Convenient to the railway station, shopping centre and main attractions.
From the greeting at the front desk to the cleanliness of our room everything was excellent
The hotel is of a very high standard in terms of design, comfort and guest services. It is very conveniently located very close to both the airport, main train station and city center. The breakfast is extensive with many items of gourmet quality. The staff are friendly and professional and I highly recommend this hotel in Pisa.
Good location. Good value for the money. Don't bother with the breakfast if it is not included in your reservation. It is not worth the price.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff - we asked about places to eat and were directed to a superb pizzeria around the corner No.
Not too far away from all the sights, pleasant and helpful staff and extremely clean rooms, very good breakfast buffet. No evening dining room.
I liked the friendliness of the staff as well as the central location and value for money. Nothing!
The location of the hotel was very good, we were near the main train station and the restaurants and bars. The room was functional for our needs. The hotel advertised a shuttle bus to the airport however none exists, this was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. The receptionist was quite rude on check when we asked about the shuttle service.
central location, good room rate no view - room 305 looked onto an enclosed air well/vent but the rate was a good one so not too bothered
The location was good. Walking distance from everything important. Nothing, was pleased with service.
Attractive decor - reception/help
This is a good hotel if you want something in a great location with no frills. Very simple, clean and nothing special. The breakfast was a lot better than I thought it would be. Rooms were simple, small and clean. The bathroom was nice and good sized.
The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was ideally located for sightseeing, with just a short walk to the Leaning Tower.
Staff very helpful and convenient to Tower and railway station via a short can ride.
Nice staff and they were very helpful. The Breakfast was good compared to most Italian hotel breakfasts, actually my wife stated that the croissants were the best she had ever had. Sky channels were a plus and a 10 minute walk to the leaning tower. The shuttle for 10 Euro is actually a good bargain versus a taxi to/from the airport. Easy to take a bus for 1 Euro to the train station to Florence and the train is 12 Euro from Pisa to Florence round trip. We had a nice trip. The beds were very hard. We were not impressed with their dinner menu and would recommend eating dinner outside of the hotel compared to other places we have visited. Not much around the hotel and the little market shop around the corner closes fairly early, so buy what you need early.
Air conditioning was nice. Good location. Friendly staff. The WiFi was terrible. Bad coffee for breakfast.
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and offered modern facilities Service in dining room was rather slow with a rather surly head waiter
Very relaxed, friendly staff, will recomed to our friends in the UK.
Location (quiet), hotel staff, cleanliness of our room, private parking area. No free internet.
The staff where excellent the food and service fatastic The gps took me to a concrete wall and underpass that was late at night and raining may be better to give more directions but stakk provided support and help
Most staff were friendly and spoke good English
Efficient service, very clean, adequate comfort, very good choice at breakfast in nice airy dining room. Good location if you don;t mind walking a bit , quiet at night. Hotel seemed to attract considerate guests. Definately good value for money just don't use the mini bar.
Great Breakfast, free parking at the hotel and close enough to walk to Pisa Tower Bed was *very* hard compared to the other dozen or so hotels we stayed in while in Italy
The location is quiet, close to the leaning tower of Pisa. If you want to stay in the hotel and relax for a extended vacation, this is the hotel you should choose. There is no iron in the room which is quite unexpected for a 4 star hotel. They have iron in a common place but the location is not convenient. If you want to extend your stay , you should inform them earlier. The staff don't seem to be interested to extend 1 night after 10 nights stay.
The room was very clean and had good air conditioning, and the room was very quiet and comfortable.
I liked the fact that it is value for money, breakfast was excellent and it was right infront of the train station. the water was sometimes a little bit cold
I stayed for business so the location was great that it was in front of the train station. Mini-bar was really expensive and you need to pay for internet. The hotel would be even better if these prices can be cheaper.
The wellcome of the personnel & the parking facilities. The location. The cold water as hot water was not hot ..!!!
central location, breakfast ok, service ok aircondition at the room was out of order
nice rooms, clean, friendly and professional staff no
the room is very clean& the staff are very good welling to help all the time the reataurant doesn't offer much varity of food, but the hotel is good
The housekeeping was very good with rooms made up quickly and efficiently.Housekeeping and restaurant staff were very helpful I felt reception could have been more friendly
Clean rooms, friendly staff, great proximity to train station and airport! 0
Very Good location to see the local sites
Location (for the station), very good breakfast - especially the pastries! Slow desk service
The room and the breakfast. The location, better for who is by car.
