The style and unhurried existence in such a beautifully appointed hotel with such excellent food and attention. Well there are two things. The "piped" music all day every day is irritating and not at all what you would expect. Gentle, varied classical would make a great improvement. Secondly, when we checked in at 2pm there was a dirty breakast tray outside out room which was still there the next morning. That is just not good enough.
Luxury hotel with all facilities. Easy to reach, excellent central location. Beautiful herb and vegetable gardens. Hotel staff is not up to the level of the facilities. We were greeted in English, but the girl concerned could not answer any questions in that language. Upon arrival we were told that we could not have dinner in the hotel restaurant because it was fully booked; looking cross and disappointed for a few minutes resulted in a magic cancellation out of thin air, so that we could have dinner after all. Having told the head waiter at the start of dinner that one of us was a vegetarian, we had nevertheless meat or fish dishes brought to our table five times. As a whole, the hotel and restaurant are overpriced.
Beautiful hotel great location lovely rooms variable service, seemed short of staff, on night we arrived took 30 mins to get drink in bar and no luggage porter. One day room not cleaned until 2 30 when we wanted to get back in it and then no towels left, no shower cap for 5 days
excellent venue. we enjoyed our stay.
Nice poolarea. Beutiful surroundings. Good brekfast. Not a familyplace. Very basic gym.
Staffs are all very kind. Good location to the old town. Tasty foods. Nice room. Nothing.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff incredibly attentive, courteous and helpful. We were made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I can remember having. The only small complaint is that the room had shutters, but the bathroom windows didn't, and the door between the bathroom and bedroom was glass fronted, so it got very light in the room in the early morning. The amazing view from the balcony made up for that though!
Hotel is spacious and peaceful, a perfect place to relax! Staff speaks good english and very helpful! Room (in particular the bathroom) needs a bit of updating, wall in the bathroom has mould and shower door can't be closed properly.
Serene place, comfortable rooms. The hotel is near a train track. You can hear the trains go by. The best rooms are away from the street and the train tracks.
The design, landscape and setting of Le Mas De Pierre is definitely beautiful. The staff are very professional and diligent. The restaurant is very high quality and a great dining experience.
People at reception desk restaurant, bed(matress), access
We enjoyed the trranquility of the setting in a medieval village. Food was excellent but expensive. Would recommend a stay for that special occasion.
It was excellent. Courteous and friendly staff all of them are fluent in English. Everywhere in the hotel is highly decorative. Service snack and drink for guests in the lobby. Excellent dinner and breakfast. The key for room was old fasioned and it was always difficulty to open the door.
The attention to detail was excellent and the staff made us feel very special. Food was first class. A shame that we could not have dinner in the garden restaurant as the temperature was only slightly too cool. Would heaters be an option?
Excellent service and great restaurant! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy. A wonderful experience.
Front of house staff, decor and suite size. Expensive and repetitive menu, no outlook on village side, uncomfortable beds, village is major tourist destination!
The hotel couldn't have been more helpful to enable us to get the best out of our stay. When a bigger and more comfortable room became available we were moved to it at no extra cost It would have been nice to have some fruit with breakfast.
Iy would be nice to be able to buy just a little snack or some kind of food, mayby just microfood.
not expensive clean and friendly no tea coffee water in rooms
Bed size good, staff and management excellent some bathrooms need updating.
Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Unique quietness and friendliness. No.
(a) Extremely friendly and helpful staff and owners, (b) extremely clean, well appointed and comfortable rooms, and (c) beautiful pool and scenic views and well kept up hotel grounds. Lack of bar/lounge/place to socialize in the evening as neighbouring village shuts down quite early.
It was convenient to the historic village of St. Paul; however, the hotel was overpriced for the amenities and very small room. the size of the room and only hqving q tub without a shower.
It is a lovely place. The pool is gorgoeus and the room was clean. But, it was overpriced and out of the way. If you do not have a car, you should not stay there.
Very friendly people, nice and quiet hotel.
