The service at the desk and in the restaurant. The waiterr was very professional. That there was a beach,a restaurant and a busstop nearby.
fiew, food I booked the half pension additionally and had to pay more as if I booked it right away. It was not much, but I didn't really understand that.Situated - no possibilty to do anything in the evening without using the car.
Excellent dining with beautiful view over Mediterranean, comfortable room with balcony view and easy access to nearby attractions.
The location - absolutely superb The staff were extremely helpful and courteous
Amazing views and area Needed to check emails whilst there - no internet access
Lovely big room with huge balcony and great views. Lovely restaurant staff and fabulous food. Too far from a beach- 400 steps down- not suitable for familes or older peopleor disabled.
Nice view on the ocean (not for the backyard rooms!); very clean; friendly staff
Didn't realize it was so far from La Spezia. It cost about 40 euros both ways but the people made our stay outstanding. need more info on the the ways to get from train station to hotel by taxi or bus.
The hotel is in a quiet location and within a comfortable distance to Lerici for access to Cinque Terra At the October time period there is little available in the area.
The staff were welcoming and the room was excellent
The location of Hotel Florida Lerici is perfect - right across the road from the beach. The terrace on the top floor is a great place to relax with a great view of the beach. There was plenty of variety at breakfast and our room was very comfortable, with a brand new bathroom and incredibly clean! I would highly recommend Hotel Florida Lerici.
friendly welcome - good English spoken - excellent position close to beach abd just 10 mins stroll to town - good arrangements for parking car
The location was great for walking to Lerici and San Torenzo on the promenade and viewing the sea.
location, friendly staff
location is very beautiful connecting rooms for 2 adults + 2 kids were small, but worked ok for one night stay
The hotel is beautiful with spectacular views across the gulf. The breakfast is copious and would satisfy most tastes, offering not only croissants but muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cold meats cheese, eggs etc. etc....
Excellent position opposite beach. entrance foyer and litting area very impressive The rooms did not reflect the rest of the hotel. The bathroom was dirty around the toilet area. Stale urine smells present.
The fact that few cars are allowed in the area. We could hear the waves from our room and had a great view. Also they honored my request for twin beds and a sea view The water pressure in the shower was weak and there was no tub.
view and facilities No but we did leave a walking pole in our room. If it could be returned to us we will gladly pay the postage and any other incidental expenses. Thank you John Gibson
Lovely location, quiet and relaxing hotel. Staff were usually very pleasant and helpful. Good choice of foods at breakfast. Stuffy smell in bedroom on returning there at end of day.
Great view (definitely I recommend a room with a sea view). Good food. Beautiful short walk to the town center.
the town was beautiful, hotel was superb, and I enjoyed the balcony overlooking the harbor. A delightful experience in every way.
the english breakfast buffet - it was excellent and the Parking near the hotel is very comfortable! The room: we have booked a "deluxe" double room with sea view. To our oppinion room Nr. 234 was not in this category. We had sea view, but the room was small and the bath room was really narrow.
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The views of Lerici and the Gulf of Poets are spectacular and fair compensation for some of the accessibility challenges to and from the hotel. The breakfast provided is one of the best I have had in Italy and the terrace provides a great location for an afternoon drink overlooking the bay. The hotel restaurant is quite good but rather expensive compared to other choices down in the Piazza Garibaldi. The hotel is difficult to access by vehicle. The road to the hotel is above it and you must carry bags down into the hotel lobby and back up when leaving. I would not recommend this hotel for someone with a disability that made climbing stairs difficult. Reaching the restaurants and shopping around the Piazza Garibaldi requires a shallow descent on path with 100 widely spaced steps. The return back up to the hotel may leave some a bit winded. Pack lightly if staying at the Doria Park!
We liked the very comfortable, individually designed, well-equipped bedrooms, loved the peaceful terraces with stunning views over the harbour and the Bay of Poets to the hills of the Cinque Terre and were impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The wonderful breakfasts more than lived up to their reputation and were available until midday, which guaranteed a relaxed start to the day. On the day we ordered melon and prosciutto for a light lunch it was stunningly presented and we enjoyed our evening meals too. The fresh fruit available in reception was much appreciated. We were very glad to have chosen a hotel with private parking, as parking in Lerici is not easy and we did not need the car much during our week's stay. We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant was closed in the evening on 3 of our 7 nights and that a couple of items we selected on the English menu were not available because the Italian menu had changed .We really couldn't recommend the jugs of coffee on the breakfast buffet, though staff were very willing to fetch coffees from the bar. It was good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom, though many English visitors would appreciate some milk too.
