staff was good, the place was clean, adequate free parking. Rooms were quiet despite being 1/4 mile from the busiest freeway in the world. the decor. oldy-worldy dark wood furniture, heavy red drapery, wrought iron lighting fixtures, the same ship in a stormy sea print in every room. what is the point?
Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hot tub was up and running even during inclement weather. Extremely clear water and a great temperature. Perfect after a day of work! No complaints!

The Pacific Inn is a gem along the PCH and a great value for a hotel near the ocean. Seal Beach is a great little walkable town, and you're only minutes from other beach cities. The open air courtyard with pool and hot tub are nice amenities. Rooms are spacious and the staff is super friendly.
The hot water for the shower did not work so I had to take a cold shower.

Action packed Main Street is just around the corner. You could easily get to the beach from the hotel. Resturants to fit your budget are all within walking distance.
Location is great; short walk to beautiful Seal Beach and short drive to plenty of shopping and eateries. The bed was super comfortable! Staff was friendly and helpful, and great at keeping everything clean. The pool and hot tubs were well kept. Breakfast was decent and I appreciated the assortment. The wifi was fast and reliable!
Room was new, breakfast options were excellent, close to the beach, pool is nice Hiccup at check-in. Booked through Kayak - sent an email 24 hours before to confirm room, which I did. Got an email around 1pm that the room would be all ready by 3pm. Arrive at 3:10pm, desk attendant spent 10 minutes looking over a list trying to find an available room. No room available - showed them the email and was told, "that is the internet service you booked with. We have nothing to do with that email" - what??? Upgraded me to a King "executive" - not sure what was different other than it was on the backside of the hotel facing a park rather than the street, Room looked 'new'.
The location was great - within walking distance of the water and many great restaurants.
The workers were kind. The first two days/night the heater didn't work. They just gave us extra blankets. The second night the toilet was clogged and they couldn't find anyone to fix it till the next day. They just put towels around the toilet on the floor. The third day we changed rooms. That room had a working heater and toilet but was dirty with stains all over the carpet.
i really enjoyed my stay with pacific inn. it was newly remodeled and very comfortable. staff was friendly. it was extremely quiet. everything was very clean. they provide bottled water, coffee and cookies in the lobby. i really enjoyed my waffle in the continental breakfast. the women who cared for the room for breakfast was friendly and efficient. overall nice stay. ps pool was nice and so was hot tub. will stay again if in the area. 1st night was on 3rd floor.room redone. 2nd night. we was on 2nd floor our room need a remodel but still comfortable.
We were so happy to discover this gem of a hotel after a last minute change of travel plans on our recent trip to Southern California. Everything about our stay was excellent, especially the delightful staff at the front desk. Our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast, superior. We would not hesitate to return - or to recommend it to others.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast area was large. The breakfast had the usual food but with plenty of it. The reception had only one person during evenings and no one else to help in issues with house keeping or maintenance.

Cool old ship. It's old ship, so the rooms are a bit old and not exactly sparkling clean. But the real issue is the Dark Harbor, haunted house event that goes on in October. We were not informed till arriving that are room would be adjacent to this raucous event. From 7pm until 1 am in the morning, extremely loud music, screaming, grass breaking and roaring gas flame would shoot off. It's criminal that the Queen Mary would rent rooms next to this mess. Oh but the front desk gives out cheap ear plugs, so that makes it all better.... not. We were on our one year anniversary and needless to say, were extremely disappointed and frustrated,
I enjoyed the history, as the ship is a museum. I also enjoyed the scariness of it. I caught orbs in my room, B505, and it was spooky. I enjoyed the feeling of being on a ship and the sights from the decks. I don't know if the rustic feel is part of the theme but it seems as if it could use some maintenance.
There was no hot water in the shower. I told the staff I was sick and needed my room right away and they didn't really seem to care.
I loved the feel of the golden age of ocean liners onboard. My girlfriend and I decided to stay the night before our cruise on Carnival the next day, which is conveniently located next to the ship. I wish more areas were open to guests such as the 1st class pool and grand ballroom.
I love the concept of The Old Ship and the stateroomsecond as well as it being right on the water. The front desk staff was really rude. He just had an attitude the whole time and didn't want to accommodate us. We thought that we booked a room with two queens but it only had two twins and he was just very snobby about it. The rooms were very hot the air conditioner barely worked. I feel for the price it is not worth it. If they are charging over $200 a night, that's including tax, there needs to be a lot more luxury to the hotel. The toilet did not flush very well in the bathtub was uneven. It really needs a facelift.
Unique and different. Good food although pricey as well. Lot's of things to do and see. Lot's of channels in room. Bed a bit small... We went during a special event and spent extra for the winter "chill" event. avoid at all costs. totally overpriced for what you get. Most disappointing part of our trip.
What I like is the history about the Ship and the Location. I understand that there is an investment proyevt to improve the condition of the ship, incluían Public Areas and Rooms. Great view from the Decks. A lot of Potential to be a nice lace that was before. Get the Ship back in good shape and not just take advantage of the name! (This is for the Operators) My room was M216 I did not like the conditions of the room. It was not clean! No mentioned in the reservation that will be inside room! Big difference! Items were really old and rusty mainly in the Bathroom! Shawrr door, one light bulb missing, the chain of the lock at entrance door broken, I went to get ice and the bucket had brown water with a plastic bag!! And the door of the Air Conditioning, which was above the bed was showing further prints All over in a white door! The hotel should not rent this rooms anymore!

