Pros: Very friendly staff & great big room for the money, 2 x 7/11's only up the road & good breakfast
Cons: Need to be careful at night walking up the small soi to the hotel for dogs but its not the hotel fault
Pros: Friendly staff. Spacious and clean rooms. Quiet location. Free drinking water and bananas. Free laundry. Really worth the money. We would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Staff is very friendly.
Cons: Breakfast is only egg and bread.
Pros: Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, location was great, and hosts were very friendly!
Pros: Everything! No reason for critic. Bed was big and very good, for a price of 450 Thai baht pr night. I will be there every time i have to go to Laos!
Cons: There are nothing to write on this issue! Maybe language, but i make it OK with the staff.
Pros: Very home like feeling. Very friendly people that go above and beyond to make you feel special. Coffee on tap and bananas were awesome. They opened up for me very early, without complaining. Even offered me free breakfast.
Pros: The Joli guesthouse staff were so sweet and kind. There was a slight language barrier but nothing where there was a serious problem with communication. Even with the language barrier, the staff was still constantly smiling and trying their best for all of us to understand each other!
Pros: Fantastic hosts, super friendly, spotlessly clean everywhere. Included in the price, you get unlimited water, bananas provided throughout the day, unlimited tea and coffee, breakfast and if you stay for 3 nights, laundry is free. Clean towels are provided daily. WiFi worked better at off peak times.
Cons: Nothing to report
Pros: The owner was lovely and very helpful with ordering a tuk tuk.
Cons: The air conditioner didn't work properly. We had ants in our room but there was insect repellent on the landing that we used to spray the room.
Pros: Friendly staff, drinking water, coffee, tea and bananas available all the time. Mini cosmetics in the bathroom. Hot water. The employee got up earlier to prepare breakfast for us.
With a stay at Pilgrim's Kitchen & Inn in Savannakhet, you'll be 11 mi (17.7 km) from Mukdahan Provincial Courthouse and 11.3 mi (18.2 km) from Mukdahan Municipal Park. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location was good. The food was good as well.
Cons: 3% charge on the credit card payments.
Pros: It is a nice, small hotel in a central location in Savannakhet. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant downstairs is particularly good (although it seems to be closed on Sundays). Rooms are clean and comfortable, although not a lot of natural light, but definitely a comfortable spot for a few days in town.
Cons: There was nothing particular, I just tend to like natural light and the room was a little dark, but this wouldn't be a reason not to stay there.
Pros: This is my third time staying at the Pilgrim's Kitchen & Inn. The room was comfortable and has modern ammenities. Great menu options and and the food is made to order. For breakfast I choose the bacon, egg and cheese bagel it was delicious. However, there are healthier options (fresh fruit, granola & yogurt bowl). A real plus is the roasted in house coffee. Many great options for lunch and dinner as well. The staff is extremely attentive, professional and helpful. Located in the historic 'Old Town' area many shops, night market, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. Highly recommended.
Pros: The staff are very friendly, Mexican food is amazing and the Indian food is a must try. Recommend staying here if you are doing a visa run
Cons: Everything was excellent
Pros: The location was perfect! The variety of food was also exceptional and all the people who work there are so welcoming! I highly recommend!
Pros: The location Washington quiet good. The breakfast and thé coffee. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. The room and the bathroom were very clean.
Cons: One of our room was without window and it was very inconfortable and the other one had a share bathroom. We thought that we can take our breakfast the sunday but it was impossible and we have to go in a other place No laofood in the restaurant.
Pros: As a family of 4 we booked two rooms, still really cheap to do that. Both rooms had double beds, bathroom, AC, kettle. One had a window the other didn’t. That didn’t matter though as you have use of a lounge area with fridge and door to balcony. ( we had rooms 4&5). The staff were amazing and the food was outstanding.
Pros: The staff food accommodation bed everything was excellent. Great value. I met the owner an American lady who greeted me very friendly. I travel a lot and do not always leave feedback This accommodation I highly recommend
Cons: I had to leave
Cons: My room , didn’t have a fridge, didn’t have a mini bar, as advertised on booking . Com No window in the bedroom, the air con didn’t work, found out two hours into me trying to sleep, the batteries were dead in the remote
Pros: I had a great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great, especially the Indian curry and the nachos! They are roasting coffee on site which smells amazing. They conveniently had bicycles and motorbikes for rent. When I needed documents printed the staff helped me right away. My room was very quiet and I got lots of rest. The aircon and shower both worked great-- it was super hot that week so that really made a difference. Thanks very much.

Guests are provided with free coffee as well as a variety of teas. Simply furnished with local decorations, each wooden bungalow comes with a fan, a seating set on the balcony, and a shower. For guests' convenience, Sala Thongyon has luggage storage and safety deposit box services. This refreshing property is 2.3 km from Savannakhet Bus Station and 3 km from Savannakhet Airport. Pros: Lovely staff egzotic place.
