Pros: Location was wonderful, loved the sunset views. Unit was good for a couple and 2 friends.
Cons: Service on second day wasn't as good as first day.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Room was very noisy due to people in the room above, not all facilities open and useable, food poor quality expensive and not much choice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Natural and serene surroundings, located at end of Keneperu Sound. Beautiful sunsets. Friendly staff. Courtesy vans to and from Water Taxi. Delicious lamb shank dinner. Comfortable beds. Free WiFi.
Cons: No cutlery or plates in room just to put a sandwich on. Some property maintenance required around Lodge and railings on steps to some rooms. In our room the drapes had multiple glides and hooks missing hence sagging gaps.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, view of Portage Harbour. Friendly staff
Cons: No screens on windows & doors in our room. Noisy pedestal fan in our room. Upstairs room got 'stuffy' at nighttime, so when opened windows for airflow, had insects flying in, which made it hard to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended
4.0 Okay
Pros: Room and beds were comfortable and clean
Cons: Limited dining options. Buffet was very expensive and not great. Activities that were advertised were from Picton, an hour and a half drive or by water taxi.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning location overlooking Kenepuru Sound with large shared balcony area on the edge of the private beach. Good for outdoor eating with large table and chairs. Beanbags for lounging on the deck. This is the best location we’ve stayed in in our 4 week tour of South Island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff where very kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we loved it. stunning view, fabulous host, delicious food ( from tinkers kitchen) the whole time there was so much relaxing.
Cons: everything perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The on site restaurant Tinkers was superb! I think the chefs name is Rochelle, she is amazing! Hiking views a must! Hosts happy and helpful, could not ask for better!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The heritage building is offering an amazing view and the resort is located in a very isolated and quiet place. The area is offering some nice walks, and it's very well located if you are visiting the area.
Cons: The building hasn't been really modernized, which means that you have a pretty old shower and not very practical switches / power outlet. But it's part of the experience. The main downside was more that it's not sound proof between the units, which can be bothering. Also if you get the family apartment with sea view, you will have a door shared with the other apartment of the building, that you can't close, and the balcony is also shared. As per the main door, you can't close it either, so just be careful not to leave any valuable personal item when you're not around. Finally WiFi isn't actually available in the room and they won't really help you finding a right spot. So just expect not being online while in your room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning place, wonderful facilities, definitely will return

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, I can see the waterfront through my room, feel pretty good !
7.0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast. Excellent shower. Comfortable bed. I ate in the restaurant and while the menu was very limited with no vegetables available, the service was great and the steak perfectly cooked.
Cons: There was no hair dryer or iron available in the room. There was no information about the tv or room service or meals available. There were small holes in the skirting board in the room.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Very disappointed in our room Broken basin, just not up to Mecure standard. Know they have better rooms as have stayed before.
Cons: The room.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location...is was close to everything
Cons: We did not get told or agree to $50.00 being taken from our bank account (we have still not received that money back yet). We were not happy with this and think that we should have been informed, we recommend definitely telling your reception staff to inform customers of this as it put a dampener on our experience at your hotel. However we do understand that money needs to be held for incidentals, but think there should be a clearer understanding.
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff were considerate and thoughtful, giving us a free complementary up upgrade. The film channel was also good. I liked not having to walk through the hotel to leave or arrive - we were able to come and go as we pleased.
Cons: Not applicable
6.0 Good
Pros: How close it is to the shops and other venues that we needed to get to.
Cons: The sound of the metal stair access outside is a bit noisy. The balcony sliding door didn't have a lock.
6.7 Good
Pros: Hotel Restaurant offers magnificent food.
Cons: The lift is only available 5 stairs down which is uncomfortable, and is at the bottom of the passage far from the Reception. A room with a bath is something which I missed.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location and cheap room rate. Room was clean and staff were good.
Cons: The hotel definitely needs the upgrade its getting. Last night I couldnt get back in the main door, luckily the side door was open.I would recommend the hotel after the upgrade.
6.6 Good
Pros: i liked the convenience of location, new decor room 313, minor incident handled professionally by staff. able to leave bag for short time after check-out instead of dragging it around picton shops whilst waiting for the return train.
Cons: having to get on my hands and knees on the floor and plug the kettle in whilst leaving the kettle sitting on the new carpet as the power outlet behind the bar fridge was unaccessable and the cord too short.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Proximity to town and ease to find.
Cons: At no time were we notified of the on-going Construction/Rennovation to the Hotel until we were unpacked in room. Room was cold (not prepared for guests), noisey rubbish truck outside. Upon inspection, noted it was a crane withing 30 metres from the room working on the property - after putting up with it for 20 minutes we enquired from Reception with regard to when it would stop. Told at 7.00 pm restarting at 8.00 am in morning. Raining heavily when arrived were unable to really look at exterior or be aware of the noise levels. Unfortunately no compensation of any sort was suggested and the Jack Hammer starting at 7.45 am the follwing morning was the end. Not good value for money at all!!!!!
5.6 Okay
Pros: I arrived late,so I felt a bit out and there was no bar open so I went to bed 10pm
Cons: No cooked breakfast and the continental was meager and overpriced
6.0 Good
Pros: The round bed
Cons: No information about breakfast in the hotel info. No cooked breakfast available.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: A clean and well-run hostel with friendly hosts who paid attention to the details.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great space for cooking, play for the kids. Comfy beds!
