University Inn Academic Suites

The breakfast at University Inn Academic Suites is good for grab-n-go type, better than in the other 6 hotels we stayed at. There is an outside pool. Half of the rooms have the river view and direct access to the pool and to a tiny beautiful park with gazebo. The other half of the rooms face the parking lot but we got the first floor room on the river side and enjoyed it greatly. Helpful staff, very clean room with the fridge, microwave and coffee machine, in other words, everything that you may need for a short (or long) break on the road.

The pros of staying at University Inn Academic Suites include the beautiful spot right on the river, the proximity to the University of Maine, Orono, and being a dog-friendly hotel with a large yard to roam and easy in and easy out for the dogs right from the room.

The cons of the rooms at University Inn Academic Suites include the beds being saggy in the middle and very uncomfortable, as well as thin walls/ceiling, resulting in being able to hear everything above and next door.