Pros: The place was beautiful. Lovely host.
Pros: Great atmosphere, very nice and friendly owner, beautiful garden setting. Absolutely recommendable.
Pros: The garden. The Bungalow. The tranquility.
Pros: Totally unsophisticated with great people and an eco-friendly mood that I find attractive. Hope I can visit there again sometime.
Pros: The place was spacious enough, even though I booked a small room I was given a big one without any extra fees. I was welcomed with a bottle of cold water and a clean towel. The owner spoke English and it was easy to communicate with her. I was able to smoke conveniently just outside my bungalow. The garden and the whole property was very beautiful, felt close to the nature and authentic local lifestyle.
Cons: The place was rather far away from the bus station and the consulate (approx. 40 mins by walk from the bus station). If you're not willing to walk extensively, be prepared to use tuk-tuks.
Pros: Takcare so good
Pros: I really enjoyed my time at Sala Thongyon. My bungalow was clean, cosy and relatively cool, thanks to an efficient ceiling fan. The bathroom was really good, the bed comfortable, and the reading light just the right brightness. I had two good breakfasts here, and enjoyed the peaceful garden from the porch of my bungalow. The place is conveniently located to most points of interest in the city, simple restaurants and other services. But I must really applaud the owner of Sala Thongyon and her family, who are lovely and warm people who made me feel welcome. The owner is a friendly lady who used to work as a nurse and midwife and trained them as well, and she also has a great interest in traditional Lao herbs and their uses in treating ailments. This proved to be a lucky coincidence as I was dealing with a stomach upset, and she made me an effective tea from a climbing plant called Thunbergia laurifolia which calmed the affected area and complemented the medication obtained from a pharmacy. She has a very good level of English, is happy to converse with her guests about lots of things, and has lots of useful information about the area for her guests. All in all, I highly recommend this place.
Pros: Nice people here, nice coffee. Great place peace and greens, location is close to night market, 2km to the bus station and near to the Mekong.
Pros: * Very friendly and helpful staff. The owner speaks English; She helped us by giving directions about the location to tuk tuk driver late at night * Very fast late check-in * Car to the bus station was very reasonably priced * Nice wooden bungalow and garden * Less than 10 min drive from/to the main bus station for taking the bus to Vientiane
Situated in Savannakhet, 11 km from Thai - Laos Friendship Bridge 2, Savan Cafe features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge. The property offers bike hire and features a garden and terrace. An Asian breakfast is available each morning at the hostel. Guests at Savan Cafe will be able to enjoy activities in and around Savannakhet, like cycling.
Pros: The building is nice
Cons: The staff is absolutely terrible. Can't speak English and even if you use google translate they won't help
Pros: The beds were really fluffy. And they were really good
Cons: I thought the breakfast were already included. But there is an extra charge. Well, its ok though.
Pros: Modern loft hostel with very comfortable beds. Tasty cafe, but the prices are comparable to thai
Cons: Quite clean, but I think it is quite new and thats why still clean. I hope the family will take care of it more.
Pros: The beds were very comfortable. Roof top area was nice. Lovely styled interior.
Cons: You weren’t assigned any bed or locker which lead to confusion with some guests. One guest went out for the day and returned to find someone else in their bed. Another guest was moved twice in the one night to accommodate groups. This happened to be the same night they didn’t have towels for a number of guests. Nothing soul destroying but could definitely do with more organization.
Pros: Nice atmosphere. One of the best mattresses I slept on in south east Asia!
Cons: Of the 6 toilets only 1 was clean and working
Pros: Amazing beds!! Best I’ve had at a hostel in SE Asia! AC works great (as long as your roommates don’t turn it off in the middle of the night). Super clean! Separate toilets, showers and sinks so no waiting at for the bathrooms. Rooftop is nice to sit and chill. Across from the night market so close and easy street food. Great wifi.
Cons: There isn’t much to do in Savannakhet but that’s not the fault of the property
Pros: Location, not much to do in the town but it’s near by the river and has a nice rooftop, outsiders are allowed to use it though and my room with no lock was nearby, so I got worried of someone going in and stealing stuff.
Cons: Room had no key, it didn’t lock. Lockers were available but no locks and website didn’t mention to take one, very small lockers anyway. Very little English
Pros: the female dorm was nice and clean and the bed are super comfy. view from the roof is nice. location is a min walk from the night market and lin's cafe.
