Pros: We have stayed in many beautiful hotels but this was a completely fantastic experience- yes it looks as though it’s a little expensive for the area it is in but it is well worth the extra cost to get a first class hotel and exceptional service from the minute you arrive until you leave.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Staff is very helpful and friendly. Excellent location for skiers, walking distance to rental shops and ski lifts, convenient ski & boots room in the cellar. One can use showers & towels even after check-out.
Cons: The view from the room was to a crowded square, so we felt like on a display if we had curtains & windows opened. :) Breakfast could have been better, juice is particularly bad (sweet).

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, quiet and informal.
Cons: Beds were small (for me). Room was dark and cramped.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly pretty village. Kept our bikes in the room. Cycling over Sierra Nevada next day-epic!
Cons: Basic but comfortable enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is very nice and quiet and everything was superclean. Our room had small balcony with beautiful view to the mountains. The owner is nice and helpful.
Cons: There was little bit cold in the room, more than outside in September, and heating didn't work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The situation is fantastic. We had a room with a balcony that looks out over the Alpujarra mountains. You could see the sun rising and turning the mountains a rich gold. The hostel staff were v friendly and welcoming. Beds comfortable and bathroom clean. A wonderful hostel.
Cons: There was nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: * Great location, right in front of the bus stop and the natural park offices * Good value for money
Cons: * No toilet paper in the room * Sometimes there was no body at the reception
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just 100 meters from the spot where buses to Granada stop; Very warm in the end of October, radiators at max power :) Relatively very good price for value comparing to other available places in Capileira at that time. All very clean.
Cons: Very small and only one window in the room I had - not a big problem if coming late and leaving early the next day though.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and clean and comfortable.
Cons: No heating or first night and the temperature outside was 5 degrees. The owner put the heating on for the second night when requested.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice and accomodating. They provided us with a kettle and a few utensils we needed which was really appreciated, knowing this was not on offer normally. Good location in town next to lookout of mountains and very close to bus station. Room was clean and cleaned daily. The owners allowed us to store our bags during the day of checkout in a locked room which was fantastic.
Cons: Could do with a kettle in the room to allow guests to make tea/coffee. Facilities lacked a kitchen or fridge to help make food prior to a hike etc
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked absolutely everything. From check in to check out everything was wonderful. We stayed for three nights. We were made very welcome on arrival. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily to the same arrival standard. We booked a room with a view and that's exactly what we got. We had a little juliet balcony looking out onto the stunning surrounding mountains. The owners and the accomodation were lovely. As for Capileira, what a little gem. We went mainly for the walking but the little village is very beautiful with good bars and restaurants to choose from. We will return again some day.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Croissants, coffee and hot chocolate on demand , good location
Cons: Skies equipment old and bad looked after
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly owners & staff. Good breakfast. Great location with parking
Cons: Bring ear plugs. Shower cubicle is small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff who ran the hostal. Very clean room. Able to ski onto the piste from close to the hostal and rent skis there which meant no queuing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostal located a bit outside (upside) from the main area, with the bars, shops and main ski lifts. Just remember, distance to the ski lifts and other places could be vertical :) But there is direct aceess to the ski routes 100 meters left, for descending on skies or board to main ski lifts. Or there is a chairlift 50 meters below, that bring you to the main area. Breakfast, just breakfast, That you ususally may have at home. I found myself everything, i ususally can eat at the morning. Jose and Victor are extremely nice guys, always ready to help. It is possible to order skipass right there. I did it at the evening and it was waiting for me next morning. Still, you can do it your own, if you like. You can rent ski and snowboard staff there as well. Just remember, if you are sensitive to the quality, you should better have your own and don't expect too much from rented staff Whenever i have some issues, Jose and Victor always took care of it. There was no shoes with my size - it was waiting for me next morning. When i had some issues with showboard - it was solved very quickly. Thanks, guys.
Cons: The thing i really didn't like is the price. I know that it is ususally expensive, still cannot reconcile with that :). It is good to travellng with the group of 3-4 people to share the costs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, very close to the slopes. Staff is very kind and the guys there take care of everything you need. They provide you ski passes avoiding you long queues. You can also rent your ski or snowboard equipment right there in the structure at fair prices. The breakfast was good. Rooms are clean and well proportioned, They are not so big but for what you need are very comfortable. They also provide you with a parking space just by the structure, (parking can be a nightmare normally in Sierra Nevada under high season). Overall is a very good option that provides you with the necessary that you need for a skiing weekend with an affordable price compared to the other structures in Sierra Nevada. I would come back there for sure in future.
