9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was well appointed and more than adequate for our needs. The pool was fantastic and the grounds and lake most pleasant and provided much enjoyment. I liked the staff attitude and helpfulness especially in correcting the small problem we had with linen provision on the first night.
Cons: We were disappointed that linen was not available for us when we arrived but were pleased to accept the manager's profound apologies the next morning. She could not have been more helpful during our stay and a useful source of information. She was also accommodating with our departure time.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and staff were great
Cons: The apartment was not up to a good standard of cleanliness (dirty crockery, lots of dust, toilet need a good scrub)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Crossiants amazing. Swimming pool for my grandchildren very good. Accommodation very clean.
Cons: Beds were not particularly comfortable and the pillows needed changing.
7.5 Good
Pros: It is a big Residence, very nice, rather new with big and clean swimming pool. I think in the summer it is over crowded, in October it was very calm.
Cons: Very narrow (75 cm) sofa-beds, not comfortable to sleep. Pillows are also not really comfortable. No hair dryer. No kitchen towels and dishwashing liquid.
7.5 Good
Pros: It overlooked the lake
Cons: Not enough bed linen
7.9 Good
Pros: Swimming Pool, Location, Facilities.
Cons: I was disappointed that there wasn't an actual bed but two sofas that made up into a bed. They were very comfortable though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly welcome.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely lovely, the pool was heated and it was nearly the end of October.
Cons: There was no toilet upstairs

7.5 Good
Pros: Quietly situated, close enough to walk into Monflanquin (20/25 minutes) Good value for a B&B stay to explore the area. Very obliging staff in the hotel and cleaning ladies etc Reasonably priced wine and various food options. Good continental breakfast. Plenty of free parking and space round the chalets, relaxed atmosphere. Overlooks a pretty lake to walk round and red squirrels spotted.
Cons: A pity the swimming pool wasn’t in use at all (no water in it - municipal pool next door) No air conditioning in our chalet though some did have it. We asked for a fan which was willingly provided (very hot conditions) that helped.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome. The accommodation was simple but comfortable and the location - being so near to Monflanquin and the lovely outdoor municipal swimming pool - was excellent. We will very likely be staying here again soon.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great chalet, very clean, very nice, massive surprise to find the huge lake out the back, beautiful place
Cons: No kettle and tea and coffee in the room
7.5 Good
Pros: Service very friendly and efficient
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Worst hotel we have ever stayed in - staff grunted at us no welcome at all . Breakfast minimal not fresh . Plastic cover on beds . Swimming pool empty tired and dated needs closing down - why is hotel even on website it looks like a ghost town - towels thin, shower hose burnt our friend who also stayed with his wife. Last update must have been 30 years ago?
Cons: Hotel should not be advertised on your website - if you visit you will take it off. Tired dated very old - never stayed in such a basic hotel for what we paid . You rate it 4.7 out of 5 so misleading . No mirrors, hooks, pillows, tea/coffee facilities, needs closing down . Go there and stay a night to confirm our comments . We often book with your company but your review is misleading.
7.1 Good
Pros: Functional, okay place to get your head down.
Cons: No kettle in room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is stunning. The welcome is exceptional. Lovely place, lovely people.
Cons: Not applicable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an excellent place to stay! Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. The place was lovely and clean, the breakfast was superb and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We arrived fairly late and Olivier was there to welcome us as we arrived and showed us to our room. We were always asked what time we wanted breakfast which suited or needs so we could plan our days. If we were ever to go back to that area of France we would definitely go back! Thank you Claudine and Olivier!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning old mill in a beautiful location. Generous room with balcony - perfect for warm evening relaxation and many little 'extras'. Breakfast was fabulous with fruit, yoghurt, pastries and eggs from the hens. Claudine is a very welcoming and generous host speaking excellent English and much useful advice. Pool and wifi were temporarily out of action while we were.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old mill with a river, converted into a home where Claudine and Olivier host guests. The guest room has its own entrance, balcony, bathroom (with a great shower) and a large comfortable and clean room with a double bed, seating area and kitchenette. The property also has free WiFi and parking. Breakfast is lovely and plentiful with freshly made scrambled eggs with truffles (fresh from her hens in the garden), bread, fruit, pastries, coffee and Claudine's homemade vanilla yoghurt which is so good. Claudine is an excellent host (who speaks great English for those of us who don't speak very good French) and makes you feel welcome. We were there to attend a friends wedding and there was no local taxi service that would pick us up from the nearby venue (15 drive) so Claudine and her husband offered to pick us up and took us back to the mill which was so kind and helpful and much appreciated. She also offered to iron my dress for the wedding which so nice and really was, as she put it, 'VIP treatment'. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but did have a wander around her garden which is lovely and well maintained. I highly recommend anyone to stay at this property for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable stay in Monflanquin.
Cons: My only suggestion would be to perhaps have a fan or AC available in the room as it was quite hot in August and sleeping with the windows open meant we got bitten by mosquitoes all night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay. Claudine and Oliver are super welcoming and the experience as a whole was simply charming. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and had a very comfy bed. We ate and drank with Claudine and Oliver who, as mentioned in other posts, will happily tell you about the local area and provide recommendations - they could not have done more. The breakfast was delicious and varied including a fantastic scrabbles eggs with truffle (with the eggs fresh from the garden!). If you are visiting Monflanquin then this is the place to stay - they set the bar very high!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and quirkiness of it. Claudine and Olivier were just enchanting and the whole experience was to be repeated!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claudine was so nice & couldn’t do enough for you. The accommodation is very comfortable & everything in the room was to a high quality. Our shower was powerful & I particularly loved all the shampoo, shower gels & hand soap. The breakfast was delicious & set you up for the day. Claudine was very friendly & chatted with us during our stay. The pool was amazing, clean , warm & inflatables to use during the stay. The gardens are stunning, a beautiful place.