Cons: The lock on the bathroom door in the unit wasn’t great but was ok as was just us family.
7.0 Good
Pros: Super clean and the shared bathrooms were kept very well super clean and not wet.
Cons: A wee bit noisy as the ferry leaves or arrived in the middle of the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Billy the goat is an exceptional host. He shows up at the most opportune times to entertain and amuse. The two cats are real characters and the dog is simply neurotic. As for Nikki and Gary, they can to be found wandering the property looking like they are hard at work. This is not your typical backpackers stay. It is much better, except for the dead bodies in the cemetery down the street.
Cons: There's nothing to dislike.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was walking distance to Bluebridge ferry. Everything was clean, staff informative, kitchen was good.
Cons: We could hear noise from adjacent rooms, but they were very quiet so not a problem. Lounge area seating seemed worn.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was OK, the scones were warm and light and there was butter and sweet jam and tea. Enough for an old girl like me.
Cons: The entrance door felt locked when I arrived (the door jams), and the intercom didn't appear to work, so I was left wondering how the heck to check in. Suicide? The kitchen could be better arranged so there was easier access to the plates etc. And the same with the scones and particularly the butter and jam - they could have been placed better for more people to get at. I didn't like the taps in the kitchen. You couldn't get a plate under them to rinse because of where they'd been installed, too close to the corner and too far back, or with too short a tap. I am not a fan of door locks that require you to remember to find the key, before ducking out for a pee at 3am, if you don't want to get locked out.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, quiet area of town. Easy walking to town and especially to ferries. Sweet cats made it feel more like home. Would stay again if in the area. Good value for what we got.
Cons: Wish the scones were made earlier for those of us taking first ferry out. Heard how good they were and I would have enjoyed having the opportunity to have tried one and to have something to eat before taking the ferry. Otherwise, nothing. It was perfect for what we needed for the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff Clean room
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The fresh Scones in the morning are amazing! And the jacuzzi!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was wonderful, well equipped with all needed for self-contained facility. Great views of the mountains and harbor. Shower was great, and so was the bed. We've been there many times and we will come again.

8.5 Excellent (45 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Bay of Many Coves Resort in Queen Charlotte Sound, you'll be 14 minutes by car from Dryden Bay. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing location, beautiful food. Everything was perfect.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The only good thing about this lodge is the view. But it is not worth the trip. We have better staying experiences across NZ.
Cons: 1. The location and transportation is definitely a bummer. We contacted the hotel about transportation. They don’t provide hotel transfer. We have to book by ourselves. The water taxi is only 30 minutes, but cost $50 NZD per adult one way. Most importantly, the boat service is not punctual. 2. The dinner and breakfast experience are terrible. It is far from fine dining. The food presentation is nice. But it tastes horrible, especially the dessert. We tried every kind of dessert, and finished none. It is all sour rather than sweet. The entree is average. The most disappointing thing is the service. We have spent two hours to have a three courses dinner. Breakfast experience is similar. Long waiting time. We spent one and half hour at breakfast and almost missed the boat. All in all, I won’t recommend anyone to stay at this property. Facility is in good shape, but service needs lots of improvements.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Great location
Cons: Very unexperienced staff (basically all work and travel), not what you would expect for such an upscale price and for a hotel which is part of SLH. Rooms poorly furnished (feels like IKEA), very damaged wooden floor, again: not what you would expect looking at the price tag. Our room was close to the Restaurant with a lot of noise from air conditioning until the evening - not what you would expect when you book such a remote place and seek for peacefulness and quiet spots. Food was good. When we told the hotel manager about our disappointment there was quite a negative reaction from his side, not even an apology. Luckily, we only stayed one night, were happy when we finally left with the first water taxi available.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice location pleasant staff including helpful management. Turn down service a nice touch. Reasonable wine list.
Cons: The main thing was that the cuisine was not up to the standard we would have expected especially with a history of several awards in the past. Room was comfortable although bedding was hard so could do with some attention to that. Overall it is reasonably expensive to stay here but then again it is in a remote location and everything has to come by water taxi so that needs to be factored into the equation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning property in a beautiful location. Great staff and food. Highly recommended. We loved Steve the Cat.
Cons: There really was nothing at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, well appointed units and great facilities. The staff are fabulous.
Cons: The rain! But couldn’t really be fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location to get away from it all. Friendly staff and the GM, Graeme was proactive and always there when you need him. I have never had so much contact with a GM at any hotel!
Cons: What is there not to like?
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, nice breakfast.
Cons: Hotel feels bit dated and lacks investment since last refurbishement in the ‘90ies (?). Not enough value-for-money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely accommodating and their attention to detail superb. All our meals were fantastic. We loved the options the resort offers, you can be as active as you want or relax all day in your apartment and still make most of your stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely W*O*N*D*E*R*F*U*L* stay :-) my elderly mum and I arrived a little later than we had anticipated but we were made to feel welcome anyway, and because we had arrived in the evening time our room was toasty and warm as the heater was put on for us..Such a lovely couple who run "High Street Motel" they really thought out simple but nice touches which made our stay even more comfortable, right down to the complimentary bottled water, cookies and mints which was a nice treat too and they ensured we had a carpark available right outside our unit door so mum didnt have to walk too far.. We can"t thankyou enough and youll most certainly be seeing us again.. 10/10 :-)
