The location, the restaurant, the pool. The barmann was very arrogant and rude with the clients. Bevause fo thaht I would not recommend that place. It is a shame because everybody else were very nice and pleasant.
Wonderful staff, great views of the lake. Easy access to boats to go up and down lake.
The location is excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. The pool was lovely and to be able to swim in lake garda from the hotel was also great. Our room was nice with a good view of the Lake from the balcony. It was just a short walk to the nearest town which was nice in the evening.
Location Recommended a ferry that wasn't running and a restaurant that was closed for the winter, they should have known better
Proximity and access to Lake Garda
I liked the staff atention and the excelent food. No.
It was a great location. Easy walk in to Gardone for lovely water front, good restaurants (especially set back from lakeside) and ferry service. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast right next to the lake was a great start to the day. Surprising to have no tea / coffee in room but room service was very quick
The location was great, pool was nice and room had a great view
hotel beautiful and staff created lovely athmosphere..food excellent and lovely setting thought the evening menu could benefit from a little more variety but quality and service excellent
The views from the lobby area out to Lake Garda; the garden setting that opened from the lobby; the excellent breakfast; the attentive staff. My massage was disappointing. Cold room, no candles or heated massage table, too much bright light; no soothing music. Massage itself was too light. We must do it differently in the US.
Lake Garda is a beautiful place. Lake itself, mountains, clean waters all was excellent. This is just a wrong hotel in a splendid place, just like many other things in Italy :) Hotel is a fleabag, rooms are so old you cant imagine it. Dont believe what the site is saying about triple room, its just pretty small doubleroom with extra bed that makes it impossible to move in the room and forget to get to balcony. It was really crap. If you decide to go dont hesitate to ask for a better room, the staff understands what kind of rooms they have and most likely will try to help you a little, but they dont have much to upgrade it to anyway.
Happy hour in der Hotelbar, dort auch sonst faire Preise mit Blick auf den Gardasee.
Stayed in a family room for 3 nights. Good location just outside Salò, on the lakeshore with a small but nice beach. Beautiful view of the Garda lake and Salò from the terrasse bar. Shuttlebus to the town a few times during the day. All meals incl. Very old hotel, long time since it was a 4 stars hotel! The furniture in our room was worn & damaged, the room so small (bathroom tiny!) that with the ugly bunkbeds for the children we were unable to move around. The air/con was not working properly in our room, and the food they served was barely eatable and mostly junk food. The hotel in general is in a desparate need of a total redecoration.
The views from hotel were fantastic and hotel staff were very helpful The hotel was a little remote for ourselves would have liked a bit more night life
Very relaxed hotel, good choice of food, idea for families, wonderful location, picturesque and quiet.
The hotel staff was exemplary. The terrace was very romantic both breakfast and dinner. Taking a drink by the pool was delightful. The room was a little outdated. It seemed everything had not been revisited since the 70's.
The beautiful hotel building. On site car park. The friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful staff they could not have been better. Excellent quality of the food. The well maintained garden. The close proximety (5 mins walk) of restaurants and shops. Ten minutes walk to the ferry linking Salo to all the other towns on the lake. The noise from the road whilst relaxing/sunbathing in the garden. There is only a hedge and pavement between the road and lawn with sun beds. Evening meals are a bit pricey.
Hotel is very comfortable in a nice oldfashioned way with excellent service from the staff. An excellent hotel to relax in.
really nice staff, beautiful architecture main road too close, no balconies, interiors bit old
service and the stuff gentle too small room
The hotel is situated in a beautiful art nouveau building just outside the old town of Saló. The view over lake Garda is great, so are the deck chairs and the pool. The staff is fantastic - they'll bend backwards to help you with anything! This seems to be a family run hotel, where the family are perfectionists. A not too expensive luxury if you're stayin in the smaller, more modern rooms. I love it!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, building beautiful, service excellent. Ideal for a relaxing romantic break No
The hotel is well placed on the edge of old Salo town and is an easy stroll to the nearby restaurants and shops.
Lake views, good staff to residents ratio, setting, swimming pool and breakfast terrace. No nothing
This is the most wonderful hotel. The staff was amazing, the property amazing, the restaurant superb. Fabulous breakfast. I can't say enough positive things about it lest I fear there will never be room available again.
Excellent position on Lake Garda gives spectacular views in restful atmosphere. Easy access to town and ferries. Friendly attentive staff. No
super views over the lake. Friendly staff. The best palma ham in the world. It was draped like a cloud of thin sheets succulent flavoursome over fresh chilled melon. Exquisite balance. No
The position of the hotel and the view from our room balcony Hotel food was poor
We had a wonderful time at this hotel and would definately recommend staying there. The location was wonderful beautiful views and close to the town which provided an abundance of bars and restaurants as well as a ferry service to other locations. The hotel room was spacious and staff very friendly and helpful, particularly Daniel who arranged taxi's for us and gave valuable local information. The breakfast was very nice, lovely cornettos! The swimming pool was large and clean and not over chlorinated. It was also very quiet and most times we had the whole pool to ourselves! I would also recommend hiring a speed boat from salo to tour the lake, hotel staff also helped with this making the call and translating the necessary info! I wish I was back there right now!!!
