Lock yourself up at the Inn at the Old Jail for a unique vacation getaway. Originally built as a New Orleans police jail and patrol station in 1902, the striking Queen Anne-style Inn combines historic preservation with modern amenities. Wanting to pay homage to the NOPD, the innkeepers restored the rooms and public spaces to salute the city’s brave men and women in blue. Its nine bedrooms are rich with architectural details and antiques, including original police memorabilia. Even the Inn’s Yvonne Bechet Library is named after the highest-ranking female officer in NOPD history, who served at the Old Jail stationhouse for 22 years. If you’re curious about history, it’s the perfect place for you, but don’t forget to also enjoy the wonderful city of New Orleans. Stop by the Uptown New Orleans Historic District, drink your way through Bourbon Street or visit the infamous French Quarter.
Pros: Beautiful rooms in the old plantationhouse. Perfect local family style breakfast. Excellent Tour around the house after breakfast.

Pros: clean rooms, very nice breakfast, very nice staff
Cons: St Francisville is not a quaint little town.
Pros: We had fun in the pool, worked out in the gym and enjoyed the breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to drink but coffee in the breakfast area My husband and I aren't coffee drinkers so we always drink juice and the juice machine was out of order so therefore we think the Hotel should have provided bought juice from Walmart!
Pros: Clean room Great breakfast Nice staff
Pros: The location was perfect for our trip.
Cons: The breakfast was terrible and the shower leaked.
Cons: it was an OK hotel. no problems. shower only, though, wife wanted tub.
Cons: No sidewalks or pedestrian crosswalk across the highway to access restaurants or businesses.
Pros: nice rooms, great restaurant across street, comfy beds
Pros: Location, price, cleanliness, friendly staff, highly recommend.
Cons: No, definitely going back.

Pros: julie and hal were great. informative and just a delight to talk to. The place was enchanting and beautiful.. atmosphere, seclusion, wildlife and a beautiful room.
Pros: A wonderful place to stay. Lovely room with verandas at the front and rear, excellent breakfast and fabulous grounds to walk around. We had a fantastic view from our room, over a lake to the plantation house. An atmospheric place to stay, particularly when the Last Post is played as the flag is lowered at 6pm. Greenwood Plantation is a few miles outside St Francisville, but it was worth the drive in to look at the lovely houses there. Highly recommended
Cons: The gnats! Apparently only appear for a couple of weeks a year so we were a bit unlucky. Other than that, nothing.
Pros: Hal and Julie were extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds, with the live oaks and pond, were very nice.
Pros: Breakfast was fine. But staff was nice a friendly.
Cons: Only served pork for meat at breakfast.
Pros: Cute set of rooms across pond from main building of Greenwood plantation. The upper rooms face the plantation building and pond. Remote, private location about 10 miles from St. Francisville. Full country breakfast.
Pros: I loved how secluded the property is. It was just far enough away from town to feel like a real getaway. The property is absolutely breathtaking.
Pros: This place was a dream. You have to have a car to get here, no questions, but it was secluded and so peaceful. This was our favorite hotel we had stayed at. To be clear the B&B is NOT in the plantation, but next to it. Breakfast was your choice of waffels eggs and some meat. At 6pm they play the national anthem. The hosts are also the owners of the plantation and are as nice as they get. Would absolutely recommend.
Cons: Honestly nothing. Was a bit removed from the city.
Pros: Room and breakfast were good, Jose was disappointing
Pros: Great location off the beaten path, spacious room.
Cons: No fridge - mini fridge would be great, since nearest restaurant about 16km. Very uncomfortable bed, old matress that sagged in the middle, pillows too soft and uncomfortable. For the price, one would at least expect the bed to be comfortable.

