The Chateau Elan was a beautiful place to stay, the staff were brilliant! Every thing you could want was there, with a very well stocked minibar with wines and beers all reasonably priced. The linen and bathtowels were divine! The rooms/villas had patios that faced onto the golfcourse where in the afternoon kangaroos appeared and feed. We could not fault anything during our stay.
Breakfast was not that great. The staff at the cage where you have breakfast were not helpful and poorly presented.
Everything - modern, luxury, great service The toiletries did not look brand new which was surprising but this is a small issue which did not affect our trip
The first thing that struck me and my wife was the friendly and helpful staff. They are great crew and a breath of fresh air. Another few positives were the room size and design, the fit out and use of room space(i.e plenty of storage and shelving and bed backing to the bath). The room also had plenty of light. We stayed in the Cairo room which was not over bearing but tastefully displayed. When going to a hotel for a restful weekend the bed is very important and this bed was the bomb. We had no trouble sleeping and the massage feature was great. Yes sadly the room service menu is very basic and does seem to give much of a choice for someone who requires a gluten free diet. Also in the curry I ordered I have pieces of cartilage and not I was not too sure what would be in the next bite. I reckon you could easily bump up the quality and selection on the in room menu and of course the price aswell. I think in reflection to the room prices guests will have no dramas in paying 35-45 for a main meal if It was of decent quality. Breakfast was great, thankyou.
Concierge Eric very helpful & friendly; handy location to wineries, modern, spotless rooms, delicious buffet breakfast, Very inexperienced reception staff, maybe because hotel just opened. What's with the bath in the open as soon as you walk into the room?
Proximity to wineries and function that we were attending. Quiet and peaceful surroundings, and cleanliness of rooms and establishment.
Staff always available and willing to help, choice of eating options for dinner and breakfast, and luxury of overall hotel. A beautiful place to stay!
comfortable, close to activity we where there for (balloon flight)good location for wineries all good
Sauna & spa There were at least 12 ground floor empty motel style units as a couple in there mid sixties we given a top floor unit .we stayed 2 nights"KNOW one came t0 clean or remove wet towels clean rubish or make beds "front&rear balconies &stairs filthy ruined what should have been great holiday
Room and facilities were perfect for the 2 of us
Location.Friendly and helpful staff. Room facilities and balcony outllook, mind you tree types and their location close to our room did impede the view. Breakfast facilities and variety were good. Covered walkways also provided a good deal of comfort. A minor point, the shower recess was not watertight - there was a lot of water on the floor during and after showering.
Comfort, location of all the winerys.
Comfortable bed and room room did not look over vineyards as advertised. Noisy due to weddings.limited eating options
The location was outstanding, and the surrounds excellent, this included the quiet and serene feeling lookoing out across the valley. The atmosphere within the room, and the generous space within the room made for a most comfortable and welcoming stay. All the staff we encountered were friendly and most helpful.
loved the minibar, the fire and the very comfortable bed! was disappointed with the fact that such an otherwise luxurious suite did not have more cosy flooring, ie carpet, or at least a thick cosy rug. Also the staff member who checked us in was very cold and unwelcoming
We loved the surrounding countryside, the way all the roads were all so well labelled, the opportunity to visit the Hunter Valley Gardens again and the helpfullness of all the staff at the Resort. We only had the cold breakfast but we would have enjoyed some country cooked Meusli instead of just cereal packets.
Lovely bed, bathroom and room size. Walls were so thin we could hear our neighbor snoring, and than talking the next morning.
clean room room was expensive not good value, breakfast too expensive not good value,we got the feeling they charge what they like because there is no where else to go, same goes for the bar prices $6.00 for a glass of draught beer on tap is a rip off
I liked that there was a bath in the bathroom Shower screen to be longer down the bath, face washes to be placed on the bench with towels as the drawer wasn't the first place i looked. Breakfast at 10am, most food was gone and no more was served
service & civility no
Nice and Quiet. A pleasant stay!!
Polite knowledgeable staff, spacious clean room, horse riding on site was fun, and the food and wine were delicious. The guest internet facilities in the reception are very slow and basic but i did get a refund as it wasn't working properly so it has been acknowledged.
The hotel was very close to all the wineries, only 5 minute drive to the Gardens. Horse riding available on location, so was able to enjoy an early morning ride. Had to request a different room on arrival even though a room with queen and single was stipulated during booking.
The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Staff were quite helpful. Nice location, though VERY hard to find in the dark. Ordered room service wedges. They were VERY expensive and quite clearly of the store bought frozen variety.
Closeness to the wedding we attended, opposite the shower over the high bath
