Pros: A very warm welcome and lots of local information from Jerome. A very practical motel-style bedroom with the car parked just outside. A generous continental breakfast. This little hotel was in a Zone Commerciale just outside St Flour, very handy access from the A75 Méridienne motorway. Although next to Bricomarche and opposite McDonalds, there were views over the rolling Cantal countryside. A surprisingly good stop-over on our way homewards to the UK.

Pros: Although basic, the room was clean. Parking immediately outside was convenient.
Cons: This is the first time we have ever given a poor review. Just been evicted from the breakfast room! Serves until 09.30. Arrived about 09.00. Took all we needed well before 09.30 but were just finishing off at 09.45 (we're both disabled and a bit slow) and were told to leave. The man in charge started stacking chairs around us, gesticulating and scowling. Appalling! No tea, coffee or tissues.

Hotel l'Ander - Saint-Flour (Cantal) - Bedroom
1
7.5 Good (148 reviews)
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The surly and rude manageress, especially in the dining room. Our menus were basically chucked on the table when other guests were handed theirs with a smile. When we chose our diner she insisted we chose a sweet at the same time. So we decided to go without. We wanted to pay for the meal when we finished, that didn’t go down too well either. The water in the room was barely lukewarm too cold for a shower, the toilet seat was loose and the sliding door wasn’t hung correctly. We decided not to have breakfast so we could check out sooner, we paid the correct amount 79.80 euros twice as much for what we had to endure. We thought the Ibis in Le Mans was poor but The ANDERS IN SAINT FLOUR WAS APPALLING.....AVOID AT ALL COSTS, especially the dragon of a manageress who could do with some urgent training in humility and manners
6.7 Good
Pros: We did not have breakfast, however the rooms were very clean and the hotel easy to find with plenty of parking.
Cons: Most of the staff were quite nice and helpful except the lady owner who shortly after our arrival was quite sharp and rude when we requested a little assistance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is by far the best hotel we have stayed in while visiting France, the room was spotless, modern and the bed was really comfortable
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Cons: On arrival, very curt welcome from gentleman serving behind the bar. However, overcome with welcome at dinner from lady of the hotel. .

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fabienne was very attentive to our needs and was ready to help in anyway. Accommodation is beautiful, comfy large bed and very quiet. She has beautiful picture books in a large lounge where you can sit to relax or watch as we French Open Tennis on a large TV.
Cons: St Flour didn’t impress us hugely But it was a convenient stop for us
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house conveys a typical French charm. The owner has very nicely renovated the house and the old style with today's time very well connected.
Cons: Parking near the house is difficult due to narrow streets and lack of private parking place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good quiet location, very friendly proprietor. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: I would prefer closer parking, though it was free and not too far.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail in all aspects of La Maison d'Adelaide was excellent especially the welcome and hospitality. The property is tastefully decorated and charming. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast showcased local produce and home-made jam which was all delicious. Fabienne was most helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend this property.
Cons: It was all very good. There was nothing we didn't like.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice old building. Private atmosphere. Excellent location. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Bed sheet were clean but the bed cover and the pillows had an unpleasant smell (probably not thoroughly washed). There was also a stale smell in the house.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a B&B of four rooms located on the 3rd and 4th floor of a mid-19th century building, with authentic fittings and furniture in the dining room and 3rd floor rooms, and modern 4th floor rooms. A word of caution: no elevator and steep stairs; not for persons with limited mobility. A nice place for an in-style stopover in a long travel, or as a base to explore the region. The host is nice and sincerely willing to do as much as possible to please guests. The breakfast consists of local organic cheese, yaghourt, bread, croissants, marmelade and orange juice, i.e. the choice is limited (ask in advance if you have special wishes). We adored our top floor room with a view of tile roofs and hills around, nice modern bathroom, very quiet at night.
Cons: No night tables in our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Old world medieval town. You must make your way into the old centre (Place D'Armes) and park there(free)because it is the nearest to this old 170 year property. But there are other options with a little bit more walking. The landlady is really helpful and will allow you to enter the property before the designated 6 PM if you contact her in advance..The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is delightful. You have many restaurants within 100 metres all capable of providing the most delicious food at very reasonable prices..Distinctively different from your run of the mill stopovers and you must visit the old museum (4 euro) to fully absorb the grand flavour of the place...
Cons: Perfect....it's what it says on the tin
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Great location , easy to find perfect for a few nights stay with friends .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beds were clean and comfortable, the kids loved the upstairs bedroom, the area was lovely, conveniently situated for our journey to Spain. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Gave us extra towels and cups. We left before breakfast but the breakfast smelled amazing!!! The value was very good for our family room. Would stay again, and try to leave later so we can sample the delicious smelling breakfast!
Cons: The whole shower room got soaked when using the shower as there was no curtain. A small fridge would have been helpful as I had medication to store and we were leaving early in the morning before the staff would have been available to give it back to me if they had stored it.

Pros: Good breakfast and great staff.
Cons: We booked because the description said the hotel had aircon. The temperature was 38 degrees when we arrived but there was no aircon. The front of the hotel is very noisy with the window open and so we exchanged rooms for one at the rear which was a little better.
