So many great things about this place! Kind family, good cause, cozy room, great location, tasty breakfast! I especially loved the free, good quality bikes. It was so fun to explore Angkor and the city that way.
Breakfasts good for extra fee
Staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I enjoyed borrowing a bike. Aircon in room was life saving.
Shower water was warm no matter how I tried to adjust it. But that could have been because ambient temperature was over 38 C.
We enjoyed the great location away from the touristy downtown area, the comfort of the room, the great booklet with recommendations for restaurants etc., as well as the relaxed atmosphere of the guesthouse. The highpoint of our stay, however, was our second day tour of Angkor with our great tuk tuk driver Rafy (?). We really enjoyed his company as well as his safe driving and thoughtfulness and cannot recommend them enough. This service was organized by the guesthouse for a more than reasonable price, which allowed even us travellers on a budget to afford the luxury of a personal driver.
The air conditioning was a bit weak and unable to cope with the heat. Combined with the ceiling fan it was all right, though. I understand fully functional air conditioning can be difficult to come by in Cambodia. Also upon arrival the receptionist told us there were regular bikes we could use at no cost as well as mountain bikes for rent - two days later when we asked to rent two mountain bikes we were informed that all of them had broken down and the guesthouse would need to rent bikes for us elsewhere. We went with the free bikes because we did not want to be delayed and soon regretted this decision as the roads around town and in the historic park are better explored with more rugged equipment. Not a dramatic incident but it put a dent in our planning.
Very friendly staff, also we booked the tuktuk driver and a guide from the hotel and were extremely content with both! Also pick up from bus station and free bicylce rental. The breakfast service is also really nice! Would definitely go there again
Nothing to complain about, really!
