Everything about our stay was perfect. We had a beautiful spacious room, well equipped and immaculately presented. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed two evening meals in the restaurant and the food was superb, as was the service. Excellent parking too. We would defintely go back to Hotel Empfinger Hof - it is a superb place to visit the Black Forest area from and the surrounding small town is delightful. We could not fault this hotel.
The breakfast, the room and the staff. Swimming pool would have been nice?!
We had a suite - The room was very big and clean! The bathrooms were very large with a smaller shower. The locations was right off the high way. Breakfast was not worth the charge. If you are a light sleeper the noise from the highway may bother you.
Excellent buffet breakfast. Very helpful staff. Good soundproofing, so the nearby high speed road did not prevent getting a good night's sleep. At the top of a hill, so you need to be a strong walker if you want to walk into town
nothing special no bellboy, no help with luggage, difficulties when checking out
The breakfast was excellent value
Clean hotel - Tea and coffe making facilities - free car park - friendly staff - spoke english - good breakfast. Out of the 3 hotels we stayed at on our holiday this was the best.
Beautiful village in front of the lake, very nice hotel typically german with a good breakfast
A good hotel aimed at the business traveller but fine for tourism and a stop overs Restaurant was closed.
Great central location with parking. English speaking, quiet location off main road. High internet costs through T-Mobile Hot-Spot.
Either new or recently renovated. Liked clean lines of modern design of room, breakfast room. Good breakfast. Central location. Had construction at both ends of street (nothing to do with hotel). A little hard to find, even without construction.
Small friendly hotel. Nice atmosphere. The room was very clean and comfortable. The city of Rotweil appeared to be a pleasant surprise. I was there for a business meeting, and in the evening had the time to take a walk at the city center. It was a beautiful walk. The hotel staff recommended about restaurants which was very helpful. I have enjoyed the stay.
The room was very comfortable. There was good daylight. Mattresses firm and very good to sleep on. Walk-in shower and good towels. Breakfast was very pleasant : on top of the buffet there was a cook for eggs etc... Soap was difficult to squeeze out of containers
Nice hotel located close to the city center, parking on site is a great plus.
Clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. The receptionist was absent already one hour before the indicated reception closing time. We could reach him by the phone and he was kind enough to come to the hotel at our request.
Our room was large by European standards even though we had to have an extra cot for our daughter. Bathroom was great. View out the front was nice as well. We will stay there again. Convenient to area sights. Breakfast was excellent. Standard European breakfast buffet, but they would also make you something to order if you liked - eggs, pancakes, etc.
Friendliness of staff and good service at all times. Very clean. Excellent brekfast and good value dinners. We only booked for 3 days but stayed for 6days it was so good. No Lift.
I have to say the breakfast was wonderful. The hotel location was good and my entire experience was good. I would definately stay there (or any other tip top location) again.
Very good reception hours, very conveniently and nicely located at the A81 motorway, the restaurant seemed to be a nice spot as well Breakfast selection was fine, but the service could be subject to improvement. No Wifi in my room though it is part of the hotel description (---).
The personal service and attention is most impressive. The food is quite good, plentiful and attractively displayed and the breakfast selection is outstanding. My family and I are allergic to feather pillows and we would prefer other types.- We missed the use of an elevator but we received excellent help from the friendly staff to get our luggage to the third floor and back.
personal service and large well equipped room
nothing was no elevator & no parking near by
The friendly atmosphere and great location in the centre of town.
Fantastic old building
What a wonderful hotel! Everything was just great; the staff, the room, the location, the atmosphere!
welcoming good sized cosy bedroom, sympathetically furnished to the period of the hotel. Easy walk to Rottweil centre and its restraunts. Although the cuisine was excellent and the restraunt and its staff were superb, it and the bar were only open ocassionaly during our stay of 4 nights, this may be because of the season (mid October).Parking was also tricky, being next to the high street, only 3 pay and display spaces were available near hotel(free from 1800-0900) with the main car parks 10 minutes walk away.
restuarant shabby & rough towels, broken fan & hairdryer, dirty, bugs.
the building itself is hundreds of years old and - to large extend - still authentic, it is worth to spend a night or 2 in such place at arrival you need to call someone to check you in which is not very convenient - there is no information in english, only in german.
spacious modern room with balcony, extra beds available, nice view on the castle, good coffee breakfast buffet substandard, strict checkout policy (10am), price a bit on the expensive side but still OK, rooms nice - but otherwise the building, restaurant and immediate sourrounding just fair.
