Pros: Lovely room and bathroom, roomy, freshly painted and clean. The continental breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: The downstairs guest entrance door at the rear can be fully locked from the inside, as we found out when we arrived back at the building around midnight after our family event. It seems the occupants of the other guest room had locked the door by mistake by pushing the button up. Luckily we managed to wake them and gain entry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It feels lucky to have found this place. We stopped off on the way to Dover to catch a ferry and again on the way back It’s a restaurant with 2 guest rooms above. The food was excellent: they had a steak deal on and it was no ordinary steak - i.e. really really good. £40 for 2 steaks and a bottle of wine. Also the crab starter was lovely as was the cheese for pud. The room was spacious, well furnished , clean with a large comfy bed. We got proper milk in a fridge, not UHT, and a brilliant continental breakfast was served in the room: consisting of granola, gooseberry and elderflower compote, pain au chocolat, toast, and organic strawberries. Oh and freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. It’a a nice village to explore too. And there’s a beer garden. Would most certainly stay there again.

I had booked two nights and was told that I had to be out of the room by 10.30 am after the first night, however I had to get ready for a wedding. The room had dropped in standards stained carpets, dirty drawers and stained cups. Bathroom not en-suite and only one dressing gown provided. Car park still not signed posted with it being on a one way system can be quite annoying. Some staff had a could not careless attitude.

Pros: Nicely furnished and decorated large room with reasonable-sized bathroom, and proper big towels! The breakfast was good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location in Ramsgate is great.
Cons: The bed had a very thick duvet on it which would be great for winter, but was way too thick for summer, especially with no A/C in the room, so I was very hot at night. I'd suggest providing thinner duvets or even just a sheet for warm summer nights. The car park was locked both nights I came back. Though there is a key at the hotel, it does mean an extra trip. I don't think there is much the hotel can do about this as the car park is shared with local residents. Lots of stairs and no lift so probably not an ideal hotel for those with walking difficulties.
7.5 Good
Pros: The bathroom, the breakfast.
Cons: Having to climb right to the top with walking stick. Only room with twin bed.

Pros: Breakfast was great on day one. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Great service. Room was cleaned. Sheets were changed.

Pros: Very good B&B. Room and bathroom immaculate and clean. Staff friendly and efficient and breakfast all fresh and locally sourced. Good location. Nice added touches (water in room, robes etc)
Cons: Parking difficult.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is a great find. Situated in a street leading to the beach front, practically next to Deal Castle. The whole property is tastefully decorated and our room had a comfortable bed with a huge bathroom with bath and separate shower. However, it was the proprietor’s attention to the small things in the room which were impressive, like a packed minibar fridge which included chocolate and bathroom products which included ear plugs!! The hot drinks machine (no dubious looking kettles here!) was fabulous, such choices! A tower fan had been placed in our room as the weather was hot.
Cons: Parking in the whole of Deal is not easy, so this property is no different to the majority of accommodations in that there is no private parking, however on street parking is fine providing you follow the regulations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice.
Cons: Everything was fine.

Pros: THE STAFF.
Cons: ALL OK.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very comfortable, friendly staff
Cons: No lift so too many stairs to room on top floor, restaurant menu had limited choice
8.5 Excellent
Pros: If you are at this hotel do not recommend top floors if your older as many sets of stairs.
Cons: I knew there was lots of stairs but I would have preferred to have known I was on top floor. If you go to this hotel and you are older I would suggest you don’t book room 10 11 12 and 13 .you pay extra for the balcony rooms They are the best so for a special occasion I would book one of those rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel, beautifully restored and furnished. Staff always ready to help. Excellent restaurant - best food I've had in the UK for some time.
Cons: Something must be done about the lights in the bedrooms and the way they are connected to the plugs by the beds.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was nice and comfortable but we woke up very hot in the night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The sea view room very comfortable. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good.
Cons: We were emailed after booking our stay , that a party was to be held that night at the hotel. Despite being two floors above the party venue, it was noisy from 7.30 until after midnight. It was a very hot and humid night , and because of the noise we had to shut our sea view window.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: The staff couldn't explain were to park, they send us to the side street were it's not allowed to park. Pubic hairs were found on clean bed sheets. Sink blocked because of silly plumbing, every time it needs touching the drain to let the water go. There also was no mixer taps. Building needs re plastering and restoration. Balcony was not safe to walk on, the boards seemed about to fall down and had no screws to secure them. Coffee in the morning was so strong that nearly gave us a heart attack. The noise from the main road was too great didn't allow to relax or sleep. For £330 per night we at least deserved a fridge that was not found in our best room, so all the food and drinks we had with us went bad. The furniture was so old and smelly we couldn't put our cloths in. There was no ironing board or blankets. Sofa was badly stained with questionable liquids or fluids. Gowns or slippers were not provided. We think the room doesn't cost more then £200 per night even because the princess Victoria stayed there.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, classy, good breakfast, and dinner was also excellent
Cons: Room is a bit small, and floor not level
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was fine with ample parking especially as I had a blue badge as did my family. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: I did find the lounge area that the furniture had seen better days, much better days. Ripped and torn. In the bedroom the light one side of the bed did not work and it looked like they had placed a table lamp as a replacement. the problem with that was that the switch for the table lamp was on the bulb holder, which was loose also one had to jiggle the bulb to get it to work as the bulb holder either from old age or poor repair was in a dangerous condition. Being an electrician myself I personally would have taken this lamp out of the room until a proper repair was done if I had been staying longer. I think the hotel was over priced and should have been more around the £125 especially as when I booked breakfast was not included and an extra cost would have been incurred. This is the first time I have encountered breakfast not included in the price and I have stayed at many hotels.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Very little
Cons: Furniture tatty, carpets very dirty and stained