Stile, little rooms, parkingplace We had to wait rediculous long for being served in the restaurant.A better breakfast-box when you have to leave the hotel early in the morning.NB.The given emailadress firstname.lastname@example.org doesn't work!!!
location ,breakfast, room ,staff all were decent and friendly bar & mini bar prices were extortionate. the evening meals were very fancy. would have prefered plain and simple food choice.would stay again but for no more than a couple of nights.
cleanliness of our room!
Excellent top quality luxury modern hotel minutes from the airport and easy access to pisa central by bus is only 10 minutes.
it is a new built hotel and quite funky with super modern decoration not many choices for vegeterian food, lack of english channels on t.v. there was only one channel:CNN. no coffee/tea/kettle available in the rooms
Everything excellent! The only slight problem was the lack of instructions to use all the technology!
Fantastic Hotel, Staff great, very helpful and friendly. Although new all were striving to deliver a first class service and this was achieved Nothing
Excellent breakfast buffet. Outdoor patio area. Groovy neon lighting at night. A unique well excecuted design. Great service from the staff.
It is a modern desing hotel (probably too modern for my taste). it is not an outstanding hotel but for the purpose to stay 1 night in Pisa was ok. The floor seemed dirty however it is part of the design(?). There is not much to do around the hotel.
Great location. The staff was very nice and informative. We'd stay there again.
the staff and room were very good
The breakfast, and being able to borrow bikes for free
Very nice staff, excellent breakfast in a lovely room. Although not applicable to us, ease of access with a car was a plus.
Friendly personnel, good breakfast, good location, value for money, good and friendly service, free parking
Friendly staff. Comfortable and quiet room. Very clean. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good location just outside city walls and five minutes walk from the station.
The staff were very helpful and friendly would have liked a hot breakfast
I liked the short walk to the city center to where most of the restaurants were. It was also nice to have free parking at the hotel.
great location to the walled city breakfast was awful, room very small
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Fantastic location if you want to be close to the main monuments in Pisa. Bed's were very hard.
The hotel is in perfect location very close to the leaning tower of Pisa. Lorenzo the front desk receptionist was very helpful & has excellent rapport. The rooftop restaurant has a excellent view of the dome & leaning tower & sunset but was not impressed with the waiters & has a limited selection of dishes.
the hotel was perfectly located for the square, it is a lovely hotel, yes it maybe old fashioned but thats what gives it its character, we were very happy with it.
location and service
Its location and the proximity to major sights in Pisa. The hotel offered reasonable facilities for the price charged Poor information on how to access the hotel by car. For a first time visitor to Pisa the need for authorization to access the city center is no obvious and the hotel could have given advanced assistance by providing suitable information. The breakfast room staff seemed to consider serving was a favour provided to guests rather than a paid for service!
The staff were very helpful and the location is excellent as its around the corner from the Tower and Duomo etc. The lack of a working air conditioner! This was a major inconveience in the torrid heat of a July night. We arrived late (around 1a.m.) and by the time it was apparent that the all the airconditioner could do was make lots of noise it was too late to get the matter resolved. As we were only staying for one night I cannot say if they fixed it in time for the next occupants.
I especially liked the location and got a great view of The Leaning Tower of Pisa from our room which is within a three minute walk.
Very high standard of accommodation in a most convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent.
Excellent location- 2 minute walk to the Tower of Pisa and easy reach to shops. Staff are extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
The location is unbeatable. From the rooftop you have an outstanding view of the Tower. The hotel is on the older side. Many of the rooms just need to updated and renovated.
Location very close to the leaning tower of Pisa, the barman was an absolute star, like a favourite grandad, you want to take him home!!! We were given a fairly poor room off a corridor behind the bar.....We didnt really pay very much so cant complain,I think there was a conference going on so maybe they got the best rooms....Anyway it was quiet(for Italy)!!!Shower was extremely poor and small(more water on the floor than anywhere else)..
The room was elegant, excellent Restaurant services in evenings could be improved to the same level as the rest of the hotel.
i liked how helpful the staff were, i liked the free wi-fi access, and i loved the design of the hotel and how it was furnished, and the cleanliness of the room The breakfast was not up to the 5 star hotel standards
Modern feel Difficult to find using the Booking.com directions
Every things were or.
