Friendly staff. Outdated outside, needs painting, fresh stairs and wood flooring needs a serious sanding. The rooms stench of smoke despite it being smoke free. No daily room service.
Has a country cottage feel, but can still be improved. I've slept on better beds at other three star hotels and where were the comforters? The shower was dirty and could be cleaned better. The rooms seemed outdated compared to other 3 star hotels in the area.
Convenient location between Colorado Springs and Denver. Nice beds. Room smelled musky and was small. Carpet not cleaned very well. No security lighting in the east parking lot. Property poorly maintained with high grass and weeds. Exterior looks tattered. Lost tv service for an entire day.
It was quiet and on a great property WiFi could only be used to check mail. A little dirty and certainly not up to the standard of a Ramada. Every thing was clearly dated.
Location was very good. That's all. 1. The room reeked of old sweat, disinfectant and stale smoke. 2. Bathroom reeked of pot. 3. Bathroom fixtures are on their last legs. 4. Complimentary breakfast was poorly served. The eggs, orange juice, sausage and bacon trays were constantly empty, the oatmeal was instant mixed with tepid water, the waffle station was out of butter and toppings and the cereals were two kids choices. 5. Bed was so hard parts of my body would go numb.
leaving was the best part the air conditioner would make noise all night, and the staff couldn't be bothered to consider it. I would have taken more time to complain, but it was painful obvious that it just wasn't worth my time. the room hadn't been cleaned, the finishes were on line with a hotel that charges 30 a night, not the 99 that I paid. carpet was soiled, and in poor repair.
Staff was friendly, check in was easy, room was nice, clean. Water temperature for showers/bath was all over the place. Beds were ok, but could feel the springs in the mattress.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Wished we could have enjoyed the outdoor aminities, but there was a freak snowstorm. Overall a great spot. We plan on staying here again and would recommend it to anyone. We only had one area for improvement to suggest. The indoor heating/air unit was quite noisy. Not a deal breaker by any means, just a slight discomfort. Again, over all really pleased with our experience.
Got an unexpected upgraded to one of the turrets - nice! Great location, friendly staff, beautiful room with a great bathroom - shower with body jets, a heated toilet seat, and towel warmer! The room was large enough for a king size bed which would've been nice. The hall and elevator needed a good vacuuming.
Staff was beyond friendly, hotel is quaint...will be coming back. Beautiful hotel, good buffet breakfast...and once again the staff was so great. Carpet had some stains on it,bed was off the frame. Quick fix by myself on the bed frame...everything else was great in the room. Maybe time for some new carpet :)
Location was close to downtown $19 "service fee." Why does customer service cost extra? No self-parking. Only valet parking is available for an extra charge. Old furnishings; doilies and damask...grandma would love it, we didn't. Unhelpful check-in front desk staff: he couldn't answer questions and, worse, told us to go find out ourselves without offering assistance. I was really surprised at how much he didn't care about helping us. Overall value was very low. Pay extra to stay at Broadmoor or less to stay at a small hotel nearby. This place was the perfect combination of overpriced and low quality.
Walking into The Cliff House is like stepping back in time. The history runs deep from the ornate woodworking and architectural details to historical photos and memorabilia that line the hallways. You feel transported. The location is perfect to enjoy the beauty of Garden of Gods, Pikes Peak and explore the quaint yet contemporary shops of Manitou Springs. Simple and comfortable bedding in a spacious and luxurious feeling room elevated the Junior Suite stay. Breakfast was darling in the sunlit dining room. The ornamental details continued giving clues to the number of years the space has served as a home away from home for so many. Would love to have the chance to stay at The Cliff House again and definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Parking is a bit confusing unless you've read or called about it before arrival. Same with the spa tub in the junior suite, be sure to check out the information booklet in the room for instructions prior to getting frustrated by being outsmarted by a tub.
Great history in a small tourist driven community. Filled with beautiful antiques and historic info about the hotel and surrounding town. Lumpy pillows.
location staff water decor bed
This place reminded me of a high end B&B. A historical landmark with modern amenities situated in the heart of downtown Manitou Springs. Very clean with a very nice buffet breakfast included. Definitely stay here again on out return to the area.
Some older hotels can show their age. The paint may be fresh, but the doors don't fit, windows leak cold air, and plumbing is iffy. Not here. Cliff House is maintained very well, and feels new while keeping its 19th century atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming. The restaurant is exceptional for foodies. Location is ideal, just one block off the main thoroughfare. Valet parking is strongly suggested, so shuttling luggage is done in the circle drive out front. But this a minor accommodation one would expect at a landmark that stays loyal to its heritage.
The hotel staff was polite and courteous, helped us with baggage and let us know to ask if we needed anything at all. The hotel is beautiful, idyllic almost in an area that is generally bustling with activity. The room was spacious and clean and perfect for our first night
The place was immaculate. They even touched up the paint every day! One of the best cared for properties I have stayed at.
Absolutely amazing experience. Gorgeous grounds. Friendly staff. Beautiful room. Super short walk to anything & everything. Hated to check out!!!
Located in downtown Manitou Springs made it a quick walk for shopping, restaurants, and pubs. The hotel itself was beautifully maintained and the staff could not have been friendlier. The room had a beautiful mountain view and was quite comfortable. Available valet makes your life easier when you are not using your vehicle as parking is quite difficult in the small resort town. Very pleased with our stay there.
Rooms are nice, clean and have great beds Decor in reception area is dated. It makes a poor first impression on the overall quality of this great hotel
Liked everything about this hotel The WIFI could be better and faster.
Quite and clean
Our stay here was awesome! The level of hospitality and customer service was phenomenal. We'd like to recognize one person in particular Ms.Zuzan. She ran the free continental breakfast and I was impressed by her attentiveness and friendliness. It's people like her that can make someone's stay better and even just put a smile on your face which I think is a recipe for a good day. We will definitely be staying here again because it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Not a thing was wrong.
This place is so wonderful. The room was quiet, clean, and decorated beautifully. The breakfast was 5 star as well!
This is a beautiful, tastefully decorated b & b. It is off the beaten path, but only a short drive into Manitou Springs, and another few minutes to Colorado Springs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were hoping to sample the breakfast, however if was only available during a short window in the morning, which did not fit into our plans.
the authentic southwest style decor the room was very tiny, thus difficult to maneuver around
Horrible. Noisy! Not Clean! Very Rude Staff! Pics on Internet Very Deceiving!
This place is a perfect get away. We have stayed here 4 times now because of the staff. The helped me put together a vacation for 14 people and more than accommodated us all. The staff is very knowledgeable about the area. Thank you Eagle Fire
clean and cheerful atmosphere. no
Most of the hotel and the staff The beds were horrible. Worst 2 nights of sleep I have ever had. I did not stay all the way through the last night. Woke up at 3 and got in the car and left. Hotel is nice but they need bed upgrades. Better beds in a roadside &30/night motel.
I got a dog room, first floor for me and my Labrador. Really easy for the pooch and room to walk him. If you set your expectation low, you'll be surprised - it was a little better than advertised with big rooms. Nice staff and a great Karaoke experience on Friday nights. Again, it's not the W, but it fit the bill.
No sign along US 24 to find the hotel; located in the wrong location when using maps on the Web to locate. Mattress was a disaster; toilet was broken and ran constantly until we shut it off so we could sleep. Staff promised to fix when we advised them of it at check-out. Pretty worn facility.