The staff was very friendly and they even gave us a free room update. The location is breathtaking. Do get a room with a view: it is well worth the extra money. Lerici is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Also, the restaurant at the hotel is really worth a visit. We had dinner there and were very happy with the excellent service and quality of the food. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet is very rich and diverse. You will not be disappointed. It could do with a little updating.
Great location for exploring the Cinque Terre; hotel is a 5 min walk from the ferry boarding point, restaurants and waterfront, yet in a quiet location. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable with a great balcony overlooking the harbour, breakfast was an interesting buffet assortment. Would recommend Lerici as an ideal point from which to explore this area. Beware that due to nature of the location, access to the hotel and walk back from the main square is via steep walkways and stairs; we had no problems but can understand other reviewers comments in this regard.
Very friendly, helpful staff. We were very glad we had followed advice and booked a deluxe room with sea-view. Although the hotel is built into the hillside and there are great views, it's only a couple of minutes walk down a pedestrian path to the Piazza. Great choice at breakfast. As other reviewers have said, it is difficult to find by car. You do need the online instructions and even then, we needed to do a couple of U-turns. The lack of any help offered with suitcases when checking-in was out of charcter with the service at all other times. This could be put right so easily and would improve the service rating at a stroke. Decoration is slightly old-fashioned but comfortable.
beautiful sea port view, wonderful breakfast and proximity to Cinque Terre mini bar wasn't working
The room was deluxe with a balcony and view of the town and beautiful bay. Excellent facilities, very clean and good breakfast. The place is almost impossible to find due to the lack of signage (and the low level of information available at the town's tourist information office and the hotel association's representative, neither of whom new exactly where the hotel was located in this very small town, and neither of whom could give directions for access with a vehicle.) Once we did arrive, there are no signs directing access from the car park to the lobby. One has to wander up and down steep stairs until arriving at reception; the desk is understaffed with one clerk constantly one the telephone handling bookings. Once we arrived, it took at least 35 minutes to get the key to the right room and to have someone help get our luggage from the car up to our room on the fifth floor. Finally, the lobby and public areas are very scruffy and worn out - they do not reflect the standard of the hotel nor of the excellent well-furnished room. Time for an upgrade to the reception area.
We had a seaview room with the bay literally lapping on the rocks right below our balcony. Beautiful view of the town. The staff was wonderful and obviously cared about the quality of our stay there.
As a small hotel they were very attentive to the guests. Great recommedations for dining. Upgrade mattress and bedding
Lovely to stay in a modern, comfortable hotel right on the water. For those who like to swim it is an excellent choice. Would recommend for Australians, it has a beach with sand. Very comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. Very different experience from the more historical Italian hotels, which we have also enjoyed, but nice to have a change. Good restaurants close by in the town itself and in Lerici, an easy walk.
I enjoyed the room with sea view just few meters from the sea with a rather unique location. The staff of the Hotel is very charming and welcoming. The position of the Hotel allows to enjoy the nice walkable way San Terenzo-Lerici. sky tv, cable internet, minibar and deckchairs on the balcony are available to enjoy a nice breakfast on the balcony. If you are looking for a large Hotel with large common areas you might be in the wrong place. It is a small hotel where all the space is devoted to rooms so do not expect more than hotel rooms. Breakfast and restaurant are available in the "Colombo" bathing establishment belonging to a separate management where you can also have a 25 euros dinner menu upon request. The offer of restaurants in the surroudings is large, try to avoid the most turistique place. "La Miranda" (Tellaro, Lerici) and "La Posta" (La Spezia) are good addresses to have a nice dinner. If you want to enjoy an exclusive beach go to "Fiascherino" at "Eco del Mare" beach (average price including lunch between 60-80 euros per person).
cheap price mutch noise between the rooms, but was quet in the nights.small room .poor breakfast-not easy to find with gps
Balcony, clean, view, peace and quiet a little of the beaten path
Very friendly and cosy hotel situated off the bitten tracks, but with normal comfort. And the low price caused by distance from cities (really nothing by car) is the strong point. The Italian breakfast and the narrow road from the main route are just things to be noted - not the weaknesses. 5 of 5!!!
ok for this price
The friendly assisstance given by the staff when I encountered a problem making an international phone call. The convenient location to the beach at Lerici. Parking was very limited & breakfast could be improved by using "fresh" baked items in lieu of pre-packaged.
view of mountains indoor decoration, breakfast,
Very good view from window Breakfast, because everything packed.
