The hotel and views are just beautiful. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. As in most hotels in europe, using our eledtrical devices are never easy. I think either additional adapters should be provided or more outlets??
Excellent views and a superb resturaunt with views across the bay. good pool. Rooms a bit noisy with flushing water from other rooms.
Service and location Room is very small and overpriced, at least, for the Easter period. Internet (5 Euro for 40 min) is practically inaccessible.
Very friendly staff.
The location is execellent. view is breathtaking, situated near the centre of Sestri Levante. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The rooms are very small and noisy.
Hotel is located in a beautiful lush setting with views of the Mediterranean from certain areas (restaurant, bar and pool area, some restaurants) and within easy walking distance of beaches and the shops. Other rooms have good views of the surrounding hillsides. not a big issue but people should be aware rooms are on the small side
The views from the hotel are stunning. The food was excellent, though quite expensive, though not much more than restaurants in town. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We felt hotel was above our expectations.
View Driveway to the hotel was very steep and curvy. Suggest leaving car at bottom of hill and taking lift to the hotel.
The view from the restaurant was superb, the pool staff (especially attentive, helpful and eager to communicate) and pool facility was excellent. Perhaps I would specify a room with view on next visit.
I have nothing but raves about this hotel, its accommodating staff, the beauty of its location and the fabulous food and rooms - not one has a bad view. I would say there is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. People who go there should know , because it is high on a hill you have to take an elevator down to the beach - that doesn't mean the beach is across the street from the elevator. It involves a walk through town about 6 blocks and crossing a major street.
The hotel was luxurious, the staff excellent and the food was top class. The food at the Nettuno ,owned by the same family, was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
great location right next to the beach, place was filled with antiques and had lots of character. Despite very central location it was a haven of tranquility. Bathroom was dated. Overall a little expensive for the standard delivered.
Close to the beach, close to shops, overall nice building, staff very kind absolutely. Noise of not isolated water pipes in the room. Could not sleep when people in adiacent rooms used bathroom facilities.
People at the reception were incredibly nice and friendly. Our room was really clean and comfortable. The hotel also benefits of an amazing location, in a quiet residential area, just in between the sea front and the main shopping street. Buffet breakfast was great!
Great location. Specious rooms with nice balcony. Nice outdoor terrasse - good breakfast.
the hotel is very close to the beach and Cinque Terra by train .
Rooms were large and comfortable, very clean. Right across the road from beach and in the heart of shopping and sites. 10min walk to railway. Front rooms that fronted the street were noisy, very noisy till very late at night. Changed to room at back of hotel and all was better.
Somewhat pricey but an outstanding location, and great and helpfull staff
Nice setting, beautiful furniture, quiet, good size rooms, close to nice restaurents, close to the beach Quality of breakfast inferior compared to hotel status and price
superb kitchen/chef at excellent price for value. room was huge, redone and had magnificent balcony/view. staff helped with complicated directions and internet. extraordinary location with a private park overlooking ligurian sea. liked it all.
the hotel itself, cleanliness of the room, additional facilities like the private beach, courtesy and efficiency of the personnel, the beautiful location, the park around the hotel, the view from the hotel
It was absolutely beautiful, very clean, wonderful breakfast, great restaurant and bar, and everyone was very accomodating. We hope to go back. No, it was perfect!
Beautiful hotel with exceptionally pretty grounds. Nice staff. Wonderful location No complaints
The building was very beautiful While staff were friendly we had to ask them for information e.g. where breakfast was served and at what time. some basic written info in the room would have been helpful
everything no problems
Nice castle hotel in a charming seaside town with easy access to Cinqueterre and Portofino area.Perfect views nice people delicious buffet breakfast.Everything luxurious and genuine. We loved it and would go back again !
Fantastic Location. Good breakfast
Views from top of the hotel plus the setting
The views. The lack of common areas to relax. When the weather was bad there was no where to go except your room.
It was an amazing experience: beautiful, clean rooms; friendly, helpful staff; warm, neighborhood atmosphere.
Hotel is old, with antiques all over the place and full of character
Wonderful old hotel newly renovated, but retains a lovely, historical feel. Perfectly located to walk anywhere - breakfast was outstanding! We had mosquitoes in our room - husband was seveerly bitten during our stay here.
Afternoon coffee in the shady and mature garden was delightful. Relaxing around the pristine outdoor pool. The public rooms were kept scrupulously clean. The bathroom in our superior room was very cramped and in need of updating. The shower cubicle was so small it was impossible to do anything but stand there and I am not fat. The food was unexciting.
