Rotisserie, oyster bar, staff, diversity
Rooms need detailed cleaning, not enough check in staff, paper napkins in the rotisserie(come on). The personal touch that I have enjoyed for 25 years of staying at the Nugget is gone. I understand that you want attract the younger crowd. However the people who have been coming there for years, need to be remembered. The Gilleys thing is a fad, cater to all your potential guests. Older people are your backbone
Staff were VERY accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Room was outdated. I stayed on a floor which allows dogs. The first night I had a room where the toilet never flushed properly and there was a huge rip in the curtain. A dog starting barking next door from 9 p.m.-10:30p.m. I requested a new room and was given one with no problem. In room #2 the hot water did not work in the shower and a dog next door barked from 10 p.m.-midnight. The next day I requested yet another room. Again, I was given a new room. The clock didn't work and the wall paper was peeling but alas the hot water and toilet functioned properly! Thankfully no barking dogs on either side that night. I received an email the day after returning home of possible exposure to a very contagious virus. Ugh.
We did a quick runaway to Reno as part of our holiday celebration. The Sparks Nugget is close to great shopping and movies. We don't gamble, but will stay at Nugget again as a base for exploring Reno/Tahoe/Carson City.. The highlight was the indoor pool/spa area. Our daughter loved it.
Stayed here the last 2 years in October. Clean, fair priced, decent food, friendly staff. Exactly what I need
always like to stay in this casino, when i visit Reno very confortable bed ; )
Rooms were comfortable and clean
noisy, did not sleep well due to loud neighbors and what seemed like very thin walls. You could hear people talking in the hallway when they'd walk by.
Staff were friendly.
Paid extra for room with hot tub and it didn't work. Decor was ridiculously outdated. All restaurants were closed except for one..pretty disappointing.
Unique decor, almost Rat Pack era. Huge suite... not exactly what I expected, but entertaining. Three dining tables, a sauna and a hot tub big enough for 10. I really only needed a room to sleep, but this was fun. Cozy bed.
The size of the room for the price was great. I knew what to expect because I lived in Reno for a while. It's not a luxury/resort type place, but for the price it's great. My room was huge and on the train tracks side, which I like better than the highway side. I was also in the West tower which has not been renovated, so I knew the furniture was dated. I tried Rosie's Cafe out and the seafood omelet was very good. For the price, it was a great place to sleep while I was in Reno.
The staff was rude-ish at check-in and I did overhear some conversations between staff and guests where the guests were not being treated very politely. The parking garage is a very long walk from the West tower. I like walking so it wasn't a big deal for me, but I could see it being an issue for people who can't walk that kind of distance comfortably. One night there were people partying on my floor (25th) and they were playing drums on my door and I assume other doors. Just from what I'd experienced, I knew just to wait it out and not call the front desk. I figured it wouldn't be worth the hassle. Eventually they did quiet down and the rest of my stay was fairly quiet (6 nights). The Noodle Hut downstairs was a huge disappointment. The food was bland - I had pad thai, roast duck, and some sushi, over multiple nights. I would have tried the buffet but the line was very long every time I walked past.
no fridge in room smelled of smoke even in non-smoking room on non-smoking room controls on jacuzzi did not work properly one of phones in room did not work
Lots of amenities - pool, hottub, gym, restaurants and a Starbucks all onsite. Free parking, close to airport and great value. Friendly staff.
Stayed in the west tower where the decor in our room was a little dated but still nice and can't complain for the price.
Too close to the high way
Great weekday rates, service with a smile, just fine eaterys and lots of towels with nice toiletries. Pool on 5th floor looks great. Big widescreen tv . nice showerhead
Showing a lot of wear in room carpeting, slow shower drains and some rooms have freeway noise.
I liked the fact the room was big.
Once they found out I booked thru kayak they down graded me to the 6th floor from 23rd. She started giving me attitude and asked if I was ok with the $100 deposit. Room was not cleaned at all, I had bed bug bites all over my body, they gave me the room that has train track across so I had lights and jack hammer noise all night couldn't sleep at all. I just wonder if I had booked thru them would I have better service. Hmmmm
Pet-friendly hotel... love that they have poop bags outside for convenience.
the pet floor could use more deodorizing
It's a nice laid back atmosphere with a country vibe. Not noisy like other casinos. Food at the cafe is very reasonable with good portion's. Nice keno lounge with a free weekly tournament ( must be a card member). Room a generously sized considering that I only paid $32 thanks to kayak for a Friday night rate. ( freaking awesome!) And the location is not far from everything.
Well quite is good but in this case it's not. Nobody was winning on the machines and that's telling not many people win here. Go into the peppermill and the sounds tell a different. But other than that I didn't
Comfortable beds very quick service from housekeeping when I reported a leak in the shower
The west tower is an aging queen...pretty shabby Obnoxious fire equipment service that continued on and on
They let me have late check out at noon.
Arrived at night and Resort did not have my reservation booked through Kayak. They put me on the "dog floor" where dogs were barking all day. Room generally needed some surfaces cleaned/replaced. Night staff receptionist treated me with disdain because of my lack of reservation (I'm assuming). No business lounge or place to work.
Restaurants were good. Employees were all very nice. Beds super comfy
Seems to cater more to a young "local " crowd. Not a very safe feeling at night. Been awhile since have been there, seemed a bit depressed with the whole bottom part of resort closed and signs all dark.
Two comfy queen size beds on the 21 at floor. Great place to stop on way to Portland Very clean. Will definitely return for extended stay next time
I got a total runaround for parking. They sent me to Sparks only to later say "sorry, that lot is closed and I didn't know" then told me to park in the neighborhood several blocks from the hotel.....at night and I was alone. Not safe!!! They had the audacity to tell me parking is available but not guaranteed. The woman at check-in was just plain rude. Saw her in the bar later and wanted to dump my drink on her.
Something left undone
Bed pool but couldn't find it so didn't swim
SMOKE and price. Confusing lobby layout
All,everything was excellent. The room, the restaurant ,the location and the stay.
Bad room service. Rooms were dirty. Our bedroom light burnt out called twice for repair but nobody ever came. Requested extra towels and pillows and that never came. Possibly To over crowded to care about good customer service
The rooms at the Nugget west are old, smelly and very outdated compare to the Nugget east side. The bath tub showed molds and mildew which seemed to have not been cleaned properly. The bed linens had dust mites as we were itchy the whole of our stay. I had requested to be transferred to a different room but there was no available room.
The bed was filthy.there was hair on the mattress and a piece of poop on the wall.it was disgusting.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
They did not have the room I reserved, and the desk clerk was not very helpful.
Beds very comfortable, large rooms and bathroom, clean and tidy, indoor pool, staff was friendly and helpful
Parking was far from the tower we were in, checking in a bit long, wish I has been on same floor as the pool,
Air conditioner did not work. Even after repair man came. Beds were very uncomfortable and we were in premier tower.
rooms were nice and comfortabe
Nightmare to check in and continued the entire trip. Screwed every reservation up and I have no doubt that I will be doubled billed for the stay. Staff was not very responsive in general and seemed to care less about you or how quickly they helped you while they told stories to their friends. Kayak was very helpful and hard to get in touch with.
Rooms were nice and luxurious
This casino is in a bad location, most of the rooms are either close to the I-80 freeway on one side, or the train yard on the other side. If you are unlucky to get a room on the freeway side, there will be constant road noise. If you think you will be bothered by the road noise, this hotel will be a very wrong choice. Given the problems, not sure why this hotel has a 4 star rating. We would not go back
