Munnar hotels near Carmal Church

Cons: We stayed in cinnamon cottage, which, we were told had a balcony n all. But what they failed to mention was that balcony has a pretty high wall which blocks any view whatsoever!!!!! What is the point of having a balcony if you were going to build a high wall around it ??? Overall we felt the place way overpriced for what it provides. There are better hotels in Munnar at lower prices.

Pros: The fresh food, friendly staff and amazing views!

Cons: Nothing we had a fantastic time! The pool will be a great addition

Pros: A really beautiful location - cottage style rooms set into a wooded hillside. Driving to the location initially felt worryingly remote, but it was not a problem at all. Tuk tuks, jeeps and cars all came to the hotel to transport us to our various activities. Fabulous views from the patio/balcony and even better from the restaurant (at the top of the site). It was like dining in the tree canopy. The staff simply could not have been more helpful - our 2 or 3 requests on arrival were met for us within the hour. Reception staff helped us to organise the hiking and tours we wanted to do in the Munnar area - again within a very short timeframe of our arrival. The restaurant was excellent and again the staff were superb.

Pros: The staff, it was my birthday and they sorted a special table with balloons and flowers away from everyone else. The accommodation was excellent, th ed restaurant's choices very good, the views and peaceful surroundings superb. .

Cons: A small thing...no fridge in the bedroom....also the road is being re-done getting to the hotel and so the last bit of the journey was even more bumpy!

Pros: Great hotel with lots of options for activities on the property as well as access to cars to take you into Munnar town for the day. We engaged with the daily walks, tea tastings and other activities by the resort and really thought these were helpful for learning about Munnar and Kerala.

Cons: Rooms were slightly damp (with the climate, not their fault), and so would recommend leaving out clothing, anything else so that it doesn't mold.

Pros: - food was good and not expensive - staff was very helpful - breakfast included in the price and they were so kind as to accommodate our special requests - a free 7 kilometer morning guided walk was included in the tea plantations! great idea and very good for tourists. - room was good, comfortable bed and bathroom also very good. - room view was also good - drinking fountain was provided in corridor - welcome tea - location not far from city center and restaurants

Cons: everything was OK. maybe bigger balcony with chairs? that's all I can think of.

Pros: Spacious rooms. Thankful to staff for upgrading me to a suite. Good location just at the entry of munnar. View is just for namesake.

Cons: The food. Be it room service order or the buffet, the quality of food was not at all of standard.

Pros: Location is good. Tasty welcome drinks. Staff was welcoming -helpful. Great breakfasts -wide choice-local and continental meals. Complimentary filtered water -unlimited WiFi good a bit slow. Fridge in the room Tea -coffee free of charge-as complimentary. Close to bus stands-easy to reach. Munnar hill station ca 2-3 km Hot shower-shower gel-soap-dental kit provided.

Cons: Furniture a bit outdated-it must have been a high class place at the beginnings that has lost a bit of its shine during the following years. Back garden is not maintained -could be improved as facing the river and greens.

Pros: We had our room upgraded on arrival and the views from the higher windows across the tea plantations were beautiful. The staff were very helpful arranging a driver to take us to see all the places we wanted to go. The food in the restaurant was good and breakfast choices plentiful. The Managers tea plantation early morning walk was a highlight. We liked the location a bit away from the centre of town but quieter and easy to get into the town centre.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay very much; the staff were very pleasant and helpful, even taking us to the bus depot when we left. The hotel is in a good location, just a short tuk tuk ride from the main town area. The scenery surrounding the town is stunning.

Cons: Although the room had several electrical sockets, many of if them did not work.

Pros: Amazing place if you want to spend some quality time with ur loved one....really humble staff...they have tree house n tent house..if u are looking to book tree house book early because it gets sold out quickly..

Pros: The staff and there helpful nature and ofcourse the property and location. Especially prince , Shyamnath and the staff who were working there or farming.

Cons: The property was at great location and staff was really Caring and helpful. I only thought that the tent could have been more warmer with blankets and can be little for cleaner and dry. May be a heater in all the room will also help. The carpet on the floor was not that clean. Also due to phone issue we were not able to get the jeep. May be u should inform ur guest a specific time to reach Munnar and exactly where in Munnar they should come. But overall it was a great place . We were 4 girls and we were taken care of really well. Thanks you so much .

