Old Pines Hotel And Restaurant - Spean Bridge - Bathroom
1
9.5 Excellent (163 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I'm traveling around Scotland with my Mom and Gran and we had the pleasure of staying for an evening at The Old Pines Hotel. The staff are so lovely and welcoming, the family room was spacious and comfortable with a large clean bathroom, and the food was amazing! The scenery is stunning, and there's a large field across the street with wooden steps that take you up and over the fence so you can explore the paths. It was really amazing!
Cons: We had a bit of trouble finding the location - but after a quick stop for directions, we were good to go!

Pros: It is a lovely house and the owner is very kind and nice. He answered all my doubts by mail very quickly and he explained us very clearly everything we had to know at our arrival. The bedroom was big enough for the three and there were many facilities; the beds were very confortable, everything was in silence at the night and we would have been able to enjoy the garden in the night but there were midges!! Breakfast was great!
Cons: Nothing. We might hink that the price is a bit high, but maybe it's the normal price for the área...

The bed was roomy and comfortable, the shower stall is compact but great shower pressure. Toiletries provided. You order breakfast from a comprehensive list of options. The limited offering of accommodations in the area may account for the slightly higher price of the stay but I couldn’t fault it either so all good.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view, private atmosphere, very clean
Cons: No fridge in the room or in all the building
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place just on the very edge of Loch Lochy. Our room was rather small, but nicely furnished with a very clean own bathroom. If we came back again one day, we would book a lake view though as those rooms have own terraces. Btw, the owner is very nice. We haven't met her as she placed the keys in a key safe, but she texted me with further information and was very fuss-free.
Cons: The room could have been a little more spacious, but is was totally okay. The only problem we had was finding a place to eat at in the evening. Spean Bridge, which is the closest village nearby, was completely overrun. A boat restaurant nearby only provides a proper dinner when the dishes are pre-booked until 3pm. Eventually we ended up in Roy Bridge where we ate a delicious dinner though, but it was quite a drive thither.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked location and standard of room was very good.

6.8 Good
Pros: The view on the lake is fantastic
Cons: The rooms are very very noisy. There were other guests above our room and we were almost unable to get sleep. Also the interior looks very outdated.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: View is very nice and stunning ! Room is very clean and comfortable.
Cons: A little bit too expansive for a one family bedroom without any facilities (no breakfast, no washing machine, no service).
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Had to ring to gain access on arrival-- no one there , no warning ! Bottled water delivered late at night because tap water was not drinkable-- others in house informed of this-- we were not--granddaughter very ill after drinking tap water--totally unacceptable--Scottish tourist authorities should be informed of the impact on perceptions of visiting Scotland

Cons: Over priced drinks, food and breakfast no atmosphere no games room no bar to relax in
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Paul was a great waiter and Kevin a brilliant chef.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: The tiny room not even within the main building! The insects (some moths and other species of insects! The double bed propped up against the wall, nothing for people who need to go to the loo at night, loud ventilation in the tiny loo, mirror lights not working, very adventurous electric on-wall wiring and odd extensions hanging loose etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got in very late and was shocked at the view from my window in the morning! So beautiful. Staff was also extremely friendly!!
Cons: I have no complaints. It was wonderful. I did wish there was a washcloth in the bathroom.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a really in to the nature. Room was facing the river banks and mountains. Perpetual sound of waves and winds made our stay pleasurable. It gives kind of runaway from the busy life. Place was very quiet and pleasant.
Cons: Nothing to say bad. However kind of isolated from the city. In case if you need to buy something you need at least 10-20mins drive
6.5 Good
Pros: Great staff and amazing views
Cons: Corridors are a bit manky and it was very expensive for a hotel that needs some TLC
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful surroundings lovely place to stay can't wait to see what it's like after the refurbish is completed hope to come with my wife and brother and his wife.
6.3 Good
Pros: The view was amazing and the area out the back was beautiful.
Cons: Staff didn’t direct us to our room and when we dined at the restaurant no one asked at any point how the meal was (my mums soup was cold and my pudding got served after everyone else had finished their dessert). My parents room wasn’t very clean (room 11).
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location is excellent, the Lochy Loch and the possibility of sighting an osprey hunting for food on the loch was a possibility, the view of the Great Glen is magnificent from the viewing veranda adjoining and the dining room itself, whatever the weather. The staff were excellent - working under difficult circumstances of which more will be written in the next box ! My room was clean, all the room/bathroom amenities worked on arrival however read on for a saga of problems.
Cons: Basically, evening of 10th September 2018 there was NO MAINS SUPPLY WATER IN THE HOTEL ANYWHERE - rooms, bathrooms, OUR TOILET, hotel kitchen, bar etc; for a period of 10 hours (which is an unacceptably long time being unable to flush a toilet), our room water supply was restored circa 3am in the night but some guest rooms had no water throughout our stay. We were told that bottled water had to be used for washing-up in the kitchen when serving food in the restaurant. It was a shambles for the staff to try to cope with, during this time we-as guests-had no statement from management, on the restoration of services / offers to adversely effected guests of alternative rooms etc. I shall be writing to the management to lodge my serious reservations regarding the not inconsiderable cost of accomodation at this hotel during the above noted period.
5.0 Okay
Pros: There was a nice girl from czech republic. She was doing almost everything alone.
Cons: We booked the hotel with no possibility to cancel. It would all be ok, but they charged us twice, upon arrival and on the leaving!!! My partner had a breakfast on the other day before we left and instead of charching only the breakfast they charged the room to it once again! We didnt know that as they didnt need our card one more time... we noticed once we got back on the card...I called the hotel, lady I talked to provided me an email adress but nobody responded, it has been days already... and this one upsest me! Mistake can happen, but one nobody reacts...pay back the money which belongs to us. BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL, THEY TAKE MONEY WHICH DOESNT BELONG TO THEM!!!!!! Shame on them! The tidiness and quality is also not the best. How it could be if the poor girl needed to do everything by herself?
7.0 Good
Pros: Amazing view from the restaurant
Cons: Not enough room downstairs for all the guess to sit and not a lot to do. Also seems like the hotel was going through a refit.
