9.2 Excellent
Pros: Debbie is absolutely lovely and the perfect hostess. Breakfasts were delicious and also a nice opportunity to chat to the other guests.
Cons: The bed was a little bit too soft for us, but then we're tricky, as we both suffer with chronic pain. It would also have been good to have a fan in the room, as it was very hot weather.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness, breakfast, facilities and location ... perfect
Cons: -------------- n/a
7.9 Good
Pros: I liked the furniture in the room and bathrooms
Cons: There was nothing I did not like. I enjoyed my stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was my third stay at Ivy Hall. I keep returning because of the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, the excellent breakfasts, the convenient off road parking and the close proximity to Fishbourne ferry terminus.
Cons: I did not like having to leave and return home, I would have liked to have stayed for longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Debbie was an amazing host. The shower in the room was one of the best ones I ever experienced. The view from the breakfast room is incredible.
Cons: The skylight in the room made it too bright at times. (but this is my personal preference, I like it dark, the abundance of light might be a bonus for someone else!)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great - food was nice and hot- there was plenty to choose from. The location was great for us and there was a very nice "Inn" just outside that was very convenient. Our hostess - Debbie - made us feel at home. The room was a nice size and very comfortable and a lovely bathroom. Had a lovely lake view. Loved it!!
Cons: It was perfect!!!

Pros: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean and well managed and welcoming.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is among the best. Located in a quiet area of Ryde on the Isle of Wight it is within easy reach of the town centre and the seaside. Our host, Helen, could not have done more to make our stay a very relaxing one. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well presented, and the breakfast choice was outstanding - particularly the 'overnight oats' which come highly recommended. The landlady herself is a widely travelled individual, and was a very congenial host.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike about this stay.

6.3 Good
Pros: Room and bathroom very clean.
Cons: There was no cooked breakfast available - I wasn't aware that b and b's that didn't cook breakfast actually existed. The only cooked food they do is toast and you have to toast that yourself. If I'd have known there was no cooked breakfast, I wouldn't have booked this property.

Great communications from booking to checking in.

Pros: The Breakfast choice was excellent, and of course the location ,which was stunning. The staff were also very helpful and polite.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike, but we would probably eat out at other places of an evening, as the variety of food was a little limited, and the service a bit patchy.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was a standard buffet type, which I'm not a great fan of. The hotel grounds around the lake were lovely and very peaceful. Evening meal at the Hotel was OK, but a short taxi ride to Ryde (£10) there was an excellent Italian Restaurant (Michelangelo's)
Cons: It was an expensive stay and the drinks at the bar were also over the top
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from bedroom. The breakfast was good. And the room was very nice.
Cons: Fire alarm went off at 5 am, not happy as wanted a lie in. Didnt know what was going on, very poor comunication from staff, evetually found out it was "faulty". Spa was good but sometimes it got a bit loud, the spa supposed to be relaxing but people didnt seem to understand and kept talking loudly. Maybe some soft music in the spa would fix that.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view of the lake was good.
Cons: Breakfast was ok. I ordered specific dietary requirements and this had to be repeated at breakfast. The options available were not discussed and I had to repeat the requirement. The dinner menu was not sufficient for my dietary requirements. We were given a room that was already occupied. -Very bad service. Spa was nice but could have been cleaner.

Pros: Location, facilities, quality of food, spa
Cons: Beds uncomfortable, spa closed too early

Pros: The food was very good especially the choices for the included breakfast . The bed was extremely comfortable. The inn was in a perfect location for peace and quiet but not too far away for exploring other areas.
Cons: The bedroom we were allocated was tiny and a little cramped but full of character, fine for a few nights but a longer stay it might have bothered us more.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was superb, both picturesque and convenient for the ferry (just around the corner). The staff were fantastic and the food delicious... bang on for what they charge I would say
Cons: The stairway and halls were in need of a revamp and decorate... peeling paint, scruffy doors and an old tv in a box by the residents entrance... not a nice welcome