Cons: Nothing particularly
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were comfortable and clean (we were in room 5). Excellent location - 1 minute walk to a lift to the main square (and the main skiing lifts). If you are an experienced skier then it is possible to ski very close to the hostel (almost ski in and ski out) but you need to be able to ski blue routes. Breakfast was good - cereal, fruit, croissants, bread, jams, cheese, etc. The hostel helps to organise ski lessons, ski hire, lift passes, etc if necessary. We had ski lessons and they were very good. Parking at the hostel is convenient. Good value for money compared to some places in the town.
Cons: I would recommend ski hire from any of the places close to the main lifts (in the main square) rather than the hostel. If you hire from the hostel you have quite a journey to the main square in the ski boots which is not comfortable. The ski hire down in the main square was also a much higher quality. This was really the only fault, otherwise a very comfortable stay at this hostel, thank you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it , The staff were friendly . It was clean . For a Hostal it was good value . There were tea and coffee making facilities 24 hours ! The breakfast was adequate for a Hostal am the location was great !
Cons: Nothing really as it was advertised as a Hostal and that is what it was !
Hostal El Duende Blanco - Pradollano - Bedroom
5
8.5 Excellent (330 reviews)
Overview Reviews
El Duende Blanco guest house is located in the centre of Sierra Nevada, just 20 metres from the ski lift station. All of the rooms have a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and heating. The nightlife and entertainment area is just 2 minutes’ walk away. A supermarket can be found just 10 metres away, and a good range of cafés and restaurants can be found nearby. Guests can store ski equipment on site. The property also hires skis and other equipment.
7.9 Good
Pros: Best value stay near the middle section of the ski lift that takes you down to the main plaza so you don't have to walk. Bathrooms newly renovated, stayed there 2 times already.
Cons: Limited on street parking. Paid parking is crammed and car is easily scratched.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: But the staff were very apologetic and the new apt was ok. In the end it didnt affect the enjoyment of my holiday and the manager offered me a free night later in the season to compensate.
Cons: There was a problem with the room and I had to move location....
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Room was next to reception so not ideal for a single traveller
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location very close to ski lift taking you to village centre It was clean ,comfortable and the shower was nice and hot !
Cons: TV in room was awful No cups to make tea / coffees The shower head had to be held as it would not maintain a static position
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location near lift mid station. Walkable to square if lift closed (takes time due to altitude)
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was chosen because it is one of the few hotels offering a double bed in Sierra Nevada ski resort ( most are sofa bed plus bunks ). Room is compact but enough storage space for clothes etc. Skis can be stored in an external locker. Located close to a mini market and a good restaurant. Close to middle station of Parador chairlift n.b. not a skilift. A ten minute walk downhill to closest gondola.
Cons: Pradallono village is built up a very steep hillside. The chairlift only operates limited hours and is expensive ( although free if you have a lift pass ). Be prepared to walk up and down hill and/or endure long wait for chairlift in the afternoon. This is not a criticism of the hotel but of the infrastructure of the village. Bed had a single bolster rather than pillows which we found a bit uncomfortable but typical of many Spanish hotels. No chair/s in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Room was small but nicely decorated and bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Reception area is very small & rooms just off of reception were noisy at times, although reasonably quiet overnight.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and the location was perfect with parking outside and hotel close to the slopes. The staff were nice and friendly and room had all things needed for a nights stay.
Cons: The bed wasn’t the most comfiest but was alright for a nights stay.
Meliá Sol y Nieve - Pradollano - Building
6
8.3 Excellent (810 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Meliá Sol y Nieve was the first building built in Sierra Nevada and the first step in the development of the resort. Since then, it has undergone several renovations to become the most avant-garde hotel in Sierra Nevada, considered the best ski resort hotel in Spain on numerous occasions at the prestigious World Ski Awards. The hotel boasts a privileged location, the most exclusive service and a wide range of facilities, including the 2,500 m 2 YHI Spa, an oasis for revitalising both mind and body. No matter whether you are travelling alone, with your partner or with the family: Meliá Sol y Nieve is always the perfect choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at The Level and the service and amenities were excellent. The Spa is great, especially after a day’s skiing!
Cons: Nothing springs to mind
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff where friendly. Loction is good.
