9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to stay, great dinner.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive staff and great service. Fast Internet was a bonus. Also, very useful that you can have lunch/dinner on site, as not many options around!.
Cons: Only thing I would change would be lower/softer pillows, as the ones given were too tall for me to sleep confortably (we did not ask this to be changed, as after midnight, so maybe this could have been sorted quickly, as staff was very helpful) - all the rest was excellent and we would stay again!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Service, food, cleanliness.
Cons: It was good and covenient for its cost.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place at a really quiet location. Ideal if you are on the way to Santiago, it is literally on the path. Fantastic owner and staff. Wonderful room and nice breakfast. We didn't have time to try the food at the bar/restaurant but it looked delicious.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely in a small village which is exactly what we we looking for. My only problem was that even though the temperature cooled nicely in the evening it was still warm in the room remained warm. We slept with the window open and that would have been fine except that because the street it narrow any noise echos and it made it difficult to sleep. All in all it was a quiet location but with a dog barking for its owner to let her in and someone leaving for work in the pre-dawn hours it was difficult for a light sleeper like me. None of that would be a problem if it had been cool enough to keep the window closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is in a nice and quiet location, spotless clean and comfortable. We requested some special products for breakfast (gluten free, white meat...). The host was more then helpful and fulfilled all our demands. The "camineros" community is really interesting. I highly recommend.

Pros: Blanca and Jesus were marvellous hosts, inviting us to enjoy their 149 year old home modernized and comfortable but exuding authenticity and charm. The food was plentiful as was the wine and the home is a gallery filled with the art of Jesus and other artists. We were enchanted.

Pros: Friendly and welcoming hosts, very comfortable, clean accommodation in a very old building, beautifully furnished. Beautiful artworks by Jesus adorns the walls. We had a fabulous dinner and breakfast was excellent. It’s in a very small village without commerces about 15 minutes from Burgos, but as it was on our driving route, it was perfect.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fab welcome from Blanca y Jesus. Jesus made us dinner even although we had not booked, it was fab. He also packed us up a lunch for our Camino the next day. Fab place with beautiful artwork and gardens. Definitely would highly recommend .
Cons: Nothing, all superb!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly hosts and the house is really interesting, full of charm and character. Our room was great, again full of character and perfectly comfortable. Breakfast was a good self service affair. We enjoyed our nights stay with only one or two issues.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and we were advised to go to the nearest town to get something to eat which was a shame as the food looked like it was going to be good and we were looking forward to it after a hot ride to get there. Our room faced front of the house and people seemed to gather outside late into the night drinking and smoking etc which didn't make for a good nights sleep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's impossible not to like the hostess, since she is super nice and sweet. The whole building is decorated with beautiful pieces of art. Our bedroom was cozy and very clean.
Cons: You can hear everything from other bedrooms since the walls are really thin. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing considering it was rated as fantastic, but it was okay.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation very new and really clean. On Camino. Very quiet. However this was the only hotel on our Camino where there was absolutely no interaction with the owner. Apart from “do you want to pay now“on our arrival. Then we never saw her again or anybody else -and on leaving just put our room key on the counter. Very unusual in Spain for this type of stay.
Cons: As I said no interaction with owner.
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, and a cool old building with cool windows.

Pros: Clean. Beautifully decorated. Laundry service. Excellent breakfast. Nice staff. One of our favorites and we have stayed in dozens of nice places on this trek
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Very nicely fitted. Very contemporary. Quiet.
Cons: Did not feel welcome. Atmosphere and welcome were a little austere. I got the impression pilgrims may not be their targeted customer. We paid €75 and were put in a room in the basement with the tiniest window imaginable even though it seemed like there was low occupancy. Would rather have went somewhere cheaper with a better atmosphere. So much potential if there was a warmer welcome.

