10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast served in the beach front. All food is very tasty. Please try the fresh pasta with lobster, we suggested her to changed the name of this dish to "piece of heaven". Yvonne is an amazing woman always worried with the guests. All the staff is super friendly, always smiling, the clock doesn't matter at Sangany Lodge. You can have whatever you want, whenever you want. The bed is very comfortable, the best one we had in all 3 weeks of Nosy Be. We also did the relaxing massage, wow, it was so good. When we are back to Nosy Be, definitely we will be back to this place, the best one. We were looking for a place where we could relax, enjoy the sea, eat very well... we found it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had amazing stay in this lovely paradise for 2 weeks. Great and helpful staff, taking care about every detail, every day. Seafood outstanding! The Manager Yvonne always on hand to help arrange all the excursions, dive trips, everything you need. The clock really doesn't matter in this place. We really would like to go there and stay again Pawel & Joanna
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, quiet as it's on the north side of the island. Very good food, lovely staff and the owner is always on hand to help arrange excursions, dive trips or whatever else you may want to try. We arrived a day late due to a flight cancellation and it was no problem at all. Nice touches such a fresh flowers throughout the room on arrival and a welcome fresh coconut. I would happily go back and stay there again.
Cons: Nothing. The place far exceeded my expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is by far the best hotel in Nosy Be, even if the others look better on pictures, this one looks even a lot better in reality. the food, the staff and the owner are amazing. You cannot get more pampered and spoiled than here.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The accommodation is exquisite. The boutique bungalows are absolute luxury with beautiful decoration and incredible finish. Lovely views
Cons: Would be great if there were some kayaks or canoes to use as beach in front of sangany can't really swim from and limited places to walk and explore. It doesn't have a pool and was by far the most expensive place we stayed in Madagascar.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All round great value for money. Very spacious well appointed rooms in a great location. What really gives Sangany the edge is Yvonne’s hands on management of the lodge. Her advice and knowledge with regards to travel around the region is invaluable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Madam Yvonne is the beating heart of this heaven and run this place to perfection!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alberto is a soul of the place,,he treated me like a member of the family
Cons: The stay was too short
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place to stay in Madagascar. Best food, best beach and the best host. Paradise 10/10
6.7 Good
Pros: This place is special, great atmosphere, great food, great beach, the host and team are kind and welcoming. Alberto is incredibly nice and generous.
Cons: Noisy. Crowded. Bungalows very close to each other you can’t really escape from it. 6am - sweeping near the bungalow wakes me up 2 days in a row. Tried to ask for it to be later and it didn’t help. 7am - workers spitting loudly when walking near bungalow you hear everything from the bungalow, staff walking near the bungalow speaking loudly. Clearly no awareness that inside are vacationing people relaxing and maybe sleeping. 2 pm - construction working, hammers and power tools building a school right near the camp (which is very important cause! but if i had known that 50 meters from my bungalow there’s construction I would have not booked there) 5pm-10pm generator near the kitchen. Bare in mind for things i seemed to miss when I booked this: electricity is only part of the day rooms are quite dark no warm water. No fan in the room - it gets warm at night. Disclaimer: I am sure many people don’t mind any of this, and it is still a very nice place, but I came to a beach resort to relax and feel the nature: waves, birds, trees - found no serenity unfortunately, the opposite - morning and nights were tense with very little relaxation. I told the Alberto’s manager about the noise and hopefully things will get better (or not - maybe that’s how it is and it’s ok too). Alberto payed for the my taxi to my next hotel and was very kind and generous and I wish him all the best.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This was one of my favourite stays on the islands. The food is superb - Italian style with local, fresh seafood, every dish was something different, exceptional. The location was the best on the island, long stretch of private, quiet beach, clear turquoise water, clean sand, just idyllic and beautiful. The owner Alberto was amazing, always greeting everyone and making sure eveything was okay - and he organised a boat trip to snorkel with turtles at a super cheap price, that was the highlight of my stay! The room itself (small double) was very small, just room for the bed and a bedside stand and shelves, and small bathroom, but this was totally comfortable and although the smallest bungalow was also the best location - on the end with its own hammock, sunbed and seating area. Absolute bliss.
