Was central to Collioure and great location for restaurants and the tiny shingled beach. Was a lot more basic than appeared in photos on website. Had we been staying more than 3 nights we would have moved. Also, parking was a bit of a nightmare.
service, very friendly and helpful, good breakfast, air con room limited parking but hotel made best of it
I had a beautiful time, the staff were excellent, very helpful and the hotel location was fantastic.
Hotel very central, room quite good size, small parking which is a plus in Collioure Bathroom was a disaster, very, very small, no shower screen so that you showered the bathroom instead of yourself when you attempted to shower. Room very sparsely furnished, only place to put case was on floor ! Would only recommend for 1 night stay
OK rooms, good beds, nice people at the front desk. Quiet hotel and rooms. OK, but narrow parking in the hotel yard. Right in the middle of Collioure. Stayed here before and would be happy to book again.
The very pleasant welcome and desire to be as helpful as possible
The hotel was convenient for the town and beach The car parking was restricted to about 6 or 7 cars
The location was brilliant staff helpful rooms clean and comfortable On booking was told there was car parking available but on arrival there were only a couple of spaces and they were in use
ideal location, middle of town but next to harbour, easy access to shops restaurants etc. Car parking available on pot luck basis. Helpful friendly reception.
Location - a few steps from the town centre and port/beaches. Free car park (very small but at least available and free!) Assumed a double room would mean a double bed but we were given 2 singles. Need to state in description whether 2 singles or one double.
the location is beautiful no
The view, breakfasts and the pool. The staff were also very helpful. We asked for a double but got two singles put together which is not the best. I liked the view in the room so I did not want to risk another room with a lesser view.
We enjoyed the stay , very nice breakfast. The images of the facilities on the web-site were slightly exaggerated- it was not as deluxe as it appeared. There was a shortage of toilet roll.
The location and layout are fantastic, and the staff were helpful. Room compact but elegant. No
Beautifully located, good breakfast, nice garden No
Nice pool and spa. The view was beautiful. I didn't like the fact that the hotel immediately charges your card for the entire reservation upon making the reservation and that all charges are placed on the account of the person who made the reservation regardless of the number of people in your group.
The suite we were upgraded to was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Good location, nice pool and jacuzzi. Two thumbs up. We arrived late afternoon and needed some basic supplies - wine, bottled water, light snacks, cheese, bread or crackers, etc. The desk clerk told us that because it was late Sunday afternoon there was nowhere to buy anything. We decided to go for a ride into town and found enough places open to buy what we needed - including the main supermarket. She really put zero thought into how to help us solve our problem. On the other hand, we found most service employees in France to lack much interest in providing good customer service or taking any initiative. Just cultural I guess.
Location, close to Collioure No
The view from the room Too old
beautiful hotel, beautiful room, nice & helpful staff, everything new & refurbished quite expensive, breakfast not included - breakfast expensive (14euros per person) - but I guess thats France! apart from that everything perfect!!! Thank you!
Fabulous pool and gardens ideal for our 9 and 13 year old. Lovely setting and good position within walking distance of old town. Room and bathroom were spotless and tastefully decorated. Staff very friendly and efficient. Lovely breakfast on terrace in morning. Family room had two double beds so children had to share which was fine for younger children but might not be suitable for older children. Needs to state this on booking page.
Quiet, comfortable place, close to the village but away from the busy beach area. Easy access to Argeles, Le Racou and Collioure by car.
The distance from the beach.
Friendliness of staff. Beautifull site, relaxing atmosphere, excellent breakfast Some decoration on walls (pictures?)
Le Cottage is set in a lovely garden with a view of the mountains. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a view of the swimming pool and garden.. The breakfast was excellent. Rather far from the beach, but you know that by looking at the map before you book.
The heated outdoor pool - pleasant location. air conditioning in room excellent. Very efficient, friendly staff. Although it was a Relais du Silence there were young children and babies. There was no restaurant. The room was small.
The hotel was presented excellently, the pool and gardens impeccable as other reviewers have said.View from the balcony stood out as a good memory. Being just over 6ft, the toilet was a real problem, it is incredibly small and could be easily incorporated into the shower room which would give sufficient space for all sizes. Breakfast location was superb but the content was limited for the price,
service room too small, uneasy access to hotel
Friendly staff, english speaking, clean room, free parking, free spa no food after 8 or 9PM
David, the maitre d', was very helpful.