Restaurant closes unexpectedly very early (20:00) so if you return late and want to have dinner in the restaurant, think about something else.
Pleasant personal, good hotel. No
Very clean spacious comfortable room. Great view of the castle. Helpful staff. Straightforward but pleasant breakfast. Hotel restaurent is good value for money.
My second stay in this hotel. Perfect hospitality - large rooms, very clearn - very friendly staff.
Enjoyed taking our grandson (11) and youngest daughter (37) to stay in a castle. Also, we had an excellent meal there in 1968 (we were on our honeymoon then - married 23Dec67) and always wanted to come back to stay for our 50th anniversary. We came a bit early and enjoyed our stay (although the goose leg meal was not as good as we had expected). Only the evening meal.
Hotel staff was very friendly and very accomodating. The hotel was beautiful set up on a hill; the room was large and very comfortable and interesting. Breakfast buffet was good and ample.
The food is outstanding and the service brilliant. The bed creaked and could have been more comfortable. An electric kettle etc to make a cup of tea in the morning is needed.
Our visit at Schloss Weitenburg was just wonderful!! I've already recommended it to friends. A great memory for a special occasion.!
The castle and the rural surroundings are great. The staff was very friendly and even though we were travelling with a 2 year old and the castle and restaurant are very high end, they were very nice to our son. The staff made us feel comfortable. It is a nice and relaxing place to stay. The restaurant is excellent. We took day trips to Stuttgart and Tubingen and it was a reasonable drive. It was always nice to come back to the castle to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
basically in the middle of no where, but that's why we choose it. Authentic decor, one really feels the sense of being in a castle. Gorgeous views! hard to find without GPS, but that is its charm
The staff was awesome!! We mentioned our travel plans for the day and they provided information concerning that area, hours and prices of the places we were going. While the restaurant was pricey, the food and service was amazing!!!
A property with an abundance of character and history.Excellent views over the Neckar valley. Friendly staff and good standard of food. Lift provided.
This is a beautiful place to stay and the restaurant with the terrace is very good. Stunning views over the Neckar valley...
Although a little bit of the beaten tracks the hotel is worth a stopover on the way to other destinations or a stay for a couple of days to relax. It's a charming country inn with comfortable rooms, nice amenities and a good restaurant that offers delicious regional cuisine. You will find a good night sleep after a long day on the road, not only because the hotel is located in a peaceful farming environment, but also because you get the most out of your Euro, Dollar or Pound.
Great Hotel, Super friendly staff. The food was great as well. The hotel is located on the road to the castle, which not only had an east access it was very easy to find.
Great food, wonderful service, excellent English speaking people. Highly skilled hoteliers. This place was a real jewel.
The surrounding environment is excellent, place is nice and cozy.
the breakfast was not bad, even if the kindess of the hotel staff left a lot to be desired. it was not mentioned the hotel was very close to the main road with a very heavy traffic, awfully noisy. Without air conditioning, we had to close the 3 windows and could not sleep the 3 nights we have spent there because oppressive heat and noise ! A nightmare !!!
Very helpfull Wine was very expensive
It's snobbish and asked for an extra charge.
comfortable and close to sighting seeing spot noisy if the room facing the main road and the window has to be opened
The hotel is old and very well preserved. The rooms are very comfortable. Our room was standard and had a large bed. Very pretty lighting, and other lovely features, such as marble double sinks in the bathroom, and a cute little balcony. The food was great !!!
Very good location. Just right down the hillfoot of the castle. Easy to find. Ample of parking space. Beautifully decorated. Good food.