Cons: No wifi during the stay but didn't need it. No hot water in the showers, they are warm / tepid which also was not a problem at all since it was so hot here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place!! BOOK. NOW!!! Bungalows are sitting on a very quiet beach, and they are comfy and spacious. Alberto is THE BEST host! The food was incredible, and it was so much fun to stay there. Amazing amazing experience overall!
Cons: Nothing!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is an unspoilt paradise with pristine beach and ocean. We felt extremely safe. The staff are wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay unforgettable. Alberto, the owner, is both engaging and generous and we walked away feeling part of the family. We will definitely return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view is incredible. Alberto and his staff, especially Olga and Babba, are extremely helpful and will do everything to make your stay fantastic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Alberto was a superb host and really made our stay a pleasure.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location!!! Cannot fault the location and staff. Amazing!!! Paradise!! I regretted sharing my time on Nosey Be main island. travelled solo but there was always an activity going on.
Cons: Amenities are basic (but enough) but location and staff superseded my expectations. You will not have any regret.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great small eco resort run by Alberto. Alberto is contributing significantly to the Ampasindava Nosy Sakatia community. Food and drink in their tiny restaurant was excellent! Enjoyed the good swimming beach and snorkeling. Nice quiet place to sit back and relax.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the hotel is right next to the beach and that the staffs are so friendly and nice. Always with a big smile even when they are struggling to answer in English, they always manage to find another way. Penelope the dog is so cute and we felt like she welcomed us and didn't leave our site. Oh, and the cook is so good with its European flavor. Last but not least, the owner Jan was very nice and kind enough to set a pick up from the airport on our arrival day and also telling us places to go/visit, and helping us with some translations

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Secluded location away from the crowds. Seaside bungalows with stunning view. Unbelievable sunsets. The owner, Philippe, gladly helps you with everything he can. Kayaks and snorkeling gear complimentary, pool table in the loungebar. Strong mojitos. There is a coral reef 200m from the hotel. The hotel restaurant is very good. Activities available directli from hotel.
Cons: There was absolutely no hot water throughout the whole stay. There were mice in the bungalow aswell as an army of ants. The bungalows need refurbishing, maintenance seems sloppy. Breakfast never varies, same every day, not too much to choose from, no vegetables for breakfast. It is allright if you only stay a few days, but for a week it gets boring.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location of the beach bungalows was fantastic and v private. They were well designed and very Malagasy. They were also very clean and cleaned every day. The infinity pool was to die for beautiful and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great varied breakfast.
Cons: The bungalows were showing wear and tear and really need an upgrade. We had a 4 inch gap between our door and wall and many of the window slats did not close. There was no hot water in our bungalow despite Phillipe the owner telling us it was only available while the sun was out as solar panel heating. This we didn’t mind but when I had had no hot water for 3 days he explained that that was because we were in a bungalow to the right of the main building. Only those to the left get hot water. Yet we all pay the same. Our friends had hot water. He said he would sort a hot shower for me next day. I was intrigued. When it came it was a bucket of hot water and a jug. I would expect this of cheap Malagasy hotels but not of more upmarket places. There was no electricity in the afternoon which also meant no internet.Even in an eco lodge for £15 per night we had hot water and electricity. The resort was in a lovely secluded part of the island which was great but one could only get breakfast, lunch and dinner at set times. There was no snack bar or shop or way of getting food if you missed a meal. The nearest town was £28 return taxi fair away. Phillipe was very keen to promote his organised tours which were set to include lunch and various sights and pretty expensive. He was less keen on providing information for tuk Tuks and short boat trips etc. It was difficult to get this information and we had to go to Helle ville to find it. Which of course involved expensive hotel taxi fares. Phillipe went through the motions of being a perfect host but it was just that. He would ask “How are you.” On passing But he didn’t stop for an answer. When we arrived we had had a horrible experience on the hotel provided pick up ( which we paid for ) I tried to explain but he was not interested. He had switched off and was on his message of how great his hotel was and what great trips we could buy.An idyllic location and a hotel which, with a little thought could have been great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place was absolutely beautiful, it was clean, the food was delicious. The owner Philippe was very hospitable and very helpful in terms of getting around and helping to organize tours and excursions. The staff did an impeccable job at keeping the grounds and rooms spotless and beautiful. There was also a lovely coral reef just a few meters from the shore to enjoy as well as a mangrove you could easily kayak to. Philippe lent his guests kayaks and snorkels free of charge. I almost forgot to mention how incredible it was to stay in the beach front bungalows with the ocean right at your doorstep and the sounds of the waves rocking you to sleep at night.