Cons: The service in the bar was awful, very very slow, many times got order incorrect. The resturant buffet was limited in choice compared to the other Melia hotel in this region. The bar was not very child friendly, no entertainment for the kids there at all. They have a small arcade for the kids, buts its located miles away in the basment....so no chance of relaxing here whilst the kids play. This is a very poor hotel compared to the other Melia in this location.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good except toaster didnt work properly so queuing to toast.. Location was excellent. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room which I would expect of a hotel of this calibre. On arrival one of our rooms smelt of stale smoke even though it was a non smoking hotel. It took 2 telephone calls and a visit to reception to rectify this. They wanted to send housekeeping up but we need to change rooms. They gave us 2 new rooms but then the water and biscuits which were in our original room werent in the new rooms. When I requested them, someone brought 2 bottles of water up but wanted to charge. i refused to pay and then the manager telephoned my room and said we needed to pay! There was no apology at all for the situation.
Cons: Better service and understanding of the situation. No apology was made!
Apartamentos Sierra Nevada Welcome - Pradollano - Bedroom
7
8.3 Excellent (323 reviews)
7.5 Good
Pros: Location not great if you have a lot of luggage no lift all stairs
Cons: a lift
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Just steps from the mid station of parador 1 chair lift, which takes you directly down to the gondola. We went at peak season and the queues were never huge. The beds were pretty comfortable. We had two apartments. They were both supposed to sleep 6, but one definitely would have been uncomfortable with more than 4. Kitchens were well equipped with plates and cutlery for 6 in each. Only a two ring hob so no space for a lot of cooking. Kettle and toaster were provided. No hairdryer provided in smaller apartment. Bathrooms nice enough and quite clean. Not enough hot water for more than 3 or 4 people. Owners do not speak much English but we communicated ok in German. They were good enough to provide early check in at 2pm, and look after our bags after we had checked out. Would stay again for the right price!
Cons: The room was basic. When it snowed the bedroom leaked a little around the outer walls.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything I can think of.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cosy apartment in Arttyco building. Kitchen well equipped with almost everything you need. Heating working very well. Location great, just a few steps from mid station stop. TV with good quality dispite with only one English channel. For the price we paid would stay here again. Staff were great, they were always there for you.
Cons: I scored 5 for cleaning just because beds were not made. When unfolding sheets, I saw that they were washed but there was hairs on it. If beds were made HK would spot this and would take them out. The extractor in Kitchen does not do really a thing. We fried some food on first night and was a lot of smoke. Mattress needs some attention. And also a few repairs (easy) to be done.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to lifts, great views, warm and cosy, cooking equipment
Cons: Parking bit of an issue but luckily we found street parking 2nd night
6.3 Good
Pros: The room is big and has a kitchenette with fridge, hob and microwave oven, plates, glasses, pots and cutleries. Secure location.
Cons: You have to take the keys from a hostel located some way off. The staff there first told me I have to wait because the person in charge is not there. Then they decided to give me the keys anyway. They don't speak English at all but luckily I can understand some Spanish. To show me the location of the room she just pointed her finger somewhere up the hill and told me I can either go a long way on the road or I can use some (many) stairs. The trouble is when you get to the location she pointed at, there is no indication whatsoever of which of the buildings you need to go in. No address, no label, nothing. I literally had to try the keys on various doors. All you get is a code on the key which I worked out it gives you the building wing, floor and room number. Very cold, cement-like, floor. Make sure you have warm slippers. There are 3 electric heaters in the apartment and you have to position the mobile one in the middle of the room if you want to be warm. A long way from the centre and up the hill - take a taxi if you have heavy luggage.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Despite not being 'ski to door' it was a great location near to the chairlift. Great kitchen facilities, and spacious 2-bed apartment. Loads of storage space for clothes. Overall, good value for money.
Cons: There was limited hot water, only enough for 1 or 2 showers (for 4 people). Also the vent above the toilet was rotton/mouldy around the outside and dripped dirty water onto anyone on the toilet! The main reason I booked the accommodation was because it was sold as 'ski to door' and I was very disappointed that this was not the case. Some hooks on the wall to hang damp ski kit would have been really useful.

7.9 Good (1,481 reviews)
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Stayed in July too hot 25+degrees and no air conditioning or fans for rooms Very compact rooms Pool very small Rest of ‘spa’ not open Very dark / dated decor Very very uncomfortable beds Breakfast just so so Definitely not 4* quality - have stayed in better 2/3*’s Def won’t be back
5.8 Okay
Pros: It’s a quiet and tranquil location with amazing views of Granada. The breakfast was first class and the staff were brilliant.