Beautiful view from room, good size room. Only place that internet would work is in the small entry lobby at the front desk. A not so welcoming staff on our arrival in evening.
I enjoyed the aesthetics of the facilities, the priceless view and the staff at disposal to help you. Furthermore an excellent meal served on the terrace with a great scenery It would be great to allow people that travel with exclusive cars to sleep well knowing that their car is going to be safe.
Very nice place. The staff is very welcoming. The room is comfortable although small.
The view from our room of this small fishing village and the Med was the best.....it was the reason that we picked this hotel! The desk staff were most helpful and personable. The price of 18 Euro per person for the continental plus breakfast was a bit high.....most hotels that we stayed in on this trip priced breakfast at 10-12 Euros per person which seemed better value.
The location looking out over the sea, and the pleasant walk along the shoreline to the town. The breakfast was grossly overpriced and unsatisfactory.
Beautiful view of the harbour, excellent facilities and a gourmet restaurant. Should have stayed longer.....
Convenience of location, position & view from room, very good breakfast, friendly English-speaking receptionist, car-parking. Cold passage from room to restaurant
The location was simply stunning, including access to the beach/sea from the hotel & water's edge walkway 5 minutes into Collioure. This alone made the hotel very special & we shall be returning. Facilities/bedroom appointments - not quite 4 star - but location more than made up for it!
the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service of all the staff.
Close to waterfront and centre of town. Modest but clean. Warm and helpful welcome. No dinner despite fame of dining room. Modest breakfast, tired croissants.
The location of hotel and the size and layout of room (#27) and bath which were all new. This was an excellent value.
Wonderful situation, helpful staff.
Location and excellent reception Restaurant closed
We liked being right in the heart of Colioure with everything on the door step. The hotel does the best it can with its original lay out - lucky to have a lift although very small!
air conditioning dark stairways and stair lights
location, rooms are large enough parking problems, lift is extremely small
Good value, comfortable, near to beach and restaurants and situated in a very pleasant town that is not just a resort, even next to the bus stop
Lovely hotel only five minutes walk from the centre. All the staff went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. The hillside pool was the most relaxing place. Nothing
Nice location just a ten minute walk from the centre of town. Good parking. There is no elevator, so be prepared for several flights of stairs. At an average cost of 80 Euros, our third floor room was reasonable value.
Friendly staff. Location and parking convenient for the town. Room was of a good standard.
Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast good value for money, location, size of room, cleanliness of rooms quick and well done Army helicopter on manoeuvres very early in the morning
It was clean and the staff were very nice ad helpful It was very cold in the room (October and no heating) Heated swimming pool was like ice. No room facilites for tea/coffee
Very pleasant atmosphere and well situated
An excellent hotel with a warm welcome from friendly staff. In a rather overcrowded little town, it was great to have a hotel which offered parking. We will return there
Staff very helpful and breakfast excellent. Difficult to find, perhaps a detailed map on website would help
The hotel location was excellent and the staff were very friendly. A bar area to meet in the evening would have been good.
Comfortable rooms, within easy reach of the town. Breakfast well worth the price.
Cleanliness & Friendliness of staff Lack of restaurant facilities for dinner. Only snacks avaliable.
The view over the ocean from our room was fantastic. The staff were great and when we had a problem with the airconditioning in our room we were offerred another room straight away.
Close to nice beaches The fact that it overlooks a busy road and a railway line - both of which were not apparent in either the price or on the website.
This hotel was superb. The views were beautiful and the restaurant was excellent for breakfast and evening meal. Very good value for this time of the year. Only one item, the shower in the bathroom was very poor. It needs to be fitted on to the wall instead of hanging loose.
Hotel room was very modern, clean and the view was gorgeous! Train line is not a problem, double glazing is excellent.
Breakfast, pool, air conditioning road/rail noise,
Location is good. It's clean. The owners have done a lot of work on a difficult building. It's too much like a motel. Lacks any atmosphere, warmth or soul for the price. The cost of staying here is far too high for what it offers.
The stay was more than pleasant, the view was great, staff was very helpful, the "look" of the hotel was wonderful, the food was fine. It was a very good choice in a lovely city.
hotel was newly refurbished and clean, had a bit of a clinical feel. Nice view of the med despite the road and rail no shower screen in bathroom or hook for shower, near to busy road and just over the road was a railway. Pillows were uncomfortable(that maybe just personal preference).
