This is the perfect adults only. The hotel is gorgeous, every where you look you are looking at the magnificent ocean. Many beaches to chose from, gorgeous infinity pool and wonderful helpful staff.
Cambridge Beaches Resort is a beautiful property, where the landscaping and buildings are well maintained. There is a serenity in its ambiance and the staff are friendly and always ready to be helpful. My accommodations were clean and comfortable, if a bit dated. I rented a deluxe ocean view suite and the view was absolutely deluxe, a panorama of Long Bay and the ocean, which were about 50 yards away. The main beach on Long Bay is about 2-300 yards wide and you can walk out about 100 yards into the crystal clear water before it's deeper than your waist. They have beach staff there all day to bring you towels and set up your beach lounges and umbrella. The facilities are wonderful. An outdoor infinity pool, a heated (90*F) indoor pool, spa (too much chemicals), and various sports venues. And this brings me to the only moderately negative aspect of my stay....... the restaurants. The quality of the food is good, but not spectacular. What is spectacular is the prices. Bermuda is expensive in general, but I believe that this resorts food is unnecessarily so, i.e. $16.00 for a hamburger and fries. There are three restaurants. Tamarisk which is the most formal of the three. Shutters a less formal and more limited menu and Breezes, which was only open for lunch while I was there. At Tamarisk, the food was good, but the menu, which changes every night, read better than its execution and you will be hard pressed to eat for less than $40.00 per person. Shutters is the home of the $16.00 burger. Breakfast is included and is a plentiful buffet, similar to what you will find on a cruise ship. Looking past the cost of eating at these restaurants, while the quality of the food is acceptable, the service is inconsistent and sometimes nonexistent. That $16.00 burger took 45 minutes to make it to my table. Another night, I had an omelet that took 30 minutes and arrived dry and brown. I have probably spent too much times speaking of my eating experience. I don't want that to detract f...
Nice people, very relaxing, very out of the way, no kids just tranquility.
This resort/spa was glorious! Between the lovely welcome which included a warm towel and rum swizzle, to the afternoon tea, to the lovely and well-kept grounds, to the wonderful accommodations…I could not have asked for more. I almost want to keep this place to myself but it's just too good. I will also mention that this is the ONLY child-free hotel on the island and I wouldn't stay anywhere else if given a choice!
Just returned from a 'weekend' trip to Bermuda and stayed at Cambridge Beaches. What a beautiful resort! We had the pleasure of staying in one of the pool suites and were overwhelmed by the breathtaking view of the ocean from our suite-side (private) pool! If you are looking for a large modern busy hotel, this is not the place. CB is a beautiful resort with a number of cottages/suites spread across a large piece of property. When you realize that Bermuda has been around prior o 1609, you appreciate the history noted in this resort. You almost think that you are the only one on the resort until you meet up with others at the restaurant or bar(s). CB serves a delicious and very generous breakfast every morning in their signature outdoor dining room which shares a beautiful view of the harbor and infinity pool (there is no bad seat in the place!)The staff is extremely kind and gracious. They have a knack for making sure your needs are being met without being obtrusive. You certainly want to make reservations to dine 'on the beach' (literally inches from the water's edge) at Breeze's restaurant. The only drawback is that CB is at the far side of the island, so come prepare to pay for cab fare. Cab fare from the airport to the hotel cost approximately $50 US dollars. This is the perfect destination for couples who are looking to get away to a romantic destination and relax (would not recommend this place for families...adults only!) Bermuda is a beautiful clean island with very friendly people. Certainly dine at Four Ways Inn and Waterlot (very expensive....but worth the experience!)
Wonderful vacation which is all that counts. I chose Cambridge Beaches over other hotels because I wanted to go top of the line. i do not believe it is. (It might have beenin years past but property needs some improvements.) Room was nice. Staff is awesome. Dining Room and Breezes were very nice. Food was good. Property is a little isolated but Somerset is nearby and Dockyard is easy taxi ride.
I was very impressed with the welcome we received from the front desk upon our arrival at Cambridge. The room was lovely. It was very unique and clean. I was most impressed with the restaurant Breezes right on the beach. Not only was the food excellent but the staff was very personable. My husband and I both enjoyed getting to know the servers and bartenders. The hotel offered water sports and scooter rental right on the property which was very helpful as you are not allowed to rent cars in Bermuda and the taxis can be quite expensive. If you are looking for a place to stay that is peaceful and completed surrounded by nature then Cambridge Beaches will be perfect.
THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WHEN THE AIRLINES LOST MY LUGGAGE, THEY CALLED TO LOCATE IT AND GET AN ETA FOR ME. THE RESORT WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL MANICURED. THE ROOMS WERE VERY SPACIOUS, CLEAN AND ACCOMADATING. THE WHOLE STAY WAS SUPERB. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.
Our 4th trip to Cambridge Beaches. Absolutly beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Staff is fabulous and our room/suite was on a bluff over looking the ocean and beautiful sun sets. Spa staff is the best I have ever met. Swedish massage was outstanding. Stayed 3 nights and our batteries were reenergized to face the kids and work when we returned home.
We went to Cambridge for four days to celebrate our 10th anniversary, Aug 2011. It was beautiful, perfect & quiet. If you are looking for total relaxtion, and some time as a couple away from work & kids, this is the place. However, there is really no nightlife at all, but we enjoyed the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The infinity pool was fantastic with private areas to lounge. The beach was clean and lovely. Also, the spa was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. I even left a bracelet in the spa robe and didn't realize until the laundry had already been taken. When we returned from dinner, the bracelet was delivered to my room & returned to me by the helpful and honest staff. When booking our trip, my husband ordered a special private dinner on the beach for our anniversary, which was spectacular. We were nothing but happy the entire time we were there.
Our experience at this property was dismal. It was shown as a 5 star but was not even a 3 star property. The first room had dirty carpet, ants in the bathroom, an old tube TV and worn out furnishings. We switched rooms and although the second room was better than the first, it was not 5 star quality. The safe was rusty as was the shower curtain rod and the ironing board. Ants populated the sink area. The grounds were not well groomed. Very disappointing. We, along with a few others, decided to move to another property. It cost us several thousand dollars to do so but staying at Cambridge Beaches would not have been much of a vacation. If you decide to book here, just realize that this property is about a 3 star, regardless what ratings you see.