The true personal attention of hotel staff was very appreciated. The styling of the rooms and size of the hotel created a warm atmosphere. For convenience purposes, shower capabilities could be improved with fixed handheld shower hooks
The availability and efficiency of the staff. The quality of the infra-structure, atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The room bathroom could be equipped with more towel hangers. During breakfast it would be best if the service staff would not start cleaning the room (washing the chairs, etc.) while people are finishing their meal. It disturbs a bit the breakfast experience.
We were made very welcome and the Hotel was very well placed for the park and shopping. The view was hardly inspiring.
Near to the City, clean room Room was very smal
Location was good and hotel's decor fun and kitschy. Small room.
Location No parking facilities offered to guests, however there is a public parking with preferred rates overnight
Staff is very friendly, breakfast was excellent, hotel in general (colours, furniture...) Room for breakfast is too small for so many people
Location was excellent I wouldn't say it was 4 star. It was very basic and tatty in parts.
Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful. We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
convenient location, not too noisy
We got a good deal for the 'Privileged room' and we were given an upgrade to the next level as it was out of season and they had the ability to offer it to us. Was great to have a large room for a few days. Close to the beach and loads of shopping, restaurants, cafes and the stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. They had all the flyers of tourist things at the counter. Wifi was good. No TV reception for english channels.
I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was very central with easy access to buses and trains.
proximity to local transportation international channels size of room was too small even for one person extremely loud at night rude employees!
the interior of the hotel is exelent, very historical! The restoran is also very doog! Service of the reception and also reception manager was full boor. We planed to stay 21 day- and changed the hotel to another one on the 2 day of our stay!!!
Bad brekfast? bad plage, bad service, wery high preis - but only in this year
Wonderful wonderful staff and location location location. The rooms were well appointed and in a style that suited the hotel. The balcony was a great place to get a lovely view of the sea. The rooms were larger then most European hotel rooms and air conditioned which made it very comfortable in the August heat. The public areas and dining rooms were very comfortable and charming. Good business center with easy access. The carpet in the halls made it hard to move luggage around and did not fit the period and style of the hotel. Some of the art didn't suit the hotel ambiance. The carpet in our room was very worn and old. The bathroom had chipped sharp tiles and had not been updated which was a little disappointing for the price point. We were also disappointed that no one informed of the beach facilities available.
Historic building, beautiful lobby Rooms definitely need refurbishment
Good taste and comfort all over + restaurant Chatecler - the best I ever experienced food/wines and ambiance. Nope.
Very helpful staff; they even said "Have a nice stay" in my language that was amazing! Excellent localtion; place full of arts. You have a feeling that you stay in a museum but you really like it! Just spledid! Nothing, just perfect place.
Perfect location, nice sea views, really interesting interiors. Some service points, at the reseption and consierge points.
The ambiance was nice- classic old style .The rooms were big and the view spectacular. Unfortunately the bath tub drain cover was not working so it required a nail file to remove the cover to drain the tub. This was repeated every day of our stay without the staff fixing it! The room was not cleaned on returning in the afternoon and we were told by reception that we had to call for cleaning !The wall tiles had black mould which Is really unacceptable in a hotel of this class.also, our room had chipped paint around doors and peeling wallpaper trim. All in all,This hotel needs revamping. On the plus side, the location is the best in Nice. The staff were very poor in responding to complaints - no apologies ever.My room smelled of mould ,to discover next day that there was a furnace type room opening into my closet, which did not have a door.On complaining ,I was given an excuse instead of an apology. Also, after staying 3 days,I was stopped by a security doorman on entering the lobby ,to question me if I was staying at the hotel. Very very upsetting and again ,after telling him yes ,no apology. Good staff should know the guests and be carful before causing an embarrassing moment. The service at breakfast was very poor and the buffet layout difficult to manage due to the tightness of the restaurant.
Very charming hotel with friendly staff. The hotel car park is not convenient and is difficult to navigate out of.