Pros: Clean comfortable beds. Cheerful staff. Great location. Fab breakfast. A real gem.
Cons: A bit of a noisy toilet in the ensuite but understand it's an old building for plumbing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A nice breakfast and friendly staff always ready to help
Cons: The small shower cubicle and quite a small bedroom and toilet seat moving from side to side and small wash basin. One of our round of drinks was rather expensive at £9-30 for a pint of Cider and a dry Martinee and lemonade
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very central location. Food was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From booking in to leaving all was great. The lady at reception was very pleasant and informative. Pub was very nice and the gardens, wow, ive never seen such an array of colour and aroma in a pub garden. Loads of seating. Room was lovely and clean, plenty of coffee and tea sachets and biscuits, which is always a treat. I only stayed 1 night, in an adequate single room. I booked this hotel as it was a 3 minite walk for a friends wedding at the famous Guildhall, so didn't eat at pub, but what i saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious and all the tables were full. I had a full English (of course ) and it was hot a served on a very large plate. Delicious food. Cannot fault my stay and the price was exceptional. Highly recommend. Oh and free parking.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Size of en-suite door didn’t shut Very hard bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and breakfast was wonderful
Cons: nothing at all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, small but very comfortable, clean and tidy, with everything might be needed. Both me and Loki, my dog, loved it! The breakfast was a feast, tasty and with both english and continental, the staff was very kind, I loved being there and will be back for a longer stay. I also had dinner in the pub, that I highly recommend.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is good, very central. The hotel has a lovely garden and the restaurant food looked delicious, the breakfasts were great! Plenty of tea/coffee in the room with biscuits ! Richard was very helpful and sociable. We booked at very short notice and was really pleased with our choice
Cons: The shower was quite small but adequate for me although my husband of 6foot found it a bit cramped
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old pub in a quiet part of historical Sandwich. Comfortable, clean rooms, friendly staff, a lovely garden and great breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Kings arms is a lovely pub come small hotel/B&B. The food served at evening meal was great absolutely no complaints at all. I did not go to breakfast but would expect a good overall standard if the evening meal is anything to go by. The room was nice, old and clean with a small bathroom.
Cons: My only gripe, and it is rather a significant one given that the essence of a B&B or hotel is to provide a comfortable nights sleep. The bed is absolutely terrible, it was hard and quite possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in during all my travels. This was room 4. Without doubt the bed needs to be changed, it doesn't have to be extravagant, a normal run of the mill bed that offers some degree of comfort. Unfortunately the bed meant I had a terrible nights sleep. It is for this reason alone that I will not stay at the kings arms again, which is a shame as i like the place.

Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: 20 minutes walk to the city center and pier, easy to leave your car. Hotel has fun decorations and reminds you of the past (in a good sense). Beautiful garden as well.
Cons: Bed was a little skewed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and host
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location on bus route to town, parking definite bonus as parking very difficult in Deal. Beautiful rear garden really well kept, a really lovely old house. Nice breakfast freshly cooked, all linen clean and good quality. Hosts welcoming on arrival.
Cons: The room I stayed in was fairly small with double bed that looked years old so not very comfortable. The headboard was really badly stained with what looked like sweat so used spare sheet to cover it. The room also had mouldy smell probably as extractor from shower not great. Very old fashioned tired decor which was a shame as it really does spoil the very nice overall ambiance. I would not stay again unless rooms updated or recommend. Definitely not 5 star accommodation as advertised.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: For anyone with a car the location is fine - I choose it partly because it has guest parking and others in the centre do not - but it is quite a long walk to Deal Old Town. The decoration and style is wonderfully 18th century with lots of nice furniture, prints and lovely statues in the beautiful rear garden. Great attention to detail is shown throughout.
Cons: The kettle in the room was a bit shabby - but this is of no real importance as it worked perfectly well.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts were very good as were the owners very helpful and jolly
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel.
Cons: Good sized and clean room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, everything we needed in the room. We walked everywhere: to Walmer castle and into Deal. Although the hotel is on a main road, it was quiet at night. We spent an enjoyable half hour reading our books in the lovely garden
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay in this typical hotel

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly placed on the sea front lively pub and beautiful flowering basket display
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Almost none. Never come back.
Cons: 1.Surprisingly no hotel reception. Bar counter, which is busy with drinkers, is alternatively used for the hotel reception. 2. Seaside rooms are noisy facing a square where people drink, chat and play music 3. Footsteps above room annoys(I am the ground floor) 4.Room smells
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location could not have been better, right in the center of Deal and located at a lovely and lively little square. You have everything you need at your doorstep, staff was super friendly and the room spacious and clean. If you don't mind the busy pub life in the evenings I cannot image a better place to stay at for a couple of days in Deal!
Cons: It was quite loud until midnight (we were there on a Saturday and Sunday)- but knowing this is a pub one should not be surprised!
5.8 Okay
Cons: Very noisy late at night
9.5 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived we were given a room(Room 1) above the pub where there was live music which was extremely loud. The room was bouncing and noise was unbearable. When we spoke to the manager he immediately moved us to a room in the adjacent guest house. His response to our problem was exemplary. The room in the pub would have been fine except for the loudness of the music. The room in the guest house was exactly what we had envisaged. We would happily stay there again.
Cons: The room above the pub is very noisy if there is live music which apparently there commonly is at the weekend.
7.0 Good
Pros: Definitely can't fault the location. Being right on the seafront and near to all the local amenities makes for a very convenient place to stay. Great spot to stay over for work and the staff were all friendly and helpful. All the facilities in the room that you'd want (WiFi, TV, tea and coffee-making etc).
Cons: Wish I had known that booking directly with the venue means that you get breakfast included. Paying extra wasn't a big problem as the breakfast was brilliant but it would have been good to know!
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Only down side was live music in the bar below our room that went on until midnight. Made the floorboards vibrate so couldn’t sleep until it finished.
Cons: Live music beneath our bedroom until midnight.

When you stay at Royal Hotel in Deal, you'll be in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Dover Castle and Royal St George's Golf Club. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location of the Royal is lovely. See had a room overlooking the sea.
Cons: I like my coffee very hot, unfortunately it was lukewarm at breakfast The stairs are very sloped, maybe a good idea to mention this. It’s a very old building so we know floors wouldn’t be even.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious and comfy room
7.5 Good
Pros: Top situated direct on the sea front. Old Hotel with nice large rooms. Very nice seafront Restaurant. Food was good.
Cons: Floorboards creaked from room above because of the age of the hotel. Breakfast was not as good as described in the Reviews. A bit slap dash. Staff seemed very insecure at breakfast Service.
7.0 Good
Pros: The balcony rooms offer the option to enjoy breakfast within a few feet of the beach, or sip cool drink as the sun goes down. All the time, you are in the heart of Deal and all the quirky, fun hosteleries at your disposal.
Cons: This quirky historic hotel sits in a fantastic location right on the beach. Plumbing in this old building continues to present a challenge though and finding that it is not possible to alter the temperature of the shower and then finding there is absolutely no water for a number of hours simply needs to be taken in your stride! It's an irritant if you let it be, but I'll still return time and time again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. spacious, thoughtfully arranged. very central. Glad we upgraded to a room with our own terrace overlooking the beach. We had a grandstand view of the fireworks last night. The hotel was central, well designed. The sort of place that makes you go "Yes!" as soon as you get there. The staff were terrific. As I said to the manager, whoever is in charge of H.R. is brilliant at recruiting the right people.
Cons: The parking was the only issue - but anyone who's familiar with little English seaside towns just takes that on board and gets on with it. A small thing, more than outweighed by the rest of our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and obliging. The breakfast menu gave many interesting options, and added to the enjoyment of my visit.
Cons: Nothing.