We liked the hotell very much and would say that it clearly a very good alternative. Nice pools good staff. The breakfast was ok, terrible juice machine but if you ask they will make feshly squeezed juice and then its great. Sestri Levantes beach is a bit industrial with houndreds of umberellas.
nice hotel, nice garden and pool.Besaide the most beautiful beach Very small room for the price
A stylish hotel with attractive gardens/ bar and swimming pool - has an Agatha Christie atmosphere of rather sinister traditional elegance. Just by the beach - good views. Sestri Levante is a dreadful, touristy, very limited place - we wouldn't go back. Avoid it in the holiday season! We got badly bitten by mosquitoes in the pretty hotel garden. The breakfast crockery was dirty and food disapointing, mainly pre-packaged.
Hotel is a treasure trove of beautiful things. Bedroom was very comfortable. While it was possible to have a very enjoyable breakfast, the variety of fresh fruit was limited. They need to source an unsweetened muesli and of better quality. The cheese was supplied in pre packs, as were the honeys and jams, it was a pity not to be able to sample the wonderful cheeses of the region.
Location, staff, service small bathroom
The nearby beach and the swimmingpool was both excellent and the staff was very nice
Extremely friendly staff.excellent breakfast and the evening meal is a great value for money option.five minute walk to blue flag beach .room came with lovely terrace. no air conditioning .
excellent services and hotel staff was friendly very much.delicious cuisine, excellent dinners with see food
It is a really friendly establishment and the stqff/owners went out of their way to make our stqy enjoyable; Taxis are not easy to find in Monteglia so they ran us to the railway station with all our luggage when we were leaving; Looking forward to the next stay!!
Hotel staff was incredibly helpful. Good location. Room too small.
The hotel is really old and the rooms are small. I think it would need a renovation...
Excellent services, really nice hotel staff, good food (both breakfast and dinner).
Calm place, the staff was friendly The doors were too noisy, there was not really view from my room
The welcome and help we received was brilliant. The food was very good. Buffet breakfast was enough to last the day. Good to have a restaurant in the hotel. The car park was rather a distance away and very up hill.
Breakfast is excellent and there is also express coffee near reception for the small cup lovers. Really friendly staff.
Very kind staff! They picked us up from the train station even when we arrived late, 2 am. Breakfast was delicious and it is a great location for access to cinque terre and also just to enjoy moneglia. We really enjoyed out stay.
Very clean, very good breakast and very nice staff
Beautiful facility. Quiet. Good food in restaurant. Allessandra is a gem--she helps with everything.
excellent breakfast, 5 star quality Overpriced in our opinion, room not spacious, only a roof window.
Very Good location, lovely swimming pool, perfect to go to Cinque terre - train station and beach 5 minutes walk.
The hotel was efficent and clean. The restaurant was very good and the best part of the hotel. The room could use some paint, but otherwise was good for the value. Also, the town the hotel is located in is very small and quite with little else other than the hotel so plan for that.
Everything, except dinner problems (but despite this, food in this hotel restaurant was excellent) Dinner problems - if you have no reservation on saturdays evening - this hotel will not give you food at all and you will be supposed to find another place for dinner. So, be smart - if you want to have the dinner in this hotel restaurant - make reservation! ;)
very comfy area- nice and quiet.
Very friendly staff. Free Internet.
Perfect position, great swimming pool and good breakfast, if compared to an average Italian hotel of the same category. Some nice "special attention" to international visitors (Skype, foreign languages spoken, tourist info available in the hotel)
Spacious and nicely furnished room. Good restaurant. Staff very helpful in planning trips to Cinque Terre. Convenient localisation - close to train station, easy access from motorway.
Loved the 'look' of the hotel and the wonderful terrace and outdoor spaces. also liked the it was close to the beach and had a swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was supposed to have a 'garden' view but really had no view as the garden was blocked by a large awning.
Exceptionally helpful friendly staff. Beatiful location. Garden view room amenity-wise was fine, but the seaview was significantly more impressive for the same price. By all means opt for the seaview if given the choice.
Perfect location, situated right on the beach. Helpful staff and off street parking! Very good stay
Rooms were very clean and comfortable and stff were friendly and very helpful. great seaside position in the right season.
Location near beach and train to cinque terra The hotel is very diffiuclt to find. The street it is supposed to be on does not exist.
New rooms and friendly staff. They forced us to take our car out of the parking lot (located in the train station). It was very hard and time consuming to find a paying parking spot in Deiva Marina
The friendly and welcoming attituded of the owners, their willingness to help in every way and the modern facilities of this brand new hotel. Right by the sea and close to the train stations and the Cinque-Terre. We would have liked to stay longer.
the location is grate with a grate view.