Very new Modern Hotel Can't believe that they not provide Sliper. Breakfast is not enough for all guests
view from the room window.
Amazing view of the Tower of Pisa and Cathedral! A bit outside the city so more relaxed and quiet atmosphere in the hotel. Gorgeous pool and outside area. Beautiful facilities and state of the art room. Totally great hotel and would stay there again in a minute!
good of all! no
The hotel is very modern, room was beautiful, bed comfortable, linens fine. great view of leaning tower of pisa. we left some jewelry behind and the housekeeper came running after us with it. don't find that too often these days. also dinner in dining room was quite lovely. staff very attentive.
The staff were efficient and friendly and the facilities in the hotel and rooms were of a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent.
Nice facility for the money, very nice room. Front desk staff and wait staff very attentive. We were told our breakfast was included when we checked in but to find out in the morning it wasn't. The head waiter was not very nice about the situation, he was a jerk. Not well located to sites, this hotel is in a residential area.
The staff were excellent, the peace and tranquility, the Spa treatments were of a high standard and we enjoyed the food. This was a one off as a special treat. It was a pity that, despite almost daily inspections, the foot bath entering the outdoor pool was not cleaned daily.
Place full of character, spacious bedrooms and tastefully furnished. Very relaxing thermal. Secure parking provided and withing driving reach of many intersting places in western Tuscany (pisa, lucca, viareggio- beach, carrara). Internet not WiFi. Though the hotel provides free internet if you have your own laptop that would connect via lan cable.
The hotel was very nice and romantic.
The Area and the Spa
very nice hotel with very frendly personnel and a very good SPa accommodation. You really have all in one.... No negative points. Yuts somtimes a bit dificult to find your way in the huge hotel!
Very luxuous. We were treated very well, car parking, great breakfast. The personnel was really trying their utmost! Even that we were with our kids 2 & 4 years old was no issue they were all very trully kind! We should have known...it is a spa not really suitable for kids as the pool is a thermic bath 37 degrees... But we managed to stay for 4 nights and went to the beach every day and returning late at night to a great hotel!!!
Restaurant was good as was the outdoor swimming pool. Bar and pool service good. Room was small and only had 1 chair.
Heplful, courteous staff; excellent food; excellent spa facilities; benefits of superior (de luxe) room outweigh additional cost
Everything was great - nice and friendly hotel staff, unbelievable comfort, historical value of the hotel and the surroundings, food...Unfortunately I didn't use the benefits of the termal waters, but the reviews I heard from other people are more than excellent... I couldn'r remember of anything because there wasn't anything to complain about!
atmosphere poor breakfast, some ham and cheese would be good to have
good location, very close to the center
Near the leaning tower and busstation to airport, espresso at the breakfast. Price is high, a lot of traffic-noise, breakfast was very simple.
This is the hotell that i never will visit anymore. The noise from the trafikk was terrible.
Excellent value for money. The manager was very pleasant and helpful. The location was truly excellent as it was just across the road from the cathedral and tower and very close to restaurants and the old town. The breakfast was also very good with meat and cheese, yoghurt and fruit. The heating could not be controlled so was on very hot and we had to open the windows to keep the room at a comfortable temperature.
Nice hotel, nice staff, good location. Nothing
the view from the room noisey with being on a main road. not a very good breakfast.
The hotel was fine for a overnight stay. Not very happy with the front desk support. Though good value for money & exellant location.
Across road from Leaning Tower & Cathedral. Cd not be more convenient for them
View was wonderful. Tower just across the road. Breakfast was basic, could do better.
The Hotel Ilaria was lovely, and our family of four had absolutely no complaints. Our two rooms were clean and exceptionally appointed, and one was accessible to a lovely private patio available to rooms on the same side of the hall. Although it was hot (July), the air conditioning system worked flawlessly in both rooms. The breakfast buffet, which was served in a lovely canopied sunroom, included an extensive selection of both hot and cold foods, breads, juices, fresh fruits and meats. Every single staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly, and the front desk staff member recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner (and kindly made reservations for us) on our first night in Lucca. Since parking is at a premium within walls of Lucca, the fact that this hotel could offer an onsite parking space for our car was a key benefit. We would recommend the Hotel Ilaria highly and would choose it again when visiting Lucca. Not at all.