It is a very pleasant landscape around the hotel, it is quiet and very nice.
We stayed for one night only. Our intentions were to visit Cinque Terre and the hotel is close enough (10km) from La Spezia which was the starting point for our journey. It is located up in a mountain village and the view from the window was amazing. The breakfast was not one of the best, but this was compensated by the fact that we totally enjoyed our staying there. There is not many option to choose from for a dinner - actually there is only one ve-e-e-ery local place which closes around 22:00 so if you want to have a late dinner you should drive down to the closest village.
Good views Not convenient,noisy!
Parking adjacent, pleasant grounds, very clean, warm and all in working order None we could find.
Very nice, clean and quiet. All furniture and equipment was new and working. Comfortable room and kitchen. Nice big pool. difficult to find even with GPS. Bigger and brighter directing signs would be very helpful.
New and very nice place. Good room decor and design. Friendly personal. We liked it more than previous 4* hotel. Kitchen and about 300 meters to supermarket. I think, it was best place in our trip. Problem with search of hotel. Hard to find and sign isn't too bright...
wonderful brand new hotel with very beautiful rooms. kitchenette was very good, the building was great inside and out, and air conditioner saved whether it was hot or cold. simply excellent! was very tricky to find. gps doesnt know this street, google maps send to a different location which is 10 minutes away. had to call hotel staff and basically come and pick us up from the place we were at.
The views are amazing and the breakfast is very very good for italian standards! The hotel is on a hill top, hence the amazing view of the bay, however the access to the city centre is by foot and to be honest we are quite fit and young and we found it quite hard to go up and down those set of steps. It is worth it the views and the breakfast though! I would go back!
The Grand Europa was a marvelous hotel. It sits on the side of a mountain looking down on Lerichi and the bay. We had an especially panoramic suite with a balcony to drink coffee and tea provided with the room. Breakfast and lunch are available at the hotel, but for dinner, you must either drive or descend 158 steps to the square below. Climbing back presents a bit of a challenge, but my husband and I did it at least two times each day, and often three. The staff in the hotel were nice and eager to make our stay comfortable in every way. My husband and I drove across Northern Italy: Milan, Genoa, Camogli, Lerici, Pisa, Bologna, and Verona. Our experiences at Europa Grand in Lerici, Camoglia, and Bologna were outstanding! Elevators are quite small, but they seem to be small everywhere in Italy -- so it's not such a problem.
Excellent breakfast None
Stunning view from the breakfast terrace... Loved it! Breakfast buffet was fantastic, one of the best I've ever tried. Hotel staff very kind and helpful. Room was nice but not what we were expecting from a superior room. Only one robe provided. A bit noisy.
The view from the room was fabulous with the town and it´s facilities an easy walk away.
Breathtaking views. Helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast. The steps down to the town are hard work but well worth it. Room was great with very comfortable bed and wonderful view from the balcony. It was a shame dinner was not offered at this hotel (possible at its sister hotel I think), as the breakfast room/terrace was beautiful and not everyone wants to walk back down all the steps again for dinner.
The staff are careful and knowledgeable. The hotel is situated above the city in an area which is green and rural but with convenient and easy access to all the attractions. This hotel is attractively furnished and very comfortable. An excellent breakfast is served in attractive surroundings.
It was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Can't think of anything.
The friendliness of the staff, the views, the breakfast, the town of Lerici I'm a big fan of air conditioning, and considering how hot it was in Italy in August, the ac could have been colder. Not a major drawback though
Wonderful breakfast on a beautiful terrace with sea and gulf view, modern and comfortable rooms, really great staff. Position is panoramic but a bit difficult to get to town and beach
Location was very good. Close to areas of outstanding natural beauty and also beaches and marinas.