5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was only average perhaps a little too soft but the bathroom was minute.
Cons: Bathroom
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The beach was a short walk down the road
Cons: We booked a sea room and was given a room across the rd from the hotel. It was a live a bookies and the floor vibrated. We asked to move rooms. The room we was moved to did have a sea view if you looked over all the buildings. The room was dirty. There was stains over the curtains. Marks over the walls. The bathroom was worse. Stains on the shower curtain and mould around the sink. The bathroom light takes a while to come on and then the very loud fan comes on and stays on for over 3 min when you have turned the light off. Which is annoying in the middle of the night. I did complain and was told a deep clean would be done but that would mean we had to leave the room for 3 hours. We was offered a new room but my daughter is autistic and the one room move was enough for her. After complaining for 10 min with photos to show I got half my money back and the bathroom was cleaned while we was out. The receptionist tried everything she could not to refund money and was very stern. However it was not up to scratch
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly, the location just perfect for visiting the local area. Parking easy and nice and close. Food was great too with plenty to choose from on the menu.
Cons: There was nothing we didnt like, breakfast was great. Maybe a little money could be spent on decoration but that could be said about a lot of hotels.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast and restaurant meals. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Accommodation tired and worn - needs updating / refurbishment. Friday night and Saturday night disturbances until early hours in the morning due to noise from nearby entertainment premises.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Yelfs is very well located close to transport links including the Ferry. I have stayed here a few times, but this was the first time for ages, and for the price I paid, I thought it was very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in recommening this hotel

1.0 Poor
Pros: Convenience to centre + transport links
Cons: Our short 2 night stay didnt hughlight any negatives
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast when we eventually got it.
Cons: Very worn decor, dust in room, men’s downstairs toilets appalling. We were not advised when booking that there was no car park.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No lift, breakfast was slow served and when cooked breakfast arrived it was horrible.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: When it arrived it was OK but it was 35 mins from ordering on the first morning and the toast didn't arrive at all, the 2nd morning was better and breakfast arrived within about 10 mins.
Cons: We arrived Sat. evening about 8.30. The first thing we had was an apology from the night manager because the lift was out of order. I had ordered a premier room unfortunately it was on the very top floor room 72 this was a climb of 68 stairs and my partner has a heart condition but the manager assured us that we would be moved the next morning to a more suitable room. Room 72 however was not "fit for purpose", the bathroom was not easily usable due to a sloping ceiling. I am 6' and could not even stand under the shower, my partner who is 4'10 also couldn't stand under the shower due to the slope in the ceiling. We had a good view of the sea but, the windows were very dirty and the sash cords broken so they could not be opened. The state of the carpet was pretty bad, dirty stains in several places. We were moved the next morning, as promised, to room 33, again this was up a lot of stairs (28) and the lift was still out of order. Again the windows were very dirty and one of the sash cord broken, so they were not able to be opened. On arrival we asked the manager what the parking restrictions were with a blue badge, we were told we had to pay in the carpark for overnight parking. The next morning when w.e could read the parking machine we found this was not so. We left on Monday morning and the lift was still out of order. There were several elderly people with mobility problems and they were struggling to cope with the stairs. This is a beautiful building and desperately in need of some TLC it's a shame to see it so neglected. However the staff were good, particularly the night manager who was very apologetic for the circumstances.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Friendly staff. Nice testaurant
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Had a pool table.
Cons: When booking a room for the evening there is hope that it will be possible to get some sleep. Unfortunately this is not the case at this “hotel”. First there was a continual dripping noise that came from a storage room. Secondly, you can hear every step that is taken from the floors above so you are left hoping that other visitors are hoping to sleep. This was not the case during our stay, other visitors were coming in up to 4.30 am banging and crashing. You can then hear their showers and toilets flushing! Thirdly banging doors! We were by a fire door so had the pleasure of hearing it banging all the live long night. Every time someone came in, went out and even when the night porter was having a look around he would band the door! Every time we thought we were drifting off there was another bang! When awaking after our 90 minutes of sleep with a long day ahead we waited 45 minutes for breakfast which was cold including the coffee! We left as we had somewhere to be and got a take out on the way. When speaking to staff and I asked for a refund as I did not believe they had provided the basic service of a hotel I was told I could have £20! However, I am not surprised as when having a game of pool the evening before staff were describing the different drugs they liked taking simultaneously. There were children in the room as this was described as a family hotel! I will be returning to my usual visits to the premier inn for short stays, at least they are reliable and there is an opportunity to sleep! Avoid this place!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was average if you could get a clean table. Under staffed and had to wait for a table to be cleaned most days then we were forgotten about.
Cons: Cooked breakfast luke warm not hot. Dirty dishes not cleared from previous people sitting at the same table. Had to ask for orange juice as they had run out. No pastries at all when it was stated on the breakfast menu, assumed they had run out. Not hot water in the room for 3 days had to ask every day till they finally got it sorted. The lift didn't work at all in the 5 days we stayed there and no sign of any work to fix it. Very dated rooms and in need of upgrading and modernising. Cobwebs on the inside of the window.
7.0 Good
Pros: Easy to park. Great location. Upgraded from a single room - many thanks!
Cons: Noise early in the morning (6.00am) - inconsiderate fellow guests!
6.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok although a little 'chaotic'. the lady who serve us was very friendly
Cons: Lift was out of order. There seemed to be not enough staff to cope with demand for service at breakfast time.
7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was good, the staff when asked if there was any fruit left told my parents to get it themselves in another part of the restaurant
Cons: very small room & shower. staff were spraying and cleaning breakfast tables whilst guests were still eating