Convenient to all the major sights and restaurants within easy walking distance. We walked too and from the train station...although easier to go to the station than initially to the hotel. You will have to carry bags up the rampart on going, but all down hill on departure. The hotel staff was most helpful, made several dinner reservations and we were always greeted with a smile and good day. The morning breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day of sightseeing with a hearty breakfast. Nothing and I would book once again during future visits to Lucca.
Excellent location within the walls of Lucca and on-site free parking. Afternoon "snacks" and drinks in the lobby. Helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Mediocre breakfast (good pastries but cold eggs, mediocre buffet and poor coffee!)
It was quiet, comfortable and close to the city centre and railway station One morning the breakfast buffet had been depleted by a large group and even though it was open for another 1.5 hours there was little effort to replenish it and the selection available was poor.
The Staff was very helpful. The 24 hour free refreshment bar was an excellant touch. The location was excellent for walking in the walls of Lucca. Free bikes to ride around town were fun to use.
the staff were great made effort to solve problems when they could. great location good breakfast to start the day. great ambience when we were there the weather perfect beautiful greenery fun to have a glass of wine before venturing out don't get assigned to room101 because you will be up at 5:30 while they are in the process of preparing your breakfast. the clients should be a little more careful when leaving the rooms door slamming can be irritating
Please write at least 15 words. O like to stay here and I will come with family in the future. Also I will inform my friends The business centre need to be provided. I really need this facility including computers and internets
Poor breakfast room - badly arranged tables. People queueing to get a table. Constant noise of running water next to Room 3.
The staff at reception were exceptionally helpful. And the location was fabulous.
The friendly staff and self service food and drink facilities
The amazing views from the garden. No.
Very comfortable - central within old town of Lucca - easy to get to by car - hotel parking
Clean and modern hotel few kms from old centre of Lucca. Very convenient if you are with a car because there are parking facilities and it is close to the Autostrada.Good room and good breakfast
Easy to reach. Good parking facilities. Acceptable walking distance to city center. Some (acceptabel!!) noise from the nearby roads and the Mac Donalds drive in.
great value for money. helpful staff. lovely rooms. outside the town walls but only a couple of minutes in a taxi.
best room, bathroom & breakfast. you can take lazzi bus near the hotel direct to piza.
Very clean and comfortable rooms Very bad neighbor hood when u walk to downtown. I felt so lucky when I get to the hotel safely.
the price is perfect and the hotel is very nice , free parking , good breakfast
Excellent reception staff. Comfortable bed. Very poor breakfast. Thin ersatz juice; hot drinks from a machine; stale croissant. I understand that Italians are not very interested in breakfast but most of those having breakfast were Northern Europeans.Have a smaller choice of top quality food. No adult I know eats coco pops or. Having stale croissants is unforgivable. Satsumas are in season and excellent, why not offer those? One person went up and down the food area, I imagine desperately trying to find something tasty. She settled for a glass of water and a piece of fruit. The previous night we'd stayed in a B&B in Siena and they managed to serve an excellent breakfast. We got a knock down price for the room but had we paid the displayed prices we would have been very un
It's located on a main junction but you do not hear the road It has a very good variety in breakfast A card that is also the key to the room operates electricity If one of 2 persons is out with it the other in the room is left in the dark
The reception staff were excellent, the room was great and the breakfast was excellent. I found it difficult to find the hotel because the sign is difficult to read froma distance.
Location close to the city
The location was very convenient to the train station, airport, and the historic sights of Pisa. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. The front desk staff was very friendly. We checked in late at night, and the front desk person was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Check out with other staff was the same. The room was clean and met our expectations. The immediate block or two right around the hotel felt a little unsafe late at night, but the front desk staff was very helpful in recommending where to go and what areas were safe for walking at that time. During the day, the area did not feel unsafe.
cleanliness of rooms, friendly staff,
Close to train station (few steps) and 5 minutes drive to airport. Excellent for late or early flights. Room was clean and comfortable. Coffee only available in afternoon since they want you to have the overpriced breakfast in the morning.
The Hotel La Pace was situated very near the railway station. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but being a constant visitor to Italy this seems to be the norm.
Good location, close to station. n/a
nothing good The hotel is too old and the facilities are very bad. I got a tiny single room with bad bath room. It's the worst 3 stars hotel that I ever stayed in
This place is only few minutes from the train station and they had a wonderful breakfast area with a very good breakfast buffet. Front desk staff was very nice. From the photos it looked nicer than it really is. My bathroom was not completely clean - the toilet especially so I didn't appreciate that. Also the walls or door insulation wasn't good so whenever someone was going to the room at night I could hear that. Other than that everything was good.
