Pros: The rooms are clean and newly renovated but this is nothing compared to the staff! Those people are amazing. Best service I’ve seen in Bulgarian. Way to go!

Cons: Cushions, curtains and music in the restaurant
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I think this place is quite unique in Melnik, with a big - big garden with roses, well managed gras area, river, benches around the river, big parking. The apartment we had was spacious, very clean, memory foam mattres, confortable. View to sand piramides is nice. No "old",specific smell like in others wood type place, this is a modern one! You can pay by card here, which is a plus as the only ATM in the city did not work in 2 from the 3 days we spent there. Brekfast from 7 to 10, is good, with vegetables, eggs, cheese, sausages, cereals, coffe, juce.... The only thing I think is missing here in the nice garden they have is a pool....
Cons: I can't find something with high impact...may be some botle of wather in the room and a free wall power shochet for fridgew/o removing the TV...
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Very friendly family run Hotel. Fantastic Breakfast, especially the scrambled egg! Very good value for money, There is only one improvement I would like to suggest: a bottle of water and a little fruit in the room on arrival would make it perfect+ :-) Hope to see you again soon.

Cons: Bad smell from the toilet.

Pros: Very nice owner. We were late a little in arrival and the check in was finished, but owner Georgo (Djordjo) did not make any kind of problem. He showed us the room and answered on all our questions. The room and accommodation at all is beautiful, new and clean.

Cons: rough roads
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked this hotel. It has somehow a retro look with a modern design in the rooms and the bathroom. The bed and the pillows were really comfortable. The food in the restaurant is really delicious. The vegetables were out of this world - not even close to the plastic food we eat in the cities. I definitely recommend this place. There is a parking space infront of the hotel. Everything was just superb.
Cons: Everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guest house was cleaned to perfection. We booked 2 rooms which were very cozy. The owner upgraded one of the rooms for free. He was extremely helpful and kind- he had kept a parking place for us and even arranged a car to drive us to the restaurant because it was raining outside and we had no umbrellas. Thank you for the great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything/ 10++ and all the best to the owner for such a wonderful place. Food is delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love it. We booked this while traveling to rila seven lakes in the morning. After the lakes we went to the monastery, and from the monstery we started driving toward Melnik at 8pm and knew that dinner might be hard to find at that time. We called ahead to ask if there are places to eat there or if we should stop on the way, and they said they would leave their restaurant open and wait for us, which they did. The room was pleasantly surprising for the price. The hospitality was great. The restaurant and service was great. I felt bad because while I was eating I looked at the waiter outside who was dancing, and was just amused but the owner who was sitting at the restaurant immediately assumed that I needed the waiter, and tapped the glass which triggered the waiter to throw out his cigarette and immediately come to our table to check up on us...this happened twice and I had to get my gf to translate an apology to the waiter for the confusion. I also had a hard time picking between the different meats, so they served me a customized plate of different meats. The free breakfast was also good.
Cons: Although the bathroom was very modern looking, and very clean, there was a bad smell that just wouldn't go away. This is not a deal breaker, just don't hang out in the bathroom.