The suite was perfect for us and our son who joined us later. The views and the breakfasts were outstanding. I enjoyed my daily chats with Nane which helped to improve my French. The location was superb and the help and hospitality we experienced was exceptional.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for Monflanquin centre, lovely view from rooms.

Pros: A STUNNING hotel in a beautiful part of France. It was clean, rooms were huge and bathroom was huge too. It’s just beautiful, and facilities were excellent. The couple who run this hotel are so lovely, helpful and went the extra mile in every way. It doesn’t surprise me it’s so busy but I hope to go back ASAP. A truly wonderful place. 5* in my opinion!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nowt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were friendly and made us very welcome we had not been to this part of France and loved it. We were there for a wedding nearby but would like to go back another time and explore the area. Nothing was too much trouble
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property and Jaqueline was very friendly, super helpful and approachable
Cons: This isn’t a complaint as the property and facilities were great. We are quite tall and the beds were small but we have this problem in most venues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jacqueline was an excellent host. The double room with terrace was more than what we expected. So much space. Such a peaceful location. And the summer kitchen is ideal to sort out your snack fix!
Cons: Nothing- we will be back again
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the remoteness of the location, the spaciousness of the room and adjoining bathroom, the fact that it was almost on the ground floor with its own access to a terrace, the lovely swimming pool and the helpfulness and charm of our hosts, Rob and Jacqueline, two Dutch people with impeccable English. We were also grateful that the hosts kindly allowed us to bring friends to share the swimming pool once afternoon, which was a treat as they have a town house in Montflanflanquin and on a hot day were grateful to be able to swim. It was particularly nice to have only 2 other rooms, both occupied during our 4 nights, as the place was quiet and as I am in poor health it was possible to relax and enjoy the calm.
Cons: It would be nit picking to comment but the shower was rather disappointing. It was in a huge curved cubicle but with a very small shower head (perhaps to conserve water?) and did not angle very satisfactorily. We are used to a rain forest shower head at home and getting our whole bodies drenched and in such a large space it seems a missed opportunity not to have something similar or even one of the smart showers which spray onto the body from the side as well as from above. The continental breakfast provided each morning was charming and very smilingly served but we would have appreciated some mueseli or granola as an aid to digestion as well as croissant and bread, and should have remembered to bring our own. The vast bathroom was big enough to accommodate a bath too which we enjoy, but I know that only providing a shower is becoming more usual.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic, relaxing place to stay. Room were big, comfortable and spotless. Pool was great and views amazing. The owners Rob and Jacque were lovely and provided an excellent breakfast each day.
Cons: Nothing to dislike

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I rated this property 10/10 based on what we got for what we paid. I have stayed in more luxury accommodation but that has cost a lot more money. If you are looking for something basic at a very affordable price, it doesn't get better than this.

La Pierre Blanche - La Sauvetat-sur-Lède - Bedroom
9.2 Excellent (18 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in La Sauvetat-sur-Lede, La Pierre Blanche is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Lake Coulon and Musee des Bastides. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This little restaurant-with-rooms is set in the heart of French gastronomy. The rooms are simple, but perfectly adequate for the price, clean, comfortable and lots of hot water. Breakfast is simple and very French. The area is Gascony - with all that implies for tourism, history, food and lovely countryside and the location is very quiet, even though it is fairly close to a country road. The problem is set out below...
Cons: The problem is that the food is simply not up to it. The chef-proprietor should employ somebody who understands the heritage of Gascony. Our evening meal was disappointing in that it did not reflect the Gascon style and all main dishes were presented with the same bland vegetables. My high rating relates to the rooms, but not, I'm afraid to the food.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room, hosts, quality of all features including breakfast and expertly prepared dinner - extra cost but super value. Can't recommend enough!
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Colin & Christine were the most incredible hosts. They greeted me like part of the family and my stay was more comfortable, personal and memorable than I ever could have imagined. I can’t rate them, their house and its surroundings enough. I will return as soon as I can
Cons: I only had one night’s stay, I wish it had been more
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location surrounded by lovely countryside
Cons: A small point and it’s the only thing we can think of now we have had time to reflect. Colin and Christine our hosts were more than happy to chill wine in their fridge but a small fridge in our bedroom would have been useful. Colin and Christine were so helpful they probably would have provided one had we asked

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were so helpful and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. A beautiful place and in a lovely area.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location, very quiet and nice views, good pool, and some adorable small cities close by. Montflanquin has several very good restaurants.
Cons: IT was during a heatwave and the sleep-ins room was prettig hot at night, but this heatwave was extraordinary, even for Biou!,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: French rural location but near to places of interest Christine and Colin made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble As our french is limited it was great to have english hosts. The location has great views across the plum orchards and sunflower fields The swimming pool good size and really clean a welcome facility in the heat. We stayed here as it was close to the chateau our god daughter was getting married at locally and then found she herself had stayed here in the winter when making her arrangements and also found christine and colin to be great hosts The location is not to far away from the dordogne about 30 miles which we visited on a day trip Colin is fluent in french as he has lived here for years and gave us really great feedback on the places to visit and also knew of others which were mot so good It made our holiday staying here and christine and colin felt like old friends when we left If you want busy bustling this wont suit you but if you want to enjoy rural france beautiful scenery french slow pace of life this is great and its only about 10 mins from monflonquin with a good Choice of restaurants the local village also has a great little restaurant We will definately be staying here again
Cons: We really liked the property the photographs are true to life our room was really clean and the bed very comfortable