Cons: The rooms were dusty and could have done with a good clean. The beds were the most uncomfortable l have ever experienced. I think the mattresses were well past their sell by date.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The person who did our check-in was nice, gave info when asked.
Cons: The website is not quite the same as the reality: spa and massage are not available unless you call the hotel 48h before checking in. This information is missing on their website and booking.com misses it , too. We checked out the same day we checked in because Sierra Nevada ( the place where the hotel is) was deserted. Unbelievable how everything was dirty and almost all the shops closed with paper at the windows. The receptionist at our check-out didn't even asked the reason we go away, neither a smile or any kindness possible. He just communicated that everything is payed so we can go. We will never go back again, that's for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of hot & cold. Views are stunning. Very close to a great restaurant La Antorcha.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with nice star

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. From the minute we walked in it suddenly felt like we were in the Swiss Alps. Loved all the wood around the place which made it feel like a chalet. THe breakfast buffet was brilliant with lots to choose from. Friendly staff too., The bedroom was cosy and we had the best nights sleep. Shame we had to leave.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The female clerk turning her back to me on Thursday, April 25th morning hours. However she might be not European, that’s probably that kind behavior.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Professional and pleasant staff. Excellent food. Skiing from and to door.
Cons: Foamy mattress on the bed. Not enough hungers in the room, only one chair. Dinner could be served one hour earlier. Bathroom could be updated.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is great! Staff very professional and very hospitable. Wonderful hotel to go to ski in a very smart way! ..only 20 metres to the ski slopes!! :-) ..you can go out the hotel, 10 sec by foot and you can ski!!
Cons: Rooms should have a better lighting. Breakfast was good but the quality of the dinner should be improved. The optional parking choice should be better described during the app/web booking phase.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice location near the pistes.
Cons: It is badly in need of un update.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: location was great; flat clean; lockers
Cons: The mobile phone door access didn't work, we had to wait for another person to deliver some keys, which were much better. We weren't told the front door access code to get into the building and the instructions to find the entrance to the building wasn't too clear. Was expecting to have a separate bedroom - a curtain at least would be an improvement.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, view, price, staff including easy to find the property and pre arrival help.
Cons: Everything good.
6.5 Good
Cons: we were really lost when we arrived - we didn´t know where to pick up our key and how to get in, although we had informed our arrival time - the telephone number we had received was with an automatic telephone machine in spanish - if it wasn´t for a nice woman in a pizza place who spoke a bit of english and helped us I don't know what we would have done - and we arrived very late, around midnight (but they knew that) so there were hardly any people up in this small village.... The picture of the building on booking.com and reality doesn't match - not even the name, it is called Indian palace or something in reality - so we were really confused when we arrived and first thougt we'd been fooled or something. So things must be fixed - tell your customers that they have to pick up their key at hotel this and this in the reception - put the right phonenumber on the page and on the door and change the picture so it matches reality.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was excellent
Cons: Our room key would not work neither would the mobile app took a long time to sort out and was not fixed during our stay so had one physical key only. Room floor wasn’t that clean when we arrived I had to sweep it no cleaning whilst there
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Strategic position, friendly and professional staff, clean room. Water and Wine welcoming bottle!
6.3 Good
Pros: Good apartment, little bit small but more than ok
Cons: The Check in is not easy, you have to go to a different location, there is no parking so it makes it even more difficult. The building is from another company and they dont give you any service or help, doors are closed very early at night and nobody told us there was a keycode to get in, nobody answered when we called. We didnt have any key for our locker so we couldnt use it. Organization is a mess and not comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Decor could do with updating

8.3 Excellent
Pros: I have used this hotel for my ski ing trips to Spain's Sierra Nevada mountains for over twenty years. I think that in itself says enough but in recent years I have seen an improvement in the hotels restaurant and bar. I generally stay half board and the food selection for both breakfast and dinner is far more varied than it used to be and the facilities in the spacious bar are much improved. I chose this time to stay in one of the hotels cabins rather than in a hotel room. I can thoroughly recommend this as each of the stone built cabins has an open fireplace enabling you to light an open fire, firewood provided free, in the evening which is very cosy and atmospheric. In the hotel you are able to book ski lessons and hire ski equipment, which is much more convenient in my opinion, than doing it in the ski village. The company is called Granada Aventura and I hired equipment for my grandchildren there. Mario is the name of the gentleman organising the equipment rental and I found him extremely helpful. He also arranged ski lessons for them with one of their instructors named Louis who was absolutely excellent.