It's a cool, old cruise ship. It's kind of a tourist destination in itself. Also, it's really close to the helipad if you're taking the helicopter to Catalina. Overall, the boat felt old and empty and dingy. The bathroom looked a little dirty —probably just age—and there were lightbulbs missing from some of the fixtures in our room. I wanted it to be like stepping back in time, but that wasn't the experience on a weekday. Maybe weekends are better?

The ship was a grand experience! Love the history lots of things to explore. The beds were comfortable! I liked the original fixtures in the room. I can only image the people long ago entering the rooms and using the ship! Food was good! We ate in The Chelsea Chowder House and Bar. Slightly priced but the food was excellent and service was outstanding!!! Paying for the use of the WIFI And parking that seems odd to me because back east those items are free?! Other thing drove nuts--the walls seemed to be paper thin the 3-women in the cabin next to us were so loud!! It was a joy when they left the room or went to sleep!!!! However I understand that would not be an issue when the engines would be humming at sea!!
The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.

I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
Impressive, grand entry, airily quick check-in, comfortable beds, clean shower Music at the bar was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. In addition the check-in attendant never told me details, such check-out time or that a continental breakfast was included ( I had to ask the next morning). They seemed rushed and ready for the next customer. Another issue was non-smoking on a designated non-smoking floor. I smelled smoke as I slept and saw butts on the carpet in the hallway. Lastly, breakfast was limited to toast, cold cereal, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs.

I liked the pool, room size, little market downstairs with reasonable prices, location to where I was going and the feel of the hotel. There is a mini refrigerator that you can fill up. I like the concept, instead of an overpriced minibar. The front desk was confused as to when breakfast ended. (We were told 8am which is ridiculous, but it was actually 9:30.) we missed a few days due to thinking we missed it. The carpet and little features could be updated, but for the most part it was clean. We would stay again.
The hotel is centrally located and six minutes from the airport, making it a great choice if you've an early morning departure or late night arrival. Our room was very quiet. The Marketplace was great for snacks and provided a good selection of tasty foods. The staff was friendly and the bed comfortable. The parking fee of $22-24 per night seems excessive for a suburb like Irvine which is pretty much made of concrete, shopping malls and parking lots. The sink drain didn't work properly, one of my pet peeves in a hotel in any price category and unexpected in this type of hotel.

I had a problem with another room being extremely loud and disruptive,, the front desk and security took care of the situation, quickly. Also, the GM comped my valet charges...still not what I expected from a hotel like this.
I stayed a long weekend here with my friend and the lovely people at hotel Irvine really made us feel like welcome guests! From the complimentary bikes, to the Friday night movie on the lawn, to the friendly and delightful staff, every minute here was relaxing and stress-free. My friend has severe food allergies which the staff graciously and professionally worked arround for her. It really meant a lot to be able to enjoy my mini-vacation knowing that everything we needed was being taken care of. Thank you so much!

The "Check In" staff was wonderful, helpful, and made me feel welcome. The rooms were comfortable and I will mostly likely stay here again when I visit Long Beach, CA. The hotel is in a great location prior to cruising and/or enjoying the beach. Even though my parking fee was waived, I hope free parking becomes a standard practice.

one of the most amazing experience to stay at the host hotel for the long beach marathon. the hotel made sure that the guests who stayed at the hotel who participated in the events will receive a mini brown bag w/ goodies for the race. room did not come w/ a mini refrig nor any mini bar
Went through Kayak to purchase this room. Kayak seemed to think it was a 4 star. It is it not a four star, 2.5 to 3. Took 25 minutes to check in with only one person in line ahead of me, mold in the shower, shower was over all dirty and old, room was stuffy the whole time I was there, parking was 26.00, which is NOT advertised, found out when I got there, Internet was 14.95, which I was advised of that when I arrived although my receipt showed a king size room - Internet. My fault for assuming that if was included. won't stay here again, especially for the rate that I was charged. Hmmmm... Large bath towels