Pros: Samuel, the owner is awesome! In addition to being very friendly and accommodating, the facilities in this hotel show how clearly Samuel understands the “needs” of the type of traveler who tends to stay in his hotel (the Camino Pilgrim), from the use of the kitchen to a clothes-washing sink to clotheslines with clothes line outdoors for one’s clothes to the home-feel living room and patio-backyard. And you definitely get a great deal for the price. Centrally located as well, and eqsy to find on the Camjno main road.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location with immaculate room.
Cons: Noisey other guests which is outside of the hotels control.
7.5 Good
Pros: comfy and very clean
Cons: no other guest was there ... it is not a good location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything in the property was of good standard and the breakfast was good.
Cons: The location was a little remote and we were expecting to be able to have dinner but instead we had to travel into the neighbouring village which was a nuisance.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location.
Cons: Room was so hot and quite stuffy. We had to stay out late until the outside temperature dropped to get some cool air in from outside. Shutters were broken on our room .so there was no protection from the sun and there was no air conditioning working .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal for ferry - quiet
Cons: Booking should check location - our sat nav put us 20 minutes away in afield and didn't recognise the street
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good presented in a nice room. Restaurant in village was rustic but good & short drive away. Easy parking, very quiet & relaxing rural setting.
Cons: Signage was poor at the entrance. The restaurant in the hotel was closed, should be mentioned on the web site if only opening at peak times.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very peaceful location in the countryside with plenty of trails to run or walk, and nearby a lovely small gothic village. The rooms are of good size and nicely decorated with a large bathroom too. Very quiet at night so very pleasant on the hotel side.
Cons: But the food is nothing versus what can be found in Spain in term of value and quality. It would be simply better labelled as “bed and breakfast” rather than hotel with a restaurant. The menu is poor and highly priced. Instead it is better to go to the castle restaurant in the village nearby (2 min by car and 10 minute walk but you need a light for the countryside trail).
7.5 Good
Pros: Enjoyed the pool and the tranquility, especially as there were no other guests. Good for an on route stopover between Burgos and Salamanca. Very nicely furnished.
Cons: I would class this accomodation as a bed and breakfast, which has the option of an evening meal.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast, Big rooms and bathrooms with very comfy beds. Total silence in the middle of the countryside. Experience the real "Castilla".
Cons: Nothing at all. Very pleasent stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Totally different experience to previous small Spanish hotels. Amazing sight of white popular tree blossom floating in the air like snow.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Hotel is dog friendly and the food and drink were good and great value. Room and bathroom were clean and good sized.
Cons: The room needed aircon. There is none so we had to keep the window wide open as weather hot and there was much noise from the motorway. So not a great nights sleep. There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: No hot water for shower 8am.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All staff friendly and helpful. Shower was good. Bar food was standard but very reasonable. A very convenient situation with plenty of parking and a useful small shop. And very good value for money! The youngsters had a triple room which was enormous and had a superior bathroom. Might think of booking it for us next time.
Cons: Be realistic. If one is paying 50 euros for a room there are going to be some luxuries missing that you would expect if you were paying 150! The shower head fixing was loose and the room needed an extra half metre at the foot of the bed, and for a long stay I would need a comfortable chair or two..... But for a stopover this is more than adequate. Spain is not France and the dog, although welcome, was not allowed in the eating areas. You would just have to factor that in.
6.3 Good
Pros: Crisp clean bedding, very friendly staff. Ideal location for an overnight stay
Cons: Although pet friendly dogs are not allowed in the bar/food area and the seating area in the hotel itself had no heating and we had to sit in coats, either that or all the time in our room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Fhe reception staff were excellent.
Cons: The cafeteria was not up to standard. The food being offered provided little choice. The evening meal was a shambles we were told to come down for 1900 hrs. When we got there a local football team had been booked for a meal. We were first in the queue but what was on display was already well picked over it looked awful. The receptionist tried to recover the situation and she asked us to come back 1/ our later. WE were then shown a menu that is very uninspiring but had no choice. Breakfast consisted of a single croissant and a coffee. All in All not good
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Convenience to motorway, comfortable rooms, pet friendly and helpful friendly staff.
Cons: More choice at breakfast would be an improvement
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have here many times. An excellent place for stopping overnight with our pet dog. Staff are most welcoming and breakfast is good.
4.5 Okay
Cons: I booked room with two single beds for my husband and my friend. They received a key for a room with double bed. They went back to the receptionist to change, and they got another room with the same size double bed. I know it was late for arriving but the receptionist should care about this important detail any time if the website let me book room with single beds. They didnt have comfort at that night. Everything else was fine.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Close to our route, so we didn't lose travelling time.
Cons: It was very noisy - the walls were so thin that we had to listen to all of next door's conversations and, even worse, ablutions! I had requested an upper floor quiet room as we had our cat with us. It wasn't until we arrived that we were told only one floor was in use because they were quiet and didn't want to put the other heating on. The bed and mattress were old - I think a jelly would have had more integrity! Our backs were killing in the morning. The internet wasn't working and, despite them knowing for at least 24 hours before our arrival, they made no effort to fix it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Chosen because we needed a hotel close to motorway and hence reason for poor score for view, but it did exactly what we needed. We had to arrive late as the ferry was 2 hours delayed and this was no problem for the hotel. Parking was easy and food was available 24/7.
Cons: Nothing - everything as expected from a hotel that was a mid-journey stop-over.
Hostal Linares - Hornillos del Camino - Building
18
7.7 Good (107 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Each room is equipped with a private bathroom. There is free shuttle service at the property. Museo Burgos is 20 km from Hostal Linares, while El Parral Park is 18 km away.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very nice, and helpful. The food was good, and breakfast was only 3€, how can you complain at that. There was plenty of parking.
Cons: It was situated in remote location, and my Sat Nav sent us on a trip round the houses, which I think is because so many places, DO NOT put a house number.
4.5 Okay
Pros: You have to accept that this place is basically a truck stop. The food was really good and very good value but they are not at all geared up to run a hostal.
Cons: The staff know how to run a restaurant but not a hostal. There is little acceptance of your presence, it’s quite noisy until late (wear earplugs) and it’s a good 5/6 km from the Camino. Unlike other postings there was no indication at all that lifts were available. There is a back road way back to the Camino that avoids the main road that has no path.
7.0 Good
Pros: It is situated approx six kilometers outside Hornilllos and we were told that we would be picked up in Hornillos, when we called they were unable to understand our question as they could not speak English and we had to take a taxi who charged us €16 and was insistent on collecting us next day for another €16.00. The proprietor did return us the next morning to Hornillos free as expected.
Cons: Location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good basic accommodation.
Cons: Off the Camino though we were driven back to trail next morning
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were lovely. It was GREAT to be collected from the Camino and taken back the following morning. The Room was very spacious.
Cons: I was really looking forward to having a bath BUT it had not been cleaned! There was a ring around bath from previous person
7.0 Good
Pros: We liked the dinner, and the rooms were nice.
Cons: We had hoped for a bigger garden. This was noisy and very small. The hostel is clearly a place where trailers come, and the large cars were noisy.
7.5 Good
Pros: The transporting us to and from Hornillos Del Camino was great. It made the location not a problem. The dinner was good value for the money.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfy. The people were nice. The food was delicious (menu of the day)..
Cons: The shower. It's a bath with a hand held shower head. You need to sit in the bath to wash yourself, you can't stand or else you will spray water everywhere, there is no shower curtain. It's about 5km north of the Camino, but we were on bikes, so it was ok.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hostal Linares was 5km off the Camino and we were collected and returned in the morning to Hornillos Del Camino. It was a very welcome lift
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good, Fried eggs and Hamon Serrano. Just what you need before setting out for a day's walking along the Camino.