Cons: The free WiFi leaves a lot to be desired. I found it very slow and at times non existent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was my third stay at Santa Cruz. While the hotel is situated several kilometers from the ski slopes, it offers bus transportation to and from the slopes for a token fee. This hotel is much reasonably priced than the hotels at the base of the slopes. The rooms are spacious enough and comfortable enough. The meal set-up is buffet type and the food is plentiful.
Cons: The hotel caters to large groups of school children who are pretty noisy at meal times. There is no ski-storage room at the hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: A bit "run down" needs to be renovated.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good value for money for Sierra Nevada skiing. Evening meal was very good value for money and a good choice, perfect for kids. Breakfast was ok. They do need an extra coffee machine though as always a queue for coffee first thing.
Cons: Service in the bar was very slow.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Simple and easy to find, rooms were lovely and warm
Cons: No hot water, but I think it was the time of day when everyone had returned from Skiing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great value for the money and great location.
Cons: It caters for school trips.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Didn't speak English but they try the best. Nice BBQ outside restaurant. They really care about the guests.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was clean.
Cons: It was crazy will kids running wild late at night. As it is a Spanish hotel, tiled floors, the noise travelled. Requested a quiet room - got the room opposite life and stairs! Food at dinner was cold. Breakfast & dinner - mostly processed food including meats and cheese.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Cleanliness, restaurant staff very helpful and pleasant
Cons: Receptionist kind but a smile would have been very welcoming. One of our party was slightly disabled and both ladies in the party found the toilet was squashed in and not easily accessible.Choice of dinner menu was very limited particularly for starters.
4.7 Okay
Pros: Value for money when skiing in Sierra Nevada. Well kept road when snowing. We had (a rental )car and there is good parking space for free.Small gym. Close to Sierra nevada and Granada . Beds OK. Had to change room a couple of times due to problems with the bathrooms, though.
Cons: Some of the staff were very kind and helpful but there were also a few people who acted far from serviceoriented and who were almost rude. The breakfast is poor. I would tell people that the hotel is Ok but also inform aboiut the drawbacks. The hotel is inefficially soundproof
4.7 Okay
Pros: Location was great for sierra nevada
Cons: Meant to be buffet evening meal but hotel put on menu instead which was very poor with 2 starters both fish, 2 mains 1 fish not what you expect from 3* hotel. Asked to purchase ski lift passes from hotel to save time at resort but guy on reception said it takes 15 minutes to do so just get them there as there would be no ques, but when we got there we had to que for over 2 hours which was very annoying when you have 2 children with you, so his laziness ruined our morning.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very helpful staff
Cons: Damp smell in the room and no ventilation in the bathroom
6.3 Good
Pros: Only 10 minutes from Sierra Nevada and is half the price.

6.8 Good
Pros: Great View. Knowledgeable staff, good breakfast.
Cons: Very small bathrooms.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to Ski resort - staff were very pleasant.
Cons: Only worth what I paid (which was half price)... Many more nicer hotels around, it was very tatty and worn, internet was essential to me but not working and wasn't repaired during the stay.
3.6 Mediocre
Pros: lovely hot water for showering.
Cons: terrible breakfast, drink machine needs filter changing and extra cost for using sauna. waiting a long time for someone to attend the bar and lack of t.v. channels.
5.6 Okay
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As a hotel in the mountains it was kept very well heated.
Cons: Th room was very basic for a three star hotel. There were no rug or carpet on the floor. Bath room was small and had no hairdryer and would have been very small and awkward for a larger sized person.

Pros: Location is spot on, right in the middle of where things take place.
Cons: Most facilities are IKEA and a little meeh for the price of the hotel.. One of the rooms was very very very heavily smoked in.. Staff tried rectify the issue, but were unable to sort it out or offer a different room.. They did try though, which is a good thing. Terrace had broken glass pieces and a used plaster in the corner :/ Not great with kids
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We hired the two bedroom that sleep ten for four of us and it was lovely and spacious for our family especially with a teenager wanting his own space and own lounge / bedroom. Great location cosy three bedrooms. Nice views.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is in a great location just set to the side of the main square - the small but comfortable apartments are clean and tidy with the kitchen equiped with the neccesary items and essentials for preparing breakfast/ light cooking There are two supermarkets to buy provisions.
Cons: There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel You are reliant on the outside facilities / restaurants and bars Unfortunately on our trip there was very little open November is out of season Past summer vacation time and not yet ski season It was practically a ghost town With what was open - closing very early at around 9pm Saying that if you have good weather and are prepared to self cater a little it is a great place for walking and getting some fresh air out of season