Cons: It took a few days for me to warm up to the staff, and I’m not sure why. The owner was welcoming right from the outset, but it took a few days for me to feel welcomed by the rest of the staff. Also, I am a mosquito magnet and even though there wasn’t a ton of mosquitos, the only refuge after sunset was your bed under the mosquito net or wear DEET. Lastly it was a bit far from most activities I ended up doing, but they always made sure I could have a driver bring me there and back so you didn’t feel it as much. But overall I would 100% stay there again!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow was extraordinary and you felt you were trransfered to a different world. The infinity pool was gorgeous and you could just relax in a very serene environment. The owner, Philip, is one of the most attentive hosts I have ever met and that definitely gives his resort extra points. Highly recommended for people who wish to relax in a beautiful setting.
Cons: There is no hot water even though a bucket of hot water was provided for shower. That is the only thing that needs to be improved. It would be a good idea to add a telephone in the room in cases something is needed from the reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was fantastic
Cons: The sea view bungalows do not have airconditiong like the other rooms
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is splendid views with great reception.
Cons: Towels and bedsheets were remain the same for 3 days. It requires daily replacement. No electricity from 2-5 PM daily.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Utterly amazing. Apart from the location being stunning, Jean Marc & Massimo we’re beyond amazing hosts, they both and the staff at the accommodation saw to our every need. We wanted for nothing. I could not recommend this accommodation more, it was dreamy. The food was perfect, very a la crate and the rooms were kept spotless. One of our party was ill for the first day of the stay (unrelated to Nosy Be) and Jean Marc could not have been more attentive and made sure she was looked after. It felt more like you were guests in there home and were family rather than a big standard guest at a hotel. Absolutely amazing stay - thank you for making us all so welcome.
Cons: Nothing negative to add
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived at the hotel, even though we were way too early, we were warmly welcomed with a breakfast by Jean-Marc (the owner). During our stay he was extremely accommodating, had a special eye for details, very thoughtful, cooking delicious meals, taking us to his beach resort in ambaro and after learning we were newly engaged he prepared a special diner with complementary champagne for us. He and his staff really now what hospitality and service is all about.
Cons: A minor detail; although it looked great, the room was a bit to dark and the lighting could therefore be improved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location amazing surrounded by Madagascar forest, flowers and trees. walking distance from the beach, few minutes from night life for restaurants. Every house has private terrace, garden and pool. With amazing view. Every room is personalized with African wooden style. Staff and owner Jean Marc are always available to help you with tips and make dream came true as private diners in house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel/B&B is located amongst the mango trees on a hill above the beach. There are two villas with a pool in between them. We had a room on the second floor with a wonderful view to the ocean and over the pool. The bathroom view was towards the farmland behind the villas. There was a great breeze and also a fan if it was too hot. The bathroom is very tastefully done and each room has a unique decor. The posted photos accurately reflect what you'll find. You can use the sitting rooms of either villa. The food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious. They make their own bread and the menu varies each day. We weren't clear that each course is itemized so you only pay what you eat (vs. a menu fixe). The pool is refreshingly cool and the staff brought towels as soon as they saw you there. Reading in the shade of the trees next to the pool was very relaxing. Jean Marc (owner) is a gracious host who wants to make sure your stay is pleasant. He offered good recommendations on where to go, offered to organize an airport taxi and we had good conversation before dinner. There is a second property right on the beach (Madagacar Resort Ambaro Beach) that is worth a visit to relax on the beach. He has a great staff as well. Anglophones may find communication challenging. We would definitely stay longer on a future visit (we stayed 2 nights).