Pros: Scenic location

Cons: Do not stay here. There are so many things wrong with this ridiculously overpriced place I don’t know where to start. First of all, The tree house is nothing like it looks in the pictures. The room is dirty and old and there is hardly any lighting in the room. The bedding is damp and the bathroom smells. There were no towels in the bedroom when we got there. The communication with the ‘resort’ were appalling - we had to wait for the Jeep to take us up there for over an hour even though we called in advance as instructed by them. The same again when we wanted to get a Jeep back to Munnar later in the day and back. However the WORST thing about our stay was the fact that there were rats and squirrels running around the room all night. We were not able to sleep and found rat faeces in the room in the morning. There were also rats running around the restaurant at dinner time. We were meant to stay 2 nights however only stayed for one. When we tried to get a refund (giving all of the above as reasons) we were by the extremely rude staff. Overall I strongly advise not to stay there. The picture shows how dark the room is during the day with all lights on. Also pictured the animal urine on the floor.

Pros: Rather moth-eaten treehouse with fabulous views of tree canopy. Great walks nearby - up steep wooded hill to summit of ghat overlooking Mannar, or quiet, level walks in tea plantation with view of hills. Collected by jeep for thrilling drive up track from town - not for the faint hearted! Glad we were not staying in tents, they looked a bit cramped and very close together.

Cons: Resort is an Outward Bound-type training centre. Groups of businessmen doing motivational training and students playing charades can be unintentionally overwhelming company. Canteen-type restaurant the only option for meals; variety wears thin after a couple of days. Bureaucratic reservation system requires 50% deposit by bank transfer - why not by credit card?

Pros: Need more safty in night there was small animals like cat and mouse comes in tree house and net was not proper set on bed....

Cons: Flush was not properly working

Cons: The nature walk! It was a walk to building site instead! Very disappointed. Has we known this was not the nature walk, we would have stay longer at the tea factory and spend lot of money buying their stuffs.

Pros: Very warm welcome and excellent service. Room was very clean and very well maintained. Had excellent mountain view facing room and terrace also offered excellent view. One of the best resorts...I have stayed so far. The flooring is mind-boggling and very neatly architectured. Absolutely loved the stay and the entire experience.

Cons: Everything was almost perfect, food quality could be improved a bit

Pros: The views were magnificent. We were lucky to stay in a large room with balcony overlooking the tea plantation. Highly recommended to book this type of room. The room has 3 walls of floor to ceiling window so you can look out on The beautiful view from every angle in your room. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Always smiling. The food was excellent! 10/10 would recommend.

Pros: Location was amazing. Kapil , the houseguid is very friendly and helpful person!!!! Had a fantastic view of the city and was quiet for sleeping and close to nature. It was a safe neighbourhood right next to the Carmel Church and an easy 5 min walk to the city and the restaurants. Hot showers any time of the day! Rooms were clean and comfortable. The host was always helpful:) Thanks for all. Kapil, we come back !!

Pros: Very well situated to visit the town and the environnement, we have an excellent overview of the city. Warm welcome from thé owners The breakfasts were very goog Thanks for the visit of the garden. And thank you for helping us to carry the luggage in the early morning. Nous recommandons.

Cons: The room we had did not have a window, bit as this is pretty common in Indian, it did not put us off.

Cons: It was a long and steep walk from the city, take some flashlights with you. Plus. Very cold in the night when we stayed there, we both got a mild cold.

Pros: decent location up the hill away from the noise & bustle of the town. lovely friendly owner with a nice little garden & a clean comfortable room & bed & hot shower.

Cons: nice as the room was it was still a little overpriced compared to other rooms i've stayed at in many visits to india. super slow wifi was frustrating. it was advertised as having soundproofing & a flat screen tv - NEITHER of which was true. despite this we enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Kapil the house keeper is an absolute legend! Also the house a very pretty place to be.

Cons: The location is great! But due to proximity to the local temples can miss out on some peace time due to all day long prayers
