Service, Freindly atmosphere, Food, Cleaniness. In fact we liked everything!
Location, staff freindlyness and food that was tasty and value for money. We were above the bar which had live music that went on till 2am. No double glassing so any noise in the street was heard in the bedroom.
Both my wife and I were very impressed with the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough for you, they were, without exception, always friendly and ready to help. The room was superb and the whole hotel had an extremely comfortable atmosphere. Yelf's is a perfect example of how a hotel should be, where you are treated as people and not commodities
I liked the location, very central, and I also liked the quiet situation of my room with even a partial sea view. There was no shower in the bath, so I couldn't wash my hair. The TV didn't work, neither did the socket next to the kettle, which meant I had to put the kettle on the carpet.
A good down to earth hotel None
Clean , friendly staff ,good breakfast Next door to noisy bar
The location is really good - handy for the ferry and not too far from the beach. My room looked out over the pier, which was really fantastic. I would definitely stay at the hotel again because of its location and price. There were two downsides for me. The shower head was too low to stand under and the matress wasn't very comfortable in one place, as it had a lump in it. However, as I only had a short stay in the hotel, this was not a big deal.
The great service n friendly staff
staff very good meals great car park hard to find it would be better if you pointed out union road was a narrow lane with a shop on the corner of the lnane
Nice room.car park good breakfast helpful reception Internet in public area only & poor Towels in room bleach in black spots & blood on one towel
Arelaxing annual experience with our grown up children for Xmas shoppinh on the I o W. excellent location There were several little things - 2 cyups and 1 saucer on tea tray for 2 days, 1 bath towel, broken door lock, evening meals average only etc etc. also residents could not get any spa treatment bookings.
Friendliness of staff. Quality of food. Quiet. v good bathroom and spa. Awful sound system in Brasserie. Over-reliance on one cd. Rather bland/dark decor throughout hotel.
I enjoyed very much the spa and also the restaurant, room was good
Room was actually very pleasant. Fast and free wifi which was a bonus. Staff not very friendly, and were inconsistent in their approach to people. No explanation of where things were. No mini bar in room (apparently a suite but not convinced as the other 'suites' had names on and mine didn't) which was strange, but meant I had to order from Room Service meaning that a coke would've cost over £5! Room was stifling hot on arrival with no opening windows. Breakfast wasn't what I ordered. Very overpriced for what it was.
The restaurant staff. Nothing was too much for them There was no dress code in the restaurant. It would be nice if gentlemen avoided jeans at dinner
The treatments that we had were excellant along with the leisure facilities. The size and layout of room 17 was very good. the breakfast was very nice. Not so much did not like, rather needs attention: the cleanliness of our room. We moved the coffee table to find that it had clearly not been moved for some time, therefore only hoovered around it, underneath it was filthy! Food crumbs! The skirting boards and furniture edges were rather dusty. Not great for a 4* hotel.
Excellent room and friendly staff. Restaurant was very good although very quiet when I stayed. The pool and spa were both closed.
The whole experience was brilliant
Lovely location, friendly staff, good decor, very nice breakfast buffet. Excellent parking facilities starters were delicious and one of our main course was also delicous. Restaurant staff seemed very new and Insufficiently trained and always seemed very nervous. Food not cooked to my request, steak ordered medium rare, got medium is was over cooked. The menu had an excellent write up of the beef but it was very poor and did not live up to my expectations. Also we were not given dessert menus after 15 mins of waiting so we left. I feel that the chef on hearing my complaint would have offered an apology or sent an apology at least.
Very nice staff. Rooms are well equipped and everything works. Excellent restaurant.
There was plenty of room as I had single occupancy of a twin room The decor in the public areas was worn and faded.
Clean Hotel, room warm, plenty of choice for breakfast, friendly helpfull staff every thing to our liking
convenient to Town of Ryde Very basic - public areas very dated
Breakfast and service was nice
Hotel room was very clean and staff were very friendly and informative. Cofee making kettel was very old and rusty. I think, it's right time for the hotel manaagement to get new kettels.
Good location All the listed amenities were present Worn-out furniture and decoration
We were given the garden room and it was very good for us - lounge, bedroom, bathroom No
Cleanliness, Homely, Excellent Breakfast, Convenient for Ferry and Hovercraft access - only a short walk. Room on the small side but adequate nevertheless.