Cons: After arriving we unpacked out things, took a shower, pulled the bedding back to get in bed to find stained sheets, hair and dirt on the sheets. The sheets apparantly were not changed from the guests before us. So we had to pack all our things back up and move to a "clean" room. Not only were the sheets dirty, there was also clumps of mud on the carpet that obviously not vaccumed. Im very unhappy that we paid for this kind of service.
Pros: Clean and friendly staff
Pros: Clean rooms and breakfast choices was great!
Pros: The lady that monitors the breakfast buffet was outstanding. Friendly, helpful always offering to assist.
Cons: I searched for a room in Livonia LA and this is all that showed op on booking. I thought it would be directly at 190. NO! It was 28 miles off the highway in some backwater town. THERE WAS ANOTHER BEST WESTERN AT THE EXIT FROM 190!!! nothing else was offered and I booked before I realized what a huge detour/. Time waste this would be. I will not use booking again because of this. I expect choices AT the area I request - not 30 miles away when I don’t know the area.
Pros: Awesome timer
Pros: Look of the hotel is very nice.
Cons: Bending had spot. Bathroom tub was not as clean as it should have been on the outside of the tube.
Pros: Check in and out were very efficient.
Cons: Air conditioner did not get cold enough. Seemed to be locked at 70 degrees.
Pros: The breakfast was fine, the waffle iron was slow once it got to working. I would recommend a little more variety. The location of the hotel is good, nice to have Walmart and Dollar Tree right across the street.
Cons: The loud walking people in the room above me. I wanted to pay cash upon check out and I informed the lady of this when I checked in, but my credit card was still charged.
Pros: Cleanliness of the room and breakfast

Pros: The room was clean but the pool was green and had bugs in it! The next morning the cleaning lady was in our room when we came back from breakfast. I didn’t like that!!
Cons: Bed uncomfortable. Carpet seemed wet. Musty odor. Bed uncomfortable. Place did not seem clean. Dirt all over ac unit.
Pros: Front desk employees were all very kind and polite during my entire stay.
Cons: My first of four nights at this hotel was awful. I hit my shin on a bedrail that stuck out past the mattress and boxspring and it broke the skin. The bed near the door had dead bugs on it and the sheets on both beds were very dingy. If I had not been so tired and already unpacked my car, I would have asked for another room. The next morning I emailed the manager about my room conditions and when she finally responded, I was told that there would have to be an investigation done before I could have my next two nights refunded to me so I could find another hotel. I finally told her that if she can personally assure me that I will have a clean, fresh and safe room where the bed will not tear my legs up and there are no silverfish in the bathtub that I would stay my remaining nights there. I was there strictly for work, so all I needed was a clean bed with fresh sheets on it and a clean bathroom with clean and fresh towels, no bugs as roommates and no silverfish in the bathtub. The manager told me about how bad the South Louisiana bugs are but she was preaching to the choir, as I came from far further south than St. Francisville. She also asked me if perhaps the bugs that were on the bed had flown in while I was unpacking my car, and I told her it was possible, but why did they die so fast?? The manager promised me that she would make sure that I had a clean room and that the bed mattress and box springs were set on the frame correctly - she told me that from the pictures I sent her of all of these things that it looked like the housekeeper failed to put the mattress and box springs on both beds back in place when she cleaned. I can guarantee that the room had not been cleaned because of the crumbs on the floor around the bed when I lifted the bedskirt to see what I had hit my shin on. The manager did keep her word and made the situation right by me and I ended up staying one more night.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. It offered an extensive breakfast and a southern dinner M-Th included in the price. Good food. Had requested a handicap room and it including seat in the tub/shower. Would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Staff members were wonderful.
Cons: First room was horrible - bed frame stuck out from under the mattress set and I hit my shin on it. Dead bugs on bed near the door. Crumbs on the floor when I lifted the bedskirt to see what I had hit my leg on. Dingy sheets. When I complained via email to the manager, she made it right by me and gave me another room closer to the office (where a female traveling alone should be to begin with) and she made sure the sheets were clean as well as the towels and the entire room.
Pros: The beds were very comfy.
Cons: Have some bacon with breakfast.
Pros: Breakfast was fresh, facilities clean, and fresh juices, coffee.
Cons: The pool and the bugs in it. My sister and I cleared away all the bugs so we could swim. It has no clean filters at all. They were clogged up with bugs. We grabbed the hose and washed off walkways too.
Pros: The staff was awesome. The breakfast and dinner that they offered was great.
Pros: Monday to Thursday a free supper is available. It was excellent and made this extraordinary value for money.
Cons: Laundry is a bit run down.
Cons: You had to hold the handle down on the toilet till it flushed and the driveway was a mess, also tv stations were poor
Pros: Broken glass on the bathroom floor, blood on the wall beside the vanity mirror, cigarette ashes between the beds.
Cons: It was very, very dirty.
Pros: Everything nice friendly people nice rooms
