Pros: Blackbird is a rare find. The accommodation and general facilities are absolutely world class and hosts James and Stella are simply wonderful. We cannot rate this beautiful place high enough! Outstanding and we cannot wait to return. Well done guys a true credit to hard work and inspirational design.
Cons: The fact that we had to leave
Pros: This modern bnb is so special. Not just because of the decor but the community that Stella and James create from the moment you go there with themselves and the other guests is so unique. Also one of the most beautiful sunrises from bed I've ever seen!
Cons: We loved everything honestly, only thing was if you're looking for convenience this place is a little out of the way but totally with worth it. It is beautiful.
Pros: Great breakfast, friendly staff, prized location somewhat isolated away from the city that we were wanting to escape from, beautiful views, but close enough to Mullumbimbi and the National Parks that it is not a chore to go there. The small boutique nature of the property means that you are well and personally cared for and not treated as another " visitor " The room is very clean, luxurious, well maintained, and thoughtfully furnished. The dining area and pool is very avant garde and tastefully and comfortably furnished. We had a great time.
Cons: We would have wanted to stay longer, but needed to move on
Pros: This resort offers a true escape from reality. It’s the perfect location if you’re looking to unwind, disconnect and meditate on life. I loved the views, the design of the rooms and technology, the magnesium pool and hospitality. They were extremely accommodating! It a pleasure to be one of the first guests to stay at Blackbird and I very much look forward to seeing it grow.
Pros: James was extremely hospitable right from the beginning nothing was too much trouble. He made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as perfect as possible which it was. Thank you James we will be returning again next time for a longer stay.
Pros: Everything was perfect and James & Stella are the most thoughtful , welcoming hosts ! Nice breakfast and the view was spectacular!
Cons: Nothing .
Pros: Everything the view the breakfast the uniqueness of the property is stunning. And James and Stella could not be more delightful. We were one of the first ever guests and there was no one single hitch truly a great experience .
Pros: Absolutely amazing place! James was an extremely welcoming host. His meticulous eye for detail is shown throughout Blackbird. We will be back. :-)
Pros: As a new retreat my partner and I were lucky to have the amazing pool to ourselves for 4 hours after breakfast on a sunny Sunday. Clear and clean from a mineral system rather than chlorine or salt it was a delight. Plus with sensational views to the coast.
Cons: Let me tell you after our return trip.
With a stay at The Mullum Motel in Mullumbimby, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of North Byron Parklands and Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great location. Very clean and friendly staff room service.
Cons: The loud music from the next door venue on Saturday night.
Pros: Great location ok beds great price
Cons: Hair in the shower plug was gross / couldn’t help wondering how dirty everything else was that I couldn’t see
Pros: Quiet. Clean.
Cons: Reception two blocks away in a pub - difficult to find to check in. Noisy heater. Budget feel, clean, simple accommodation.
Pros: It would be helpful that on booking the client were told that after noon the room keys have to be picked up from the Middle Pub.The staff were helpful but it would just save a double back visit.D
Pros: Great central location; very comfortable bed; large window with good light & ventilation; functioning air conditioner; some nice looking wine & beers in the room; clean & fresh
Cons: Unable to make phone contact - lengthy self promo for the Motel & also the (co-owned?) Middle Pub ; then a number of options for services that are never answered & no return call from voicemail; key pick & return was unique (i.e at the pub) & no map or further directions - good luck finding someone to help. Bathroom was very very basic & water temp never exceeds lukewarm; no tourist info about where to eat or what's around the area; other guests complaints about lack of wifi access/password. An overall sense of local indifference and tourists being an unwelcome intrusion.
Cons: shower not hot very little water
Cons: There was no hot water! and no staff to contact about it .
Cons: the entire room. for that price you should definitely CLEAN IT PROPERLY.