Having a car park The room was cramped and had no central heating - it took most of the evening to warm the room sufficiently with the aid of the portable heater
It was very handy to the hovercraft and main street. The breakfast was quite basic English cooking/produce. The decor of the hotel was in need of a revamp.
Staff very kind. Room clean. Position Great.
The brekfast was excellent and the location great Rooms were dated not particularly clean, dusty window cills and the like, net curtain in bathroom dirty, stains on carpet, shower head came off in my hand, need complete overhaul and redecoration
Good value for money and very convenient location for a flying visit
Warm and friendly. Breakfast was certainly worth a weight of gold. Italian family run hotel was excellent. Question when quilt cover was washed.
Friendly staff, cleanliness, effort made to give me a gluten free breakfast. Location Shower a little slow and week, and not very warm
Good location, excellent breakfast, friendly people None
close to all amenities - views overlooking the sea All the twin rooms were up three flights of stairs. Would have been useful to know this in advance.
location near ferry, railway and bus stations. excellent breakfast and friendly owners. room was basic decor but spotlessly clean
Friendly welcome, good food .This B&B is very convenient for people using the island's excellent public transport-only acouple of minutes walk from train and bus stations.Wireless internet worked well. Our room was rather in need of redecoration.
It was the only hotel available for the night we needed to be in the area. The breakfast was served promptly. The bedding was bobbled and ancient, the room smelled damp, the staff seemed distracted and we had to phone on our arrival, luckily one of us had credit! Breakfast tinned, including mushrooms, weird.
The staff were very friendly and willing to help with directions etc. Thought that it was a bit pricey for what you get - The towels given were frayed at the edges and had some small stains on them.
Good location within walking distance from the hovercraft terminal and close to main restaurants in town. rooms were basic but comfortable.
Situation was ideal for a short stay. The staff were all very friendly and not intrusive.Definately one to recommend. Would have had more privacy at night with non-see thru blinds.
The rooms were clean, hotel staff friendly and the breakfast was lovely!
Friendly owner and staff, great breakfast to wake up to, small but warm and cosy rooms, comfortable bed to snug into!
very kind and helpfull staff the room was very small
Breakfast - full English - was excellent Water pressure was too low to obtain a proper shower. Heating was a bit under expectations. Size of double room was a bit tight. Floorboards were noisier than the leaking downipe in the heavy rain
Very friendly welcome. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well cooked. Parking on the road outside on meters meant having to get up and feed the meter by 8am each morning.
The hotel is clean and smell nice. The breakfast is delicious and in a good size. The bathroom is too small. But, the owner said that they will expand it soon.
Good location, good cleanliness, room facilities. No
The owner was very friendly and approachable! Breakfast was good and the room was warm and cosy! Rooms were a bit small.
Quiet + well furnished and clean room. Shower was not working properly.
Friendly, personal service; breakfast hot and good quality ingredients eg proper bacon. excellent location
Everyone was very friendly, the room and shower room was warm and clean. Just can't say enough good about them!! Only one......If I were pushed to find a fault, It would be the rubbish in the back garden, but that's a mute point as we were not there in the day time.
The room, the staff and the menu No Parking
I needed to cut short my stay to only 1 night at short notice, Reception very helpfull and understanding, no question of me paying for the cancelled night even at short notice....Very Impressed and will return
In all honesty could not wait to leave Bed covers covered in stains and blood, carpet dirty with sticky substance on it
Comfortable clean room . Being on the top floor away from bar, kitchen noise etc. The breakfast table did not appear to be totally clean. also the room was noisy with excessive sound from chairs being moved.
made to feel welcome staff very helpful no on site parking
Location excellent - right next to the Red Jet (fast ferry), buses, taxis and in the middle of Cowes main street. Bed very comfortable. Bedroom very quite despite being over a pub with a live band performing The toilet needed some lime descaler or similar (the rest of the bathroom was very clean)
Staff- helpful and friendly Lots of stairs - no lift
The staff were extremely accommodating with every request. We had 7 bikes and after completing a charity ride, they allowed us to use a spare room to shower before heading back to London. A fantastic place to stay, with great food, buzz and ever so helpful. I would stay there again if I travelled to the IOW. N?A
The service and attitude offerered by staff was very professional and friendly. Good atmosphere. Good food - cooked breakfast simple but delicious, best cod and chips I've had for many years in the evening. Few 'end of season' rough edges in room should have been attended to - window sash cord broken, toilet roll holder broken etc. but all minor and didn't spoil stay.
breakfast was great !! the quality of room low ceilings and space not good