5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to amenities Freindly staff
Cons: Bed was terrible thread worn mattress with a old blanket put on top
5.4 Okay
Pros: It was quite centrally located
Cons: Breakfast was not included despite the fact I found the lodge in response to bed/breakfast search. My first night was disturbed by traffic noise/ noise from other guests and finally went to sleep about 1.30am. I thought it was very expensive for a bed in a not very pleasant room and the gravel car park was very noisy.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location was fine. Served a nice pint.
Cons: The room was a bit small. Had a job to get around the bed.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was okay, as was the bedding.
Cons: This is not a 'Hotel'. It is a 'ropy' old pub, that has seemingly not seen an update since the 1930s.! (The advert should be more specific). We had to endure droning base and drum beat noises until 2 a.m. Sunday morning, and Midnight on other nights. The window was south facing, no ventilation to speak of. It was boiling hot and no way could we cool it down for the night. Cigarette smoke also filtered through to our room from other residents. Also, extremely sparse with regard to furnishing - not even a hook on the wall to hang your coat on. Kettle with coffee, tea, sugar and milk was there, but no cups to drink from. I know you get what you pay for, and although basic is fine, inadequate is not. And this was inadequate.
4.6 Okay
Cons: general state of the building, noise from people outside, window propped open with piece of wood. NOISE/MUSIC from bar until very late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfy
Cons: Nothing all good
4.6 Okay
Pros: Cheap accommodation. Basic but ok.
Cons: Room does not have iron (as stated) or hairdryer (not stated, but would be appreciated). Window would not close. Very noisy/rough. We could hear fighting in the street after being verbally abused but a random at a nearby takeaway.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, near to shops, pubs, bus station and train station. Everything was within walking distance. Sure there was noise at night but that's what I expected , its in an area with bars and pubs. Sure they don't serve breakfast but a wetherspoon's is very near!! WiFi always available, never had a problem with it. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. Excellent stay for a pub/hotel
Cons: Only thing that I thought was annoying was the soft bed, possibly because I'm used to a harder bed.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: there was no breakfast but I new that I was there six nights the people there did not change my bed I had to go and ask for more milk to make my coffee
Cons: as above plus there was a disco wen t had finished there were people outside making a hell of a noise that went on for about an hour that was 12 o clock
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was good for the shops.
Cons: Two tins of paint to hold the bed up, TV didn't work, very small room no coat hangers, window kept dropping down shower two small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, large room very clean and relaxed friendly pub, so close to bus and train and ferry terminal, and close to weatherspoons for good breakfast and quite a few lovely restaurants close by, had a room at the back of hotel and very quiet at night, very good shower and cosy comfy bed, great value for the very cheap price would stay again thank you
Cons: No complaints