The swimming pool and sunbathing area is great. The location fantastic - right on the lake. Everything was very clean. Buffet breakfast was gorgeous food. Bathrooms were excellent, baths and showers. Some of the staff were surly and unhelpful, especially serving/clearing breakfast. The minute 10am arrived they were clattering around you whilst you were finishing your breakfast. It is a little old fashioned, the decor from the 70s/80s. No spa facilities are included in the price of the room. The breakfast is not a hot buffet. The in room bar only had two beers in it.
The location of the hotel is superb. Our spacious room had a splendid view over the lake. The staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant maintained a high standard. On the minus side: the air-conditioning in our room was barely adequate, the breakfast buffet could be more ambitious, and too many guests ignored the pool rules posted for the benefit of all in five languages. Value for money? Not really.
Rooms were big with beautiful view and were cleaned professionally on a daily basis. The general hotel staff are very warm and helpful. It is a non smoking environment which was fantastic. The breakfasts are poor, but mostly the breakfast waiters are rude and unprofessional. It may sound petty, but does have an affect on your stay!
Magnificent View over lake from balcony Altho' the hotel was nowhere near full, bookings were still required for dinner. Bar closed early (if it was ever open).
Location of the hotel, size of the room and terasse and view. Friendly staff especially in reception. Since we have travelled with baby and stroller we were expecting to takea stroller to our room. It did not fit to elevator since they are too small. Some other families had same problem. Breakfast is really basic for 4* hotel, no hot food and variety is very small - cheese, hamd, bread, fruits, jogurt and corNflakes. Parking is also unsuficient only 11 spaces for large hotel and website advertize free parking in front of the hotel. If you came late to the hotel you had to look for parkings faraway or pay 10 euro a day in paid parking near by.
large simply furnished room with sliding doors onto spacious balcony with beautiful view good location inability to use the pool before breakfast
Restaurant very expensive, facilities did not warrant a five star rating
Golf was great, nice courses The selection of the food in the main restaurant was rather poor, and only the typical Italian dihes like Spaghetti and Lasagna were really good.
Ambiente Explanations only in Italian available, arriving at allmost midnight they needed about 35 minutes to bring the luggage to the room
the room was very comfortable. We were not made aware of the fact that it would cost so very much regarding the trip from the airport to the hotel and then back again, it cost almost as much as the price of the room. This must be listed on the web site. The hotel, in our opinon, should not have been open during the off season. We were the only 2 in the hotel for 2 nights.
its location and lakeside facing room I do not agree with 4* rating- should be 2* if applies to standard of service all except 2 staff
A very modern hotel with clean, spacious and designed rooms. A very pleasant setting with a great view of the mountains and lake Garda. Staff very kind and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with reasonable prices. We have travelled a lot and have high requirements on standard, cleanlyness and well kept rooms and this was actually the best hotel we have stayed at in that price range - we would really recommend it. Event though we are quit fussy we have really nothing negative to say about Villa Luisa.
Very nice, brand new hotel. Beautifull design and not too big. The personell really gives you à warm welcome and i highly reccomend this hotel. Very near to lake Garda and various great citites like brescia, Verona and even Milano is do-able.
Lovely location, very quiet, village only a short walk. Lack of English by the staff, no brochures in English for what to do.
The room was very nice. I think quality-price is perfect.
Nice room, nice mountains wiew and partially of the Garda Lake; clean hotel, enough quiet environment - with the exception of the church bells nearby; good parking facilities at the underground The breakfast is pretty good, hovever it had some unexplainable failures: one had to order a cofee to get a real/decent one, at the dispenser cofee machines you could get some instant cofee-like hot beverage; the meat products (salami, ham) weren't chosen according to a 4* standard, but more like to a 2* one. Ruther far from the lakeshore and not so well connected to the beach, hence it's advisable to have a car. Also the inner walls could have been better sound-insulated.
Very nice but small room. Excellent fit-for-purpose facilities. Clean. Very large and good balcony although it should have had a non-see- through shiled towards the neighbour. The 'Hamburger' in the restaurant was a disaster!!! No sign of real meat, looked like the sole of a shoe and tasted nothing! Please fix this asap.
