Elevators are a nightmare. Had to wait 15-20 to get an elevator to/from 24th floor. Water was turned off on 2nd day from 1pm-4pm with limited notice (small sign in elevator) that you had to look for to notice. There were no options given on alternative restroom options (I was working from my room that afternoon and on Zoom calls, and had to wait 15 mins for an elevator to take a break, go downstairs and look for a nearby restaurant where I could use a bathroom. Front desk staff was pleasant, but housekeeping and other staff during the water outage were using the elevators and cutting in front of paying guests to use elevators and were not very friendly.. As a Hilton Diamond member with @150 night a year, I have never seen such a lack of organization in any Hilton branded hotel. Rooms were typical size form a NYC mid brand but not well laid out with closet blocking suitcase rack (only place to put it).
Great people make a great experience. Excellent culture and genuinely nice people.
While I understand that space in NY is an issue, these were the tiniest rooms I've seen since my European travels. They were also in a poor state. The bottom bathroom shelf was broken and had broken a tile and the handles on the drawers/cabinet were loose. There were issues with the elevators during our entire stay. Only 2 elevators for 27 floors and 1 was broken for about half of our days. I understand that these are mostly things that cannot be changed but just to give anyone planning a stay here an idea of what they will need to deal with.
The location was great but the room was very small and had a lot of issues. The curtain was broken, only half of the AC unit works and the shower pressure was awful. After bringing these issues to the front desk, an employee was sent to take a look but could not fix any of the issues; but nothing was done. They did not move our room, they did not give us a discount, just simply “I’m sorry, don’t worry we will fix them for the next guest”.
Pros. Staff
Cons. Location could have been better Rooms could use updating
Pros. Great location
Cons. EVERYTHING IS SMALL. Small rooms, small elevators. Just Small. Clean but Small
