10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room, staff is friendly and helpful. But so sorry that i leave the light on when check out by myself. Hope to return here. Thanks for the nice service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We came here straight for the airport after a long flight from London and it was the perfect peaceful place to rest up for a couple of days at the start of our trip, easy to find from the station too. The room is beautifully done, with lovely little details. It's really clean and comfortable and has everything we needed. There's the added bonus of the wonderful cafe at the front too and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The owner and staff were so helpful and kind. I would highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional Japanese accommodation. The room was freshly renovated and had a very nice simple aesthetic. I personally find the traditional Japanese bedding very comfortable and if you like hard mattresses you should also. Room was also great for chilling in when you need some down time from your trip and tourism. Full large (unlike most places!) water bottles to drink or make proper tea with. Small private "garden" and sliding doors in room for fresh air is great (modern Japanese hotels often lack opening windows and air!). Easy check-in and departure. Very close to Sakai station for your day trips and train to/from Airport. Just a wonderful little place.
Cons: Nothing, but if the hotel really wants a bit of feedback to improve on: I am quite light sensitive when sleeping. Light comes in via the small semi-transparent windows between the room and hallway. Some way of reducing this would be nice. But really tiny thing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is a gorgeous, traditional guesthouse in a quiet area. The room had a really luxurious feeling, with a large tatami room and a view out into a garden. The bathroom was well equipped and very comfortable. It was really quiet despite there being other guests around. Internet was fast and reliable. The cafe attached to the guesthouse is another huge benefit - it serves tasty food for meals and drinks are great too. Sakai is a cute area with a few things to do nearby if you don’t feel like making the trip into Osaka (staff were really helpful for recommendations).
Cons: The futon mattress was a little thinner than I would have liked. Some light came into the room from the hallway at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good but map should show check-in desk at cafe! Tram is right outside the door, amazing location. Beautiful modern accommodations with traditional Japanese influence.
Cons: Need to be patient for check in, English is not main language.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice looking, comfortable room. Delicious breakfast! Staff very friendly.
Cons: Internet connection could be better (but enough for surfing).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean and traditional
Cons: No slippers
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful traditional Ryokan, a brilliant and must-have experience when in Japan! So lucky to have booked this place. Host was lovely, provided a lovely breakfast cooked fresh in the morning, and made us feel very welcome. Room itself came with wifi, great amenities and such a cute setting. (Bedding includes a thick blanket and duvet with a 2 layered mattress.) Would definitely come to stay here again and for longer next time!
Cons: Expect to be on a mattress on the floor, may not be to everyones comfort!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good traditional Japanese room for visitor to experiencing. Good location about 10 mins to Sakai station by walking. I definitely choose this hotel for my next visit of Kansai area.
Hotel Olive Sakai - Adults Only - Sakai - Building

8.5 Excellent (201 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Olive Sakai - Adults Only in Sakai, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Sumiyoshi Park and Intex Osaka. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: 'Love Hotel' rooms are a very good alternative way for a very comfortable stay in Japan, because they are very spacious and well equipped, e.g. good acoustic insulation, super size bed, huge private bathroom, often including a whirlpool etc. (actually over-equippied, e.g. with even a karaoke system, gaming machine and high-tech light(show) system, which is not easy to handle since the instruction for the many light and air condition switches is only in Japanese). But the staff is very friendly and helpful, even that hardly speaking English. The hotel is located at half-way between Kansai airport and central Osaka, just a few minutes to walk from local Nankai line Ishizugawa station. In and near the train station there are some 24-hour convenience stores, retaurants and shops. Direct (local) train connections to Namba Station in central Osaka every 20 minutes, and the famous Sumiyoshi taisha (grand shrine) can be reached easiest just after 5 train stops in the direction to Namba Station.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a king-size room which was bigger than we expected. The room came with not only a TV, but a large screen if you wanted to watch TV/movies on the projector. (The menu is in Japanese though which may be hard to navigate if you can't read) The bathroom was very spacious as well and the bathtub was equipped with bubble jets! You can even do karaoke for free! (There are microphones in the room as well but you just need to ask the front desk for the karaoke handheld) The location is also within walk-able distances to some of the restaurants around the area and the hotel does a good job of providing foreign visitors with maps of the surrounding area.
Cons: It wasn't easy to connect to the free WiFi that was available. (Every time I tried to connect to the WiFi on my phone, it struggled to connect fully) Also the room didn't feel as fully clean as you would expect a hotel room to feel. (I noticed there was sticky spots on the information booklet that could have been wiped off easily) Driving to the property was a bit of a struggle too because the area is a bit condensed and very close to the busier parts of the city, though this isn't a problem if you come by train.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fun, comfortable and loads of facilities in room with great bathroom.
Cons: First room really smelled of smoke but receptionist quickly fixed that with a different room which was lovely.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Projector, even we didn't use it. Also there are everything that woman needs and nice bath
Cons: Playing machine like pachinko
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The largest room I've seen in Japan during my 2 week stay, with all the comfort you've imagined. Clean and neat.
Cons: Industrial area without sufficient public transport.
7.5 Good
Pros: close to convenience store and restores
Cons: no microwave in the room , there is a sofa there remove the sofa cushions you can see not clean stuff, i cannot pick a room i want
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge bed, jacuzzi, TV in the bathroom, enormous room and extremely comfortable and seemed very clean. Some people might be put off by the fact that it's an adult (sex) hotel, but I just thought it was amusing! It doesn't give off a seedy vibe at all and all of the facilities are excellent!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The biggest room I saw during all my trip in Japan! Very confortable and quiet. The price was very good. It's well located if you have to take the airport in the next morning.
Cons: Very poor Wifi. Could have been cleaner (especially the flood and table).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean and not too far from Kansai airport
Cons: poker machine in room, bright lights
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a love hotel and we knew it beforehand. It was still special to have these extra "amenities", such as a slot machine and a money exchange machine in the room. It was clean and quite big. They also lend a cell phone in the room. We stayed there before going to airport, so the location was close to the train and the price was attractive.
Cons: Problems with the wifi, but we managed to use the cell phone that was available for free

