L'Empire Paris scores a ten out of ten in terms of its coolness quotient. Sophisticated decor burgeons on looking like it belongs in a contemporary art gallery. Located just off Rue de Rivoli, this four star hotel is near the Musée du Louvre Museum, Notre Dame de Paris, and a slew of other sights.
An Empire Under the Parisian Sun
L'Empire Paris's conscientious staff will graciously tackle anything you need. The hotel's rooms are quite large for Parisian standards, and if you're willing to splurge, the Josephine Suite comes with a private terrace, a whirlpool bath, and views over the courtyard. All 42 guestrooms, however, were fully renovated in 2007, are equipped with iPod docking stations, and offer beautiful contemporary furnishings infused with 18th century Empire style. The Lounge Bar and the Empire Café offer light, healthy cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere. A full service spa and complimentary WiFi each keep guests happy in their own way.
Plenty To Do
Chez Alexandre, opposite the hotel, is a hit with guests for its delicious food and friendly service. Cross the river to take in the Musée d'Orsay, watch the sunset over the Seine from the Pont des Arts, a few minutes' walk away, or go shopping on the winding streets that surround the Place Vendôme. Two metro stations, Louvre-Rivoli and Les Halles, are in easy walking distance of L'Empire Paris.
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location.
At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable

Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping
There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room.
I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see.
The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
Hotels name is not visible from the street
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed.
The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