The hotel staff were nice, natural, prompt and efficient. I liked them and appreciated their behavior.I felt I could rely on help from them if needed. The design of it, but it's nothing to complain about.
The bottle of wine waiting for us upon our arrival was a great perk!
a very good service and helpfullness
Proximity to the Railway Station. The Shuttle Service from the Airport.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast included was excellent. We seemed to be put in rooms that were below the standard of the rest of the hotel. On our second stay, we were unable to use the showers as no curtain or shower mount on the wall, and the bathrooms were of a poor standard, a couple of the towels in one room were visibly dirty as though trodden on. Three beds were also put into a two bed room. As a business traveller who stays in hotels frequently the rooms were way below even the most basic hotel in the uk.
The staff were curteous and helpful. Lovely country house in an excellent situation about 5mins from walled city of Lucca. We were upgraded to a junior suite on arrival which was lovely.Only downside was that beds were very hard and the garden could have done with a bit of a pruniing!
The room was bright, large and very well done. It had been a Relais Chataux and you can see why. The enterance to the hotel was on a very busy two lane road. Traffic moved very fast. Exiting was a nightmare. Blind spots in both directions. Very dangerous.
Very peaceful atmosphere, the pool and garden were very nice. Did not notice the motorway across the wall. The food at the restaurant was very expensive. Quality justified a certain price level, but maybe not this high.
The offer of tea as it was raining outside. Their restaurant was closed for the season so I was captive without a car and 7 miles outside of the closest town, so it was great to have tea and it was complimentary. Since we had no car and weren't told that there was no restaurant open, the wonderful caretaker servedmy husband and I some cold cuts, cheese, and wine in the cozy sitting room as a substitute for a real dinner. It was actually quite pleasant and it was warm and antiquey in the sitting room. The shower head and the water pressure made the hot shower really enjoyable. The websiste did not state that the restaurant was closed from November 1 to March 1 so we had no meal options. The taxi from Lucca to Locanda L'Elisa was expensive, and we certainly didn't want to spend it again two times that night to go into town to have a dinner. Also the bed was the worst for comfort I have ever slept in. It was hard as a rock. The room was so elegant, the the furnishing so castle like, that I expected a nice bed like the "Heavenly Bed" at the Excelsior in Florence where we stayed for four nights prior to coming to Lucca and Locanda L'Elisa Hotel. There was also a dead cockroach in the fabric which upholstered the ceiling in the bathroom. Bad lighting - no bulb above sink. No light for reading in the sitting room.
The staff were very pleasing and could not do enough for you .The location excellent , you would need a car . There were some problems with the AC systems . and for me badley designed bathrooms .great for Italians but not for man size Americans .
Staff were very helpful especailly a man called Ronnie. rooms very comfortable and bathroom had plenty of extras poor choice at breakfast
Wonderful accomodation, attantive personnel and cosy atmosphere. This hotel is one of the best i've ever stayed. The rooms are romantic and beautiful, perfectly cleaned up every day. The restaurant is not so expensive but the food was delicious. We didn't need to go to eat out anywhere. All in all everything was perfect.
It was one of the most delightful hotels that I have ever stayed at. The country setting, the subtle landscaping of the hotel grounds with the variety of trees and flowers and the relaxed arrangments at the pool, were all very agreeable. The staff were both welcoming and friendly and did everything they could to anticipate any need. On one evening when my dinner arrangements fell through, they russled up a pizza out of nowhere, late in the evening. When I left, very early on the last day, they spontaneously arranged a simple breakfast. I love to see good professionals at work and I couldn't help but think, that if your Manager engaged himself in training the staff at other hotels, the Hotel Industry would improve one thousandfold. Thanks One difficulty I experienced was the signposting of the entrance. On two occasions, on the busy S12, when a quick decision to turn was needed, I turned into the drive just north of the hotel entrance. A Big, well-located sign, would be both useful and safer.