Pros: Ease of access, close to motorway, dogs allowed in bar area. Friendly staff.
Cons: Basic accommodation. Need to take own toiletries
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff were lovely and helpful
Cons: The bedding wasn’t clean enough. Clean sheets were used but the bedspread was dirty and covered with hairs (dog hairs?) and stains. We used our own bedding which we had as we were on a road trip.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Very good location as its on the main motorway just before the city
Cons: Room could have been a lot cleaner. Bathroom was fine but the bed, walls and table had a lot of stains/marks on them. Needs a lick of paint and a tidy up. The hotel was very quiet with hardly any other guests.
7.5 Good
Pros: No breakfast Coffee and croissant
Cons: Evening meal choice wazs poor
6.3 Good
Pros: Room very comfortable and clean. Reception guy very helpful and pleasant.
Cons: Menu choice in restaurant. Waiter not pleasant.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was ok for the price
Cons: Took them 1 and a half hours to actually to get a room they were disorganised not very helpful and they seemed to overcharge for everything
5.5 Okay
Cons: Charged twice and refused refund
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, Parking, Cleanliness, Friendly Staff.
Cons: Staff couldn’t speak English which made communication difficult.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing. It was a terrible experience. The hotel was badly run. I read good reviews on this place and that's why I booked it.. I've no idea why it was getting such good reviews???
Cons: Very basic, no dog walking area. Dirty area around back where we had our dogs.. No facilities in room, kettle/accessories. Etc Food very bad and over expensive in the restaurant.. Rooms very small.

5.5 Okay
Pros: For the price it’s ok, matras not so confortable bathroom a bit old, it’s a place for truck drivers but it’s ok for one night!
Cons: Breakfast on the cafe downstairs, could have some fresh bread, I guess it’s Spain!!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Seems to had been renewed recently and it looks like in the pictures.
Cons: Room was not cleaned, cigarette smell (we thought it was from outside until we push one of the beds and there was ash !! and a finished cigarette on the floor). At first we thought: ok we clean and it will be ok, but the smell did not went away and during the night was not pleasant stay. Definitely no wifi signal in the room. Overall I do not recommend as for a similar price you will probably find better conditions. And we had stayed many times in stopover places like this cafe\bar\restaurant\hostel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good value and food. You really see the country side
Cons: Off the Camino by 6 miles. No where closer to stay though
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Great as a pit stop on a long drive. A clean and comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place to stay, nice clean modern room, great restaurant with good food. Nice bar. Great value all round and the staff are lovely, helpful and welcoming. Five stars.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near the motorway in my way back to Luxembourg. Very friendly staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for a one night stop over while travelling all the from France to southern Portugal. For a little over 30 pounds it represents good value. Just 2 minutes off the motorway. Mainly used by workers/truckers. Room compact but clean and comfortable. The restaurant offered a fixed price evening meal for just 10 euros (including house wine) - excellent value.
Cons: At that price point - nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic value, just perfect for an off route stop, clean room, great food and amazing value. Its a truck stop motel so not a holiday spot but ticks every box for a stop over.
Cons: maybe a menu in English
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location ideal for an overnight stop
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Value foe money, friendly staff, good food.
Cons: The parking is not secure