Cons: booked a female dorm, got placed in a mixed dorm and had to go change which was difficult. the mixed room was dusty and gross and the bottom bunks look up to the mould along the bottom of the top bunk. also guests and are allowed to be loud, smoke in the place and not have any regard for others. not too safe with no locking of doors from other guests
Pros: You cannot expect more for that price
Cons: The staff Is very bad, not helpful At all And rude manners, in The 6 px room the air con wasn't working, The toilet Is damaged And There were Spider nets on the roof

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Pros: Friendly staff, really accommadating
Pros: It was as nice as any casino I ever been to. Free breakfast, 100 thb all you can eat buffet. Close to Thai consulate general, close to Thai border. Rooms over looking casino floor have dark tinted glass so unless you look at the time you will think it's always dark.
Cons: A 200 thb voucher at the casino should represent 200 thb. Ergo if you place a bet and win, you get 400 thb. Not 200 and they remove voucher. They just dont understand the voucher system.
Pros: Good location
Pros: It was away from the town.
Pros: Beds were hard
Cons: Breakfast and the beds
Pros: This hotel provides free airport transfers
Cons: The shower knob was missing and hot water couldn’t be controlled
Pros: High quality room, very inexpensive price. Excellent check in and check out staff. One restaurant employee (Prapas was his name) made a point of inquiring about our satisfaction at every meal. He provided comment forms and took our suggestions seriously. Free airport transportation.
Cons: No swimming pool. In a tropical climate such as this, it would seem to be a necessity, especially for non-gambling family members. Difficult to find location when driving in. Should improve signage. Once new road is completed, this problem should improve.
Pros: Massage had a 50 per cent discount, free shuttle service to airport was a nice surprise.
Cons: Breakfast was lousy, facilities were quite worn out and refurbishment should be made.
Pros: I found out that this place is great for gamling i have a good time at Casino and it’s 24 hrs. Front staff is friendly and always be there for help.
Cons: The Wifi in the room is very very poor we can not make a internet call but still type just fine. I reccomed that the security should co-op with front office if there is a guest at the front door they should come to greet and help us about luggages.

Cons: The bathroom is too small. The main room is huge so why not have a bigger bathroom?
Pros: Missed breakfast both days so dont know
Cons: No dislikes it was all ok
Pros: Key location right next to the bus station. Some pretty good restaurants and coffee shops near by. Spacious, modern and clean room. Good breakfast selection.
Cons: There was something wrong with the air conditioning. I had it set to 16C and just about managed to sleep. Under normal circumstances I should be freezing in that temperature within an hour.
Pros: Room was excellent +++
Cons: No vegetarian breakfast option
Pros: Quiet room. Comfy bed. Small swimming pool.
Pros: Big room. Good location.. Free breakfast. Friendly staff. Refrigerator. Comfortable bed...
Cons: Slow Wi-Fi.
Pros: Spacious room, good to stay for one day
Cons: Wi-Fi very poor in my Family room, better connections you can find in the lobby or restaurant.
Pros: Nice, clean & tidy little hotel with very friendly staff.
Cons: For an elderly like me, walking up the long flight of staircase several times a day got to be an issue. The staff managed to change my room to the ground floor when it became free after two days- - which was very kind of them.
Pros: 1. They accepted Thai Baht and not Kips (Kips can't be sold). 2. Close to the consulate. 3. The room was large and the air conditioner worked well. 4. The food was good and cheap.

Pros: staff are friendly
Cons: bathroom is not clean breakfast is so limited not good coffee
Pros: Only the location is nice.
Cons: The maintenance of the room is so poor.
Pros: The rooms were very clean and the staff was very helpful. Pool area was nice but the pool bar was not open
Cons: There was no bar area to have a casual daytime or evening drink
Pros: The staff were very, very helpful and friendly, concerned that I had a god stay and going out of their way to ensure I was safe and comfortable when travelling around. It is well located and planning to return with my spouse in the near future
Cons: Limited food offering. The hotel team were helpful, but the offering was limited.
Pros: Very beautiful garden and swimming pool, hotel staff is very friendly. Free shuttle bus service is very good.
Pros: The staff were typical of Lao people. They were so lovely and so helpful all the time. Big love to all those lovely helpful staff
Cons: Not within walking distance of anything and transport quite expensive I chose this place because of the gym and swimming pool. The gym is not up to standard at all. Of the 6 exercise bikes, 5 had broken pedals and were not usable. Only one pair of dumbbells and these are the home user type that you have to change the weights everytime depending on your exercise. No fan or AC in the gym. Also doesn't open until midday The pool is nice but the o e evening we had time to use it, the operator mysteriously turned everything off and went home early. None of the staff knew why and no o e knew how to turn the lights n jacuzzi back on which did seem quite surprising
Cons: 3km from town, not 300 metres as listed. No shops or food nearby. Charged 120 baht more than advertised price.
Pros: The food
Cons: The wifi not good, and no aircon in lobby
Pros: Location, facilities and friendly staff
Cons: Lovely hotel but needs a face-lift and more customers
Pros: Place was big, although creepy when you are about the only guest.
