Our hostess-owner Claire was friendly, warm, and ready with suggestions for dining and touring the Charlevoix area. Spacious room and bath with all amenities. The host-owner Regis is a chef and cooked wonderful breakfasts to order. Location is ideal for touring the region. We would stay here again. This hotel is a work in progress. The owners bought the place in March 2010. The gardens and grounds are still bare, but they have plans for lawn, trees, etc. The location is on a highway, with some traffic noise, though not enough to disturb a good night sleep. You need a car to get here from town.
Excellent comfort and high quality of the furniture. Charming staff and kind personnel. The hotel location is not top level and the price is too high
Friendly receptionist. Indoor swimming pool cold water. Attract people with seemingly low cost room but expensive meals.
the view of st-laurence river No Wi-Fi
Location, remoteness, views Hotel reception staff not very pleasant
The island, the setting and the view were beautiful. Room was old, smelled musty, beds were hard and uncomfortable.
Lovely B&B, tastefully frunished, with a lovely backyard. The familly suite is huge with 2 single beds and one king size bed. There is also a billiard and some toys for the kids. The owner, Danielle, is a lovely women, full of good advice and extremly freindly. Just perfect
Good welcome, excellent food
The owners were really kind. Good service. Nice cosy hotel
very nice family hotel, very small but clean room
The room and the bathroom are very small but clean and handy. Family and countryside atmosphere: do not expect anything else, but this is good for it. The restaurant (breakfast and dinner) is rather expansive. The special offers available at the hotel seemed more interesting than the price with booking.com.
nice and clean no lift and no aircondition, a bit noisy due to the nearby ferry (hourly traffic late at night and very early in the morning)
Free internet access, nice room, auberge looks nice, nice town The lady at the reception hardly spoke any English at all. She didn't have our booking! My impression is that she didn't check her e-mail. There was no possibility to have dinner.
Nice hotel in the Charlevoix region. Since we where there about 2 weeks before the high-season, we where the only guests the night we stayed there. Everything looked like newly painted and the room was very tidy & clean. At the outside of the 'Auberge' there was a patio with a lot of (rocking)chairs & tables, excellent to enjoy the evening sun with a drink! The owners where friendly, though didn't say a lot to us. The hotel had some plaques at the entrance that they received some prizes for the gourmet style cuisine. We only had breakfast there, which was excellent... but also a little bit expensive in our opinion.
ITs so cute from the outside.........and center of all the action in town. Great restaurant ....and a wonderful curb appeal. I felt the room was tired.and outdated. The bedspread was from the seventies.\.and it didn't feel fresh and crisp. Bed squeeked against the wall. I felt for the money, except for location, was no deal.Outside curb appeal doesn't match indoor tiredness.
How can I pick one thing when everything was perfect. The house is beautiful, the room lovely, great bed - ironed sheets no less, great view of the St. Lawrence river and bay, delicious breakfast, warm and friendly hosts. Thank you Mariette & Pierre! Nothing. It exceeded by expectations in every way.
The staff was extremely accommodating. We arrived during a terrible winter storm, but the owner called us beforehand to warn us of the weather and power outages in case we wanted to take refuge elsewhere. When we arrived staff were waiting with a lantern and extra blankets. We had a very large bathroom, kitchenette and dining room, and a very large bedroom with a small sitting room. Lots of room for our group of four adults. 10/10 would book again.
