The friendly stuff in the restaurants and their professional job done.Thank you! I booked a twin bed or stardered room plus an extra bed, instead became triple room been given.
It's a tea factory that has been nicely converted into a hotel. Welcome was warm. However, the room we were given when we checked in was far below the standard we expected. Poorly maintained and too small. After we created a little fuss we were put into a decent room (like most of the rooms at the hotel). They apparently gave us the smaller room cos it had a better view. Anyways we had mixed feeling and thought of writing a very bad review of the hotel but then overall experience was good. Little higher priced than it should be and 14 km away from the city with last 4 kms in a very bad shape. You will think twice before going back to the main Nuwara Eliya. We ended up staying at the hotel. However, enjoyed the nice walks in tea gardens. One of the waiters would stand over our heads while we were eating. had a very overbearing presence and would keep disturbing us every now and then. Staff is not best trained. Too far away from the city. Once you are here, better decide to be here.
We loved having dinner in the railway carriage - that was amazing, Also loved the decor of the building, the beautiful setting and we had a very good massage We loved this hotel but I do think it could do with a swimming pool and/or some sun loungers outside. would have also have been nice to see the local village gaining greater access to the wealthy tourists - why not help them set up a craft market in the village? Or something like that.
