After walking 20 miles, we were exhausted. Check in was easy. The lady did not speak English and my Spanish is not very good, but we were able to communicate. She was so nice and friendly! Loved her. There is a great Restaurant in this Hotel, no need to walk anywhere else. There is also a washer and dryer which she will show you how to use. Our room was larger than we were use to and the bathroom was very nice. There was a TUB!!! Yea!! We were able to soak our feet in cold water. There were 3 beds in our room as that was the last room available! There is an elevator!!! This hotel books up quickly!
Beds could be a little more comfortable, but many places we stayed had worse beds.
Staff person at reception was very accommodating and helpful, all staff were friendly and polite. Food in restaurant was good value for the Pilgrim meal.
The hostal was in a good location. We had a very enjoyable evening meal. The lady who served us breakfast was the most jolly staff member we met anywhere.
It was a bit noisy at night with outside traffic. We thought the breakfast was very overpriced and not nearly as good as what we had been getting elsewhere.
Proximity to the Camino. It was 5 miles from the Cathedral in Santiago and it was the only bed I could find after 15.5 miles of walking. I was very comfortable there but only because I was desperate. Walls were paper thin, could hear conversation in next room. But it was clean, the pilgrims meal was quite good and the nice young man at reception was helpful and spoke English.
Paper thin walls, as mentioned. Very old, dated furniture, but after walking 15 miles, who cares?
On the Camino around 6 miles from Santiago de Compostela.
Nothing we were happy with the set up.