Cons: Our only suggestion is that some of the walkways get some attention as the boards are decaying with nails poking up making barefoot walking a tad treacherous.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The only thing we did not like was the horribly loud music on Sunday night which spoilt our first night. We would seriously consider not coming back if that is allowed to continue in the night club across the bay. You must try to stop the night club. Get a petition together to stop the loud music on Sunday night. It ruined the tranquility of Ambatoloaka.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size of rooms, beautiful views over the bay
Cons: We arrived after 11 pm due to a 5 hour flight delay and there was no food or even small snacks available at the hotel. We would have liked to get at least some fruits but everything was shut down. Our room was a bit dark
7.9 Good
Pros: The landscape is fantastic. The bungalow where we stayed in is embedded into the hill. Large sea view terrace. The floor of the room is made with cement. The roof with local materials appropriate to cool under hot weather. The design, every details of the bungalow were agreeably present and refined. The lodge really deserves it’s nomination as Eco lodge. We like that there were no electricity during the day in the room, in line with their energy saving policy. The food was tasty and nice, portion is a bit small if you have a big appetite. We appreciate that the check-in/out times are flexible with the flight arrival/departure. The two swimming pools, one with overflow design and salt water, the other one with sweet water.
Cons: Light smell of damp wood in the drawers. The staff is very disparate. Some staff are really pleasant, smiling and assisting. Others are slightly arrogant, not tactful. Our first problem was on the evening of 08/09/2019, we wanted to order an early breakfast because of our flight. The man at the reception kindly said that it is possible and that we just need to inform the personnel at the bar and the kitchen. The man and woman at the bar informed us that it is not possible, it is too early and they don’t have staff. We told them that the man at the reception told us this was possible. The answer was just that they only start at 06h00. We came back to the man at the reception, after a call to the bar,he arranged everything and we could have breakfast the next morning. Thanks to him for his professionalism. The second problem was because I had a 3rd guest who joined us in between the stay and left only one day later. I was inviting these people and before I left, I asked at the reception to pay everything in order that my guest who stayed one day later does not have to bother on any payment, excluding indeed extra food that she may order after I leave. I get the bill and pay. To my surprise my guest told me that she still need to pay extra cost related to the room. After a discussion on the phone with the lady at the reception, things were settled in the end. However, I find the phone discussion with the lady at the reception not tactful and not customer’s oriented. Furthermore, my guest should never have seen the details of the bill as you do not show to people what value is their gift. Another issue is the feeling that the staff is more helpful toward foreigners ’client in comparison to local Malagasy one. The number “+261320220361” is “never” available. I hope these comments help, as the infrastructure, everything is really worth the visit. And my say is after staying in many hotels in a lot of countries. 2 incidents within a 4 nights stay is too much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation was luxurious and clean , with lovely staff, especially the young girls on reception who couldn’t have been more helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was gorgeous, location, food, accomodation and the staff superb, especially Aubin, Arsene and the restaurant manger Franc. Would strongly recommend this place.
Cons: if I have to find one negative aspect it was the fact that the bungalows are a bit dark but for us it was not a major problem.
7.9 Good
Pros: Waterbungalows are spacious and well-appointed with great views. Do be aware that it is not a private beach and that there can be foot traffic going past during low tide.
Cons: The beach clubs can get a bit noisy on Saturday nights and the noise does travel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Infrastructure, the touch ecolochic, the menu. Frank was very helpful in organizing excursions
Cons: Restaurant staff is disorganized and superslow. The beach is not very good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decor, pools and restaurant are great
Cons: No real beach

10.0 Excellent
Pros: wonderful stay!
