my room and building access key 15 minutes before the official noon check out, as I was transporting my luggage from the room to the car thus locking me out of the building (I was in their second building, which is not staffed at the lobby apparently). Therefore access to the building and the room is card access only. I had to call my wife and ask her to bring out the rest of the luggage since I couldn't get back in. It was either that or have to walk back to the main lobby in a different building and ask them to reactivate my card. Also while this is not the hotels fault I'm not impressed by the fact that you pay three tolls to get from downtown Richmond to the hotel
Mariah at the front desk was an absolute doll! She was kind and friendly. She remembered us days after check in and asked us if we needed anything. Thank you Mariah! N/A
Very spacious roomy area. Had a mini fridge and microwave and the beds were comfortable. Nothing
No one st front desk when I arrived at 7:30 pm. Had to pick up a phone and call for assistance. Still had to wait almost 10 min for someone to arrive. Hotel hard to find.
The staff. Bathrooms had no towel racks.
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The front desk seemed a little under staffed and the staff seemed overwhelmed but they still met my needs.
Th room was very well designed as far as the layout and the bed was quite comfortable. The location is not the greatest. There is not much to do nearby.
