This was a quiet hotel with basic amenities. Comfortable, very clean, very spacious rooms ... but not lavish. A nice stay with a decent diner type restaurant next door. The hotel was fine ... nothing to do in St. George. So this should just be considered for weary travelers looking for a good nights sleep.
The room is extremely large with two large double beds. The TV is high definition and very clear. The Wi-Fi is good. There is no key-drop near the office.
the owners were very, very friendly. driving from Portland airport we arrived two hours after their office closed, the owner insisted waiting for our late arrival to check us in to the motel. one cannot find a cleaner, more friendly location. there was nothing we disliked
My husband is still raving about how much he liked our stay at the Picket Fence Motel. I agree. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable as well as very available. The town of St Andrew NB was a wonderful destination with lots to do.We went out on the Jolly Breeze, a tall ship, for a whale watch cruise. We enjoyed great food at the restaurants by the waterfront. We walked the Kingsbrae Gardens - beautiful and expansive, The gardens were a little pricey but we got a money off coupon at the motel office. And we took an evening shore walk down by the blockhouse. All these were a short drive from the motel. The motel room was spotless, the beds and pillows wonderfully comfortable, and the shower hot and strong. We didn't see a moose but the hosts said that was a good thing and we wished we could have stayed another day.
The view and access to the Bay of Fundy is incredible - I can't imagine there's a motel with a better location. The restaurant associated with the motel is excellent. The beds in the rooms are excellent, updated with quality matresses and linens. The toilet seat was the old school type with cushioned plastic cover.