Pros: Staff was super friendly. The entire building was very clean, with basic amenities provided such as towels and toothbrush. Amazing value and a great short-term stay.
Cons: The air circulation could have been a little better inside the "rooms" but it wasn't too bad, just a tad dusty from the blankets.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cute hostel in the middle of Sakai, it's close to the station, however tucked away on a side street which makes it really peaceful. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Thank you so much!

7.0 Good
Pros: it's convenient location for a short stay if you're around this area. you can find shops and restaurants within a short walk. Ice cream on breakfast makes your day.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: relaxing, quiet, clean and there is a lot of amenities. although its a distance to train station, bus will take atleast 15-20 minutes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the library area where there were so many spots you can hang out in to read. I also loved the food, they were delicious and affordable. The onsen area was also wonderful. There were many pools to try, one of the pools had a different infusion added to it every day, for example, one day it was Rose and the other day it Grapefruit. There were also two saunas. I highly recommend going into the Hydro Sauna. When you enter you pour water on the seat then get a handful of salt to rub on your skin before the sauna starts its program. My skin was so smooth afterwards. I also loved using the water jet massagers, it got rid of this stubborn back pain I've had. There are also many other services you can pay for like a full body scrub, massage and even a parlor. The payment system is all recorded on the bracelet you receive for your shoe locker, you never take out cash in the establishment. If you want something form the vendo, you tap your bracelet and it will be recorded there, they record your number at the restaurant and charge it there. You pay for everything at the front desk when you check out.
Cons: I wish they had better pillows for the capsule hotel. There are pillows you can borrow from a bin, but they give you one white pillow for your room, that one white pillow I thought was not fluffy enough, it was too flat and made it a little uncomfortable to sleep in. It's also difficult for foreigners to go around and understand what's happening as everything was in Japanese and the staff only speaks in Japanese. I was equipped with Japanese a little above basic level and have been living in Japan for nearly a year, and it took some time to figure things out, had to do a lot of observing since I couldn't read anything.
7.0 Good
Pros: One staff speaks English and was very helpful. This place is excellent for locals but not for foreigners. There is free sauna, massage chair, WiFi, close to the water, quiet. Have a restaurant on site and prices are fair.
Cons: Too far from Sakai center and buses run only every hour. Nobody speaks English except for that one staff. All the guests are Japanese.
7.0 Good
Pros: The walls of manga.
Cons: I was given inadequate instruction for where to check in to my bed.