Nice area to behind the hotel to walk. Larger room size Service was somewhat lacking. I stayed 3 nights. My room was never serviced by the cleaning crew after I checked in. Mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. Hotel nickel and dimes for everything. Self parking was $22 a night. Hotel Concierge wanted to charge me an additional $20 a night when I (a solo traveller) requested a king bed upon arrival instead of two queens, even though the hotel was half empty and the published rates of the king rooms were $35 less a night than the nightly rate I had paid for my stay.
Breakfast was very expensive, but also very good. No fridge, no ice machine on my floor, very dirty bath tub, uncomfortable bed, no outlets by mirror, outlets by bed did not work,
The staff was very helpful and nice. The price was high for what you get at the hotel. I have stayed in very nice hotels that offer a more luxurious feel. Also, there were protesters there outside the main entrance almost every morning around 0700. You could easily hear them and it was quite obnoxious.
The hotel itself was beautiful, and edgy. Everything was an additional charge and expensive. I've stayed in NY and never thought i'd see pancakes sold at $15. I also would expect a hotel to include wi-fi. Water for $5???

Booked online for a room with a double bed. Reservation confirmation after booking the reservation snuck in "double or king." When we arrived at the hotel, there were no rooms with double beds and not even any rollaway beds. So I canceled the reservation. Kayak may not be the responsible provider, but when the website option selected is room with double beds and that's the primary reason for my selection of the particular hotel, they better have that kind of room available to backstop my booking. Otherwise, it's false advertising. I will think twice before using Kayak again to book a hotel room.

Marriott hotels have always been an enjoyable experience. The room, location and overall stay was very nice. The in room dining as well as pool service staff was beyond slow. The drinks by the pool had a 30 minute ticket time and I had to call in room dining 6 times before my what was supposed to be surprise order of champagne arrived. I'm in the industry as well and understand things get busy. The in room dining gave us some strawberries as an apology for the delay which was nice but th pool staff did nothing to appease everyone's clear annoyance with the slowness of service. It wouldn't deter me from returning necessarily but it does make me question the hiring process at this location. Not only was the pool staff slow, the gentleman had the personality of a shoe.

The staff is VERY sweet and helpful. Great location. Valets were SO SWEET! Extremely clean. My ONLY problem was I reserved TWO DOUBLE BEDS. I brought my 15 year old daughter and her best friend For a one night getaway. I received an am txt that our room would be ready at 4pm.. So we went to fashion island for fun lunch at Lemonade And some shopping. When we went to check in.. At 4pm.. I was told That they had over sold and our room had one king bed. In my reservation I specified THREE PEOPLE! I feel like I got bumped cuz I reserved thru kayak... Paid less. They brought up a HUGE rollaway That took up half the room. We couldn't even make room for it.. So we all 3 slept in one bed. Not the end of the world.. But I would have appreciated better communication. Beautiful hotel and we had a lot of fun.

The views, particularly at night. It was undergoing renovation of one of the towers. Some noise etc. associated with that although it stopped by 5 pm. The staff at the restaurant was really terrible when I had a late lunch. I have stayed there before and enjoyed good service, but it was quite bad on this trip. I waited for at least ten minutes while waiters walked by me and waited on tables seated after I was. There were only 6 or so tables total as it was late afternoon. At one point my waiter talked to the table next to me about personal matters for about ten minutes and then walked off without coming by my table or refilling my water. My experience with all other staff was excellent. The restaurant staff is entirely responsible for the Okay rating.
We (either spouse and/or kid) have stayed here at least once a year and have watched it undergo many improvements, it is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to the Queen Mary but would like to avoid the noise or prefer a larger room and a pool. Since it is set up like a motel, you have to walk over between buildings and to the pool. The Sunday brunch is fantastic, there is a cute sand area for the kids, decor is cute and the facility always appears clean. I have not used any of the service options (in room or pool side) due to some really bad experiences prior to the change of ownership. During the last stay there was a music festival at the Queen Mary which is to say that it was difficult to get to the hotel and once there, parking was difficult and people were pre-partying around the hotel. We had dinner reservations on the QM and the woman at the front desk offered a golf cart shuttle to the ship. On our way to the room we watched concert goers jockey for a space on the golf cart and then proceed to sit on one another's lap to fit. When we later approached the golf cart pick up area we were relieved to find it empty. A person identifying himself as a manager informed me "this cart isn't working, the battery is out" and then he clarified that it was the only one they had. Lame. In the end we were able to get to dinner in 10 minutes via sturdy Louboutins and the walk path but I would have liked a more professional handling of the situation.