Clean and comfortable with very efficient helpful and pleasant staff. Easy to find and convenient location. Good value for money
The hotel was in a good position, offered a secure car park and was functional. I requested a room with a double bed and another with 2 singles and got 2 doubles.
5Mins walk from train station. Nothing else good about this hotel. There was no welcoming atmosphere at all. I was expecting modern bath room facility for this price. Also I was initially asked to pay more than comfirmed price. I was just so disappointed...
The staff were very helpful. The location good for train/town centre. The balcony was great. There was a comfortable bed. Basic. Slightly overpriced. Carpets not too clean.
Loction is good. Breakfast is not so valued
We particularly liked the garden behind the terrace which was lovely to sit in. The hotel was very convenient for all that Collioure had to offer.
wonderful staff - good location - gorgeous garden area and pool dirty room and outdated and faded carpet/ curtain, wallpaper. Bathroom bad, toilet smelly ...
the atmosphere, decor , the lovely gardens and central location no
Setting in a shady garden was very attractive, a very authentic building. The doors to the rooms were poor quality and therefore there was no soundproofing.
location, facility, courtyard, helpful people. Great place. Wifi codes are a pain to keep reentering, but not a huge issue.
Location was great. Staff were pleasant. Room was fine.
Hotel was superb, room and gardens kept well and the location was convenient to walk around.
A large room, tastefully decorated and attractive gardens with pool. Perfect location right in the centre of town with the added bonus of its own car park. Can be a little difficult to find as it is down a narrow alley and easy to drive past. None
The hotel is beautiful in an old-fashioned way and matches Collioure perfectly. The breakfast (excellent continental-style) and on-site parking are both expensive.
The room was newly renovated and on the ground floor. no
Great location, characterful rooms, very clean, staff very helpful. No hot drinks available in an evening.
walking on the outskirts of the castle was awesome.
Confortable room with sea view
Kindness of people and splendid location.
The reataurant was really superb. In fact I have just written a letter to them praising their hotel and I have never done this before.
Charming, helpful staff Hotel needs a facelift, but then again, it wouldn't be so inexpensive
Friendly staff, excellent food and within easy walk of town centre. Super location beside the beach Decoration a bit tired and some minor repairs need to be done
Location The receptionist's lack of profissionalism. French was the only language the receptionist speaks
position on beach. standard of food. pleasant staff. endless dull corridors
Restaurant is amazing!!! Would be good to have more towels and more shower gel.
Banyuls sur mer is an extremely small village. However, this hotel is actually not located in the village. It is actually located on the other side of a rather imposing cliff. For some guests, this would be a huge problem since it makes it quite difficult to get to the town without a car. However, the location is also part of the hotel's charm. The hotel is situated on a small beach. And, there are very few people who use it in the off-season. It is also located next to a small bakery, which has tremendous pastries. When you book through Kayak, hotels apparently receive an email or fax with your payment details. Without telling you, this hotel then manually runs a hold against your credit card prior to your arrival. The problem with this approach is that American credit card companies now issue chip cards. And, they suspect fraud when the chip card is not inserted during the payment process. The consequence is that your credit card is then turned off when hotels employ these kind of holds. That is what happened to me. And, it completely ruined my one-day stay in Banyuls - as my credit card was not reactivated until two hours after my departure. To make matters worse, the hotel management did not respond to my follow-up email explaining what happened and recommending that they change their check-in procedures so that it doesn't happen to future Kayak guests.
Once I changed rooms, nice view of the sea, sound of waves on the beach. Great restaurant 'La Littorine' but too expensive for every day, and very limited menu. Avoid the "garden rooms" (which I had originally booked) - especially if you are claustraphobic - no views because no windows! Banale "international" breakfast, with coffee from a push button machine! It's a 15 minute+ walk into the town of Banyuls-sur-Mer.
The room was very basic and run down. It had a cold feeling. The hairdrier was broken. The vieuw was barely none. We had expected something completely diffrent, from what we saw on the website. The price was way too high, no value for money.
facilities but I wanted a appartment and I got a hotel room. Timetibles too narrow for swimming pol and poor breakfast
The bedding and towels were changed every day and our room had a superb view of the sea. Their breakfast room/restaurant had panoramic views of the sea. Hotel needed upgrading. For example, tiles were missing from the swimming pool and grouting was dirty in our bathroom. No air conditioning in our room during a very hot time of year. We slept with the window open but as we were directly above the only road in or out of the area it was quite noisy. Hotel had a steep hill or 125 steps down to the beach and town, which website does not mention.