Pros: Loved it so much. So beautiful and so cozy. Everything was perfect. Very high standard. The area surrounding is like Tuscany. The villas are extra ordinary.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Gorgeous location surrounded by beautiful scenery; the fastest way from Sofia to experience Provencal charm; the indoor pool and spa area.
Cons: Restaurant was incredibly overpriced with mediocre food and poor unimaginative presentation. Same issue at breakfast. Eating on site - Highly NOT recommended. Waiters are hit and miss, overall staff may be ok for Bulgarian standards, but a far cry from high end accommodation standards. Overall, meets 4 star category expectations but at 5 star prices (stayed in-season at another RC property, which was 5-star in Provance, France for the same price). Will likely not go back unless they improve food options; the restaurant is a huge dealbreaker!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Zornitza Family Estate is a pure poetry. Calm and peaceful, cozy and timeless atmosphere. The SPA facilities are amazing, big attention to every detail. Books, magazines, fresh flowers, delicious coffee. Delicate sense of luxury and smiling staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is so amazing, it is almost unreal! This is the second year my husband and I are coming back and the place has gotten even better (they added a new beautiful indoor pool in addition to the warm, mineral outdoor one). I waited all year to come back for two days in paradise. The beautiful vistas, the serene and relaxing atmosphere, the outstanding personal service, the gourmet cuisine, and wonderful wine - it all comes together for an unforgettable experience. We will be back again next year!
Cons: Nothing, everything was above expectations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Exilent place
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, picturesque estate with stunning views and facilities Wonderfull welcome by Chris and the rest of the staff- everything was explained and shown (and there is a lot) Villa was super comfortable and well designed- at my request, I was also shown the hotel rooms which were impressive as well Spa is beautiful, grounds are impressive and the plans going forward promise much evolution We had a great time!
Cons: Currently no fitness center which was a surprise to us as website stated there is one (we were told it should be ready within a month) The food at breakfast is nice but they can and should do better with variety and quality, dinner on the other hand is 'trying' very hard but not yet in par with the overall high level- there are only some tasty and sparky dishes the most not so much
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Exquisite hotel , great location, outstanding staff , the perfect place to get away from the city , top restaurant
10.0 Excellent

Toni doesn't speak much English, but is friendly and we communicated somehow :) The rooms were cool in the middle of the summer. Oh, and the mosquitoes nets were very welcomed.

Pros: The two ladies who were our hosts where amazing in their hospitality. They were kind to prepare delicious dinner for us. They even woke up earlier than the usual 8 am to prepare our breakfast as we needed to leave earlier on the next day. The rooms were charmingly decorated and equipped with high quality furniture.

Pros: Welcomig guest, very tasty food and clean rooms. It is situated in the middle of nature.
Cons: The owner is also the cooker, so waiting time for food might be too long, but in the end the taste is perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts. The place was nice and quiet. The food in the restaurant was delicious.
Cons: Only the bed wasn't that comfortable, because I'm very tall and although the bed seemed to be 2m. long, I couldn't stretch my legs because it was with a board on the lower end.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was superb. Old town with beautiful view to the mountains. Exceptional food, low prices.