We especially liked the location and the service by the front desk. Fuego is a great place to dine. Unfortunately, we were placed next to a family that were loud and disrespectful until late night. The hotel staff tried to quiet them; however, it took many attempts. It was not the real fault of the hotel; but it did make our stay unpleasant.
Easy access to bus line ( bus line is Clean an convenient) takes you to downtown long beach. Free shuttle to cruise ship terminal. Great pool and pool bar staff. Cool/funky mayan theme throughout.
The staff was very courteous from the moment we arrived and very helpful the entire time. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Long Beach area in the future.

The large bathroom with a separate shower and bath was amazing. The bedrooms had doors separating it from the spacious living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were 2 TVs with a fairly good selection of channels. The hotel is located away from places to eat so ordering room service sounds great but it's extremely overpriced. Price of parking was ridiculous. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the extra blankets were scratchy.

$28 for parking a night? Like just hide it in the fee or something because it's just ridiculous. I'd guess that 95% of guests arrive with at least one car.
everything except the HOT, HOT, HOT weather. could not get hotel room cool enough in face of heat wave (25 degrees above expected temperature).
Very relaxing, wonderful food and brilliant staff. Did not use Spa. Pool was good. We had to move rooms as there was building work on that side of the hotel. Very surprised that they even put guests in such rooms as work started as early as 5am and we did not sleep after that time.
The decor was awesome A little pricy
The location was perfect close to shops, restaurant with easy access. The hotel rooms were very comfortable & roomy. The staff was excellent, exceeded any expectations. My toilet had some trouble flushing but aside from that no problems. Please do not print that for public use.

The Hotel was truly five star, excellent staff and the rooms were great. Good location but you need a car to get anywhere in California. The Fashion Island shopping centre is next door and offers alternative dining options. This was our first visit to Newport Beach and the Hotel was a positive start to a great trip. As with most west coast hotels the parking costs do increase the cost of staying but overall this was a minor issue.
We come back regularly. The hotel is well appointed and the staff is very professional. Rooms are comfortable and view to ocean side over fashion island is super. Oak Grill Room on the deck for breakfast is a treat.

The staff at Check in was not exactly accommodating to the people in line. The gentlemen behind the counter was having a conversation about non work related subjects with a guest, although claiming it to be hotel and check in related, while we stood in line for 15-20 minutes. For a 4 star hotel, the check in process was not that of a 4 star rating. The check in process is more of a 1 star.
I love the Area and the building and its surroundings
We paid $158 per night plus taxes and $20 per night self parking. It was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Front door staff and housekeeping were helpful and friendly.
Just steps away from the Segerstrom Theatre and across the street from South Coast Plaza. Well kept, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the entire experience. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Great room on marina. It took over an hour to check in. Hotel did not have my Kayak reservation right and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone getting it straight. Also, make sure you get a room with a water view.

Our room had such a great view of the bay. It was very relaxing and quiet. We kept the balcony doors open almost the whole time! The staff was very polite and accommodating whenever we asked for anything. The first room we were put in, the shutters were broken and would not close for privacy. As soon as I called down, they had someone come up and move us 5 doors down within minutes. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Heat didn't work. Charged $28 for parking without alerting us in advance. Room was completely standard of any hotel. Room service forgot our dressing, and the food was subpar

Food at the restaurant (lunch) was surprisingly good and sitting outside by the bay was enjoyable. Overall, the facility was "tired" and is in need of renovations. Especially, the pool area lounges and chairs were old and stained. We prefer fitted sheets (which these were not) and carpets throughout the hotel (room, elevator, halls) need attention. We were told by one of the maintenance personnel who was in our room to fix a sliding shutter door, that the hotel was be remodeled within the next 3 months which is encouraging. Location was somewhat of a catch-22. It was nice being on the harbor but you really couldn't walk anywhere to shop or eat. Must have car if you want to go anywhere off site. Overall, we had a good time.
Good location. They are charging you for a bottle of red wine that is in your room. They tell you as they are giving you the key that it's included in the price - well we didn't drink the wine nor did we want to pay for it. It doesn't matter that if you don't want it - you are paying for it anyway, how ridiculous!
Close to the mall. No clean rooms available upon arrival. It took 40min waiting in the lobby to get a room that was already reserved.

The restaurant service was the worst service I have ever experienced in 35 years of travelling to the USA. The waiter at breakfast on both mornings was the worst I have had anywhere in the world.Despite complaining on the first morning the service was the same the next day
veronica was very helpful showing my wife and i the wayto the pool she went out of her way to help us when i booked breakfast buffet was included when i arrived and try to get our voucher for breakfast the desk said it was not included this added 100 more dollars to my stay so all in all it was not a great deal