The hotel is situated on a hill top outside the town of Siestre Levante in a good & quiet location, its nice to get away from the town and to be able to relax on the hillside. The room we had No.12 had a nice balcony, table, chairs and I loved the private outdoor shower. There was good view of the sea & town and the sunset. The breakfast room also has a lovely view of the sea and town below. The breakfast was a comprehensive continental one good with freshly baked pastries/croissants, home made jam & enjoyable. Next door there was the Kontiki restaurant which the hotel offered a special deal of 25 Euros p/person excellent vale, the best restaurant I found in Siestre Levante, top class cuisine & good friendly service Hotel room top floor had a sloping roof and I kept knocking my head but you cant have everything.
The staff was very helpful and lovely. Breakfast was tasty but only slightly varied from day to day. We were there 8 days We knew the hotel was some distance from the center and a car is required as the hotel is about 4-5km away uphill. Positively, there is a lot of free parking near the center. A big negative is the bang we hear every time someone close a door.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful. After one night I was able to shorten our stay with no problems. The rooms I was shown were much more cramped than the rooms pictured on the site. The beatufil hotel view is marred by a large hideous restaurant located right under it on one side.
Central location, quiet room, modern design in old building
The hotel is in a good location for visiting the historical part of Bologna. The hotel is very difficult to find in the city with the many one way streets and lack of clear street signage. It took many attempts to finally reach the hotel. The 24 euro price to park on the premises seemed high although we were happy to have this option in this busy city.
Friendly staff, fantastic view. We stayed in room 12, which a previous reviewer said was for dwarfs. It does have a slanting ceiling, but it is fine near the bed, has lots of character and has a lovely balcony looking out onto the hills and sea. Nothing to do with the hotel, but sat nav sends you to completely the wrong place based on the address.
Setting, comfort Difficult to find, address is not clear if you are not local.
quiet, great view, helpful staff
Great situation in the hills above Sestri Levante. Nice breakfast room with wonderful view. Good parking.
facililties in room very good, staff very friendly
Excellent location for visiting Le Cinque Terre. Use the train to visit any of the five villages. The walk from RioMaggiore is the gentlest introduction to the coastal path. The staff at Residence Kris were very friedly and helpful, thoroughly recommended.
staff extremely helpful-free parking-nice room-quiet.
The hotel was clean and quiet, 5 min to rail station. the staff was very friendly and helpful.
It was situated in a quiet village and not near any noisy roads or late night bars (if there are such things in Deiva Marina). There was free use of the internet. Staff were helpful when asked how we should get to places such as Portofino or what restaurants were available to use. The ice cream cabinet trapped us on our way past! There was no power point in the kitchen that could be used with a small travel electric kettle. A power point would also have been useful for using a camera battery recharger. A small micro wave would have been good
We had a wonderful time. The hotel was excellent value for money. Extremely clean, modern, very friendly. The beach was on the doorstep and it was fabulously easy to get to by train from pisa. The trains station in Deiva Marina was a short stroll away and the services ran very regularly, including late into the night for cinque terre towns. The town itself is a little sleepy, but this was super relaxing and we used the bars and restaurants in monterosso when we wanted something a bit livelier. Train from Pisa for two of us was just under 15 euros one way, it costs about twice as much if you use the eurocity train between pisa and la spezia, and is only about 15 to 20 mins quicker. i would recommend checking train times on trennitalia site.
The staff was excellent. They were pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The beach was nice and very near. Hotel was easy to find from the rain station. easy access to Cinque Terre.
staff and help very good!! room was great!! location very nice and peacful would highly recommend hotel loved the breakfast and the court yard Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The staff was always very friendly and helpful with any questions we had -- which were many! The room was spotlessly clean, and kitchenette was helpful. Evening dining room and outdoor lounge availability. Loved the big French doors to the balcony! Minor complaint ----- flat pillows........
This hotel is a treasure. It's location, in the lovely little seaside village/resort of Deiva Marina, is perfect for beach holidays or for visits to the Cinque Terre as it is only two train stations north of Monterosso. The hotel is situated in a quiet little street with a beautuful alfresco seating area at the front. Our room had all the modern facilities, a small kitchenette for self catering and a balcony with views towards the village and mountains. The staff were very friendly, helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them. Breakfast was huge and delicious with freshly cooked eggs. The train station is only 200 metres away and there are a number of restaurants in the town. We would definitely return to this hotel as it was one of the most relaxing that we stayed at on our trip throughout Italy.