Cons: Everything was fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice and helpful staff (I had birthday during my stay and they organised dinner for me - it was really unexpected). Swimming with turtles is unbelievable (you can even take kayak if you don't want to swim from the beach). You can also see wild lemurs and whales during the season - it was extraordinary. There is not so many tourists on the island so you can relax and enjoy beauty of the nature all day long.
Cons: If you want to eat outside of the hotel you have to report it and book a table at local restaurant, but I don't consider it as a minus though it might be helpfull information.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - food, scuba dive, snorkeling.......
Cons: nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nosy Lodge is the only place you would want to stay in Nosy Be! The hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach in Ambondrona right outside the much busier Ambatoloaka where most og the shops, bars and restaurants are. The property is a gorgeous garden with a lovely pool directly overlooking the beach and the ocean. The water reaches all the way up to the wall of the hotel at high tide, making it the perfect place for enjoying the beach and swimming. The rooms are AMAZING, all (I believe) having astonishing views of the garden, ocean and beach! We were upgraded to the upper floor room, which consisted of two stories, a private balcony (with fantastic views), modern AC, a big shower, and very comfortable bed with mosquito nets. The interior is very tasteful and rooms exceptionally clean. The staff at Nosy Lodge is the friendliest and most helpful. Sylvie, the woman running the hotel, is also a fantastic lady. They accommodated all of our needs, and were always around to assist or have a chat. They also provide any excursions you can imagine by a tour operator at the hotel, and a great diving center just adjacent. The restaurant at Nosy Lodge serves a good buffet breakfast, and dishes up exquisite food for both lunch and dinner. Do not miss their occasional buffet dinners, serving the tastiest and freshest food we had in Madagascar. The best thing about the hotel, however, is that it has a very local touch, and that the property is very open to its surroundings. Much better than the more fancy and sealed off resorts along the coast of Nosy Be. Truly one of the best hotel experiences of my life. Merci beaucoup, Nosy Lodge.
Cons: Would be helpful if it was possible to pay by visa-card.

7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful small resort with lovely gardens and pool. Only 6 bungalows. Very nice and friendly staff. Owner is french so easy to communicate in western terms and he welcomed feedback. We speak french and we only spoke in french there so I'm actually not sure how well they speak english. There were other non-native french speaking guests though. Clean resort and lovely food. Calm atmosphere. They gave us a drink at check in so we could relax after our trip. The staff prepared the mosquito nets and sprayed the bungalow at night so we didnt get bitten. This was definately appreciated.
Cons: 10 min walk from village on dirt track with no streetlights. Noisy neighbours at night but at least it's not on the main strip which is really noisy. No doors on toilet and bathroom in bungalow, just a curtain. However this does seem to be a common phenomenon in Mada. There is only enough hot water for 2 showers and there were 4 of us in the bungalow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome by the owners , the staff was really nice and helpful , the food was really good ( staek was perfectly cooked )
Cons: The difference of price between booking and the paiement on spot ( anyway it was corrected )
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice. It’s close to town.
Cons: The room was like sleeping in a dark, depressing tomb. The shower was literally just a trickle of water.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A great find, perfect location close to the marina, and not far from nightlife.
Cons: Credit card payments for extras to be paid for on check out would help. There are not many ATMs, and they are not reliable in Nosy Be!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my stay at Claire de Lune. Honestly it was better than I was expecting as price was quite affordable. I was reveived with a very nice welcome drink, rooms were lovely and clean, and the staff was very nice and helpfull! Also the place is surrounded by plants, which give a nice natural environment. To get there you go through a short road in bad condition and not a very great area, however I think the location is centric and near by Ambatoloaka, where you can find restaurants and shops.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice bungalows - calm and well furnished The location - 10 min by foot to the center Nice swimming pool Great food and good value for money
Cons: The road by car is a bit chaotic The beds are a too short for someone higher than 1m80 and the sheets are a bit rough.