Location is perfect. close to most areal attractions. No where in hotel documentation it was mentioned the room is cleaned only one time during our week stay. That was very disturbing running with same towels few day especially on days with 37degC and 95 PrecentHumidity. Room door was not locking properly and it took the staff to fix it 4 days.
good room and kitchen. good breakfast. the entrance to our room no. 101 is not very pleasant.
large room and pretty surroundings
Everything about the hotel was good quality. It was quiet and relaxing without being stuffy There was not enough information given about the services provided by the hotel or information on the locality. Although advertised, the fitness suite was not open as they were still awaiting a license.
The place is beautiful. The localization is good. The cleanliness, even of bathrooms, is made each 4 days and you have to pay it as an extra, what I think it’s unbelievable in a 4 stars hotel. They don't have any expert to solve the problems as electrical, air conditioned, etc. and they don't apologize for that. Everything will be solved “domani” or the day after “domani”; even their manager seems to think that´s normal.
Cleaniness of the room. Breakfast Buffet was good. Our patio (like almost all patios) do face towards the pool and did not have any privacy at all. Everybody that passed by could stare at us sitting on the patio. No privacy. All deck chairs at the pool were reserved with towel already early in the morning no matter if the people used them or not. After 11:00 AM it was impossible to get a deck chair next to the pool.
The very relaxing atmostphere. The lovely welcoming fire & the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. especially Lucca No
The location was excellant. Arrivinging at 12.10 am on the 24.7.08 hotel in darkness, night porter offered us stale bread and wark beer,no room service.
Staff very helpful. Beautiful lakeside location. Great Rooms. You require a taxi to get to nearest town.
Close to lake and other attractions
Efficient and very clean. Staff helpful and not overbearing. Right on edge of lake Garda. Not a dislike, but be aware that some rooms are "normal" hotel rooms (no self catering facilities). Evening meal is a bit limited if you're not keen on fish.
Location - right on lake - close to train station (by car) for trips to Milan, Venice
really a best hotel in good place and lake view!!! staff better too.
Very friendly and very helpful staff, especially Aligi, Patrizia, Liza and Roberto all spoke excellent english and helped us with finding resturants and places of interest to visit. Nice clean pool overlooking the lake. Nothing
Very good location. Nice view on the lake. Cleanliness. The swimming pool is not heated.
Great location on the banks of the lake and lovely pool. Only 1 change of linen.
Nice location and friendly staff
Friendly staff, cleanliness, value for money. I was on my own taking time out to write so the quietness was good and I felt safe. All my requirements were met
location of the hotel and the beautiful bedroom, staff were very friendly too the breakfast was poor and they ran out of some of the items also the service was slow
Nice friedly staff , good location very clean room
I had a perfect stay in the hotel. Food was exquisite. Location directly at Lake Garda also with a perfect view from the balcony of my upgraded room.
The location of the hotel was great. The 100km restaurant menu was great & the staff were very helpful. 24hour free internet access in the lobby was a great help.
The room was bording - there was'nt any dekoration.
The location of the hotel is perfect - having breakfast on the terrace with the water lapping the boardwalk a few feet away was idyllic. Being able to meander along the lake shore walk at any time of the day or night without having to worry about driving or parking was a treat in itself. The are many restaurants to choose from within 5 minutes stroll & the town of Salo itself is beautiful. Loved the room!!!
high service level, nice atmosphere,
Firstly, the staff, who were helpful, polite, informative, and responsive.Secondly, the thoughtful little touches, like scented candles, sweets, and a teddy-bear at turn-down time in the evening.Thirdly, the immaculate cleanliness of the whole place.Fourthly, free and secure parking. Finally, the superb position right on the lakeside and promenade. We would have liked a wider choice at breakfast - toast, eggs, crispy bacon, for example.
i liked the most the hospitality of the stuff, the suite, the garden and the wellness area the only thing that didn't like was the poor connection at the internet and the fact that wasn't wirelles connection.
Size of rooms and breakfast. Very boring. No information about the area. Far from the lake.
Gentle hotel staff.luxury.relax in spa
I did not like that you have to pay to use the swimming pool or the wellness center. On their website, this is not stated that their is an additional fee for this. For 210 Euro for a night, it should be included.
A quiet and relaxing place to stay with friendly staff, well designed and furnished restaurant serving good food and a menu suitable for all tastes. The wellness center is a huge advantage to this property and again, good and polite mannered staff with a very professional attitude. On the downside, two things really need to be said:The room temperature is set at 24 degrees, you can adjust the temperature but for too short a time before it kicks back up automatically to 24 degrees, much too hot to try and get a good restful sleep,I woke up sweating each night of my stay. The second point,a car is essential to make your way there as train/bus stations are too far away.
I understand family-run hotel with an excellent restaurant in the garden. Very friendly atmosphare and and everybody int the staff are doing all they can for you to enjoy. Will recommend the hotel and the restaurant for my swedish golf-friends and we try to comeback next year.Superb ! Nothing at all.