Pros: A lovely hotel , in a very peaceful setting with a fantastic cheerful host who couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable x
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful and quiet. A pleasant surprise up a long valley, above Melnick
Cons: The meal options were limited, but the food was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We fell in love with this hotel from the pictures on the internet and it was even better in real life. The hotel is in a lovely traditional style, inside and out, with the rooms facing onto a pleasant sunny courtyard. The location is superb - just on the edge of Rozhen village and about 2km away from the monastery, perfectly placed for exploring the nearby countryside and surroundings. It is about about 6km from Melnik so away from the busy tourist area, and very peaceful and completely silent at night. It was very easy to find and there is free parking just outside the courtyard gate. The lady who greeted us was friendly and welcoming, her English was limited but enough to get by. She gave us a welcome glass of their own wine each which was a nice touch. The room was clean but basic (no fridge, no safe) and not very big, but it was OK for us as we were only staying one night. The bed was a proper double bed and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The wifi was good and there were sockets next to the bed which is very handy. The included breakfast (French toast, jam and cheese) was homemade and delicious, not a lot of it but can’t complain as the room is already very good value for money by western standards even without breakfast. The restaurant is decorated in traditional style and also has outdoor seating in the courtyard which is where we had our breakfast - lovely view onto the mountains. We had planned on having dinner there but arrived later than we intended and were too tired after an early flight and a long day driving! We would love to return if we were back in the area, and spend more time here.
Cons: Our only complaint is that we booked and paid for a superior room but we were actually given a standard room (exactly the same standard room as shown in the photos on booking.com). No offer of any money back for not getting the room we booked and the lady’s limited English made explaining the situation impossible. It wouldn’t stop us returning but we would be more careful next time.
Guest House Biser - Melnik - Building
8
9.2 Excellent (176 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in the centre of Melnik and 1.8 km from Melnishki Piramidi, Guest House Biser features free WiFi throughout the property. All units are air-conditioned and with private bathroom, flat-screen TV and refrigerator.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No breakfast provided
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What a value! The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and in a great location! The bathroom was updated with modern decor, there was a very big fridge the guests could use and the private balcony was the perfect place to enjoy some leftovers with a view. Internet was dependable and the original wood doors and windows made the space feel authentically integrated into the vernacular.
Cons: The one and only complaint was the trek to take our bags up to the room. But this is what you get with a guesthouse built hundreds of years ago. Also, the host was more than willing to help us with our bags.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean & peaceful. Cold AC was great & needed in mid-June heat wave!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and tidy. You can't expect something luxury but the place managed to give an authentic atmosphere which is quite important in order to get some of old town charm.
Cons: The bathroom was quite small. Also the air conditioning seemed that it wasn't working properly. When I increased the temperature of the air conditioner there was no change in its output and the room stayed chilly during the night
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - comfortable room and beds - TV - clean - central - friendly staff
Cons: - very small bathroom
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice room for staying overnight. Basic, but clean and very reasonably priced.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The GPS lokation is incorrect. Please write a correct data.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Guest house is perfect 4 relaxation. Extremely clean. The only "issue" ( but it didnt bather me) is the tiny WC. But i love tiny wc's
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just right. The hosts were very attentive and helpful, the rooms were very clean and well air-conditioned. The house is right in the middle of the town and the rate was not bad. There is overwhelming feeling of relaxation and easy going - it is unbelievable.
Cons: The service rooms are rather small, but still functional. The fridge is common for all rooms and the common door is not always locked. The parking is on the street and it is difficult to find place - after all the town is too small for the number of tourists. The two issues above are actually irrelevant if you are not paranoid about security - especially in this town's environment.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for two nights and this was the first time we have ever been offered fresh bedding. Great communal area downstairs with use of fridge-freezer.
Cons: Access road was a bit tricky to negotiate (but thus was the case for most properties and it was better than many).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the welcoming and the view is something to remember. our favourite place to stay in melnik.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was very clean and new, there was hot water and it was peaceful. Also the price was good enough and someone had the oportunity to ask for coffee in the morning. I can imagine this place and this view in spring and it is peaceful.
Cons: Is a pet friendly guest house but when i said that we will bring our little friends the response was that they hope the dogs wont damage the place and i felt all the time that in reality they don't want pets there, maybe they had problems and damages in the past. Melnik is very small and wonderful and this guesthouse was ok but it could be better if its location was better or if in front of the building was something else than mud. One other problem was the bathroom which was extremely cold without heat or air condition and none of us had the courage to take a bath despite the hot water. I guess that this guest house will be better in the future !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is big and there are three floors. All rooms are comfortable, clean with nice view to the town. There is also available big dining room in front of the house for all guests. The location is perfect - in the center of the town with very nice view. The owners were very kind and gentle.

Cons: Nothing.... but we think the waitress was to bussy with keeping everything running, that's why things where forgotten or it took very long before the food/breakfast was served.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing!! They actually allowed us to choose from different options they had and gave us great advice on what we could try, also their staff spoke perfect english and made us feel warmly welcomed. Yet even those we couldn't actually talk to (language barrier), made sure we had everything we needed and even guessed most of our hadn't gestures correctly when it came to communicating :D Btw. the location is amazing! Perfect for a quick drive up the mountain to the monastery and then you get to enjoy a beautiful walk to the Melnik Pyramids.. make sure not to miss them!!

Cons: We booked, expecting a wine tour and tasting at the hotel. However the winery is 16 km away. We did go there and had a great experience, thanks to Maria.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and its restaurant has stunning view over the Melnik city. The location is just perfect being in the city center. Convenient for travelers with car as the hotel parking is spacious. Our room for 4 people was spacious (about 50 m2) and the beds were comfortable and huge in dimensions (must have been 180x200).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was perfect.
Cons: There is no elevator.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Not only you get a large and clean room, but you also have free access to the jacuzzi and, for 10 leva, to the saunas. On top of that, you get an excellent breakfast.