Friendly, helpful staff. Bright and airy rooms. Pretty grounds. Tiny swimming pool. Very limited room service. Lack of amenities in the rooms (proper glasses, kettle, etc.)
just everything it was so nice, quit and luxurious....
The position of both the hotel and the room I found the shower over the bath was not good and I had to kneel in the bath to wash my hair
Gentle welcome by the evening hotel employee at our arrival 12 euros per day abusive charges applied for our very clean and silent pet dog although contract with Booking did not mention them
The property is beautiful and comfortable. Very good service. Good breakfast. Good location close to the sea (by car) so finding restaurants is easy. Unfortunately a busy road is very close to the garden and pool; not recommended for clients searching a very quiet place.
Friendly, helpful staff. Cleanliness of hotel.
This hotel is in an beautiful setting, the breakfast area/pool-room is particularly welcoming, relaxing and comfortable. Our room was noisy, I believe that the insulation between floors and adjoining rooms could be improved. We were fortunate that the hotel was not completely full.
A wonderful small hotel in Provence.
Nice beautiful view of St.Paul from room. Great location, easy access from village nearby. Room quite small.
our room was facing the mediterrania, so beautiful. it is so close to restaurants in town and shopping.loved going to the casino after dinner. it was so clean and spacious (our room).
Location close to the sea front The Pool was very small and the sunning area was very small and could only take a small number of sunbathers - we had to instead use the private beach which cost 34 Euros
convenience to activities and shopping Bedroom carpets not properly hoovered, air con.not perceptily effective.
Over all a great experience since arrival, very good complementary high speed wireless internet , great breakfast and wonderful bath and shower along with quality interior, worth every cent.
Firstly the location was fantastic, 10mins from the airport and 10 min walk from the old town. Our room was beautiful and big with a big balcony over looking the sea. Could'nt fault it.
Large spacious room, robes, slippers, fabulous bath There was no blackout curtain... Luckily I brought an eye mask!
Friendliness and courtesy of staff None
staff, service, breakfast, location - excellent, by the sea, good shopping, easy to get to railway station, old city, shopping streets by walk
Wonderful hotel. Excellent quality and service. Centrally located.
It was right on the beach front and a short walk to the two tour buses for Nice. The staff was very friendly, spoke many languages besides French, room service was excellent and very pleasant. No
The majority of your staff could speak english very well. and they were always very friendly and professional particularily Olivier the concierge
The hotel staff were very nice and provided lots of advice on how to move around, what to visit etc. Room was very clean. There is no carpet and it is all white tile which made it look very bright and clean. The sea view and sunrise in the morning is worth every penny spent. Compared to many of the hotels we visited in France this was the best overall experience.
small bathroom without practical furniture!
Renovated rooms on the 5th floor are fabulous, soundproofing is great. Location is excellent, staff is well trained and friendly.
Location The noise from the road in a sea view room The breakfast far too expensive
Staff most helpful
Staff was really friendly
The hotel is in a superb position on the seafront, the staff are extremely courteous and efficient. Furnished very well in a beautiful French style and very clean.
Nice place, nice staff
Overall style of the hotel and its superb location No parking - in a very busy and complex town
Staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the location was perfect.
I like the location the staff very not helpful at all ,had to ask 5 times at breakfast for hot water in order to have tea
Quiet, comfortable and charming.
Very clean and comfortable even though an older property. Good price for the area. The location map was not very specific. It would have been better with detailed instructions on how to find the hote.
Good location, pool and enviroment
Food at the restaurant was excellent. Room was on the small side, and the lack of natural light meant that you had to have the lights on. Mirror-glass in the doors gave an inaccurate sense of privacy - with the lights on, passers-by can see into the rooms!! Wi-fi access was available, but not in the morning when we tried it - I'm still waiting for Reception to tell me what was wrong. We looked at the Breakfast buffet, but it was not value for money, nor did it look very appetizing. When we booked there was a 100 per cent booking charge - you had to pay up-front. I had to explain this to Reception when they tried to charge me again for our accommodation.