5.5 Okay
Pros: the view from the rooms and size of the rooms was good
Cons: right next to the station but quiet far from the city and changing trains was a hassle
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: Bed was too had hard and too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always nice, kind and professional. Big advantage of traditional hotel
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff and breakfast are great! Big room. Beautiful view. Close to sakai station.
Cons: Not so close to universal city.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious rooms. Staff are really helpful, location exactly by the station
Cons: Sometimes the AC wont work and we cant adjust the temperature of the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, gym and swimming pool
Cons: Quite old fashioned. Rooms with shower curtain, even in the Executive Room.
7.0 Good
Pros: The size of the room and location being near to the KIX Airport and right across the train station. Small shopping outlet on other side of the station. Initially we thought there was not much there, realized in evening there were enough restaurants to choose from. Even though we were in a rush to get to the airport, the breakfast was nice and good variety of food.
Cons: The bathroom could do with some upgrade as it was old. Had hoped to be able to easily go into Osaka, but after long trip from Hiroshima, we were too exhausted and was further out than we'd hoped. Signs to find reception from the train station were not that clear.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is really convenient. It’s right out of Sakai station, with 2 supermarkets near the station (Hyogo and Life), a KFC, a few other restaurants, and 2 convenience stores (1 is near platplat, another one (family mart) is within walking distance from Life). In conclusion, daily necessities are essentially readily available within walking distance from the station. Thus, it’s very convenient. However do note that most shops closes around 2000-2100, with the exception of supermarkets.
Cons: The Wi-Fi is pretty unstable. It takes me close to 1.5 hours to finish a video of around 45 minutes. This is because the Wi-Fi would be connected, but there won’t be internet connection. Sometimes, it is so bad that it wasn’t loading anything (but Wi-Fi is still connected). Apart from the unstable Wi-Fi, there are no qualms on the property.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is directly connected to the train station
8.8 Excellent
Pros: near the airport and railway station, big and comfortable bed & room

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Staff were great, so friendly, so helpful, so kind, so thoughtful, always going out of there way to help and make you comfortable. The facilities were fantastic, enjoyed everything including Spa, Bathroom, Bedding. Everything was exceptional. Just Great!
Cons: Everything was fantastic, so there is nothing I can complain about. Was all great
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is an either going to or going from Kansai airport hotel unless your a local. We were meet by the cutest receptionist who giggled her way through the most in-depth introduction to the hotel. The location is somewhat remote but the room was massive for Japan hotel & although a little dated (Miami Vice 80's) it was comfy spacious & spotless. There was a separate Bathroom, wc,closet and tatami bedroom. Full bath with tv, sound lighting & bubbles. Breakfast was very simple but included & free parking so all in all very good for us.
6.8 Good
Pros: Rooms are a good size, old Jacuzzi style bath. Lady at reception was very lovely and helpful. She knew simple English, what she didn't understand she was quick to translate. Few good restaurants within walking distance
Cons: Very outdated hotel, facilities were old. Breakfast was a single boiled egg, 2 pieces of toast and a popper. Most basic breakfast I've had while travelling.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast should be a little more wealthy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked that after 3.5 days of touring Kyoto and Osaka that there was a hot tub in the room we could soak our weary feet in. The mattresses were firm and really helped with getting us to sleep faster. Our child was 10months and is crawling everywhere so having the low tables and the tatami mats helped decrease risk of injury.
Cons: When it said western style breakfast we were thinking the way it usually is every time we stay somewhere in Japan that states western style: toast, eggs, meat, salad. We were hoping for a bit more than toast, hard boil egg, and juice/coffee for the price. Staying somewhere that serves a good breakfast usually makes the deal for us as its the first thing we look for in the morning.
7.5 Good
Pros: Facilities were pretty good. Good location.
Cons: Hotel doesn't allow guests/friends to visit in the room you are renting. Very inconvenient if you have friends or business associates and you want to invite them for a drink/chat.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel ambiance is so retro classic and I felt like in James Bond Film. The Jacuzzi and the telly in the bathroom were amazing, so relaxing after a long hot day cruising the OSAKA city!
7.0 Good
Pros: It was very comfortable and getting a beer on arrival was good. It was clean and it suited us perfectly as it was on the line to the airport: staff were very friendly and check in and out was simple.
Cons: It’s quite old fashioned with the furnishings. It was a good area for what we needed, but wouldn’t say it was a good area for exploring Osaka.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good sized rooms and non smoking a real bonus in Japan. We spent 4 nights in total here and were very pleased overall with the facilities
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely polite, attentive, helpful and welcoming. Information provided on local travel by bus train and subways came in very handy . Getting to and from the hotel was relatively easy using public transport . The offer of shuttle service to and from the local train station made it easier . I used google maps to navigate train and subway services. Osaka is a sprawling city so I relied quite heavily . There are train and subway stations within walking distance of the hotel. I purchased a Japanese Rail Pass before arriving in Japan- allows you to use rail and subways ( does not cover all trains ,details come with the pass) The room was spotlessly clean. Towels and toiletries were replenished daily. Hair drier hot brush curling tongs were provided. The bathroom had both a shower and jacuzzi bath tub . Ample supply of hot water and good water pressure. It is customary to remove your outdoor shoes before entering your room.Slippers were provided to use in the toilet area. . The toilet itself is all singing and dancing with settings to provide privacy, cleansing and music!! The hotel is close to a busy road but I was unaware of any traffic noise in the room i stayed in. Shutters on the windows allow you to block or let in the light as you wish. Simple breakfast of toast boiled egg and drinks came free . There was an additional breakfast menu for a minimal cost. Tea and coffee is provided in the room and free in the dining area. The dining area is basic but again spotlessly clean. Overall a very enjoyable stay and good value for money.
Cons: The dining area could do with a bit of an upgrade..