Wonderful view over Banyuls and the sea. Very comfortable. Reception staff helpful. Parking good. Limited menu during the week - one night everything we ordered was unavailable. Attendant shut swimming pool early - very offhand.
Very relaxing and quite place The staff at the restaurant were not very friendly
Beautiful location, very helpful staff, clean rooms with balcony overlooking the sea, excellent buffet breakfast and good leisure facilities.
excellent food, helpful staff, verygood leisure facilities-thalassotherapy. rooms slightly spartan
I enjoyed the use of the pools, however it would be more convenient if they opened earlier to allow a decent swim before breakfast was over. The bar was never open!! We could not understand why there was a 'shut-down' of the bar facilities between 2pm and 6.30pm and also why the bar was closed at 9pm when we returned from the town??!! It was not even possible to get a bottle of water! The rooms could do with modernising as the hotel is selling itself as a relaxing luxury resort and to be honest it would not take much more effort to make it so. The basics are there it could be awesome!!!
The outdoor salt water pool was superb, all the other facilities were good too, if you wanted treatments and were prepared topay then they were all their. The food in the restaurant not brilliant, and wines very overpriced but typical of a hotel in France of that standard
It is well situated just outside of town with beautiful vistas. Nice to have a spa at the hotel. The hours at the spa were very limited. Closed between noon - 2 PM and after 7 PM. The room is pretty basic.
Pleasant welcome and helpful staff. Clean, well-appointed room with great views over the sea. Quiet at night A little inflexible about catering arrangements at night
Friendly staff and very comfortable, spacious room with sunny balcony overlooking a quiet cove. Also, there was good parking space - a rarity in Colliore. It was a pity that the restaurant was closed as it was late in the season, although breakfast was available.
Staff was nice and accommodating, seaside location was awesome, and it was good to be 10 minutes walk from city center for the relative tranquility the site afforded. Lights from nearby road at night made it necessary to close curtains for sleep (but not a big deal).
The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the free parking was very helpful. No coffee maker in room and no internet access for those of us who do not carry laptops or I-pads.
Good location; close to Collioure; free parking; excellent restaurant in hotel; friendly and efficient reception; quiet and clean room.
The hotel is about 2km from the centre of Collioure which allowed one to escape the crowds. Very nice location with a great pool and access to a quiet cove. Excellent food and very nice staff. Rooms comfortable and spotless
It's a nice building in a nice location, although to get to Collioure you need to walk about 15 minutes. The staff is friendly, and we got a suite which could have hosted four persons (just one bathroom and one toilets room though). The hotel has a swimming pool, I do not know about the access to the beach as we got late there anbd stayed only for one night. The one problem we encountered was with the Internet connectivity - it is by cable TV, and did not work for us. The night watch could not help in any way with it (and yes, we do speak French). One more problem - breakfast is very basic.
Of the 7 hotels we stayed in during our holiday in southern France this was the best of an excellent bunch! The people, the hotel and the location were just great.
Great restaurant, great pool facilities, great location by the beach. Hotel a little old.
The location of the hotel
Relaxing.Good food.Good beachside position with adequate beach facilities.Staff extremely pleasant.Elderly clientele at this time so early to bed. A little too far from centre.
Lake side location
The Maitre D the reception staff and the fillet steak. The entrecot.
Close to the beach and far from commercial and noisy centre of Argeles. Not far from Cerebre and Collioure. Breakfest to expensive compared to what you get.
The food was superb . The general standard of the hotel and staff was excellent. Look forward to going again.
The reception staff were excellent, the senior waiter was a little brash and loud, all other staff and matters were fine, although the food was overpriced relative to the surrounding restaurants. Thank you for a pleasant stay The only real complaint I would have is about the surrounding grass areas along the seafront where dogs' faeces litters the ground and I would advise the hotel to make represetations to the local authorities to ensure that the dog owners pick up after their dogs; I heard several others complain about this.
The Hotel was in an excellent position and the staff where very helpfull. Some of the decor was a litle tired but still very acceptable. I didnt have any problems at all.
