Photos of Black Bear Lodge
Overview
On the south shore of Lake Tahoe and at the base of the Heavenly ski resort is Black Bear Lodge. It’s a four-star hotel that is very lodge-like in its design. Walking in will make guests feel welcome and like they’re definitely in the mountains.
Black Bear Lodge has only nine rooms. The property is beautiful and everything a guest would expect at a lodge in Lake Tahoe. Guests can choose to stay in a room in the main lodge and they’ll get a river rock gas fireplace, king bed with premium linens, Keurig coffee makers, and air conditioning. Choose a Lodge Plus room and they’ll get a twin sofa bed and wet bar in addition to the other amenities. There are also three cabins for more privacy, The Studio Cabin, The Hideout Cabin, and The Den Cabin.
There is a bar/lounge on the property where guests can kick back with a cocktail and mingle. Besides some quick snacks and easy microwave cooking in the rooms, guests can venture out into South Lake Tahoe to find meals. Café Fiore is an Italian restaurant just two minutes away walking. The Red Hut Café is a quick 10-minute walk. Heidi’s Pancake House is 14 minutes on foot. And Blue Angel Café, serving European fare is just four-minute away.
The Black Bear Lodge property has a nice picnic area for when the weather is warm. There is also a garden to stroll through and it’s near the beach. When it’s cold and snowy, Heavenly Ski Resort is very close by. Guests will find they can walk to the Heavenly Gondola to get up on the mountain.
