I mean, I knew it wasn’t gonna be a five star stay for the price. But, wow this room is a mess. There’s so much damage to the walls, the furniture, the lamp shades. The bathroom sink and shower stall are both cracked. They take a $100 deposit for damage, and I’ve gotta wonder if they’ve actually used that to repair the room from whoever did all this damage. Also, this queen sized bed is absolutely a full sized bed and somehow came to a bit of a peak in the center? I can’t see any real resemblance between this room and the pictures on the website. Now for the cleanliness. That’s easy, the room was filthy. There are spots of god knows what above the bathroom sink, on the heater/AC unit, greasy residue all over the desk, and the smell is not great. That’s actually being kind, the smell is bad. I had to go buy multiple candles to burn pretty much nonstop and that was only a little helpful.
Pros. I'm always impressed with the level of work, friendliness, and overall productivity/ability that the on-site employees have and use in order to do their best to take care of most anything, within reason lol, that a guest might request for. The location right in the middle of Jack London is wonderful with fantastic restaurants on every side and a fantastic view of the bay to take a stroll with whoever your travel partner might be as well. Continental that the daily and weekend rates offered by the Jack London and are absolutely beyond satisfactory in comparison to any of the other comparable options for lodging that exists in similar circumstances.
Cons. The one City assume that myself and several other previous guess that I have discussed things with would be some method to allow people that are either a - frequent guests or b-willing to pay a little extra to guarantee themselves a spot in the parking garage attached to the hotel. Several times now I have found myself after having to make an essential run off the property to come back only to be completely blocked from any sort of on-site parking being available by Also on a slightly more frivolous note if there were to be an option during checkout that would allow for at least a humble request to be given a room with a bathtub or walk-in shower depending on the guests desire. Lastly and truly of least important but still a definite possible means of positive improvement would be to offer a breakfast coupon for each person each morning of their stay instead of just the one between the two of them only to be good for one day, it seems to me that maybe you could stretch a little bit on that end of customer service.
Pros. Decent location.
Cons. Actually cleaning the room. Shower stall needs replacing, not multiple coats of paint.
Pros. The staff did their best with the poor facilities.
Cons. This is not a place for mothers and young children. Rooms were not clean until after check-in time, common bathroom looked like the homeless lived in it, ceiling tiles were missing, the door latch was on it's last legs and looked like one good kick could easily break open the door, there were no comforters in the room, the heating system was broken (they had space heaters available), the shower looked moldy, and the toilet in our room leaked a substantial amount all over the floor (when I told the front desk, she apologized and said she'd send someone right up, but I got the sense there was no budget for facility repairs and this was just a line she was forced to repeat). The continental breakfast provided shelf-stable calories from refined carbohydrates (toast, muffins, sugary cereal) but no fresh fruit or eggs.
Pros. Price. Desk made effort to get us parking space.
Cons. Sketchy neighborhood. Limited parking. Shabby interior. Dump outside window. Freight train tracks 20 feet away; trains pass every hour blowing horns. Room walls torn up. Tiny thorny thistles all over carpet. Shower door wouldn't stay shut.
Cons. Lack of cleanliness in common areas. Non-functioning elevator. Insufficient parking for paying guests. Noisy icemaket on 3rd floor
Cons. - tv didnt work - phone didnt work - air conditioning didnt work - loud train went by every hour - condom on the floor when i walked inside
Cons. It was dirty, one older white guy was very unfriendly and I got a dirty room. It was all under construction.
Pros. Accessibility to free shuttle to Bart to San Francisco and the Amtrak station
Cons. Breakfast buffet cancelled, no notice in advance. Air conditioning was broken, opened window, too noisy, did not sleep well.
Pros. There was no hot water during my 3 night stay The complimentary breakfast was poor The door card did not work at times