We were apparently the first English people to stay there and the staff were lovely. The rooms are a fantastic size. The pool looks lovely (too cold to try) but there is an indoor one and the spa was very nice. We hope to take the children back there in the summer. The beds are a little hard, maybe more choice for breakfast or the possibility of toast, scrambled eggs with bread is just not the same :-).
silent and clean rooms, clean pool area, excellent restaurant near by, it`s called al monastero, shuttle service to arena di verona, booked in the hotel due to very poor management. It was a desaster! We got upgraded room, the hotel said. But the picture of the booked room showed a very large room. The junior suite we got, consist of 2 smaller rooms. One bedroom and one livingroom,
High quality rooms that look really really great! The fact that it is a small hotel with few guests.......and personal service.......made it special. The whole design of the hotel is very congruent and luxurious. The service in the Monastero restaurant was outstanding.........and secured a top rating of the staff from us. One employee at the reception was either very shy or just in a rather bad mood the 2 days we were there. I think she had a language problem that made her hesitate........but I am not sure. A hotel of this quality of course needs to have employees with good language skills and a smile on their face ! Most did! Other than this small issue.......everything was really perfect! :)
Very tranquil setting, attention to detail in everything. Fabulous spa, The owners are really lovely and give a very personal service Beaware that you are not in a resort or near to Lake Garda but after a day sightseeing around the lake it is really nice to come back to somewhere so peaceful
Fair hotel and staff, excellent value for money, good location
The location. Fairly quiet. Lovely, comfortable room. Very clean. Good breakfast. Lovely swimming pool. Evening meal in restaurant was poor - quality of food and service.
Willingness and friendliness of staff. We weren't aware buildings works were taking place during our stay
Rooms were nice. Good view to lake, balcony. Car parking in front of the hotel. Poor food at breakfast. No restaurant at the evening. In any case I went to Sushi 10km avay in the near village it was terrific.
friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff
Brand new and in great position near beach, restaurants and bars. Excellent breakfast. Air conditioned room. They were extending it so lots of building work. Pool was closed as a result.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the location (very close to the lake), the view from the room.
Service was very good. Location was excellent ... within a few hundred meters of a port and a beach. Swimming pool also very nice. Breakfast was more than adequate. No real complaints. If you want good value and an excellent Lago di Garda location, this is it. Hotel is very difficult to find, but that is certainly not their fault.
The room view (face to Garda lake) is perfect. Bathroom is good as well.
The manager was very helpful, the location was excellent, breakfast was generous, it felt very secure, clean and modern. It was expensive and lacking in character. Our room suffered from traffic noise in the morning.
Central location and parking facilities for motorcycles air conditioning would have been an added bonus in the heat of 40 degrees
The Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Location - in the center of Salo In our room there was no Aircondition - but at the days we stayed there was no need for Aircondition. A fan was a the room but was not used
Situation, good breakfast. Old premises.
The hotel owner (Maoro) was very helpful, location of the hotel was excellent, room were cleaned on daily basis and the breakfast was also very nice. Overall, we were very surprised by the high standard of the hotel- definitely worth every penny! Would stay again. no
Fabulous location with only minutes to walk to the shops, restaurants and water. . Parking was a bit difficult. It was case of parking down the street and waking back, then going and moving the car again to the car park which was not very close by. A bit of a task when there were 6 of us!
Old, but nice hotel with helpful staff in the middle of town. We enjoyed our stay.
The hotel was right in the town of Salo which was great. The room was small but clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good location. It has a very good breakfast service and very friendly and helpful staff.
Position in the town; kind staff; very acceptable price; peace at night
Apartment was very spacious and clean with efficient air conditioning. The location was good and the pool area was well maintained. The staff were friendly ane very helpful. Due to the pizzeria and ice cream parlour/bar which is under the apartments there was noise until midnight most nights. The kitchen area was not particularly well equipped. No microwave, kettle toaster or oven.
The location is silent but a bit off hand if you want to visit the Lake Garda parks, Verona... a car is a must. It has parking spaces in front of the hotel and an underground garage so parking was not a problem but we were there in mid September. Although the room looks luxurious on the Internet, there is no desk in the room, no place to put your luggage on (there is a wardrobe), the bathroom is big enough but everything is too big in there so you need to fully open the door to get to the toilet. There was no soap for hand washing. I expected more.
It's a well designed hotel, clean and friendly surrounding, close to the beach, some restaurants near by. The rooms and the floor under the roof need little windows in the roof at the highest point, in order to have fresh air circulation.
The hotel has a very nice location, view on the lake from the rooms balcony. Extremely comfortable and fancy rooms. The breakfast buffet is big.