Pros: Location, staff, very, very nice building and comfortable furniture. Food was good.
Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: we are staying at least 2 times per year in Melnik, in our ways to and from Greece and anytime possible we use this hotel. excellent location and value for money! we love Melnik such a great place...
Cons: never had the time to spend more than a night here..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my breakfast after a long early morning walk in Melnik ... I was the last one to show up for breakfast but they let me "keep going" until I had had enough!! Perfect location to see Melnik on foot !!
Cons: Car park was full except for a very narrow space.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money. Use of the jacuzzi for the whole family was lovely.
Cons: Shower tray leaked all over the bathroom. Hair left in my children's bathroom.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location perfect, friendly staff but only a few speak English.
Cons: Funky smelling bathrooms. Breakfast could be fresher, juice made of real fruit, some genuine ham and not supermarket products maybe?
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was nice and quiet with a good view of the town and the evening sunset
Cons: The standard of the breakfast was poor for the hotel rating and the price paid for it. For a VIP suite and the price we paid I had expected at least some complimentary things in the fridge (totally empty), a robe to use for the SPA Wellness centre.

Pros: location
Cons: bad small noisy bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet, cosily, the staff were friendly and smiley
Cons: Everything was perfect
5.5 Okay
Cons: All day and late in the night was noise in the building - load music and voices. Around 23 o'clock I sent sms to the owner, but nothing happened and around 24 o'clock I called the owner to tell her about the noise. The music stopped in few minutes, but the voices continue to talk and laugh loudly. It was a bad experience for us, we could't relax in the room or sleep. In the morning we were very tired and was difficult for us to drive until our destination.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our short stay at this lovely guesthouse. Check in and out were easy. There is a little gift store on the first floor of the guesthouse. It is owned by the same family. That is where the check in and check out happen. Our room was warm and very very clean. The house is located at the end of the main street in Melnik, so it is a little further away from the hustle and bustle in the busy season. If we ever come back to Melnik, we will be looking to stay at Shestaka guesthouse again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The walls were nicely hand painted which gave the place a nice arty atmosphere! The beds were wooden which also gave it a homey feel. And the staff were super nice! And there was a view of the Melink rocks :)
Cons: We were in the family room, which was made of 2 single beds, but they were right next to each other with a gap between the mattresses only, so they might as well have been one double bed, cause it was not possible to spread the beds apart either.
7.5 Good
Pros: Central location, clean and cosy rooms.
Cons: The smell of mush
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The price. Among other options in Melnik, it was cheaper place. The owner is also running wine cellar, and offers a free visit tour in his cellar, but we are not so wine liking guys, so I cannot tell anything about the wine. Though he is very nice and answered alk our questions about what to see in the area. We gad rwo rooms in the guest house. The rooms are big enough and clean enough. The fridge is in the hall. There is also a washing machine in the hall, don't know if it's for guests use. Overall, OK place for two nights.
Cons: The doted place in the Google Maps is not where the guest rooms are. Needed to find the place, as it more up the street then doted. The owners are actually living in the same building, on the second floor, but it was inconvenient to reach them. Eventually when we ran out toilet paper, there was no choice, but to knock them. There is a kettle and a cups in the room. The tea bags were very limited, no sugar and no tea spoon. The shower and the toilet are in the same room, without a curtain, so after you taking a shower, all the room floor is wet and somehow unusable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host, big room, quietness, beautiful place
Cons: Everything was good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice accomodation, tasty food, good communication with housekeeper. English was possible :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was AMAZING! Simple (as in non-pompous), fresh, homemade dishes. There was a lot of good food during our 2 week vacation in Bulgaria, and this was easily one of the best. The terrace is also a wonderful place to chill at. Our boys had a good time petting and playing with their two kittens, Rocky and Tony. The staff was professional as well as warm.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place just outside Melnik. Clean and huge rooms with a beautiful little terrace to enjoy the evening. They waited up for us and kept the restaurant open so we could order food and drink when we arrived, which was quite late and nobody else was there. We loved the cats and all the homemade goodies that they do. Very close to the pyramids and monastery. Great value for money and lovely service. Best place yet on our Bulgarian adventure.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay, to relax, to enjoy tasty food and wine! We can only recommend.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing - delicious homemade bread, mekici and yogurt. It is a family-owned hotel and restaurant and the people were extremely pleasant and hospitable. Perfect location!
Cons: The bathroom door was not closing but that was the only downside.