The hotel staff was very nice and went out of their way to be helpful to us.
It's location was perfect for my business trip, meaning I did not have long distance to travel after breakfast. Although the rooms are clean, it is quite a basic hotel. I would not use the word luxury to describe it.
Nice and clean rooms, we had one with two small balconies where we ate dinner, since our little kid was asleep at the time. Great pool and a playground in the backyard. Location is in the middle of low houses and you have no view other than towards the pool.
Quiet hotel but well situated
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Beautiful area outside with very clean pool. Walking distance to the beach. The room was spacious and clean.
Peacefullness and high quality. Excellent service and restaurant. Also gluten-free diet possible. The beds were a little bit too hard.
Near to Cinque Terre, nice swimming pool, friendly and helpfull staff, big family room, nice restaurants in the neighbourhood Breakfast could be better; less sweet cakes and and more choices in bread and/ or sandwich filling like cheese etc.
Nice spacious room for two adults and two kids. Kid friendly hotel. Nice swimming pool. Closed perimeter. Friendly staff. No extra costs.
Stuff hospitality outstanding. Absolutely fitted expectations and corresponded to the purposes imposed. Calm place. Perfect for those who dont like big noisy cities. In relative proximity to tourist POI (Pisa 59 km). 5 minutes from seaside. Nice pool in the hotel. Some complications with places on the nearby private beaches during the daytime. Nice to have own foldable chairs and umbrella.
Staff are very friendly and helpful indeed Clean comfy rooms with a very good view a bit far from major tourist attractions, you would definitely need a car.
The pool. The breakfast. The fresh crisp bedlinen and clean bathroom. The staff were kind and attentive, thank you for a lovely stay. I thought the lunch (salad and club sandwich and bottle of water) was a little overpriced at 23 euros. There were no guest reviews to read.
the staff....the best i ever seen the price seen a little to big
Really kind manager / staff, hotel located closed to the beach Not the best furnitures / rooms, but regarding to the paied prices it is more than okay
Location, Kind staff, The breakfast could be improved with more variety of food, having the opportunity to eat otside would be nice too..
Extremely friendly and helpfull staff and a very good restaurant. A very stylish and relaxing place. The location was a bit remote (closest city 5 km) and a car would have been useful.
Large swimming pool. Really spacious rooms. A 4-stars hotel without internet access or even a photocopier? One of our rooms smelled not really clean, and had a lot of mosquitos (not much in use?). The other room was ok.
A well designed building ( and rooms), helpful staff and good atmosphere.
friendly helpful owner, very good evening menu, lovely pool, good location for beach and near sarzana an amazing old town
Personnel very kind, hall with some interesting design features. Check in clerk inexperieneced didn't know where our room was an once it was found as it was outside a terace he locked the terrace window and left us locked out! Poor breakfast, not really value for money.
It was a perfect stay! The rooms were lovely, very individually decorated with antique tuscan furniture, the bathrooms were gorgious... everything was very clean. High quality breakfast was served on the terrace. The staff was extremely nice and helpful - our special thank you to Fabio, who contributed in making our stay so particular. We had a wonderful evening with wine tasting and great food. The estate produces great white wines. We highly recommend "La Ghiaia" to all conoisseurs. Being close to the cities of Sarzana and La Spezia the resort offers lots of possibilities to discover the beautiful Cinque Terre and the famous "Golfo dei Poeti". We will certainly come again...
Location of the hotel is very natural, in the middle of a wine area. The hotel produces its own very delicious wine . Hotel is a good starting point to discover the surrounding. Regrettably, there was no opportunity to have lunch! Only if requested one day in advance. Staff explained, that a little restaurant is planned for the future...
Nice room in lovely setting The rain!!
The Tenuta La Ghiaia (Resort La Ghiaia) was simply fantastic! Fabio was so friendly and helpful. He gave us a wonderful tour the wine making facility and a very nice wine tasting afterwards. Fabio also gave us some wonderful recommendations for dinner and places to see outside of Sarzana. We were able to experience the area as locals do, which is exactly what we had in mind. The resort was quiet and peaceful and the scenery was beautiful. Staying here made me want to relocate permanently to Italy!
small place, quiet, only six suits. very intimate, nice open view. big room nice design. espresso machine in the room.. late breakfast , start only at 8:30