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hot Spring & Capsule Hotel copana in Sakai, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Sumiyoshi Park and Spa World. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Men's lockers, bath, cupsules are all on the same floor and easy to access / move around.
Cons: Pillow was a bit stinky
5.5 Okay
Pros: The sauna was a very refreshing change of pace. First time I've visited one in a long time, and they had 2 versions to choose from here. Staff was also always very pleasant to interact with. Big thanks to the man calling taxi companies for me. I was also impressed with the size of each capsule. I had no troubles sitting upright which was nice.
Cons: Well, it was a little bit inconvenient to have to check out and in for multiple day stays to begin with. And while I understand that it might be difficult to combat and prevent, but there were far too many skin flakes floating around in the big bath. The pillow also wasn't comfortable at all, accompanied with the plastic pillow was a normal blanket you'd expect to find on s sofa. It just wasn't really suited for the capsule which suffered from bad air-conditioning already.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Modern capsule with AC, TV and headset, light. Wonderful Onsen spa! Males and females are separated into two floors. Men can use their bath till 2am, women till 12midnight only. Not sure why there is a discrepancy... limited English speaking staff but great experience that gave us confidence to try another Onsen spa in Osaka.
Cons: Hard bed & square pillow. This is a very Japanese place with traditional Japanese bedding. You need to wear their pijamas & lock your shoes. Their restaurant was not open everyday but it was a holiday week (Golden Week).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Very clean - Staffs are very friendly
Cons: Far from Sakai station
6.8 Good
Pros: The indoor onsen/spa was nice.
Cons: Despite booking two nights in a row, we were told we would have to pay for the second night the next again day, we found this a little strange but nevertheless accepted this. However we did not realise this meant we had to check out the next day at 10 and then check back in at 3 which was very odd. We had actually decided to go out drinking the first night since this was the first hotel we managed to book for two consecutive nights during Golden Week. We weren't prepared at all to check out at 10 as we were slightly worse for wear. We ended up just sitting around the lounge area all day till we could check back in.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, people, onsen
Cons: Nothing at all except the small tax at the end of our stay, just let us know at the beginning would have been appreciated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent and very kind and hospitable. Hot spring was a great experience!

Cons: It took some time to get front desk help - expect no English. Location is a little far.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room size and the friendly staff
Cons: Other two choice for breakfast and everyday same menu
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, (although they speak no English) good breakfast and amazing facilities.
Cons: We stayed in a room for smokers and while none of us smoked and are not particularly bothered by the smell of cigarettes, it is worth keeping in mind that you may ask for a non smoker room and still get one for smokers as the staff speaks very little english.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good size room. Friendly staff.
Cons: Room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke.

Pros: Good location to stay. Clean rooms and cust beneficial for the person looking for a good place to stay near Kansai-Airport and Namba Station. Recommend!
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a good location. The room is comfortable.
Cons: The room is a little bit small. You can't control the AC temperature what makes the room hot during winter.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location - grocery, pharmacy, station, clothing & lots of food options within 2min walk. Must try the Round One centre just around the corner, such a hidden gem. The staff were friendly - we had to check in around 11.30pm as our flight was a late one.. this was accommodated easily and check out was a breeze. Overall we were quite happy with our stay as a couple and would recommend it for singles and couples for leisure or business
Cons: The pillows were hard and thin but we requested fluffier pillows from the staff and these were delivered to our room instantly. The room was a bit small too but you would expect that from Japan.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I had a problem with the payment. A card machine didn't accept my mastercard (the officer said a mastercard can't use on festive period). However, I got a notification that I had already paid the hotel fee but the hotel did't get my money so I have to pay again via JCB card. It is meant that I paid a hotel fee twice. Both of APA's receptionists and Booking's Staff are willing to help me solve the problem. Thank you for your kindness and I will definitely visit this hotel again. THANKS!!!!
4.3 Okay

Cons: When cleaning any room better do it top to bottom.