Very close to two beautiful villages (St Paul-de-Vence and Cagnes sur Mer Haut) and less than 20 minutes to downtown Nice. Quite close to a main road, so lying by the pool means a lot of noise.
Location to visit around The bathroom and the breakfast
kindness of the staff
Friendly, helpful staff/owners
The manager (owner?) was pleasant on arrival and has kept in contact re the loss of my daughters jeans while staying at this hotel. As stated above, my daughter had a pair of new jeans stolen from our room She wore them out for dinner on the first night of our two night stay. On arrival at our next destination, her jeans were not in her suitcase. We phoned and emailed the owner, but have not had a favourable result. He told us the jeans were not found by the cleaner, so where have they gone. We did notice the french door to the balcony ajar on our return the second day. I can not understand why the jeans were removed, and my new hp laptop was not.
The owners were delightful, friendly and helpful. Our room which was delightful, and the hotel, were kept in immaculate condition. It would have been nice to have tea making facilities but then we are English!
Nice adjacent restaurant. Clean room with an bit odd, but original, design. Clearly visible that the hotel was renovated last year. Noise level in the room was a bit high due to the busy road outside.
Beautiful hotel, good location, very friendly and efficient staff. The hydrotherapy pool is lovely
The hotel seems over-rated. It gives you the feeling of being old or overused or at least not well taken care of. Beyond the intention of design...some of the fittings seem...cheap... Plus, the idea of having the bathtub in the room could be special, but it is not practical. The lights are also not thought in a practical way...
the roses all around the place no service after 12 a.m. :(
The Incredible architecture, fantastic staff and superb rooms.
Great location. Friendly staff. great room. All extars very expensive - eg breakfast or to have a drink in the bar (22 euros for one cognac !)
Very accomodating, not too big and felt personal. The service is exceptional and the spa is a must-do.
You can hear everything in the corridor. not good service at all. horrible breakfast
Beautiful design, good location for shopping The air conditioner didn't work well, it was very hot when we arrived at evening time. I called the reception two times, they promised to come and do something but they didn't, so we suffered the very hot room even in autumn time, +17 degree outside. They only fix it in the next morning.
Food and Hotel were gorgeous. WiFi 7E for 30 mins in reception! No WiFi in bedrooms. Should be free in bedrooms.
great hotel ,great design , nothing
The staff was polite, funny and spoke perfect English. The manager worked like crazy to help out at the breakfast. We were impressed. The rooms! They're fine but there was absolutely no where to put anything. Our room had one lawn chair. It was weird. It all feels a little too Miami Vice with the colors. Felt slightly Miami-ish/Golden Girls. Bottom floor was noisy with window open.
Beautiful and relaxing surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool looked great but wasn't open in March. Expensive. Breakfast was very expensive at 15euro. Not a great selection and they run out very fast so you need to be there early.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Great place to stay
Pretty whitewashed buildings with lots of Provencal character. Rooms have antique touches but also practical and bright. Excellent location with fine views of St Paul village, mountains and the sea. The staff were unhelpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations in the village of St Paul, which was surprising considering the hotel does not have its own restaurant. They must get asked for this all the time!
I loved my room - the furniture and fabrics were fabulous. The view of St. Paul de Vence was breathtaking. All around a very comfortable and wonderful experience. Breakfast was especially lovely on the terrace. Also - this was one of the few places in France that I stayed that had an English newspaper available every day... When I was exploring the grounds one of the staff rather abruptly ushered me out of an area that apparantly was private (there were no signs to that effect). Generally - there was one staff member that was really helpful and friendly and the others seemed a bit stand offish...possibly because I didn't speak French...
Loved the atmosphere. Went in June2009. Flowers in full bloom. Fantastic hotel. Very different to a 'normal' hotel in a big city. St Paul is a nice village. Be sure to try and visit tourrettes sur loop about 1hr up the road. Driving into Nice can be scary! Avoid rush hour. Avoid restaurants with english menus. Nothing I can think of.