Cons: Nothing on the negative site. And we are not easy to satisfied!
7.0 Good
Pros: I have already answer...
Cons: I have already answer...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is awesome. And really nice stuff.
Cons: The heating wihh air conditioner only.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The village is quaint, just beautiful, the location is great, right in the center, the guesthouse has balconies ( in Melnik not many have them) with splendid view over the village. The bathroom was simple but very clean. The staff is very kind. The restaurant offers very good and fresh food. The breakfast is a choice between some options, when you read them, it sounds quite disappointing but it was, in fact, real good. The omlette is big, served with tomatoes. The cold breakfast with cheese, egg, ham and vegetables is more than enough. Very good coffee.
Cons: The bed is really uncomfortable. New linen are needed, maybe they were clean but didn't seem clean. The walls are so thin that I've heard when the neighbours were whispering...couldn' t fall asleep until they went to sleep. The room is so big that lacks of intimacy, an entrance hall might be a solution. So the rooms need a little bit of improvement, not too much, the guesthouse has so much potential...
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is perfect. Great for a short stay. It has a nice balcony overlooking the square. The food was tasty. Pets friendly :)
Cons: Steep stairs to the second floor. Bathroom - door could not be closed (room 5), the light was not covered - just a bulb.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nothing to say particulary...
Cons: Welcome a little cold...The staff was not very smiling at the beginning. The lights of the bedroom were insufficient. I
7.5 Good
Pros: Central location, very pleasant staff, easy check-in, nice view from the balcony, big room.
Cons: No credit cards, only cash is accepted. When I asked butter for breakfast, I got margarine. Also, instead of honey we got some sugar/fructose syrup substitute. The bathroom doesn't have a separate shower so you get the whole bathroom wet while showering.
7.0 Good
Pros: Large rooms, very wide and comfortable double beds, top location, nice price, good breakfast.
Cons: The pretty high staircase, made of metal, is not OK - the steps are inclined a bit downwards. Not good for large suitcases or people who are not really well fit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location -- Melnik and environs easily accessible. Excellent food, helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location Really helpful owner who helped me with my onward journey plans Massive room with huge double bed (really super king sized bed) , balcony and sofa Good food in the restaurant Excellent value for money nice terrace for food and breakfast
Cons: Nothing - it was all fine . Limited space (eg a shelf) to put things in the bathroom but that was not really an issue I didn’t realise how remote Melnik is- you really need a car (and to call ahead) if you are independently visiting the major wine producers nearby - although there are local producers in town. Getting a taxi from melnik to places a short distance nearby is a problem. I will be coming back with a car next year!

Pros: We liked that the room was spacious and bright, as well as the bed and pillows were comfortable. Also, the room is nicely designed - the walls are beautiful as well as the bed sheets. The bathroom is spacious, the bathroom elements are new and function. It was nice that breakfast was served on the terrace. Fibers (prženice in Serbian language) were good as well as home-made coffee, which was included in the breakfast cost
Cons: Although at the reception gave us 2 passwords for Wi-Fi we could not connect to the Internet
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place, wonderful hosts!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Stuff and room were very correct
Cons: Room was cold and without heating provided.
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice balcony and surroundings in general, birds singing all night. Nice bulgarian rose mini soap.
Cons: Breakfast was a total disaster, absolutely no choice of dishes, a plate is being served ready without asking about preferences: 2 slices of bread fried as french toast but not even warm, 2 slices of cucumber, 2 slices of cheese and 1 big disgusting slice of ham, even for vegetarian. Neither spicy nor tasty, just terrible. And breakfast hours very limited. Bathroom: no shower cabin or anything to protect the whole bathroom from being flooded, just a hole in the floor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice Bulgarian Revival house. Air condition is assured by a reasonable construction. A problem for just but English speakers might be, that the staff, very kind people, speaks only Bulgarian. But is very patient, if you use a digital translation assistant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds

8.0 Excellent
Pros: My room had a beautiful balcony. The garden is very pretty. It was clean.
Cons: Lots of steps to climb. It’s a little hard to find (go to practically the end of the village), breakfast was very average, they do not take credit or debit cards, no English spoken.

