Poor
Lyn, Jan 2025
Pretty building exterior, nice soap, pretty New Orleans style decor. The beds were comfortable but it is hard to sleep with the old wall heat unit blasting stinky mold smelling air all night. The room was dirty like don’t sit on the stained dingy furniture kind of dirty and mildew in the window and shower. Old damp smoke smell in the room. The carpet was pulled and stretched at the seams and edge ...

Pros (+) Lobby. Room. Tin Roof Bar
Cons (-) Difficult to adjust air to cool. Shower removable spray comes off when water turned on and sprays in face and sprayed wife in hair outside when she used wetting entire room.. Over priced and overrated.

Mark, Jan 2017
Pros (+) The hotel is quaint and historic but updated with all the modern amenities. It's the best of both world's. Also, I don't think I've ever met a friendlier staff. Folks in NOLA are typically very friendly (and genuinely so), but everyone at the Pontchartrain, from the front desk to the bar to the housekeeping staff, seemed delighted to have us there.
Cons (-) The Garden district is a little removed from the CBD/Quarter area. Prepare to spend $$$ on taxis/Uber if you want to live it up.