7.9 Good
Pros: Really great food in good prices. Nice and helpful staff.
Cons: Generator (probably from neighbours) was so loud during some nights, that it was difficult to sleep...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped me organize excursions, and when I got sick, they brought me medicine, water and light food. Thank you!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean hotel. Beds and bathrooms are comfortable. The room is cleaned every night. Fresh towels provided on a daily basis. Helpful staff. Good price for the airport transfer organized by the hotel.
Cons: The actual location of the hotel does not correspond to its Google Maps location. The hotel is near to Ampasy and this is pretty far away from the beach and the main tourist area. It is like 2 km north from its Google Maps location. The breakfasts were boring - only bread and jam. We had to buy fruits and vegetables on our own.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and amazing host
Cons: No view

Pros: Far away from the buzzy-busy Nosy Be « hot spots », this remote eco-lodge, keeps you quietly comfortable, close to diving spots and real places of interest. Their tenders are nicely available for good advices, in any field you may ask. All personnel behaved very friendly and professionally. We will definitely recommend
Cons: Access lane may be a bit tricky for too small cars in rainy conditions or tired walkers (rainy conditions or not)
7.1 Good
Pros: Facility quality as European standars
Cons: The location is up in a hill
7.9 Good
Pros: The view is superb. A very quite place. Extremely clean room. Near Sakatia island with excellent snorkeling.
Cons: Bad internet
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food! Natalie is a wonderful host and went out of her way to make me feel most welcome and comfortable. Amazing ocean views, a very clean and comfortable room and a beautiful setting made for the perfect place to relax.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The scenery is spectacular - sweeping views of the coastline, sunset over Nosy Sakatia, and the glittering sky full of stars at night. In the morning I sat in the gazebo and watched the birds, and at night I heard nothing but crickets and geckos.
Cons: The wifi was only on when the owners were there, but this was not really a problem - I walked down the road to the closest hotel and bought a drink to use their wifi.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We Had a great time thanks to the well organized and friendly Ecolodge team. The view is gorgeous and It is great to have the diving center near by as well as someone who speaks french and english fluently. The owner organized excursions and everything in the lodge including all Transfers and delicious Food for us. We did Not miss a swimming Pool as the sea is just 10 min away by feet. By the way we gave the Lodge the nickname ‚Geckolodge‘ (Instead of Ecolodge) due to the plenty lovely geckos around. :)

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: staff does not speak English and also rude. Had to wait at reception upon check in as no body in reception. very noisy from room out as no insulation in room walls. room smelled damp and was humid. ordered rice and grilled fish. Fish was very hard and not fresh. rice were old cooked with smell. Had a small kiddie pool too dirty to swim. street leading to entrance has dogs and slums. Bee Breakfast had no choices. would not stay and not recommend staying there.Had booked for 2 nites. checked out after 1 nite.
Cons: every thing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money.
Cons: I wish there was wifi in my room!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden setting, nice swimming pool (clean), lovely restaurant with superb food which was good value, bungalows were beautifully made out of local materials, comfy bed, loads of hot water for showers, effective fans. Superb selection of flavour rums!
Cons: Deserts were a little pricey compared to the excellent value for the mains dishes. Not very near to the beach, but we chose this because we wanted to be near to Hell-Ville rather than a beach. Great for us, but others may wish to be near a beach.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and pool
Cons: The location isn't that good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast with a crepe and toasted homemade bread and jam. Fruit for breakfast too. The bed had really good reading lights i.e. they could be switched on and off from within the mosquito net. Perfect! The restaurant in the evening is very good too.
Cons: The location was not so ideal. But tuk tuks are plentiful and very cheap, so no big deal.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was bungalow style accommodation - very good price - not luxurious - but interesting.
Cons: On Friday Saturday and Sunday night VERY loud music blasts up from the town below and goes till the early hours of the morning - not much fun!

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The owners are polite and so is the staff. The quiche was really nice.