Thr grounds & hotel are beautiful but you really need a car to get around (we did not). The air conditioning did not work and they made a minor adjustment in consideration
near the centre of Pisa sites We did not feel that it justified its 5* status. At dinner they had a tasting menu that we were interested in but they said we would have to pay the full price without any discount although we were on 1/2 board. Also the dishes we did select did not arrive with their accompaniments on both dishes, mine supposed to have a carrot flan not there. we did mentin this to the staff and they said they would remember for next time! The deluxe room we were given was smaller than a lot of 4* that i have stayed in
The friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. The sheer beauty of the hotel. The breakfast. The eccentric light switches
Dining in the garden The food was poor
Outside breakfast area was very pleasant. The staff were very helpful. The room was tiny which is why I only put 'fair' for 'value for money'.
Tranquil and accessible. Bedroom rather small
The location of the Hotel was fantastic. Extremely close to the Tower but in a quiet street. The room was quite small, but they do warn you of this!
The hotel is located in the old part of town, just 5 minutes' walk to the Tower and cathedral. It has a very good restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful.
excellent location to city center, pleasant staff, good serviceand a very rich breakfast.very nice terrace to have breakfast. small rooms needs plasma screen for TV.
nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff they made you feel very welcome
The staff were very helpful and the room was lovely. The conservatory area of the dining room was very cold at breakfast (it was a very cold day!) and I did not like paying six euros for a coffee and seven euros for one standard glass of red wine.
Great service, updated accomodations in a historic atmosphere
Excellent location in the old city.
Location Very bad breakfast
The building facilities No international TV.No CNN available
Very comfortable, nice and helpful staff, good restaurant, clean, good location
Central location; room very nicely furnished and lovely amenities, room very quiet Front desk personnel
location and quiet no bath tub
Excellent situation, friendly staff, very clean and well run hotel. Our suite had all modern technology but still in style with the age of the hotel We liked everything about the hotel and would recommend it
Qualiy of breakfeast is low and not up to international standards. (once no meat or cheese, only dolci; butter was missing; eggs only supplementory) For transfer to opera one had only the expensive (170 €) solution instead of the usual (50€)
Everything--it was lovely and impeccably clean--The staff service was superb. My son thought the included breakfast could have been more ample and varied.
We were warmly welcomed by staff and management on our arrival, and from that day on, until our departure, service at all times (1.30pm on one occasion) was excellent - at Reception, in the Restaurant, by the Pool, on the Terrace or in the Drawing Room/Lounge (a really spacious beautiful room), there was always an attentive and considerate member of the hotel's team we could call on. It was not our first visit to Tuscany but our first to Lucca and the Puccini Festival, and Villa La Principessa was just a great place for us and contributed hugely to a truly memorable visit. We would certainly stay there again on any future visit to Lucca.
In the two weeks we spent in italy, this Hotel was the best! The charm and luxury of this hotel will bring us back. Wonderful breakfast!
Location, the building - an old and beautiful old villa -, the park around - huge and pleanty of plants, the pool, the furniture inside .... everything, except one. Good food for dinner but not so many to order, good selection of wines - try the rose one - excelent deserts like ice-creme (one of the best ever eaten) and the chocolate trilogy. And do not forget the Schropini ... or ... whatever ... a mix of votka, lemon, ice cream and mint ... hmmmm, excelent. Breakfast it is a disaster !!!... we stayed 12 days and we had the same breakfast each and every day. No vegetables at all, no fresh cheese, the fruits not so fresh, take care on some aliments like packed pecorino cheese or pinaple compot which were almost not recommendable to be served. Ordinary round pie / cakes bought from supermarket ... everythink packed like an ordinar 2 stars tranzit hotel. Definetly the breakfast is not in line with the status of location. Oh, do not forget, I would not reccomend to anybody even to try once the scrumbled eggs prepared each and every day!
We liked the location of the Villa, it wasn't too close to the busy towns and noisy roads and because we had a car, it was easy to reach Lucca and Pisa. The restaurant has a wonderful dinner menu, we enjoyed it so much, we decided to eat at the Villa both nights rather than going out for dinner.
I enjoyed the beautiful view offered by this villa nd the fact that it was quiet The heating system was a disaster. Only the bathroom and the halls were heated. I do not recommend thsi villa for automn and winter.
Fabulous location near wonderful Lucca and nearby Tuscan areas, including the coast, but in a beautiful, park-like setting with all the quiet, peacefulness and luxury of a country estate. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, very engaging. The accomodations, from our room to the bar in the afternoon, to breakfast each moerning, were flawless.
