Location and modern
Best location and amenities at the hotel
Loved the location and the property is beautiful.
If you’re booking with the thought of hanging out by the pool or having a drink/meal at one of the rooftop restaurants- prepare to possibly be disappointed. I understand this is a ‘private pool’ but my thought was that it’s private for guests. Not so. $60 extra if you want to use it. Also, on a warm and lovely evening, both rooftop restaurants were ‘closed’ for private events. I feel that hotels should disclose this when you’re booking. Part of the reason we chose this property was to enjoy the view and have a meal high above Montreal. We stayed for two nights and guest access was restricted the entire time. Additionally, every time we were about to get on an elevator, staff would harass us asking if we were going to the rooftop because it was closed. We got it the first time. Not acceptable.
Front desk, bell staff excellent
Service at breakfast, stopped using restaurant after 2 disappointments, never ate at hotel again, sad.
Bed and shower
Dark and sad room. Towels were not changed the second day. Aminities were not replace the second day. The sink was not draining properly. Food smell in the corridor.
Hotel William Gray is located in the heart of old Montreal. It is a perfect balance between modern design and historic architecture, full of local artwork, light, carefully curated furnishings, and stunning views of Montreal from rooftop decks. The Living Room is at the epicenter of the action: with a full bar, library, pool table, and vinyl collection, making it a gravitational point for the creative set.
Originally built in 1785, the northern part served as both a warehouse and shops for the auction of goods, while the southern part served as a residence. The two buildings are the only living examples of an 18th-century property that combines residence and work, which was common at the time. Since 1873, the buildings have been used for a variety of things, including a printer, shops, stable, restaurant, and brasserie. After a fire in March 1968, the owner restored the two buildings back to their original appearance, and it was classified as a historic monument in 1969.
With a plethora of thoughtful services and amenities to provide an elevated guest experience with amazing restaurants, lively Living Room, rooftop terraces, a luxury spa with an array of signature treatments and a thermal circuit, a green courtyard for lounging, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and abundant meeting space for small and large events.
Views overlooking Place Jacques Cartier in Old Montreal, Montreal Hotels Hotel William Gray is surrounded by restaurants and shops, and is within steps of Montreal’s most cherished attractions, to include the Old Port and the Notre-Dame Basilica.