What a great place! Family style, romantic, with attention to details and wonderful staff. Excellent location, alking distance from St. Paul. I will certainly go back.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable with a great deal of charm. The grounds are beautifully kept with a large swimming pool and lots of room for roaming and privacy. Le Hameau is an excellent choice and St Paul is a delightful village.
The location close to St. Paul, good restuarants and museums/galleries. The room was quaint but a little difficult to navigate with steps to the bathroom and not enough space for luggage.
the place is beautiful' the room is very nice, view. quite. luftury. very good location. i didnt know that there are cheaper rooms in this hotel (they where not available when i made the reservation), and i felt that i spent a lot of money. one of the stuff was ok. the other one was very helpfull.
The staff could not have been more helpful. Our expwrience was exceptionally good
The Peace and Quiet
The privacy, was second to none. The peace and quiet was superb. And last but not least, the scenery and locality was nothing short of magnificent I would have just one minor complaint, and that is the size of the toilet, which is totally inadequate. It was without doubt way, way too small
The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We appreciated all the help about the area and the pleasant surroundings. While we wouldn't classify this as luxurious, it is very comfortable and an excellent value for the money. We recommend it highly.
location, view, very calm nothing
Friendly staff, clean room, nice facilities including a swimming pool.
Fine countryside views from the rooms, friendly staff and good breakfasts. The garden room we originally booked was of a disappointing standard but we were able to upgrade to an upstairs room which was very pleasant. The owners did admit they have plans to upgrade the 2 garden rooms as soon as they can so that they match the high standard of the upstairs rooms.
the owners and family were extremely helpful to an English speaking group and they have a lovely Hotel with exquisite view of the town. no
The fantastic view and a great shower. Although very close to town, you can't walk into town on the road.
This hotel is fabulous. A wonderful retreat from the frantic traffic and constant movement of Nice. Lovely view. Get directions - easy to find once you know where you're going.
The view of Saint-Paul de Vence from our balcony and dining room, and the thoughtful gift of champagne to help us celebrate our second honeymoon. My husband slept well, but I was bothered by the protective plastic covering on the mattress. Otherwise it was a nice stay.
Fantastic peaceful location within vineyards which is ideal to relax and stay away from blackberries and emails, beautiful swimming pool although we didn't use it cos' the weather was awful during our stay, adequate parking space available and only a few minutes away from Saint Paul. We'll definitely visit it again in the future. We would expect improved amenities for bathroom, that's the only negative can think of.
This is a family run hotel 'de charme' with a terrific ambience set in lovely grounds with a large heated pool which serves a good breakfast and a lovely little lunch beside the pool. Pool area has lots of comfortable sunbeds and areas for children and adults alike. Lots of little 'nooks' on the property to sit in the shade, a lounge area for guest use with full satellite TV channels (often 'satellite tv' means just French cable stations and CNN) and books to read. You can walk to the village from here (about 10-15 minutes) without going onto the main road (most of the other hotels close by are below the village and you have to walk up the main road to get to it). The staff at the hotel are friendly and happy to help as much as possible without being obtrusive. No snacks or food available after lunch.
The Manager/Owner was very nice and helpful. Very pleasent scenery and the pool and the lunch served by it was especially nice.
perfect, very nice enviromment, very nice room, and very nice Village nothing, it is perfect!!!
The most idyllic location imaginable, very close to St Paul De Vence and easily found from Nice Aiport and Cagnes Sur Mer Very hard to think of any really - but I suppose you need a car if you are to enjoy the local area. The hotel is quite remote and there is no food available in the evening. Could do with a fridge in the room.
Excellent location, friendly&helpful staff. -
An excellent location and very helpful staff - they contacted a local museum for us to find out if it was open on a Public Holiday (it wasn't!) The buffet breakfast was a bit disappointing. It looked good but all the breads were very dry and chewy, the fruit didn't taste fresh and tea needs to be made with boiling water, not from a pot of warm water brought to the table.
Very convenient location. Room was spacious. Staff were good humoured and helpful. Bed was super comfy!