The hotel was wonderful...location , staff ..the overall facility was a real treasure . We used it as a base for 3 days and will return. Everything was good
The recently redone rooms were artistically painted and were absolutely beautiful! Breakfast was abundant and delicious. The Via Degli Angeli, once we were able to find it, was charming and convenient to the heart of Lucca. The staff could not have been more helpful and considerate! I would have prefered free access to the internet, as there was a charge.
the hotel was very clean ,the staff charming and helpful, the breakfast most enjoyable,a most pleasant stay, the staff are to be complimented.
The location in Lucca is great and our room was large and most comfortable with a huge bathroom with jacuzzi, and very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were delicious and the front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. We would most certainly return to this hotel and will recommend it highly to friends.
The frescos on the ceilings and walls of the hotel are charming. The receptionists were all very helpful. It is well placed for the main shopping area of the walled town of Lucca but in a side street so quiet bearing in mind the central location. They have use of a car park opposite the hotel which is very handy but I would imagine places are limited in high season. Very little to criticise - nit picking, there was a strong aroma on the corridor outside our room which I think was an air freshner of some description which I found unpleasant. Our room had a shower over the bath rather than a separate cubicle which I would have preferred.
Staff was particularly helpful, especially with restaurant recommendations. None.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is very central. The bathroom was huge, which is almost unheard of in Italy. Breakfast was also very comprehensive. My room had the promised view over the roofs of Lucca, which boiled down to broken tiles and nearby houses back doors and windows
Nice helpfull staff. Great location, very convenient. Better directions for getting to hotel by car. Tea pots and better access to hot water for tea at breakfast.
Room was a nice size with a uniquely painted walls. Bathrom had a large whirlpool tub, a rare treat in Italy. Breakfast contained many options and was nicely set out. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Stayed an extra day than we initially intended because of the hotel and to have more time in the charming town of Lucca.
superb breakfast and excellent English-speaking staff
persoal service and individual decor
Attentive and very polite staff plus the sensibly long hours for breakfast. The location meant we could reach all parts easily but not have a lot of noise In an ideal world would have liked larger bathroom and wider single beds
Beautiful & snug hotel situated in the centre, very helpful staff! Lack of inside isolation, you can hear guests next door whispering.
We had an overnight stay at this hotel.Very helpful staff.Central location.Very good breakfast.Would stay here again.
The location is close to restraunts and shopping. It is quite a walk from the train station. Take a cab. The electricity and plumbing are old and don't work well. It was extremely hot and too loud to sleep with the window open. They said we couldn't turn on the air conditioning and didn't offer a fan. We were up all night hearing the people above us. The complimentary breakfast gave us food poisoning.
There was a traditional feel to the room and the staff were always most helpful with any queries. Breakfast in the breakfast room was also very pleasant. There were a couple of minor points about the room that needed attention - eg some of the parquetry floor was lifting which could catch your feet.
We found the staff friendly and helpful directing us to several good restaurants, the room was very comfortable and breakfast excellent.
The staff waw very helpful and friendly. They made our stay in Lucca a wonderful experience.
Quiet location. Charming proprietors.Well fitted out
Mario the business owner was beyond friendly, efficient and informative. Breakfasts were feasts of hot and cold food well beyond the usual continental breakfast. An elevator was also a welcome surprise in this old palazzo.
Location excellent for pondering around Lucca (and getting lost!!!)which was all part of the fun. we were in a very warm room - the manager moved us as soon as we told him. The staff could not have been more helpful, with travel information and booking restaurants. Always had time to help. We enjoyed our stay Lucca is lovely. ( we are two mature couples ) Also the wine is wonderful and we tried some very good bottles, dining also very good, with a wide choice of restaurants. We would go back . Breakfast was average - but acceptable.
Location is ideal for exploring Lucca-close to historic centre, restaurants, etc., but in a quiet street away from noise. Staff are excellent- called different restaurants to arrange for dinner reservations tho I had left it too late- going out of their way to deal with requests. Hotel is charming, breakfast is substantial. I was in a single room that was for disabled guests and had some features in the bathroom that were inconvenent- no self-contained shower stall-only a tiled area next to the toilet- that made for a wet floor. wheelchair users would appreciate this but i didn't. No towel racks either-maid used the hand rail for the toilet to hang towels. These are minor issues that can be easily rectified.
The warmth of the welcome we recieved on arrival. the cleanliness of the hotel, it had been refurbished to the highest of standards. nothing was to much trouble for the staff, we loved our stay.we have told all our friends and family about this first class hotel and showed them all the brochure. we will definately be back. no