Cons: The facilities are bare minimum, the photos are overly deceiving. I feel it's false advertising. It's more like a loggers place even thought the prices charged are close to 4 star hotels in the area. The roof of the room leaked all night, there is no ventilation to the room, no tea and coffee facilities in the room. We booked for a bungalow but we were shoved into a small dingy chalet which is worse then my basement. None of the staff spoke English. The owners are welcoming though and tried their best to make it pleasant. We decided to leave the place a day before because it was leaking in the rain but owners still decided to charge us for the night we didn't stay, rather then giving as discount for the inconvenience it caused us. We booked I to Vanilla spa and hotel which is a 4 star hotel and they charged us approximately same amount per night. Really disappointed. The bedsheets stink of sweat, we had to cover it with our towels.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: All the rest was perfect, most of all the staff and hosts
Cons: Old and almost dangerous furniture
9.6 Excellent
Pros: very well organized french hotel. Hosts are happy to share stories, about name origin of their hotel, their puppies Icare and Coco. oh and you'll be surprized to find yourself in your homecoutry environment as host plays classic music according to clients nationalities, super warm feeling.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accommodating, helpful and friendly staff. Owners are on hand daily to chat and answer questions. Nothing was too much trouble. Menu limited (especially for vegetarians) but food was consistently good and chef happy to cook to menu variations to order. The hotel is on a hill overlooking two bays, with stunning views from bungalows, pool and hotel restaurant. There is 5 minute walk to the beach below, used by fishermen, and best done guided by the friendly hotel dog who knows the way, and will wait to bring you back. The pool is not large, but it is cleaned daily, and offers amazing views over one of the bays. The bungalows are clean, full of character with good size beds for adults. Shower / toilet room had plenty of hot water and clean towels. There are mosquito nets for each bed, electric fans for each room and air con available at night (but the units are old, so fans used more).
Cons: None of the things mentioned below really detracted from our stay, but may be useful to know for future guests. The bungalows are traditional, therefore quite dark inside, and this is not helped by the decor - coloured walls rather than light reflecting white. The lights inside are not very bright. But this is only a problem if you need to spend a lot of time inside in the evenings. Unfortunately the internet can be unreliable. We thought to buy a local SIM and data package, were not able to source anything easily during our stay. This is mainly because the hotel is some distance from the nearest town, and there is nothing available at the airport on arrival. There is no wifi in the bungalows, but this does mean that the public hotel areas are therefore well used. Bring plenty of cash. Payment for the hotel must be done by bank transfer (incurring additional costs for international transfers), or cash (Euro and Ariary, no US Dollars). Guests must pay by cash for bills during stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and very devoted staff. The facilities are definitely one of a kind in Nosy Be. Would recommend to anyone.
Cons: Some of the items on menu are a bit over priced.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice relaxing place with awesome views all around. Staff is very friendly, food is lovely, as is their dog Icard. Massages were very nice as were the organized trips. We did the Nosy Sakatia one to swim with the turtles and the quad. All perfectly arranged. Room is basic but comfortable and has fans to keep you cool. It is very nice that you have your own balcony to relax.
Cons: You cannot really snorkel from the beach at this location, but they can organize snorkeling trips for you. Nice music but sometimes too loud, but that was adjusted when asked
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great choice of excursions. If not going out, great place to spend the whole day, as well. Very good in house restaurant. Truly responsible tourism, in close touch with the local community. Very personal touch and care for each client. Beautiful ambiance on the terrace all day long, with guests from all over the world.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful infinity pool and restaurant. No English spoken but the staff were very polite and the owner was super in helping organize trips.
Cons: Accommodation was very basic and the mosquito nets did not work well even though they provided pegs to try keep them closed. Not at the beach so you need to take a taxi. The taxi ride from airport was a really run down car. For €44 paid to the hotel I would have expected better, safer transport. They seemed to insist on us booking their set menu at €22 at night and did not inform us of the a la carte menu which would have sufficed for our family. We used the a la carte menu for the second night.
