Pros. The room was very large, it included a big coffee table sand sectional sofa. It also had a balcony and at least five sky lights, which made it easy to look out to catch the northern lights! (Which we totally did get to see even though there is a ton of light pollution) I don't know what the other rooms are like, but they set up two temporary single beds, which my kids slept on. Breakfast was lovely, the make your own waffles were a hit with my kids and this hotel actually had oatmeal (I have to say gluten-free) And their egg and ham salad was very good! Staff is very helpful (helped us book a last minute tour) but the front desk is not manned all the time. And this was the only place that had towel warmers! You are 15-20min outside of Reykjavik. The #15 bus does literally stop in front of the hotel so if taking a taxi is too hard on your wallet, public tranny is available. And tour operators will still pick you up and drop you off at this location. Location was perfect to do Icelandic horse back riding (Which we totally recommend!) since it was located in this town, a shorter ride than from downtown. Restaurants and grocery stores are a very short walk. Lastly, I'd say this is more of a motel than hotel, some rooms had direct doors to the outside and others, like ours, had a shared enclosed space/staircase (Which was locked all the time for security but kind of annoying when we split up since we only got one key) All in all, glad we got to stay here!
Pros. Nothing
Cons. Photos on website do not give true reflection of accommodation. It is actually a second rate motel.
Pros. Location.
Cons. Very basic rooms. Breakfast selections are very minimum.