7.5 Good
Pros: The property was in a good location, room was spacious close by to plenty of restaurants. Hotel also had a restaurant and the food was good. Breakfast was quite limited with not much variety.
Cons: To be honest room was a bit dated and in need of a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom had no shower cubicle just a shower head on the wall. so everything got wet, but to be fair this was the same in most places we stayed in Bulgaria. Room was not cleaned while we were there, just a toilet roll left on the table not even placed in bathroom. A kettle was supplied along with two cups but no tea or coffee was provided.

Cons: .
7.5 Good
Pros: The heating inside the room and the location
Cons: The room was very small and the door was always cracking and making some noises. If there wasn't a door lock I am pretty sure everytime someone enters the corridor the door would open
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There can be no bad location in Melnik - the city has just one street. Your hotel weel be closer either to the nus stop or to the wine museum. This one was close to the bus stop.
Cons: It couldn't be better really.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: At arrival the hotel did not know that we would be coming. We had to stay in the complex away from the pool.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: We have reserved 3 double room but we received 2 double room and 1 twin room. We asked a discount for this problem. A man like a boss agreed a discount 3E for wrong-twin room. Early this morning, when we like to made payment, a man do not deduct 3E. He said that nobody to inform him this information. He should ask his boss but he did not like and said that his boss is sleeping now. We could speak a little Bugarian language so we speak English but he said “ No English, only Bulgarian “. He weight plum and apricot in one time even they are different prices. I found that and forced him to weight them seperate. Finally, we pay all payment 120lv for 2 double room and 1 twin room without an explanation or a sorry !!! 3E is not big but we were angry with this rude man !!!

Hotel Bolyarka - Melnik - Building
20
7.4 Good (240 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant staff.
Cons: Some facilities like the sauna didn't work.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel is the location - it's just perfect to take walks around the city still it's away from the main road and most of the crowds. Just next to the hotel is St. Antonius church, so you can start sightseeing from there. Staff was responsive to guests requests, though some of them I would not describe as friendly or welcoming.
Cons: Everything about the hotel was disappointing (to say the least): - room wasn't properly clean for ages (spider web and tons of dust everywhere) - the room is certainly not 20 sq.m. as noted - it is really small and cramped - the breakfast is below expectations for 3 star hotel, though there is certainly enough as qty - maintenance of the facilities is terrible - one of the electricity sockets in the rooms was clearly dangerous (wires were visible and not secured), phone & fridge were not working, the TV had issues, but worst of all was the joinery - there is a lot of noise in the room coming from the tavern below, as well as from all neighboring rooms Should you have a choice, do yourself a favor and pick another hotel for your stay in Melnik
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was good and central. On the outside the place looked quite charming and had its own restaurant with traditional Bulgarian and Turkish food
Cons: Cleanliness was lacking. There was hair and insects everywhere. The duvets and covers were old, torn, and unwashed. At night there was a lot of noise, guests were playing loud music and yelling at 4 AM.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The room was dirty and very small for 3 people. Bathroom was so small that you need to shower on the toilet.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Breakfast is just bread with salami plus sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. Coffee is awful. If you want normal coffee - you need to pay. The balcony is just for one person to stand there.
7.5 Good
Pros: Our apartment was very spacious and comfortable.
Cons: We were not asked what we wanted to eat for breakfast. It was just put in front of us and was exactly the same 3 days running.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Cleaness
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very kind personals, great and amazing nature food. Melnik is a beautifull place, buildings and rocks.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room in a quiet part of the city. Helpful staff for questions, but very limited if you don’t speak Bulgarian or Russian. Good walks nearby
Cons: Struggled up to the room along rough path and steep stairs without any help with luggage. Basic breakfast with no choice, so felt we were wasting food we didn’t want to eat.
