The view and friendliness of the staff it caters for Brits, and this reflected in the type of breakfast - instant coffee!, typical english corn-flake type cereals, etc
We stayed at this hotel 2 nights. The hotel is located perfectly at the beautiful beach. There are several good restaurants nearby. The hotel personal is very helpful, experienced and friendly. However, mostly it is lication, location, location!!!
Relaxed efficient management - calm friendly ambiance
Very nice people. Not a big city but enough pleaces to go when your there. Nice and peacefull. Excellent service of the hotel.
The hotel was extremely clean and the family-run staff were friendly. The Salema beach was very clean and I recommend spending a day there. The beds were very uncomfortable. At night (2am) it is very loud outside the hotel with people talking outside the bar and noise travels directly into your room, no matter which floor you are on. Lack of carpeting and insulation means you can here a pin drop from the floor above you.
next to beach and choice of restaurants, gorgeous breakfasts, good air con, all rooms seem to have sea view, small rooms, but comfy, even smaller bathrooms but adequate
In a word, location. Facing a beautiful beach in an unspoiled Algarve village, with some great restaurants close by. Modest rooms with few amenities. No wi-fi.
the rooms and the location close to beach and restaurants nothing
Position relative to the beach. View from bedroom windows. Restuarant next door- excellent food. Difficulty finding parking space.
The cleanliness of the room.
Room at back of hotel was quite and did not have road noise Price perhaps in recession times
What a wonderful little place to stay, Ideal for couples only ,( there were No children there when we stayed last week in August) Peaceful, Friendly, nothing to much trouble, small bar downstairs in kitchen/ breakfast area, very strange layout but acceptable, Large Fridge in Bathroom was fantastic, everywhere very clean and 10 mins easy walk out of the town, up a slight hill on return, good selection bars ,restaurants, in Luz, quiet location although some rooms may be on roadside with some traffic noise, wonderful pool area, nice size rooms all balcony or terrace, only some with air con, safe parking for motorbikes, good local bus service, to Espiche, Burgau and Lagos, bus stops close by. Bathroom Towels could be bigger, No shampoo etc..and proper pool towels need to be provided. Will find you a towel if requested but not good.Only on arrival do you find that Espiche, (it has a very nice English run restaurant) and Burgau, 2 lovely villages are further than you think, if wanting to visit them The taxi has to be booked and come from Lagos. If you want to visit these villages, use the good bus service, or you can walk into Luz for a taxi. Just thought this comment useful.
It's expensive, the hotel don't have enought resources to be a right choice. I will not return never if there another solution.
This place is excellent, we felt almost as being at home! Everywhere clean and well maintained, the pool area is really nice and the service excellent. If you don't have a car it might be tricky to stay here as it's located between Lagos and Sagres.
The B&B is conveniently located just a 10 min walk outside Luz. Nice relaxed atmosphere, clean large rooms with balcony. Good breakfast. And the even have a pretty decent swimming pool.
relaxing and comfortable in an excellent position for beaches restaurants and shops all within walking distance would recommend to family and friends.
The staff were polite and friendly. The rooms were clean and the pool was nice. As for the location it was close to the town and beech. Overall a good place to stay.
Very clean and modern, beds were excellent and very comfortable. Room heater not quite warm enough, found controls a bit awkward.
Lack of info pack in room. Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Location with respect to the beach, price, facilities, and the full breakfast
thta you have to pay for the pool towels
Not enough warmth and not enough hot water
clean and tidy ,great staff, in particular the female receptionist Felipiana ? good food and a very good location, we would go again no
The garden and the pool and the proximity to the beach Yes, they give us one room close to the air conditioner machines and one of them wasn't working fine, making a lot of noise. We called the reception that told us that they already knew that but they still gave us that room.
everything nwas very pleasant yes. The coffee at breakfast was terrible. undrinkable
Lovely Hotel Complex
The standard fo the breakfast was poor.
We got the room with the nice ocean view. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Good value for the money
Easy access to the town
Easy parking, good location for the beach area, twin bed, calm room Coffee at breakfast was terrible, too less personal for high season
Right in the centre of this small fishing village, near the beach.
Big hotel with all the facilities you would wish for. Not too crowded when we stayed there. Very friendly staff, who were always ready for us. Nice swimmingpool, if the beach is too windy
great villa,a home away from home
The setting--beautiful, rolling hills in the western Algarve. The staff--friendly, professional, with a "can do" attitude. The villa--enormous, clean, well-equipped with every kitchen amenity and several gorgeous balconies. The pool and spa area was beautiful and large. I could go on about how amazing this place was, but essentially it was the highlight of our entire trip to Portugal! They didn't provide any shampoo or soaps, but this was a minor point as most of the guests there stay for longer periods so therefore probably bring their own.
This is an excellent resort, we had a 3 bedroom villa, which was spacious and very well equiped including a microwave, hairdryer, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconys etc. The pool was fantastic with lots of loungers, there are several restaurants on the resort and the spa was amazing, offering all the usual treatments to a very high standard. The golf course looked amazing. On the whole no, but you really do need to have a car. Reception is about a mile from the villas, Lagos is approx 12 miles and Sagres 15. But there is more than enough to keep you amused within the resort
While we were vacationing in Spain we took an over-night trip to Portugal. The views from the room were beautiful We actually had such a great time and were so impressed with the Spa and services that when we got back to Spain we recommended Parque Da Floresta to acquaintances who were also staying at the same hotel in Spain and they went for a couple of days. There was no blow dryer in the room, a minor inconvenience.
Beautiful views, gorgeous golf course and very good gym facilities. Close to amazing restaurants all for a lower cost than being in Lagos. The staff were extremely helpful as well, and spoke perfect English for us to communicate effectively! I liked everything, but think that they should improve the description of the rooms. For a very low cost, we received an entire bedroom 3 bath Villa that was gorgeous, and I am sure more people would book if they knew what superior value it was to bring a family there. They also don't advertise how close to the towns and beach they are (5 mins) which was a plus, as it wasn't crowded.
Excellent apartment and services. Really superb arrangement. Please provide some additional indications to make easier to reach it.
Plenty of facilities. Not too crowded. Nice heated pool with panoramic view of Budens Lack of parasolls at the round pool.
Peace and quiet. Space. Pools and Sun Loungers
spacious well appointed town house with fabulous roof terrace. Good facilities at Parque de Floresta (5 min car journey). stairs everywhere - in the town house, to the town house, round the resort - not toddler/buggy friendly. Also we went May half term yet all facilities in this part of the resort were closed and you had to go to Parque de Floresta - car imperative! There is child friendly pool behind restaurant complex (shut) but pools in accommodation area all 2m+ depth. Excellent child's pool at PdeF but need to pay to access.
The view from the villa. Upon arrival at the Quinta Da Encosta Velha Resort, reception staff informed us that they did not have the accommodation which we had booked with booking.com ie 3 bedroomed deluxe villa. However they wanted to 'upgrade' my family to a luxury villa with a private pool. They failed to tell us however, that the villa was about 5 miles away from civilisation across a dirt-track road on the side of a mountain. We arrived in 35 degree heat after travelling for 8 hours, and discovered that the nearest shop was miles away. Therefore as we had arrived by taxi, we were abandoned in a remote area without basics such as water and food. Reception staff did not provide any 'induction' information or advise that a car was essential.
the villas were serviced to a very high standard and were very clean