Location, location, location Clear specification of parking on web site
Friendliness of staff. Reccomendations for excellent local restaurants UnInformed of Sarcozie's visit & therefore inability to get in or out of hotel
location was wonderful, just across the street from the beach and only a couple of blocks from the old town
excellent situation for beach and right on promenade. service was good, friendly staff.
Nice and clean rooms, close to most Nice amenities, 2 car rentals in the same building (plus casino and police! dept) Common area is very small and required slight renovation, personnel could be more friendly
Seaview rooms are great, exactly in front of the sea and with a modern furniture.
good staff bedroom quite dark on second floor
staff was friendly no maintenance in the evening.
the friendlyness of the staff at the reception desk The rooms were not cleaned adequately every day, sheets were not changed and soap was not restocked every day. Also, internet access was a rip off pricewise.
The hotel is very well located Staff at the reception could have been more helpful
upon checking in we reported the bed linen being dirty, it was noted and told it can only be tended to the next day, the next day the roomstaff still did not change it. I certainly won't stay at this hotel neither recomend it
the ubication was excellent, the hotel is modern and the personal was very nice
The location to the shopping district. I think the decor and carpeting could be updated.
best price in offpeak season.
Super helpful staff
Great location - quite close to train station. Clean hotel and had a room with a balcony overlooking Rue Jean Medicin. Friendly staff. Nothing in particular.
The hotel was very central and most of the staff were excellent. One guy was very rude. We only had one key for a shared room.Could not access the iron in evening before dinner and the receptionist did not do his best for us to get it. he was very abrupt saying they did not have one.The hairdryer was antiquated.very old and useless.need replacing.
we were given room 401. We liked it because it was a renovated room with a view of the sea. The bed was very good. Towels were good and the supplies (soap, shower cap, body cream etc...) in the toilet were good.
What I liked most about the hotel is that it is very central. You are near the sea and shopping and restaurants are also very close. Probably coming from a country that has a "smoking ban" I felt that the smell in the corridors was quite overpowering, and this was made worse by the fact that air freshner's were used. I feel the hotel needs some freshening up. Breakfast also was delivered incorrectly to us on our first morning. We did not get what we ordered and it was cold.
location, price and atractivness I does not have a pool and the room was small.
The location, and room size. The hotel was very clean. We would have liked 2 chairs in the room. The bar area was basic and lack atmospere, it did not open until 6pm. The roof terrace was closed the whole time we were there.
Location Everything else. Room to small old dirty, poor breakfast, service. My Deluxe room was much small than my friend's superior ?
Excellent location for shops and beach. Very nice hotel. Room not quite matching external areas of hotel. Overall, very nice hotel. Rooftop restaurant/bar/seating area impressive. Room very average.
Location Poor view from room. No coffee or tea making acilities in the room.
Location Room size
location excellent, quiet, very good maid service, plenty of towels the tv selection is not for english speakers, the shower did not have hot water all the time and hard to control, bathroom small for so called luxury hotel, no coffee or tea with room, no couch in room, staff was aloof
Location Staff not very helpful. Very slow to deal with guests at reception
It was right on the Esplanade D'Anglaise and very well located for everything.
close proximity of sea and shops/restaurants. grandeur of a hotel with history and tradition.
the location was ideal, the hotel very comfortable. In short, we were very satisfied.
Interior and seaview, helpful receptionist Poor breakfast, leaking ceiling
Fabulous location and views, excellent access to old city
nice view, good breakfast and restaurant
Very friendly helpfull staff
Across the street from the beach, fairly good location with free internet. Excellent refurbished bathrooms. Staff was very friendly, particularly the bellman. Pictures on the hotel site do not match rthe ooms - stained rugs, old looking furniture, very hard beds and rough linens do make it a newly renovated room except for the wonderful bathrooms. However the size was perfect for two people and the rooms were clean.
The friendly and helpful staff and the fact that it was so near to the bay No
A spacious bedroom & bathroom A little strange there was not shower curtain or door in the bathroom
